Here's how you can reset your Android box back to factory new in case its firmware goes a little funky and you've Bricked your box. My box got into a Restricted Profile Mode and I could not get it back out. This took care of it and put it back to Factory Settings.

Used the reset method on my Tanix TX9 box, it had a video issue (scrambled video) after Amlogic S912 logo screen. My method: TX9 Box connected to HDMI, held down reset button (reset hole near SPDIF), plugged in box, box booted, logo showed, held reset until logo hangs (about 15 seconds), stopped holding the reset button in, waited about 20-30 seconds "Recovery Mode" popped up. From there did a factory reset like your video. Awesome. Love your videos, always informative. Thank you, Peter.

Hi Peter I have that same h96 pro plus recently bought it after watching your video, but in order to install a 3rd party SU, my device is stuck in the boot loop, where the MBOX logo shows continously, the reset button is not working for me either, plz suggest me what to do???

+peter carcione i upgraded my android pro box with the h96 pro plus 7.1 firmware. Now my box wont boot up. ive tried reverting back to 6.0 and i get a green screen. Ive also tried to factory reset in the setting you show here. I need some help. Id appreciate it.

Hi. On recovery mode the volume and power buttons are used because those are normally the only physical buttons on a phone when you go to recovery. Also, it is also a good idea to wipe cache as there might be old data there that might prevent the box from booting. On the mecool you can get to recovery by just holding the power button until it boots although the reset button gets you there also.
Hello Peter, I have the device you are taking about and is in that very mode you are talking about. I have tried the wipe cache/factory reset/ and mount system options with a power reboot and no success! Can I reload the firmware via SD card and bypass this issue all together or must I resolve this first?

Hi Peter I have a Mxiii box, did the factory reset thing but stuck in a screen with Android bot just twirling . Been like that for hours. Tried resetting a few times but keeps coming back to the same screen, by passing the option recreen to reset to factory settings, any help much appreciated.

I followed your screen, yes I get the screen more-less like yours, but I don't see "Wipe cache partition" so only i select Wipe data factory reset and it completes it, but when rebooting it, it's still same.. stuck with load up logo... Any idea what i can do with this?

Hi Peter, I have just ordered and received the android box s-10 it is in a loop restart. I have tried the factory reset and no help is this box over or is there a new trick to add firmware or something? also if this box does return to working the kodi app is not visable ? its in there but in order to use it I have to reinstall kodi every time .
Thanks. I have a couple of cheap boxes and I wanted to try some alternative firmware. I did get into recovery mode but I couldn't figure out how to use volume up/down and power. I never thought to use the remote and I just left it for another day. Freaktab has a great community if you need firmware, tools or help. They are a bit more friendly for noobs than XDA.
Any info on how to reboot an android emish x700 it's just stuck on the dead android green guy with the red exclamation and there's no overhead options any advice?. Thanks
Peter thanks. I have one that doesn't even want to start. I see a bit of red glow when teh hdmi is plugged in but no response otherwise. I think it is a dead one then huh?

Peter I was watching your video recovery mode on android. On front of my box tronga 2 . I put it into recovery mode couple of times and the clock on the front goes to zero and when booting up again it counts down at mbox the bit it keeps flashes and sometimes 3 or 4 mins passes before alls loaded bk in. Its just because you looked a bit worried when it took so long all the same ur videos are brilliant

Hey Peter, I'm having an issue maybe you can help with.
My CS918 box will not keep the time, I have to go into settings each time turn box on and set time. I tried turning on location and it's not turning on. Even tried using Google maps to turn on location and still won't turn on location.
When in settings under date & time when I do automatic date & time for my state it's always off by an hour or two.
Wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to get correct day & time set.

Thank you so much. I just got a new TV box a high end cloudnetgo cr19. anyway the box is rooted and I downloaded the super user app and it went into a non stop boot over and over. For a high end box it has a lot of firmware issues. Thanks Buddy I got my box to working.

