Dont you ever get anxious when people start recording you at your every day work and you al of the sudden start messing up? man i’d hate having that job
It's fascinating watching them deal so effortlessly with such weapons. Unrelated, i think the manufacturers should have to print the unit price on every item of ordinance that typically has something printed on it.
Haha you job it paticipate killing people things you put in and hang under wings of aircraft these are used for killing human and destroy every things when pilot drops it down..haha i just said only go ahead do your jobs.
Why are the 120:s mounted on the outboard rail and the 9X:s on the inboard? Wouldn't it make more sense to put the heaters outside, so it has a wider view?
I wonder if we could retrofit some of our F-15's, F-16's, and F-18's with vector thrust capability. I don't know if that is practicable or cost effective. It's just a thought.
During Six Day War Israelis managed to set new world records in re-arming and re-fueling. They say it looked like a race car pit-stop. They rehearsed the process so well, they reduced the time by an order of magnitude. Therefore, at any given time they kept more planes in the air than their Arab counterparts. It was a big part of their formula of defeating numerically superior oponents.
@colonel 100 wrong. I did this job for 24 years. We can fully load an F-15C with chaff/flare, 940rnds of 20mm, two AIM-9, and six AIM-120 in about an hour or less depending on the crew. Weapons troops are required to certify on all munitions required and will be evaluated bi-monthly to maintain certification. We train to load in combat scenarios all the time. We can reconfigure the whole squadron of aircraft from training configs to full combat loads in 12 hours, but more goes into it than just munitions. When I was stationed in Germany we took a squadron of A-10C and was ready to kick chocks and forward deploy for strike missions in Libya in
@colonel 100 unless they are deployed or on alert for missions like Operation Noble Eagle they don't stay loaded with live munitions. Only other time they would have lives is when they are employing them for test or training missions.. When 9/11 happened we were recalled into work and as soon as missiles and 20mm was delivered we start loading as I stated previously.
@@richardgrzela9668 This information isn't classified, nor sensitive In fact there are plenty of videos of Load Competitions, which all personnel with base access are invited to. They are now a days called drop tanks because when they served their purpose u drop them like a bomb except they don't blow up but most of the time they are not droppepd
Let me guess. Navy? USAF can hand load 120's as well if they have to. But when you have MJ-1 jammers all over the flight line why bother breaking your back?
The 18th is still on Kadena? I was in the 18th Armament and Electronics Squadron in July of '63 to December of '64 when the 18th TFW was flying F-105s.
Just one of those missiles is $400,000. What do you want, a nice House for life, or a single missile that destroys itself while taking a plane with it.
That little tractor unit needs a silencer, must drive them insane all that noise all day and unable to communicate. Seems like a small cost addition for a far better work environment.
freaken loader's annoying sound... how about change electric loader? nowadays many inbound forklifts are electric. and how about auto loading system? towed plane on some pararell line and aligned machines load weapons. most commercial plant products are do automatic thing. in present system takes too much time and ppl. its so much manual. use the machine or A.I. loader and save time, resorces and ppls labor. if you USAF develop auto loader system, it can used hundreds of AF fields and allies. imagine, F-15 go for 5min scramble lol. its something like F-1 fit in.
As a retired Air Force Civilian, I am impressed with the technical and potentially dangerous aspects of this job. Lots of respect for the loaders.
preparing all those stuff is like... forever. firing them... a matter of seconds.. LOL
Same for fireworks. Takes weeks to assemble them, hours to prep a big show, and 30 minutes to blow 20,000 shells.
