      Keep grinding my brother and take it one day at a time. I'm from the Chi too and I get where you're coming from. I'm actually in the process of getting my CDL as well, and I know the pay will suck at first, and I already know the ups and downs before getting into trucking..keep those goals swift bro and in the end I see you doing big things. Keep the content coming, and sharing your (positive) experiences with the rest of us. Little do you know you're inspiring others to change their lives for the better..your blessings will come bro trust the process. I believe in you! 💯💯💯

    I remember them days...they pimp the hell outta you because they know you need them for the 6-12 months experience. However, once you hit that 6 month mark....it's up. Make that trainer work!! Back the truck up ten times a day until you are completely confident that you can put your trailer anywhere. You gotta be patient and persevere. Nothing worth having comes easy. Trust me, time flies on the road. You'll look back and smile at this...

  • @highoncash

    I did my 30k miles in flatbed division as a company driver for prime, huge mistake! Way too much work for the money you make and never home. They make you pay about $6,000 for the securement equipment. I only used the equipment for about 2 weeks and left to another company on a dedicated route, dry van and reefer. I'm loving it, it's way better. Money has been better, I'm home 2 to 4 nights a week. I thought Prime was a good company but that TNT training wasn't a good fit for me. I didn't need as much training as a lot of other people need. I needed money and it wasn't there at Prime. Also their health insurance is ridiculously expensive for the 1st year. I couldn't afford it. 👍

    The biggest carriers pay the least
    The private carriers (pepsi-firestone-kellogg-shell oil, ect) pay better
    The big $$ is in Heavy Haul. (bulldozers-farm eq-giant machinery) all which require pilot cars pay the most.

    first ... he didn't take you home because he's an asshole... I never ever leave students in the truck when I go home.. granted.. they've changed a lot... when the students wants to go home their pay will stop... when the trainer wants to go home and the student doesn't... the trainer still pays the student out of their check. I think student pay was 700 a week and now it's bumped up to 1100 I think..... NIGHT DRIVING IS HARD - I ALWAYS DRIVE NIGHTS WHEN I HAD A STUDENT... it makes it easier for a student to roll and they can see... they're rookies.. I never understood how you can trust a student driving at night on unknown roads. Your trainer is in control of everything going on in that truck and your training. they place the 50k miles on people to keep those team loads moving. when freight is plenty they'll drop it to 30k miles. Prime is a good company but you have to learn the sht that they pull and determine if you can deal with it. remember.. you can go home when you want to. TOP BUNK WHILE TRUCK IS MOVING... is definitely against the rules but I too made my students sleep up top... it's a hygiene thing .. got a choice.. either sleep up top or find another trainer. all of them stayed up there and its temporary... I do take 34's and we can do rolling 34's. it's always time to wash clothes... that truck has to stop and showers every other day at minimum.

    In the 70s, truckers left unionism behind to become independents, competition can be brutal when you haven't any protections: fare-thee-well?

    This ia hiw they do people when they think you are dumb. Look elsewhere. Sleeping on the top is illegal not to mention very insafe. You need to tell someone.

      Prime tells clearly to both students and trainers that no one is supposed to sleep on upper bunk when truck us moving. I am not sure why he didn't complain

    • @chadwhite2931
      @chadwhite2931 9 месяцев назад

      He said he didn't want to sleep in no one else's spot, meaning that the trainer slept on the bottom so he chose to get on the top bunk because no one else had been sleeping up there.