Hi Peter i have a Trongle X1PRO box it has been stuck in restricted profile for sometime now dont care what i try i cannot get it out of restricted profile .when the box is turned on it goes to the home screen then is redirected straight to the restricted profile screen. the box has no reset AV hole for the toothpick method.
+Peter carcione, I need help! my h96 pro plus freezes at random times. sometimes freezes at the logo screen or sometimes freezes while I'm watching a movie. I've updated the firmware and also did a hard reset but it's still doing the same thing. any ideas why this is happening?
Does it seem to be thermal related? Like does it get hot. See if adding a heat sink changes anything. That is odd. Mine works pretty well
X96 mini... pin hole is in AV port, i even opened the box and nothing, i can not get in recovery? any hints how long to press or when to release or what to do,,,i found perfect roms for it to flash but can not enter recovery

My set x96 x4 just newly bought and once start up less than 10 mins it just switch off by its own then i tried to reboot it by using the tooth pick reset way it actually works once but then it turn off again till now no matter how many times i tried reboot it , it just dont works. That is indeed a good box but here is one that is worth taking a look at ruclips.net/video/5xpgAZBagmE/видео.html It is an android TV and people are saying that it is even cheaper at Walmart. It is not the full google play store but much less restrictive than the Amazon PlayStore. If you have Amazon Prime and plan on keeping it for Shipping, Music or the occasional movie, then it is hard to go wrong with the Amazon FireTV, but... this is definitely in the ring.

Hi we have a couple of different android boxes. Not sure which are the most up to date as I'm sure they are older models, and not sure how to install / program them, or which would be the best to use - we don't have a smart TV. These are the 3 that we have: MXIII 4K, Hi Media Q3 and ABox Pro 4K. Hopefully you can help with these. Note: Originally we had the ABox Pro 4K only using Netflix and the resolution was good; didn't try any other apps. However, just tried the Hi Media Q3 and was able to get to RUclips and Netflix but resolution not good. Also considering trying Amazon Prime. Not sure how all of this works? Suggestions?
Netflix decided to remove support for many android boxes. If you want NetFlix, you need to go with: Nvidia, Amazon, Apple, Roku as preferred partners. Nvidia is my favorite but Amazon is the least expensive. Then you will have a good experience.

I have a T8 Android box. It is stuck in the boot cycle. I have tried a reset several times and still cagey back to the Android reset. Can you please tell me if there is another way to reset?
Peter thanks for the video. I have tried doing the reset but I can not even get the little android man to come up. TV just keeps saying no signal. I have the same box as in this video. I have tried on two different tv's with two different hdmi cables thinking it might be the cable. Have you run into this before? Thanks
Do you have a 720P set or a 1080P set? Try a 1080P set and see if it comes up.... plug it into your computer monitor, just to be sure.

Peter great video good explanation! However, my H96 Pro Plus( 3 months old) has the blue light on all the time and i can't get it to reboot. Also i get no display on the TV "No Signal". I tried factory reset as per your instructions with no result at all. Just wondered if you had any further advice or suggestions for me. i would appreciate any advice you would have regarding this issue.
Here is how I got mine going again ruclips.net/video/N5L4hvpsQnM/видео.html but it seems that this might be a salvage operation if it doesn't do anything at all. Have you tried a 1080P TV? Sometimes they are trying to output at 1080 and a 720 or 480P TV can not display it.

I have a used V9 a friend gave me and I am stuck in ‘To start Android, enter your pin.’ I have tried pressing and holding the reset button for so long my hands ache. Unplugged and held button and plugged in continuing to hold. It boots normally and puts me on PIN screen.
My box looks exactly like the one you have but can't reset it. When I plug it in all I get on my TV is a black screen with No Signal. I have tried sticking a pin in the reset and nothing happens. Since there is no power button I have tried putting the pin in the hole while plugging the power back in with no results. In any event, can't get it to reset. Up until today the unit has been working fine - only 3 months old. Any idea's?
