She did awesome and soooo lucky to be able to experience this journey. The pilot was very informative and made her journey enjoyable by making her comfortable. Thank you for sharing.
Wow wow wow!!! This woman was so brave to have gone through these maneuvers. The pilot was so kind and easy going to walk her through each step. It must have been an incredible experience. I saw the Blue Angels air show in Pensacola Fl and it was insane. 7 G’s is wild. Thank you for the video, very cool.
Thank you Mollie for all that you have done to earn this incredible opportunity. Your family must be so very proud of you! To the pilot…I don’t have the words. ❤
At 60 yrs old having just retired after 40 years of service to the navy this is the most incredible and respected thing i have seen to date i believe. That's the voice of a genuine Top Gun. I just can not fathom the level of training he has endured to get his body to overcome such a natural and powerful force.
Great job Mollie and that pilot is amazing. Very fun to watch. BTW, Now imagine how much tougher it is when these guys are pulling Gs in combat. Great respect.
Air shows were my thing as a kid.. I dreamed of being an F18 pilot. Then I grew up and realized I had a sensitive stomach and a fear of heights.. sooo I’m staying on the ground! Lol this must have been the coolest experience for her!! A tiny bit jealous! And that pilot was incredible! So kind with her!!
Wonderful ride! Video brought back many good memories of rides with my Navy Lt. Commander pilot father who has past over. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 😊❤❤😊😂
I spent 6+ years working for McDonnel Aircraft when testing and developing the original F/A18 both as a mechanic and later as QA. After spending nearly 10 years as an Enlisted Naval Aviator with 1,000s of hours in the sky, mostly as a LOAD MASTER I always wanted to fly in a jet. ( never happened) After working to help develop the F18, the urge was never greater. At 77 years old now I'm not sure how much my body could endure now and I would probably last as long as she did but I will go to my grave dreaming of the experience.
The firm i work for sometimes does projects at Dahlgren. The base commander; an Admiral has one of the first F-18's on display in front of his headquarters. I tell my staff, just grab a piece or two each time you leave and pretty soon we'll have the whole jet outside of our headquarters! Joking of course. But what an awesome plane. Sad we just spent 3 TRILLION DOLLARS on the biggest piece of shyte - F35 NATO Callsign: Squab
@@prestonburton8504 Interesting, what are the biggest performance and logistics problems with the F-35 from your point of view? Also, do you see and end to the era of manned fighter eventually? I'm hearing that AI piloted fighter jets have been unbeatable against human pilots in many dogfight simulations. As we can see, AI wouldn't ever get dizzy or black out or tired so can pull off a wider range of maneuvers with ease like negative G's and sustained high G-loading if needed.
I've enjoyed watching the Blue Angels perform at the MCAS Miramar Air Show for many years, but I never had a clue how difficult it is to even be a passenger in one of those planes, let alone fly one - until I watched this excellent video. Thank you for sharing and kudos to Mollie Venable. She did great, and the pilot of Blue Angel 7 could not have been more thoughtful, helpful and considerate.
I wasn't as lucky as this young lady, but I did go on a flight while stationed in Vietnam. Talk about the luck of the draw. Our maintenance officer showed up one morning and wanted to know if those interested would like to draw straws to ride backseat on a mission. It was deemed to be a somewhat safe engagement on a suspected VC munitions hooch. There were three OV-10s, as the skipper wanted in on the action. Thankfully, not much happened. I am certain that a lot more ordnance was expended than necessary, but it was the most interesting time I will ever have. This leads up to my reaction to aileron rolls in an OV-10 as compared to an F-18. She did fantastically, however, I blew lunch. My hat is off to these two, and that pilot was saint.
If I could give a gift to my dad this would be it. He would absolutely lose his mind doing something like this. He always talks about it. This was so cool.
Beautiful jet. They’ve come a long way since my Grandfather’s p51 in WW2. My 17 year old was a pilot at 16. Had to wait until 17 to get the certificate. He’s going to fly commercial. Thanks for your service!!!! and keeping our country safe!!!!!😊😊😊
I was a crew chief on the F-16 stationed in South Korea, Osan AB. Got a theater orientation flight in the F-16. 8.4 Gs. Lotta fun. Painful though. Go Wolfpack! 36th Fighter Squadron
Those pilots must get so much attention from the ladies. That guy was cool. And she's a rockstar. And FTR, at 7 Gs she experienced about 3 seconds, not 10 since she blinked out, but hey, I'd probably have soiled myself, so kudos to her. Thanks to all you've done for youth Mollie, we all love your spirit.
This is to the pilot you seem like you could be an awesome instructor the way you gave her each detail was so cool and she handled it with Grace.. do you ever get air sick ? Great video thank you for letting us come along😊😊❤❤

funny stuff after he completes that vertical roll maneuver toward the end at 29:10...he says "vertical maneuver complete" and she says "awesome"...she was totally blacked out for about three seconds there...great video : )
One thing that should be avoided at all cost is any negativity during flight and may be why it wasn't mentioned after the fact pus I'm not entirely sure she knew that she had blacked out in the vertical but held her composure nicely once regaining (and no she was not reaching for her knees), It is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about and will never be looked down upon by ANY fighter or precision pilot, especially due to high g's. As BA-7 said, he lost his lunch in his early days and I will admit my pilot assist system took point a time or two for a few seconds in my 20 years flying Raptors and Panthers, during a brown-out, which if you've had one you might wish it was a blackout (you remain conscious with reduced visibility and loss of spacial awareness momentarily, a type of paralysis and a mofo headache afterward) Molly took it like a champion and is the ideal passenger, apparently the committee agreed granting her the flight over 70 candidates Kudos to her and the entire Blue Angel performance team
She went night night on 7.5 G’s. He knew it . He didn’t guess her mic had moved he knew it had moved and knew she went out head first night night . I heard her helmet hit he prolly did too . Still bad ass to think the home body can withstand that type of stuff . Cool AF
"That was 7 and a half G and you felt it for about 10 seconds" Hmm, no she did not. Nap time. Having flown aerobatics I can relate. There are words in the English language that describe feelings, but they don't quite handle all situations the body can go through. You have to experience them for yourself and then you WILL know. I am surprized she did not lose her lunch. Good going gal.
I used to love pulling G - and watching my instructor's head drop and looking at the wing sheeting looking like a wet sheet over a frame with vapor trails off the wingtips. I never blacked out: but I'd get to the point where I couldn't see but I could hear as my facemask slipped down and noise went into the microphone. Unfortunately a year later my former instructor and his Army student were killed when the wing of their plane failed at 10G. The plane used by the airforce flying school was very old, with a 9 cylinder turbo-charged 985 cubic inch radial piston engine. 20% of them crashed. ... Oh did I mention? They chucked me off the course.
Nice work Mollie and Blue Angel 7. Quite a bit of pilot responsibility multitasking air traffic control coms on a VIP flight. I bet that negative G pushover maneuver was out of this world.
My father was an officer in the Air Force. I knew I was going to become a F-16 fighter pilot. Then 9th grade happened... I got glasses! At that time, you had to have 20/20 vision without glasses or contacts. The optometrist had the audacity to tell me I could be the navigator!
