I wish I found this video before I bricked my box. I factory reset my device only for it to get stuck on the boot logo. Unknowingly I went and flashed a firmware to "fix" the issue. Great video - learnt a lot
I just did the same thing. 2 boxs stuck in loop. And i just moved in and wanted the 65 inch smart tv behind it will be getting put in my bedroom i guess.
Have a matricom 3 g box stuck on boot and a hvkla with supposedly 6 ram and this fancy rockchip 3133. It was the 1st to go. Lasted maybe 10 months. I think firestick is the way to go now

Great video sir! I just wanted to say It's far easier to utilize adb and fastboot commands via terminal in Linux or even cmd in windows to install updates. Adb sideload is drag and drop and most Android oems offer the updates that can be flashed through two commands

Yes, whenever the problem seem to move around it is usually the power supply. I had one with flickering video the other day, I tested the power supply and it was way off under load.
@@PeterC408 First thing i did was buy a 5A/ 5000 ma New supply. In 3 years never anymore power supply fail! Thank you for all your post! But the OEM power supply is a Fail/problem waiting to happen. Bet a lot of GOOD boxes are trashed over a bad wall supply. It's not always works or dead. I seen voltage swings and low MA output. If you add anything to the Box the supply is Maxed out. As with anything if you run at 90%+ of capacity it will not last long.

This video answered a few questions I had. I'm still looking for information on resetting a ZTE ZXV10 B760H. I haven't been able to find any button on the motheboard, but there are jumper pins. Don't know what to do.
Thanks for the tips. I just tried to do a reset on a X99 Mini (stuck in splash screen) and it doesn't work - pressing reset does nothing - just a blank screen and this is a new box (only a couple o months old). Tried the same in my old box and it works - so, I know I'm doing it right. Is there any other trick to try to reset the X99 at hardware level? I'll open it for a look-see, but I suspect I got myself a new paper weight.
I do not know of such a release nor do I expect one. Most Android boxes are designed for a particular OS release and never intend on upgrading... You get what you get. Nvidia and Amazon are a bit different... they released a marketplace where they hope to sell you things... like movies, games and channels. For that reason, they keep updating the OS to control the user experience and make their support lives easier. H96Pro+ is only hoping to sell you a new box when you want to get one... they have no incentive to keep you up to date.
Afternoon/morning Peter, Great vid and thanks. My issue goes a bit deeper and wondering if you have any advice.. T95z plus No.1: we had two power cuts in quick succession and TV box is now stuck in perpetual 'boot'. Presents the animated logo, but nothing else. T95z plus No.2: purchased new TV box and low and behold, electric switched off (doing a bit of wiring in the house) and the new box was also stuck in 'boot' and some times, no display on the box at all. Just the blue light from inside. By dumb luck, T95z plus No.2 went into recovery mode after powering it off/on may times. I was able to factory reset and all is well. I decided to see if I could save T95z plus No.1, but I am stuck. I only today discovered the reset button in the AV port, but when I press and hold while powering on, the box doesn't boot at all and has no lights. Just a quick flicker of the hex-halo when the power is inserted. I have tried the new power cable and variations of when I press the reset button, but no change. Just stuck at 'boot'. Is it bricked beyond repair?. Thanks again and love from Ireland
Sorry for the long delay, we had a death in the family and time was lost. The T95z looks like it does support a new build of Android 12 but it is an older processor. How do you have so many of them? Try holding the button when applying power. Changing power supplies is a good idea. If it doesn't work, it could be just dead. There are so many great boxes. Make sure to get one that will keep updated: Roku, NVidia, Amazon. Those will work for years.
This is great, Peter. I have an Nvidia Shield tv box with various apps but I don't know how to update them. Asked on their forum but they get a bit precious about using 3rd party apps. Any advice?
Sure. The easiest way is to go to the Google Play Store and look up the installed apps. When you pull them up, they will show you if there is an update available. If so, just hit update.

