I heard Honda switched from Purolator, Mann etc to Fram because of the better design of Fram's bypass valve. Before the switch Honda had more reports of engine failure from oil starvation...
Looks perfect to me👍🏽 Also, as long as you use Fram’s Ultra oil filters and above you’ll be fine. Stay away from their lowest OCOD Extra Guard and Tough Guard filters.
I watched a video from the motor oil Geek that shows, pre-filling oil filters is actually good (if the design allows it). This is the top quality of Fram and it's not bad. It's their entry level oil filter dubbed the "orange can of death" that's bad.
Thanks for sharing. Actually never had an issue with these collapsible ones for DIY work, but I agree I would have gone with sturdier stuff if I were a shop
Thanks for sharing! I'll take shake the bottle. For the 2nd, I don't think it's worth it injecting oil through the silicone valve. Too much effort, plus the Motor oil Geek has a video that showed that brand new oil had less contaminants than an oil that has gone through an oil filter.
@buklao so it was correct before. That title next to a play button is the next video to play from the channel. RUclips calls it "related video". I removed it to avoid confusion, but the real title of the #short you're watching is the one beneath the related video. This applies where the creator has linked a related video.
@@DIYAutoworksNG that's not the point...why even support fram if people are watching your videos and wouldn't know that. How many have gone and bought fram based off these videos? Even if it's only once you should be ashamed.
Yep. U used a fram filter. Put oil fill cap on hood latch so you won't forget to put oil in and/or replace cap. If you smash the cap with the hood then you know you forgot something.
The Fram ultra synthetic and synthetic endurance filters are the best ones. Just stay away from the tough or extra guard. The top of the line fram filter is the synthetic endurance filter. Made by champion labs.
Fram oil filter......hell no
I heard Honda switched from Purolator, Mann etc to Fram because of the better design of Fram's bypass valve. Before the switch Honda had more reports of engine failure from oil starvation...
@@DIYAutoworksNG Nah it's good as long as It's Frams' top oil filters the budget ones are to be avoided.
If you do 5000 miles oil changes you are ok
I agree. It's that orange can of death that I won't touch, even with a long pole!
Fram ultra is a damn Good oil filter and it's NOT Orange Sir
Fram is a poor filter choice.
The gold ones are okay, just don’t use the cheap orange one.
That's the better built Fram filter. OEM is Fram.
Nice work 👏🏽
Thank you 🙌
Recycle bottle top as a funnel i did that with an oil bottle 😊
Nice 😉
All perfect, 5000 miles is the sweet spot for oil changes keep up the good work ❤
Many thanks!
Looks perfect to me👍🏽 Also, as long as you use Fram’s Ultra oil filters and above you’ll be fine. Stay away from their lowest OCOD Extra Guard and Tough Guard filters.
The famous orange can of death!
🤣 Avoid at all costs!
I always hear pre oiling the filter is bad, I always hear fram is bad. Is there 100 percent proof on this or wise tales?
I watched a video from the motor oil Geek that shows, pre-filling oil filters is actually good (if the design allows it). This is the top quality of Fram and it's not bad. It's their entry level oil filter dubbed the "orange can of death" that's bad.
Nonsense ... pre-filling a filter is always good if you can do it (the mount is not upside down).
Yeah that is what I figured. I don't see why it would be bad. Unless you get some crap inside.
Pre-oiling is really bad for an engine. You want it to be dry for as long as possible. Honestly, you shouldn’t even use an oil filter.
I didn't see you wipe down the mating surface for the oil filter. I give this a good wipe down and I check for leftover gasket material.
Good catch! I certainly do it. Just forgot to add the footage 😑
I would fpcus on 3 point car stands. I believe they were stopped being produced due to superiority of 4 point stands.
Thanks for sharing. Actually never had an issue with these collapsible ones for DIY work, but I agree I would have gone with sturdier stuff if I were a shop
Steel drain plug washer, copper is needed
Honda uses aluminum washers.
It's not steel it's aluminum. He's good
Thanks bud 😎
Fram...
Noted!
I use copper oilpan ring
He used aluminum
That's cool
He used a new crush washer. Doesn’t matter if copper or aluminum
Good work again with the video, where can i get crusher washer in Abuja?
Thanks!
Not sure to be honest.
Here's something you could add:
Shake the oil bottle
Inject oil into the oil filter silicone valve
Thanks for sharing! I'll take shake the bottle. For the 2nd, I don't think it's worth it injecting oil through the silicone valve. Too much effort, plus the Motor oil Geek has a video that showed that brand new oil had less contaminants than an oil that has gone through an oil filter.
FRAM.. Noooooooooooooooooo
It's their top of the line filter though, which hasn't done too badly in testing. I'll switch to Purolator Boss though 👌🏼
Fram's ultra synthetic and Synthetic endurance are high end filters. Just stay away from extra guard and tough guard.
Nice Civic
Accord, actually!
@@DIYAutoworksNG
Accord G9 ?
Honda oil filters are made by Fram.
A specific part number is made by Fram.
I heard Honda switched to Fram for their oil filters from Purolator due to a better bypass valve
What's the liquid you sprayed?
Brake clean
I use either brake or carb cleaner.
Not crush washer on sump plug just normal washer on first
Nope🙂
I think you got the wrong video description. The video is showing an oil change lol.
I think you're reading the title of the next up #short. You mean the one next to the play button, right? That's what will play next
@@DIYAutoworksNG It said something about accord CVT fluid change but regardless, it's showing correct now.

just below full needs more oil, alsontge wrong oil was used.
NEVER overfill with oil right to the full mark. Does more damage than with less oil. Grade of oil depends on local temperature conditions.
Nope. Used 0w-20 as recommended
It should be a copper ring on rhe drainplug
hondas equipped with 17MM headed drain plugs use replaceable aluminum washers, Nissans use Copper.
💯
Honda comes with aluminium washers. Have you seen the video I made on using a washer 100k miles 😱. Didn't even leak. Lol
Starting the car before gauging the changed oil😂
I know you're kidding 🤣
@@DIYAutoworksNG you wanted an answer and I gave you one🤣
Fram filter=fail
Lol. It's the ultra which is fine. It's that tough guard aka orange can of death that is a no-no.
@@DIYAutoworksNG that's not the point...why even support fram if people are watching your videos and wouldn't know that. How many have gone and bought fram based off these videos? Even if it's only once you should be ashamed.
I get your point. Made a decision to switch to Purolator Boss.
Yep. U used a fram filter. Put oil fill cap on hood latch so you won't forget to put oil in and/or replace cap. If you smash the cap with the hood then you know you forgot something.
Lols. Okay, I agree on the Fram.
Where to keep the oil cap is largely down to preference!
This guy pre fills his filter haha wtf
Nothing wrong wit that.
I'm addicted. Lol
Great work but please get some better jack stands good God
Actually had those for years, made in UK. Not the mass market clones from China. Thanks for the concern though. 👍🏼
No Fram!! I choose Wix!
I get you. Lol. It's the golden top of the line Fram though. That said, I'm switching to Purolator Boss.
Fram's ultra synthetic and synthetic endurance filters are actually high end. Just not the tough guard or extra guard. Cheap filter.
Nuttin like a fuckin fram filter.... should of left the oil in it using a fram
It's not the orange can of death though...
The Fram ultra synthetic and synthetic endurance filters are the best ones. Just stay away from the tough or extra guard. The top of the line fram filter is the synthetic endurance filter. Made by champion labs.
