Congrats! You won't regret it. Its been 2 years now and the vacuum is still great and hasn't lost any power. You'll just need to clean the filter frequently.

The thing that u didn't know what it was is a tool adapter. So u can use accessories from older dyson vacuums on new dyson vacuums.
