IT'S DONE! To The King has been completed after a year of work, and I couldn't be happier with the result
In this MAP we see the decisions that the Pale King made to face the infection, and how he begins to question the morality of his measures to ensure the well-being of an entire kingdom, all inspired by the lyrics of the song To The King, a hollow knight fanmade song, created by @TyKimYT

@@-PalePoet- Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don't believe I have much more to say about Hollow Knight. The other characters are very interesting, but I feel most passionately about the Pale King and his vessels. Maybe when Silksong comes out it will tell another story powerful enough to compel another song ^^ In the meantime, both Lazy Moonkin and Man on the Internet have some incredible Hollow Knight fansongs of their own. I'm particularly a fan of Lazy Moonkin's cover of Hornet, the accordion is incredible!

Hey Stella! Just wanted to say that the Empires song is amazing! It's such a banger and I keep repeating it in my head a lot! It's obvious in your voice that you're passionate about it and in my opinion it gives the song a lot of soul (not even mentioning all the amazing animators!) I'm really looking forward to the next project :).
Haha thank you, but just to clarify this project was run and hosted by Victoria and not me! I only participated, and I'm afraid I did not sing the song "Empires" that was Vicki Olivia and Fe Salomon the vocalists from the band Electric Swing Circus who made the song. I just used the song for the MAP haha. Nevertheless I'm glad you've enjoyed these projects 🩵

I always liked the idea that the White Lady began to get angry about the actions of the pale king and over time it became a little difficult for her to love him, and I would not blame her since her children were literally being thrown where she would never see them again, Im glad to know that someone also has that idea :3

neither of them were proud of what they did. they both hated doing that and its made obvious in the game

@@Thequirrel lol she did have a choice. she admits in the games that she has a very insatiable urge to ... umm... breed. so she agreed to the plan. that's the main reason she locked herself up in the queens garden. to stop herself from breeding again. and lets be honest she doesnt even care about the knight. as soon as we turn up she's like, "go usurp ur brother and become the next vessel".
Maybe PK He told her that they couldn't feel pain or anything else, but when WL realized that the HK did, she felt betrayed.
All the animators did such a good job! Especially showing the consequences of the kings actions!

A reminder of the fact that no one was truly a hero in hallownest, almost everyone did something objectively evil at some point.
It has been so much fun participating in this project, it will always be special to me as my first MAP submission as well. Im so excited for this thing to finally come out!!!!!

But think about it imagine your The Queen Of The Hallownest and then some one came from no where and is the king now and tries to kick you off in the mind of his child
Wouldn't you be mad?
There is a lore tablet in the throne room of White Palace. It's written in present tense, but refers to both the beginning and the fall of the Kingdom. It's a Pale King's vision, the prophecy for Hallownest.
The last line reads: "Eternity in promise and charge in progeny cursed."
As players, we can deduce that, according to this prophecy, Pale King would sacrifice, curse his children in order to keep his promise to his people, that Hallownest would last eternal.
But from Pale King's perspective, this last line is much more mysterious. The rest of the prophecy, the first two lines are: "No blazing kin. Only one light shall shine against the dark. / The Wyrm becomes beacon, minds expanded, to yield, to devote." This seems to be a sort of a guide, Pale King's prescience telling him what he must do, what he will do, in order to build an eternal kingdom.
If Pale King followed the first two lines of the prophecy to a tee, why wouldn't he follow the third? The wording of it suggests that the price (charge) for fulfilling his destiny would be to have his children cursed (progeny cursed).
What I'm getting at is this: it's very possible that Pale King never made the decision to have children, because he believed that, due to some forces beyond his control, they would be cursed. And this is also why, when the end approached, he was willing to sacrifice them to Void. Because, to his understanding of the prophecy, he had to do that in order to save the Kingdom.

This is what no SilkSong does to people. It drives some insane, and it drives some to appreciate all the beauty that Hollow Knight has to it, and make it even beautiful.

I've seen so many hollow knight maps recently, and only since I started watching them, did I realize they had the very best animations. Truly a masterpiece.
I already loved this song but everyone who worked on this did such an amazing job to elevate it to the next level. So many people coming together to make this as incredible as it is!
Another MAP! Yayyy! i watched it! It supports the song really well, and there was only 1 PK animation that depicts him goofy(the one where he swears to the lady). I'm not saying goofy PK is bad, just like the ones where he is a cold and concentrated(empathic is good too) is better. 7:11 whaaaa!?!?! There is a post credit scene!?!??!!!!!

HOOOLLLYY CRAAAP THIS WSS PHENOMENONAL!! everyones parts meshed so well together, honeslty i also had to take a whole moment over how mukio drew quirrel (my boy!! Hes so cute!!) But this whole thing is wonderful. The nods to the video for the song itself are so wonderful! I loved seeing all the different ways people drew PK ans Hollow.

Also, portraying WL as crying over the vessels is a faint bit ironic since she canonically tells the ghost "alr. Go replace your sibling sealing the radiance, emotionless thing. Btw have part of my charm, bye."
I see it more trying to cope. She's so caught up in her own grief that she doesn't realize she just sent yet another child of hers to death,some people cope with a sorta positive attitude and are the hardest to tell their true feelings until it's too late

The legendary Pale King, the being that inspired millions and commanded the most powerful army. A being that was renowned as a god, that was seen as immortal and eternal… nothing more than a tiny bug struggling to outlive his subjects.
And what does he get for it? A fancy throne to die on.
Oh, how I loved this. Honestly I really wish people'd make more HK inspired music.