Hi Peter, I have two identical Android Box T95ZPlus and I've downloaded the TWRP image file for this model. When I boot in recovery mode with one of the boxes with the file on a SD card it brings me right into recovery mode where I can perform a BACKUP, RESTORE, WIPE, etc........ When I try to do this on the 2nd unit, it will not go into recovery mode at all, stops at the model's LOGO screen and just stays there. I remove the SD card with the Recovery.img file from this unit and now, holding the reset button and powering it up gets me to the Android Recovery mode but not the same as the first. This one brings me in to the Recovery where my choices are: Reboot System Now, Reboot to Bootloader, Apply Update from EXT, so on and so on. All I want to do is be able to do a backup of this second unit and restore it to the first T95ZPlus. It seems with the 2nd unit, I presently can't find a way to create a back-up of it. THANKS in advance for your help or anyone else that can shed some light on this.
Alright, I know this isn't exactly an Android box, but it probably functions exactly the same. One of my phones is full of trojans (my brother was pretty dumb) and factory resets aren't enough to erase them because the system files got infected. Is reinstalling its firmware and switching to stock Android a good idea?
I find this video interesting! Mr. Carcione says basically the firmware is specific to your hardware and he is right. But is what that also means one of two things. 1. The hardware used is very cheaply made! 2. The programmers are too lazy to make new firmware and operating system. With this known the industry is setup to sale a new box for every new OS. And they're ok with that so once a year buy a new box. So no matter how you look at it! Most all Android devices are ARM based you have TV's, iPhone, Android tablet and Android Phone to name a few. I never remember having to replace the device to get a new OS. And yes they have firmware updates. Just not Android Boxes!!!!!! Seems like a really lucrative business.
Each system can be describes as an SoC (system on chip) and a series of companion chips (options not contained on the SoC). These can include Ethernet, WiFi, BlueTooth (usually a different integrated chip), NAND and Memory chips, etc. The Firmware needs to know exactly which SoC and support chips you have otherwise it will mistakenly interface with them. If you want a box that gets upgraded... don't get Android but AndroidTV boxes. These are a marketplace that is kept up to date. Yes, it has a limited store but the fact that the manufacturer will continue to update the OS is a godsend. I am partial to the Nvidia shield as my favorite AndroidTV box. Yes, it is the most expensive but it has been running everyday since 2015!!! Totally worth the price of admission. Thanks for watching.
Peter Carcione: Lets us start with China TV boxes first. On the majority of them. The only difference is shape, color, size or name the main board is the same in most of them. The proprietary Nvidia Shield but even it receives updates with Android unlike the others. Still it's a good box designed by Nvidia including the processor. They're designed to do A specific thing for the most part. The first Shield was $199.99 and all the Shields after with out any real boost performance! From the original one in 2015 In 2017 the Shields remote was replaced to a gamepad v2. Than in 2019 the Nvidia Tegra X1 received a + for Dolby Vision! $199.99 please. We all know what happens to proprietary stuff! One of three things... 1. You have something really great (Apple) 2. You remain mediocre and not do much with your product. 3. You end like other proprietary things obsolete. I myself prefer a Raspberry Pi. It's a little more versatile with lots of operating systems. It comes with options not quite as disposable and cheaper then a Shield. Yes I do realize that one day say the Pi 4 hits it's limits and become obsolete but that's years away.

I have tv box( h96 max v58 ) but hte manufacktur not update any device they make . there are another tv box with the same hardware ( Khadas Edge2 ) htis manufacktur always update and upgrade device they make . can I use firmware from Khadas Edge2 to upgrade the h96 max v58. you tell us every tv box made for specific android version but Khadas Edge2 came first with andriod 12 but after one year the manufacktur upgrade it to android 13 and after to android 14.

I find that given the same board model e.g., k200 or n200 all android box brand's firmware can be install interchangably but doesn't it require some patch?
Each model has different resources: sound chips, processors, amount of memory, etc. All of these are defined in Firmware and proper communications from the OS to these resources are dependent on proper Firmware. That said, maybe the difference is only a Wi-Fi Bluetooth chip that you are not even using and may never notice that it isn't working.

