What really puts these boxes on the low end is their launchers, I mean this isn't 2010 ya know? heh but the settings page is pretty sweet! weird combo. The apps look so dated though. The video playback looked a lil slow, couldn't really tell cuz you didn't spend much time on each clip for me to gauge it, but if you say it plays well then great!
I'm actually looking for a Kodi box for my cousin, I'll check it out :)
I hope you'll get your hands on the Xiaomi Mi Box running Android TV that were recently announced :D not sure when it's coming, but would be great to see a review of it, especially with of the pricing of Xiaomi's products

I wonder if they are gonna make a version of Cyanogenmod for this.
Its not bad , but i prefer just to run kodi/xbmc on a pi , i don't have a 4k TV as i am a die hard plasma user and my 2011 panasonics "smart" stuff is slow as hell for netflix dlna and so kodi with some " "unofficial" mods to get netflix to work runs fine for me :).
Please what is the solution to this box displaying 4k for some seconds and off again, it continues like that without completely booting.

I got an Android TV for a review from Amazon, it has Android 5.1 on it, and I know others with different boxes that also run 5.1
You mention you've not seen one with Android TV on it, mine had the Android TV settings app on it (same as yours), which brings the question, what *is* Android TV? It's just the apps on the device.
One thing I would suggest is checking if you can just install TV apps from APKMirror. I could not, others with other boxes could. Your box is rooted, it's pretty simple to make it able to install TV apps (just copy a file from /system/etc/permissions on an actual TV to it), which makes it pretty much a stock Android TV
I think I said I hadn't seen one with Android 6.0+ on it.

My experience with android TV players such as the nexus player and Nvidia shield all have had issues with Google play movies either the quality sucks or it has buffering issues and I have 75mb/75mb per second Internet so that's not the issue have you had these issues

I'v got the mxiii and a LG 4K led tv, but i can't get 4K, yes i can run a 4K movie but my tv says it's 1080p, if you look at the mxiii it wil say auto on 1080p and i can't switch to 4K ? ?? Does anyone know what i do wrong? Is it the standard hdmi cabel that came whit the mxiii, do i need a hdmi 2.0?

Are you sure this is a genuine piece? I ask because I have one of these, and it's identical, except it has 8 gigs of storage, and none of that YCCTEAM branding. I'm not even sure it has that silvery logo, or that Gigabit mark (not at home right now, can't check). The rest of the software and hardware looks exactly the same though. I got mine from GearBest, and they don't have multiple vendors selling the same thing, so I'm fairly certain I have the real thing. I'm actually kinda irritated now - if I'd known there was a 16 gig version I'd have got that instead.

the cheapest video card that supports 4K at 60Hz, is the GTX960 as far as i know, so if that would have had it, it would have been impressive
That isn't at all how it works. When it comes to graphics cards it can RENDER 4k at 60fps. In this situation it is decoding and displaying 4K at 60hz, a much easier thing to do.
***** i know but i think you missed the point of my comment, as far as i know and understand you need HDMI 2.0 for 4K 60Hz, the 960 is still the cheapest card to have that.
You didn't run DRM Info...
None of these android media players will do Netflix 4K or HD because they're not certified by Netflix.
That said...they do make great KODI boxes...or SPMC boxes...now that KODI is dropping support for Android because of piracy issues.

Nope. The only way to get 4k on your TV is to buy a 4k TV. Sorry!
This device would work on a 1080p TV, but it will only display at 1080p.

The interface is nice but quality is not from what I seeing on the movie.
since it's rooted you probably won't be able to play back some content without some work around
It look the same device as a probox media player
It more or less a kodi box.
my self build raspberry pi is still better than this :P I can have on it android and also I can watch sky HD stream with 1080p60i and it supports RUclips 360° videos :P ok maybe my Gameboy color case is bad for movies but I can connect it to tv with hdmi ^^
