Because, yeah, the hollow knight and knight were the most perfect and neither were emotionless (THK with the Pale King and the knight clearly cares about hornet because winged nosk takes her form and nosk usually takes the form of loved ones, as seen if you dream nail the corpses outside their lair) - the others would have likely had decently strong emotions
@@Snackeroid The knight you mean? I think it’s just that they are impure. They express a will to live as if you fall in acid without Isma’s tear the knight will flail around and try to escape. They also can make a choice about whether to just kill THK or dream nail and kill the radiance directly. Hornet also says that replacing THK will only “prolong the kingdoms stasis.” Since the infection is getting worse, that implies that ending one takes the game back to how it was before THK’s shell cracked and the radiance got more powerful- at this point the infection was already spreading as THK could never contain the radiance. A pure vessel containing the radiance should have the same effect as killing her, so therefore the knight can’t be pure. I also think the story just works better if a pure vessel is practically impossible, as they will develop attachments if they interact with anyone (the path of pain cutscene occurs with a young HK as they are small in it). Besides, if anything, since the power of the void is able to fully manifest in the pantheons, the knight gets less emotional in godhome, as the knight at peak power would be one that is fully emotionless as the void within them would grant them more power (plus to reach winged nosk you need voidheart) Don’t get me wrong, the knight is close to emotionless, arguably more so than THK (hence why ending one is still better than nothing), but they still aren’t quite there.
I’ve just realised that there are only two endings where even one vessel is free to wander the world. In ending one THK dies and the knight is trapped in their place, in ending Two the same happens but hornet is also trapped, in ending three they both die (although the shades do find peace), in ending 4 and 5 the knight becomes the shade lord but THK is free (even then in ending 4 the void destroys the world so “free” might not last long.
As I understand it, in the endings where Knight contains the infection, he will inevitably fail because he also has feelings, so it would just be starting the cycle again.

Yes I love this animation. Most hollow knight animations either focus on game events or the events before the vessel was sealed. This however showed glimpses of all the vessels that fell before the knight came which is something I always wish to see more of. Thank you for this wonderful animation.

This was such a good animatic! I especially loved the concept and execution of each of the known vessels’ lights going out as they died throughout the story.
Gorgeously done... I'm especially glad to see more focus on the vessel's feelings. It's surprising how many people deny void vessels as living, feeling, sentient creatures despite them clearly showing feelings and thoughts on multiple occasions.
This is SO GOOD! I love the turn around that transitions into thk becoming grown up. This perfectly depicts the emotions behind the vessels and the tragedy and injustice they were victims to. Well done.

I absolutely ADORE the tragedy of the Pure Vessel's story and how being the chosen one led to unimaginable suffering on his end, forcing himself to repress everything he thought and felt in order to be the 'pure' vessel his father needed him to be... But I also love that you gave the time of day to what happened to the countless other vessels who died, got infected, got lost. The tragedy that these were discarded specifically because they had minds, feelings, thoughts, and the horror of them being sealed despite knowing that ? It's chilling. I especially LOVED that you showed vessels being fooled and slayed by Nosk, it's such a nice touch !! Anyway. I am positively blown away

And that's what I wanted to convey in this animatic, apart from mentioning the other discarded vessels I also think that part of their tragedy is that with their only existence they cannot rest in peace because they were precisely created for a purpose that they could not fulfill, and that was to contain radiance Or well, that was what I interpreted with one of the endings shown in the game ^^

I love that at 2:20 The shade in the foreground looks as if it wants to reach out to the dying vessel, like if it could speak it would scream for them to stand strong! Depicting others vessels who died before the knight prevailed hits so hard. Lost kin, the vessel who died to hornet, many who died to nosk, they all tried to escape their demise, but ultimately failed.
This is actually one of my favorite videos ever!! How the Hollow Knight calls out to the Knight, like reaching out for rescue and all the siblings looking to the knight was amazing! it’s wonderful!
i love calling ghost/the knight "the vessel who won". their will was so strong, they managed to leave hallownest, though eventually they would return. that will they have, never ever left them. they aren't even supposed to have a will....yet, ghost's willingness to continue on to get the result of their choosing says enough. digging deeper into their own mind and tragic past allows them to command the void, which is what they themself is made of, under their will. the strongest will. ghost knows what they're capable of, and understands that they're the last hope for the both the pale siblings' and hallownest's salvation. in the end, knowing this, they have 3 options left. will they betray their siblings and repeat the cycle of suffering? or have your siblings and yourself kill what made you all be created in the first place? or, channel your power through your actions and combat, and become a god? ghost is more than just a vessel at this point. they're something much more than that. they've become more powerful than their father himself. ghost is basically a god killer turned one. why was it them, the one chosen by fate to continue this? that will...is the reason why they're the vessel who won.

No se si lo que digo me van a entender pero bueno. Me parece interesante que en la parte final las sombras de todas las vasijas le den la espalda a la vasija pura ya por traición o por ser la vasija perfecta pero que no cumplió su proposito, y justo cuando se esté yendo se den la vuelta y miren al último receptáculo (osea nuestro protagonista) que está listo para cumplir su proposito de ser el hollow knight, el que eliminé a destello o convertirse en el Dios de dioses. Es hermoso para mí y es brutal.
Hace no mucho termine el juego, y debo decir que me encanta la cantidad de detalles y emoción puestos en esta animatic. Los dibujos y la musica queda tan bien y el final me impactó, como si de la furia de los caídos y el sufrimiento del Hollow Knight, el fantasma, caballero, la posible última vasija, sera el que finalmente traiga justicia a Hollownest y a todos sus hermanos en el vacio.
