Preach :) I have had old schools help me at O dark thirty to back up when I first started and I even to them the spot but they stuck with me...I will never forget ppl like you
This business is built for the strong nothing less...you're so right everybody has to pay there dues...I can tell you're a great trainer respect king I love your POV and how you handle things.
Thats why I couldn't be a trainer I don't have the patience for people like that and if your on my truck your gonna respect me and I'm gonna respect you and if there's a problem outside of that we can step out the truck and handle it or you can go back to the terminal. Sounds like you did alot to show him transparency and he just couldn't accept it so props to you man and in my opinion the trainee should be doing more anyway to learn the ropes hell I remember when I was being trained I wanted to do it all and be corrected when I was doing something wrong thats the whole point of being trained.
I had a blast. My trainer had been with the company a long time. We were both about 50. No matter what at 5pm the day was over. He told me he doesn't get paid enough to run 24/7 and live like an animal. He knew every bar in the country. We hit most of them. I already had my CDL and some experience. We ran double paper logs. Fixed the logs anyway we wanted. Up at 4am. And I would let him sleep in. Drove all day till 5pm. Whoever felt like driving did. Any loads over 32000lbs he refused. 10 minutes later another load would be given to us. Nothing but long runs. He always said all those short runs were for idiots. It doesn't pay anymore. Great guy. I got real lucky. They kept wanting us to come in for maintenance. He would always tell them unless there another tractor waiting for us he was staying out. We didn't get paid to sit in a terminal for 2 days. They never said a word to him. Good times.
I think you handle that like a real pro. It’s a hard job that we do and any new driver will only understand when they running their own truck. Keep up the good work
Honestly, if a trainee is new, they should be doing the majority of the driving especially in the first couple, trainer just takes over to make sure the truck runs a full clock like a solo driver would. The trainees get mad saying they’re not making as much as the trainer and doing the work… well no shit… that’s how training works. That’s how it works anywhere
Thank God the company I trained with the trainer was not allowed to sleep while I was driving. A trainee should not be teaming until the trainee gains enough experience to go solo. My trainer and I did teaming weeks after the first day.
Saw a video on here a cpl days ago about a newbie on here saying after his 1st week solo he had to get a hotel room & get out the truck.. all the comments said trucking ain't for you. Some people ain't built for this shit
Instead of leasing a truck prime is charging your triple for how about getting your own truck outside of prime and your truck payment will be like 1200 a month instead of over 5k and you wont have to train to make decent money and deal with being shoulder to shoulder with other dudes peroid. If you wanna still work with prime so bad they have a owner operator side called RST you can lease onto to pull prime frieght.
Man, he is lucky he did not drive for a small company back in the day when paper logs were around!! Cali to Chicago in one shot. What is sleeping? Lmao
Everybody in trucking talks about how hard it is. It’s not that hard it’s common sense. You’re sitting behind the wheel keeping space watching your mirrors it’s not like you unload the trucks. You just sit there while they unload the truck. No I only did it for 45 years so I don’t know what I’m talking about.
I have worked roofing while in high school, did yard work after high school, did construction work, loading and unloading roofs with bundles of shingles. Quite frankly I find it disrespectful and disgraceful to refer to truck driving as "work or hard work". I started at Prime, did my 40k, upgraded and went on to another reefer only company. Bout to complete 1 year reefer and this is ridiculously easy "work". I also worked at Dollar General reefer division, 100% touch freight. Loved it. I left because of some BS. I am about to go on home time next week. I've been on the road since January, 4.5 months. Running from Dever down to Texas and all the way east to Pennsylvania and everything inbetween. 😂😂😂😂😂 cake walk job. Only thing that would make me mad is a small paycheck. I say all this not to brag but to help people understand that this job pays well and it is not difficult or hard. I am not sure why some people have ridiculous expectations when you aren't even required to bring all that much to the table to get started.
He is frustrated on the mtns and was about to get in his own truck? No wanter there are so many completely preventable accidents. It's the training issue not putting in automation breaking, speed limiters, useless sensors, the list goes on.
All those unnecessary training miles will weed people out. I tell everyone get your training at another place than prime so you can actually make money then go to them after if you still wanna work for them
What’s good bro I just started at prime I test out Friday glad I came across your channel I hope I get a TNT training link you no cap , Hit me Ima need a mentor out here ‼️
Hey brother. What trucking company do you truck for? Im just got my CDL i jave no family and Im prior service US Army Infantry. I know all too well about sacrifice and paying dues. I believe OTR is best for me. What advise eould you give me as a very green rookie?
I just did my first week our terminal is in Circleville OH we arent coast to coast we do a lot of Indy Chicago Milwaukee etc. Ive been driving through the insanity but I love it he sounds like he shouldnt be in a truck
I love trucking I just wouldn’t do over the road or training and sleeping in the same truck with someone no thank you ! I’ll stick with local trucking 💪 but you definitely sound like a good trainer props to you
Sounds like it isn’t for him my trainer first time ever driving took me threw the smoky mountains with a 10spd😂 and the Cairo bridge and night and didn’t tell me about it had a good ol time
How do you get into trucking and get mad about driving a long time? 😂 Its not like the game American Truck Sim where you can pick the loads you want freely.

I saw this same comment on another video.

When I was in training, we ran 2 to 2, I loved it. Enjoying the channel man. Good luck out there.

People need to understand that success is not given, it is earned.
I remember my first day with my trainer. We hit I-95 South out of Pennsylvania. After about 300 miles I was whooped.
You sound like you're a good trainer ! I did it for 1.5 yrs and got super burnt out almost lost my mind !
Hahaha bro got drafted to drive truck 😂
I'm not gonna lie, I'd cry too if I had to go up any mountains or inclines in a Prime truck at 35mph 🤣
😂
@MILLENNIAL TRUCKER Just playing be safe driver!
Thank God the company I trained with the trainer was not allowed to sleep while I was driving. A trainee should not be teaming until the trainee gains enough experience to go solo. My trainer and I did teaming weeks after the first day.

If you're single with no kids the situation you just mentioned is perfect
It’s not the physical, it’s the mental… it’s the frustration… it’s the fear of missing out
Yo gang you from New York City? Solid video shit was funny as hell lol
If you’re in the bunk, who’s driving 😮🙃🥸
He is frustrated on the mtns and was about to get in his own truck? No wanter there are so many completely preventable accidents. It's the training issue not putting in automation breaking, speed limiters, useless sensors, the list goes on.