I have an issue with a MXQ PRO 4K box. I have the exact firmware that is meant for the chip, i burn it with an IMG maker to an SD card ... But the device never reads anything. Always gives a failed to load error when I click on Update from SD CARD..?
Hey Peter, I wonder if you could help me out again. I now have, ipvanish, real debrid and downloaded insomniac passion build. Now, initially all was well, however these last couple of days I’m having real problems. I download a show and it shows me, say 70 stream. Sometimes RD comes on the list first then the free ones, sometimes this is reversed. Either way, when I select a stream, in will continue down the list, but a notice appears at the top saying no stream available. I’ve done the buffering advice, no change.ive done a fresh install, I’ve reloaded the build (twice), no change, please can you advise. Thank you for your time, Ann P.s. the box is a Tongle x1
It is important to note what you are looking for. Although sometimes it seem like it, most KODI add-ons are not "Wish Granters" but simply a search engines that search the web for popular items. I recall one guy that was flipping out because he could not find Gun Smoke anymore. Apparently, not enough people care about Gun Smoke anymore. People post things that get hits. Real-Debrid is a server and they want to please their paying public - they don't want to serve content that does not get hit. It is odd that you were getting 70 streams, but perhaps it was something that the content owner has been going after for copyright, so it is actively getting pulled.

It is best just to look at the plug, voltage and current and get a match for that. You need to match the plug (fits) and polarity (99% center positive) and the voltage. The current (or amperage) can be over but needs to be enough. Usually for these boxes we are looking at 5V, 2A but 2.5A is fine ... it will only consume the current it needs. In the old days, we could go to RadioShack, but that is gone now. The plugs (usually barrel plugs) are measured in millimeters (usually between 2mm and 3.5mm). X96 Max I found the reset button in A/V port. Unplugged the power and pushed the rest button and held 10 seconds and plugged in the power. Held the reset 10 seconds after the power cord was installed and released. The logo came back on in the frozen state ??? Frustrating. What else can I try???

A very interesting question... it has me thinking... I am interesting to know. If I had to guess, I would bet it will load from ROM and put you back to 6.1 If you do it, let us know.

As we went from Android Jellybean (4.4) to KitKat(5.0) the requirements changed a lot. Jellybean was popular and long lived. When KitKat came out many of the boxes were left behind. I would just get an upgraded box, an Android TV and here's why ruclips.net/video/_ONZkYWyhqM/видео.html

AndroidTV boxes have come way down in price. The good ones they are now calling GoogleTV (instead of Android). The bonus is that GoogleTV boxes stay up to date with the latest OS. No more upgrades. Also there are Amazon Sticks and Roku sticks that are based on Android but also get regular OS updates. Recommend one of these instead amzn.to/4ao8WqW (entry level 1080P) and amzn.to/3UaQFaX (4K)
I have the T95Z Plus Android 12.0 TV Box. Was booting to Home Screen like it should. Now boots to KODI. I attempted the reset as done here. My Android box will not power on while holding the reset button and power at the same time. My version does not have a power button so I use the remote controls on/off button.

Not unless the manufacturer provided it. See when you get a FireStick or Nvidia Shield they keep it up to date because it is a market place. Box manufacturers don't care. If you bought it as Android 4.1, it will stay there. I really like the Roku Sticks with the microphone search. You can ask it for anything and it will tell you all the places you can stream it and if it cost money, all the prices from all the sources! Now TV sounds good at low volume amzn.to/48zELLU They have sound engineers that make the spoken voice more clear and commercials, normal volume.
Hi have a great day! I have the MXQ RK3229 and the ESP8089. The reset button does not enter recovery mode and does not allow the use of a USB burning tool. However, the computer does not identify the TV box since the reset button is not functioning properly. When I plug in and hold the reset button, the TV box lights up blue, but nothing happens on the computer. When I plug in to the television, no signal appears. Is it possible that the operating system has been lost? What should I do? Please I need help.
I am not sure how you are plugging this into the computer but it most likely has a corrupted boot partition. When I look up the MXQ RK3229 it shows that it came with KitKat (android 4.4). If that is the case, it is going to have trouble running many of the newer applications needed for streaming. All the services will require an upgrade to newer versions. My advice would be go get a newer box, one that will update the version of Android for you. The new 4K Firestick are $24 amzn.to/3sDSYbe that seems like a good way to go.

