Hi ghostlyrich, great demonstration and detailed. It surely gets a bit difficult with one hand holding the phone. Only one suggestion is, it is worthwhile opening the motor section as there is a filter in there that Dyson does not mention.
Great video , I did everything you did and man was this unit dirty! I managed to get all the rubber pieces off being very gentle and not pulling on the tips , but I managed to slide the inside ones off using a flat head going from the bottom and sliding it up gently. It helps as well when they are warmer with water, so they are more flexible as well once soaking for those who might have a harder time getting them off. I didn't take the very top section off due to the screws being deeper inside. I didn't want to screw with that clip in the handle like you did, but it cleaned out very nice in soapy water and did so until nothing came out but clean water. Furthermore, I do think it is important to take off all the jet end tips made of rubber, as these can block getting all the dirt and small hairballs out of the system. These tips can and will block it more if not removed completely during soaking and rinsing. Thank -you for the video because it inspired me to fix it and save money. 😉 Make sure you replace the filter inside the main body of this unit, or at least check its condition. Replace if needed through Dyson only. It is a good size filter.
Have this model in the closet and it got heavy use before we got the two uprights. It's years old. Will need to do the deeeeep clean. Thanks for posting!
It’s a super tricky one. I’m sure you already got it, but you have to separate the sides there a little bit will pushing the button then it’s why I was having such a trouble showing it even if I were to put on a tripod which I tried as well. It just couldn’t get a good angle on it.
Wow this looks like something I would totally crew-up. Once I cleaned the house of an old man. Used my own vacuum cleaner. It still stinks of the old dog the guy had - when I use it. Would this fix the dog smell? I don't own a dog but it smells like dog when I'm done cleaning.
This should help id also clean it with a strong detergent to kill the odors from the pet dander that are soaked in be sure to clean all attachments and hose thoroughly as well
The cyclones already failed you should deep clean the motor cause there is dirt on the motor inlet in Europe we have the second generation bigball Cinetic its 3 years old and still running strong
actually, he is on the right way. But the hardest part is not removing the red buckle, but removing the tongue and the 2 screws under it. I managed to remove the red buckle but not able to remove the blue tongue.
I have been searching for a video/instructions that shows how to get to the 'pre-motor' filter. I was hoping it would become visible when the top of the assembly was removed (starting at 6.23 mins). Is it possible to get to the first filter this way @ghostlyrich? Cheers! PS. Just found this response from a query to Dyson ". . . the dust and dirt is separated from the air into the bin, without the need for a washable filter. The machine has a post-motor filter which is there to capture carbon dust from the motor however is designed to last the lifetime of the machine without the need to wash/replace it". There may not be a 'pre-motor' filter depending on the model.
@@ZERG81 Sorry just saw your reply... There is about 8-10 screws that your need to undo to get the unit inhalf. You also need to take the caps off the wheels.

I'm stuck at 6:25. I wish I could get a better picture of how you got that clip off. Great video, for sure!!

What type and sizes of screwdrivers were needed to take it all apart? Thanks for the video!
What tool do u use to take off the first layer?
Awesome, I follow your steps clear my big wheel very well.
Hi, so is it a t9 bit for all the screws/bolts?
Thanks so much! You saved me a lot of figuring out time and deciding if it was worth it or not and it doesn't seem that hard. 😁👍🏼
Wow, massive commitment! I appreciate the upload, thankyou

@@ghostlyrich Thank you for answering. How do I clean the hose and the tube?

Great job Thank you 😊
There is a pre moter filter inside the base unit that you can replace also

@@redbackspida2517 The pre motor filter is not on the top end of that @ghostlyrich is cleaning. It is located in the lower unit with the motor.
Why did they make this so complex
cheers bro ,much abliged .
6:25 you broke the red piece...-_-!
Still works haha
