she is pushing a false narrative here. Answer me this, is it in the rights of a state legislature and governor to create laws to guard against political prosecutions in that state. When you are politically motivated in your application of the laws in a state, do not be surprised when politics comes back on your head. My advice to prosecutors would be not to do things for political purposes. You have a prosecutor from a heavily democratic district fishing for dirt on a republican president, over interpretations of what somebody said. Using a grand jury to fish. Then you have this media opinion person weaving conspiratorial thinking and people think this is fact and news. The sad truth is this lady is the opposite side of the same coin as Fox News.

The GOP seems to want "civil unrest & war." They are preparing for it: stockpiling AR-15s and other guns and ammunition; passing open and concealed carry laws without requiring a gun license, gun registration, or gun use or safety training. We are already in a state of war and don't even know it.
Think about the boiling frog story: it is a metaphor for the "inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly."

GW Bush lost the Popular Vote in 2000, the only reason he won it in 2004 was 9/11/2001.
They lost in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2020. They lost a Seat in the Senate, 3 State Governors and only ended up with controlling the House of Representatives by 9 on January 3rd 2023, because one of their members had passed away after being elected and the new House of Representatives actually starting. It's an open seat until a special election is held in their home district.
They lost the House of Representatives after 8 consecutive years in 2018 by just over 10 Million. They lost the Senate after 8 consecutive years and the White House after 4 in 2020 by just over 7 Million.
The Citizens of the United States of America are DONE with them pushing this Country BACKWARDS.
The latest B$ they're currently pulling in Red States is shredding the most basic principles of our Constitution.

What a wonderful tribute to Judith Heumann. ADA Accommodations have made a difference for ALL of us - from sidewalk curb cuts (strollers as well as wheelchairs) to workplace and school access. RIP. May her memory be a blessing.
Now updates are going in on every corner for the blind. Little bumps which now make it harder to get small-wheeled items onto the sidewalk. Judy had to leave a trail of activism in her wake because she had no children, this because she got a shot/vaccination which made her crippled. Welcome to the real world.
And Electric Doors with sensors so that all the disabled person has to do is drive up in their wheelchair and the door opens on some. Some you have to press a button before you get to the door..
The Registry giving out License Plates and now a card you hang on your rearview mirror.. Creating 🅿️ spaces for the disabled.. Although that gets abused by people who aren't even disabled but may have a relative that is and they use their car..
The film "crip camp" was spectacular and I assume it was Judy at the center of it. That occupation of the federal building was astounding. I loved that the feds cut the telephone access. Then the deaf kids signed their messages out the window to reporters. Bloody brilliant.
Wow ! There should be a higher power to tell the criminals that it is unlawful for them to fire any investigators in an effort to absolve themselves if criminalities !

First I saw her when she was reading the news about isolation of toddlers from their mothers, second when Susan had covid and Rachel was giving news from her house. At that time she tried to hide her emotional feeling by saying " There is someone is knocking the door, I will be right back.." She came back and no one was there. She tried to hide her emotion in that way. She is really my sweet heart.
Interesting she doesn't talk about the once liberated free women in Afghanistan? Maybe she ran out of tears? Wake up she gets paid to promote only certain things on her show. If I was getting paid millions I would certainly put on a good show for my intended audience too.

Thank you so much for giving a eulogy to Judith Heumann. I will admit that I did not know who had led the fight for equal rights for disabled people, and now I do. I also could be a 'poster child' for disabled people since I was born with a physical defect that has limited my mobility and sometimes my access to places in the world. It galls me when I hear the excuses as to why a person ought to be excluded from insurance because of a 'preexisting condition', as though that was a legitimate reason when that person could have been born with that condition. How much more preexisting does one have to be if one is born with that condition? That physical condition does not automatically mean that mental disability also exists in that person or that person cannot contribute to the world with their mind because the body was not perfectly formed. Again, thank you. We all need to hear these things.
I can empathize Simone. I was diagnosed at the age of 12 with a severe painful & crippling physical condition for which there is no cure. I've struggled ever since with just performing basic functions as well as with schooling and working. As I get older the damage to my body is more evident and pronounced. Today I am just scared that one day (soon) I will be denied medical insurance coverage. The cost of medications and surgeries involved are not feasible for me - I will not survive without coverage. Stay strong Simone! My thoughts are with you!
Thank you for your comment. I have much respect for people dealing with any sort of disability and the challenges they face in our individualistic "up by your bootstraps" philosophy. It seems to be a never ending fight, but I am heartened when I hear people like you stand up.
It is pretty crazy to think that at this point we have one party that essentially not only dropped access to healthcare from their platform, but is actively against it. We are going to have to keep up the fight because this group has shown they don't want anyone but themselves to be a part of society. Be safe and stay strong 💜✊
We have to be careful when we fight against the ableists that we don't demean or exclude people with mental or cognitive challenges with a mentalist or sanist argument. In my opinion everyone is on a spectrum of abilities, and perspectives. I've noticed wisdom and different perspectives walk hand in hand.
at 6 months old i became disabled; deaf. i still can't get treatment for my condition. and over the last 60 years other ailments and conditions have worsened my life. and that doesn't include all the other social crimes i've been subjected to.
i've been making a "fuss" about the injustice in the u. s. for OVER 45 YEARS! i've dedicated my life to it! anyone ever hear of me? no? its because the elite on both sides have ignored, margainalized and censored me. i've been exposing and standing up to fascism my entire adult life and all i have to show for it is a lifetime of misery and abuse.
i've sacraficed my whole life to the cause of human rights, dignity and SANITY! no one's singing my praises. not even a thank you from ANYONE for my life long commitment to human rights! go figure.

I am going to be 77 years of age at my next birthday and have worked steadily since high school. I completed my education at the Master's degree level and have been retired after using my brain and professional skills to give medical care to underprivileged and poor people for most of my life. Additionally, those who own those businesses are not losing money by a long shot! You are sorely mistaken if you are of the belief that those who are physically unable to climb stairs are automatically sapping the system. Walk a mile in my shoes before you claim to know my path.
People these days have no clue what it was like for disabled American citizens before the ADA and in the time afterwards, fighting to get it enforced - there was a time in this country when people were hidden from the public as if their families were ashamed of them - it's heartbreaking to even remember those days.

I have a neurological disorder and have been told repeatedly I am not allowed to live in this-or-that place, I'm not allowed to finish my degree (finished undergrad and some post-bacc, not allowed to take graduate-level or higher classes even though my lifelong goal has been to have my Ph.D.), not allowed to work (employers say I must have a job coach; I'm number 8,500-something on the job coach waiting list, which takes about 500 a year, so I should be able to get a job coach when I'm in my late FIFTIES, just in time for retirement).
I'm at the point of giving up. I can't do this alone. I don't have a wheelchair that people can look at and be proud to be photographed next to as a way to show off for voters how much they care. My disability is neurological. That doesn't get the media attention for candidates to get the votes. And because of the nature of my disability, I'm not able to speak in a way that attracts attention and support the way other people can. I don't know what else I can do. It's been decades, and I'm exhausted.
Persistence is worthless when you're persisting in something that can't happen.