Dear Peter here is my other issue. Just a week back I bought a Vontar Android 11 TV Box with RK 3566 Processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It has Excelent results, speed and Resolutions are all fine. Download files on the device is also great; however, I have a rather unique disappointment with this device. If I want to transfer a file or a folder from this Devic (which I downloaded on it or trnasferred from another device to it) to an External Drive (USB Flash or a Larger USB SSD or USB Hard Drive) then it seems that the process of transfer is in Progress (as it can be seen on the Progress Bar of my tv screen), but when the contents are shown as 100% transferred then the message comes "Failed" which means the file was not transferred and in reality the file was not transferred. This does not happen with every transfer but happens most of the time. The Size of File is irrelevent as I have tried small files of less than 200mb and larger files of 2.5GB or more. I have tried on different Target Drives with Fat32, exFat and NTFS. File system did not matter, happened with all of the drives. Sometimes, its goodluck and sometimes its not. Also, please note that the same file which "failed" the transfer, failed again and sometimes the same file successfully transferred. However, If I transfered a file to Micro SD card in the Device's allocated Port then no problem. All File systems on the MSD did not matter (However, I am aware of the limitation of the FAT32 file system which limits the MSD Capacity to 32GB only). In view of foregoings, I termed it as a "Unique Disappointment". Any thoughts, Ideas, solutions I can benefit from your valuable knowledge and experience. Kindest regards, Ershad Balosh ++
I installed ATVXperience on my s905W box then i installed all my popular software on box made backup then installed master back up to 5 different s905w boxes , to my shock all 6 boxes now share the same mac id, not WIFI MAC but lan mac id im was not aware that this would happen and not sure how it happened reached out to ATVXperience havent heard any suggestions from them, if i can find s905w firmware from manufacturer maybe that might reset mac back to original state please help if you have any ideas thanks
The Operating System is built into the firmware. It is extremely low level (platform specific) software that must come from the manufacturer. Phones are often upgraded for Security but the Amazon FireStick and Nvidia Shields get upgrades because they are market places... Get one of those and never have to worry about versions anymore.
Great video. Question, I have a box that when connected wireless speed doesn't get above 10. Connected to ethernet cable and got to 56. My computer goes over 150. Any way to fix? Thanks
To get over 150Mbps you need Gigabit ethernet. Even if you have 10/100 ports on your unit, I am surprised that you only get 56... more likely would be 80-85Mbps but some ethernet chips are less expensive. Truthfully 56Mbps should be enough to stream anything that box will support. The Wifi... may units have less than stellar wifi performance, it is was one of the key things we tested.

Hi Peter, i just bought H96 plus pro S912 Amlogic 3/16gb. What happened is that i only installed the superuser snd when the box asked me to reboot i did snd after that it stuck in logo. I tried the wipe data and clear cache but wont help. I also tried the same firmware on SD but it wont read the file. The file is .img but aml is on the front. Much appreciate if you can help! Hi, I don't spect you to reply but I can't find any help. I clicked on "factory reset" but when i reboot the system it goes back to the "Android recovery" menu over and over again.
It sounds like it did not fully recover or the button got stuck. Try it again and make sure it has enough power. Some of those power supplies are weak and writing the boot partition can take higher power.

I am trying to update my X96 Mini and while updating with usb burning tool, it goes upto 7% and ends up saying [0x30201004]UBOOT/Disk initialize/Send Command/Error Result. What I can do?
My EMTEC GEMBOX get stuck on updates. Every time I turn it on it gives me a option to update mostly my default games. I know it takes time for it 2 update but I had it on for 3 hours at one time and found out it crashed and/or froze. I tried reset option many of times. I just don't know. Should I just update via USB?
Updating via recovery is a very low level operation. Often times there is not a lot of flexibility for Ports and such. Some times people will ask, "I don't have an SD card, can I use USB?" It is not up to either one of us. If it allows it, you can and if not, you just cant.

Yes, whenever the problem seem to move around it is usually the power supply. I had one with flickering video the other day, I tested the power supply and it was way off under load.
@@PeterC408 First thing i did was buy a 5A/ 5000 ma New supply. In 3 years never anymore power supply fail! Thank you for all your post! But the OEM power supply is a Fail/problem waiting to happen. Bet a lot of GOOD boxes are trashed over a bad wall supply. It's not always works or dead. I seen voltage swings and low MA output. If you add anything to the Box the supply is Maxed out. As with anything if you run at 90%+ of capacity it will not last long.

I snip the point off of the toothpick with pliers or side cutters. It's a lot more comfortable and less awkward to hold the button in.

Thanks for the tips. I just tried to do a reset on a X99 Mini (stuck in splash screen) and it doesn't work - pressing reset does nothing - just a blank screen and this is a new box (only a couple o months old). Tried the same in my old box and it works - so, I know I'm doing it right.
Is there any other trick to try to reset the X99 at hardware level? I'll open it for a look-see, but I suspect I got myself a new paper weight.

