- In the months since the shooting at her elementary school, Caitlyne Gonzales has become an advocate for change to gun laws. She says she won't let her friends' deaths be in vain.
The way she talks to Jackie and the way she feels her replies warms my heart and breaks it at the same time

Turn in your youtube account and recliner chair, cops waited in the hallways as you waited in your living room. I don't see any difference. Children don't go to school to be accidently killed by or cops or gunmen, they go to school to learn. That's where you come in, or shall I say sit in. If you really are serious about saving lives, try doing it closer to the time of the shooting, like maybe months or years prior to the massacre NOT seven months later. It only displays your level of urgency and concern.
@@gordsruby5963 well how was I supposed to know that there would be another elementary school shooting. It happened in Texas & I'm in North Carolina. Plus was at a barber shop when the story broke out on the news. Anyways you never know when another elementary school shooting could happened. It could take years or decades. In this case a decade. 2012 was the Sandy Hook shooting & a decade later in 2022, the Uvalde shooting happened. I'm betting that another elementary school shooting will happen in 2032 but if I'm wrong and it happens sooner or later, I'll know and understand. But it will eventually happen again. School shootings always happen.
You should blame the cops, who failed to confront the shooter. They had multiple weapons and full of protection. Yet they took to long to stop the shooter. One cop was even too busy washing his hands with sanitizer. That girl had every right to call out those cops for their failure. If they are not going to protect children and all citizens, they shouldn't serve.

I mean citizens should get involved in their communities before gunmen attack schools. No. They have to live their life the best they can without them. Kids shouldn't have to fear for their lives because of a gunman and cowardly authorities but it seems like in this generation they are going to live in fear for future chaos

No child or anyone for that matter deserves to lose their lives or their best friends like this, shame on the Uvalde cops for standing around while innocent children with nothing to defend themselves were murdered
Uvalde Texas not the only place tragedy occurred other places how about those whom got killed also who's helping them
No one forgot about those other events involving a gunman shooting a school. This one hit hard because 19 kids who are only 10-7 years old lost their lives too soon because cops didn't do their job of stopping the gunman and took an entire hour to stop him. One hour kids feared their lives. One hour parents cried and tried to run in to save them but police pushed them back. Gunman also killed 2 adults in the school too and one of them was married after her husband found out he died of a broken heart when hearing the news. Police failed to man the frick up and go inside looking for the gunman before he found more people to shoot
I'm proud of her for speaking up , but it's not suppose to be like this our kids deserve better. why isnt the government doing more ? why keep lining there pockets with money .
Higher ups are always corrupted with more money and hiding from criticism because their egos are so fragile it's easy to break

Well turn off your youtube account if you're tired of hearing about gun control! children don't go to school to be accidently shot by cops or gunmen, they go to school to learn.
You have your priorities mixed up. This should have been stopped at the congress, citizens, school safety and security regulations and policy level. Schools are supposed to be safe before gunmen enter the classroom not after.
If you really want to see a good shootout? go see a movie, or plan your own shootout in your living room and tell me how it worked out for you. I'll reply back seven months after the massacre so you can see excatly where my level of concern and urgency is.

@@Azw3thinkw3iz Well yeah nobody deserves to be starved, beaten, sexually assaulted or raped by your teacher and shot all in one childhood. I'm sorry you had to go through that experience as a child. Maybe you need counseling, but yeah not a good idea to take all children from their schools. Maybe parents and citizens need to be more involved in their communities to stop the problem before making that decision. Thanks for sharing your story. God bless
This is just one shooting out of hundreds that happen in this country every year. We need to change our gun laws-that is blatantly obvious.

The Police were cowards and they could’ve saved the kids sooner, curse the police! This 10 year old girl is a strong, brave, kind and caring girl who has a voice of bravery and truth!

Your comment is absurd. I know Uvalde very well. Caitlyne Gonzales is well-known for writing all her own speeches, & speaking for herself. Her parents don't do it for her. She's an Honor Roll student, & her writings in English use good grammar & spelling. Your writing here is a muddled mess. You should ask a 5th grade English teacher to help you improve your grammar, including syntax.