I do not know of such a release nor do I expect one. Most Android boxes are designed for a particular OS release and never intend on upgrading... You get what you get. Nvidia and Amazon are a bit different... they released a marketplace where they hope to sell you things... like movies, games and channels. For that reason, they keep updating the OS to control the user experience and make their support lives easier. H96Pro+ is only hoping to sell you a new box when you want to get one... they have no incentive to keep you up to date.

T95z plus No.1: we had two power cuts in quick succession and TV box is now stuck in perpetual 'boot'. Presents the animated logo, but nothing else.
T95z plus No.2: purchased new TV box and low and behold, electric switched off (doing a bit of wiring in the house) and the new box was also stuck in 'boot' and some times, no display on the box at all. Just the blue light from inside.
By dumb luck, T95z plus No.2 went into recovery mode after powering it off/on may times. I was able to factory reset and all is well.
I decided to see if I could save T95z plus No.1, but I am stuck. I only today discovered the reset button in the AV port, but when I press and hold while powering on, the box doesn't boot at all and has no lights. Just a quick flicker of the hex-halo when the power is inserted.
I have tried the new power cable and variations of when I press the reset button, but no change. Just stuck at 'boot'.
Is it bricked beyond repair?.

Sorry for the long delay, we had a death in the family and time was lost. The T95z looks like it does support a new build of Android 12 but it is an older processor. How do you have so many of them? Try holding the button when applying power. Changing power supplies is a good idea. If it doesn't work, it could be just dead. There are so many great boxes. Make sure to get one that will keep updated: Roku, NVidia, Amazon. Those will work for years.

Sure. The easiest way is to go to the Google Play Store and look up the installed apps. When you pull them up, they will show you if there is an update available. If so, just hit update.
Oftentimes I have got them through apk. Is it the same process?

Hi Peter, I have two identical Android Box T95ZPlus and I've downloaded the TWRP image file for this model. When I boot in recovery mode with one of the boxes with the file on a SD card it brings me right into recovery mode where I can perform a BACKUP, RESTORE, WIPE, etc........ When I try to do this on the 2nd unit, it will not go into recovery mode at all, stops at the model's LOGO screen and just stays there. I remove the SD card with the Recovery.img file from this unit and now, holding the reset button and powering it up gets me to the Android Recovery mode but not the same as the first. This one brings me in to the Recovery where my choices are: Reboot System Now, Reboot to Bootloader, Apply Update from EXT, so on and so on. All I want to do is be able to do a backup of this second unit and restore it to the first T95ZPlus. It seems with the 2nd unit, I presently can't find a way to create a back-up of it. THANKS in advance for your help or anyone else that can shed some light on this.

I find this video interesting! Mr. Carcione says basically the firmware is specific to your hardware and he is right. But is what that also means one of two things. 1. The hardware used is very cheaply made! 2. The programmers are too lazy to make new firmware and operating system. With this known the industry is setup to sale a new box for every new OS. And they're ok with that so once a year buy a new box. So no matter how you look at it! Most all Android devices are ARM based you have TV's, iPhone, Android tablet and Android Phone to name a few. I never remember having to replace the device to get a new OS. And yes they have firmware updates. Just not Android Boxes!!!!!! Seems like a really lucrative business.
Each system can be describes as an SoC (system on chip) and a series of companion chips (options not contained on the SoC). These can include Ethernet, WiFi, BlueTooth (usually a different integrated chip), NAND and Memory chips, etc. The Firmware needs to know exactly which SoC and support chips you have otherwise it will mistakenly interface with them. If you want a box that gets upgraded... don't get Android but AndroidTV boxes. These are a marketplace that is kept up to date. Yes, it has a limited store but the fact that the manufacturer will continue to update the OS is a godsend. I am partial to the Nvidia shield as my favorite AndroidTV box. Yes, it is the most expensive but it has been running everyday since 2015!!! Totally worth the price of admission. Thanks for watching.
Peter Carcione: Lets us start with China TV boxes first. On the majority of them. The only difference is shape, color, size or name the main board is the same in most of them. The proprietary Nvidia Shield but even it receives updates with Android unlike the others. Still it's a good box designed by Nvidia including the processor. They're designed to do A specific thing for the most part. The first Shield was $199.99 and all the Shields after with out any real boost performance! From the original one in 2015 In 2017 the Shields remote was replaced to a gamepad v2. Than in 2019 the Nvidia Tegra X1 received a + for Dolby Vision! $199.99 please. We all know what happens to proprietary stuff! One of three things... 1. You have something really great (Apple) 2. You remain mediocre and not do much with your product. 3. You end like other proprietary things obsolete. I myself prefer a Raspberry Pi. It's a little more versatile with lots of operating systems. It comes with options not quite as disposable and cheaper then a Shield. Yes I do realize that one day say the Pi 4 hits it's limits and become obsolete but that's years away.

I find that given the same board model e.g., k200 or n200 all android box brand's firmware can be install interchangably but doesn't it require some patch?
Each model has different resources: sound chips, processors, amount of memory, etc. All of these are defined in Firmware and proper communications from the OS to these resources are dependent on proper Firmware. That said, maybe the difference is only a Wi-Fi Bluetooth chip that you are not even using and may never notice that it isn't working.

Hey Peter, I wonder if you could help me out again. I now have, ipvanish, real debrid and downloaded insomniac passion build. Now, initially all was well, however these last couple of days I’m having real problems. I download a show and it shows me, say 70 stream. Sometimes RD comes on the list first then the free ones, sometimes this is reversed. Either way, when I select a stream, in will continue down the list, but a notice appears at the top saying no stream available. I’ve done the buffering advice, no change.ive done a fresh install, I’ve reloaded the build (twice), no change, please can you advise. Thank you for your time, Ann

It is important to note what you are looking for. Although sometimes it seem like it, most KODI add-ons are not "Wish Granters" but simply a search engines that search the web for popular items. I recall one guy that was flipping out because he could not find Gun Smoke anymore. Apparently, not enough people care about Gun Smoke anymore. People post things that get hits. Real-Debrid is a server and they want to please their paying public - they don't want to serve content that does not get hit. It is odd that you were getting 70 streams, but perhaps it was something that the content owner has been going after for copyright, so it is actively getting pulled.

It is best just to look at the plug, voltage and current and get a match for that. You need to match the plug (fits) and polarity (99% center positive) and the voltage. The current (or amperage) can be over but needs to be enough. Usually for these boxes we are looking at 5V, 2A but 2.5A is fine ... it will only consume the current it needs. In the old days, we could go to RadioShack, but that is gone now. The plugs (usually barrel plugs) are measured in millimeters (usually between 2mm and 3.5mm). X96 Max I found the reset button in A/V port. Unplugged the power and pushed the rest button and held 10 seconds and plugged in the power. Held the reset 10 seconds after the power cord was installed and released. The logo came back on in the frozen state ???

If no pinhole you might try just unplugging power and when plugging back in try holding down the power button on boot.

I have a old Keedox MX3 box running 4.4.2 I wonder if I can upgrade it. Found the reset button in the a/v jack.

AndroidTV boxes have come way down in price. The good ones they are now calling GoogleTV (instead of Android). The bonus is that GoogleTV boxes stay up to date with the latest OS. No more upgrades. Also there are Amazon Sticks and Roku sticks that are based on Android but also get regular OS updates. Recommend one of these instead amzn.to/4ao8WqW (entry level 1080P) and amzn.to/3UaQFaX (4K)
I have the T95Z Plus Android 12.0 TV Box. Was booting to Home Screen like it should. Now boots to KODI. I attempted the reset as done here. My Android box will not power on while holding the reset button and power at the same time. My version does not have a power button so I use the remote controls on/off button.

Not unless the manufacturer provided it. See when you get a FireStick or Nvidia Shield they keep it up to date because it is a market place. Box manufacturers don't care. If you bought it as Android 4.1, it will stay there. I really like the Roku Sticks with the microphone search. You can ask it for anything and it will tell you all the places you can stream it and if it cost money, all the prices from all the sources! Now TV sounds good at low volume amzn.to/48zELLU They have sound engineers that make the spoken voice more clear and commercials, normal volume.
Hi have a great day! I have the MXQ RK3229 and the ESP8089. The reset button does not enter recovery mode and does not allow the use of a USB burning tool. However, the computer does not identify the TV box since the reset button is not functioning properly. When I plug in and hold the reset button, the TV box lights up blue, but nothing happens on the computer. When I plug in to the television, no signal appears. Is it possible that the operating system has been lost? What should I do? Please I need help.
I am not sure how you are plugging this into the computer but it most likely has a corrupted boot partition. When I look up the MXQ RK3229 it shows that it came with KitKat (android 4.4). If that is the case, it is going to have trouble running many of the newer applications needed for streaming. All the services will require an upgrade to newer versions. My advice would be go get a newer box, one that will update the version of Android for you. The new 4K Firestick are $24 amzn.to/3sDSYbe that seems like a good way to go.

Dear Peter here is my other issue. Just a week back I bought a Vontar Android 11 TV Box with RK 3566 Processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It has Excelent results, speed and Resolutions are all fine. Download files on the device is also great; however, I have a rather unique disappointment with this device. If I want to transfer a file or a folder from this Devic (which I downloaded on it or trnasferred from another device to it) to an External Drive (USB Flash or a Larger USB SSD or USB Hard Drive) then it seems that the process of transfer is in Progress (as it can be seen on the Progress Bar of my tv screen), but when the contents are shown as 100% transferred then the message comes "Failed" which means the file was not transferred and in reality the file was not transferred. This does not happen with every transfer but happens most of the time. The Size of File is irrelevent as I have tried small files of less than 200mb and larger files of 2.5GB or more. I have tried on different Target Drives with Fat32, exFat and NTFS. File system did not matter, happened with all of the drives. Sometimes, its goodluck and sometimes its not.
Also, please note that the same file which "failed" the transfer, failed again and sometimes the same file successfully transferred.
However, If I transfered a file to Micro SD card in the Device's allocated Port then no problem. All File systems on the MSD did not matter (However, I am aware of the limitation of the FAT32 file system which limits the MSD Capacity to 32GB only).
In view of foregoings, I termed it as a "Unique Disappointment".
Any thoughts, Ideas, solutions I can benefit from your valuable knowledge and experience.

I installed ATVXperience on my s905W box then i installed all my popular software on box made backup then installed master back up to 5 different s905w boxes , to my shock all 6 boxes now share the same mac id, not WIFI MAC but lan mac id im was not aware that this would happen and not sure how it happened reached out to ATVXperience havent heard any suggestions from them, if i can find s905w firmware from manufacturer maybe that might reset mac back to original state please help if you have any ideas

The Operating System is built into the firmware. It is extremely low level (platform specific) software that must come from the manufacturer. Phones are often upgraded for Security but the Amazon FireStick and Nvidia Shields get upgrades because they are market places... Get one of those and never have to worry about versions anymore.
Great video. Question, I have a box that when connected wireless speed doesn't get above 10. Connected to ethernet cable and got to 56. My computer goes over 150. Any way to fix? Thanks
To get over 150Mbps you need Gigabit ethernet. Even if you have 10/100 ports on your unit, I am surprised that you only get 56... more likely would be 80-85Mbps but some ethernet chips are less expensive. Truthfully 56Mbps should be enough to stream anything that box will support. The Wifi... may units have less than stellar wifi performance, it is was one of the key things we tested.

Hi Peter, i just bought H96 plus pro S912 Amlogic 3/16gb. What happened is that i only installed the superuser snd when the box asked me to reboot i did snd after that it stuck in logo. I tried the wipe data and clear cache but wont help. I also tried the same firmware on SD but it wont read the file. The file is .img but aml is on the front. Much appreciate if you can help! Hi, I don't spect you to reply but I can't find any help. I clicked on "factory reset" but when i reboot the system it goes back to the "Android recovery" menu over and over again.
It sounds like it did not fully recover or the button got stuck. Try it again and make sure it has enough power. Some of those power supplies are weak and writing the boot partition can take higher power.

I am trying to update my X96 Mini and while updating with usb burning tool, it goes upto 7% and ends up saying [0x30201004]UBOOT/Disk initialize/Send Command/Error Result. What I can do?

My EMTEC GEMBOX get stuck on updates. Every time I turn it on it gives me a option to update mostly my default games. I know it takes time for it 2 update but I had it on for 3 hours at one time and found out it crashed and/or froze. I tried reset option many of times. I just don't know. Should I just update via USB?
Updating via recovery is a very low level operation. Often times there is not a lot of flexibility for Ports and such. Some times people will ask, "I don't have an SD card, can I use USB?" It is not up to either one of us. If it allows it, you can and if not, you just cant.
