My neighbor here in Tennessee said, "Maybe it's time we did have a dictator." I replied, "Fine. Let's start with the one in office now." He became very quiet.

Yes and everyone who believes that there was nothing wrong with black peoples being bought or sold into slavery should find themselves being those who are treated as chattel. Everyone who thinks that women shouldn’t have the final say about their medical care and if it should be provided how they want it to be , they should lose the right of bodily autonomy themselves and have their healthcare dictated to them ! For far too many , until they are personally affected by the situation, they don’t seem to care, empathize or be able to find sympathy for those who are affected or suffering from any given problem!!!

I didn't see a lot of foreign voices chiming in on social media regarding previous Presidents, like they are this go-around. Certainly a few, usually friendly people.

I don't have nearly as much faith in America as Maddow does. I'm a BIPOC and my father grew up in the segregated Jim Crow South. Conditions have improved mostly in writing but not practice.
What? There have been huge amount of civil rights wins since Jim Crow.

Housing, yes. Lenders can not get away with denying a mortgage just because of race. Unfortunately there are still ways they can try to justify it by making it look like it is some other factor, but even that is getting more difficult.
Healthcare, yes. The Affordable Care Act made it possible for individuals to get insurance. It really was impractical for most people to get insurance that was useful outside of their employer.
Criminal Justice, still very much a work in progress. There have certainly been advances here as well, but there have also been some very obvious slides backwards. I still think it is more fair than it was in the 1950s, but there is definitely a lot of work still needed here.
Income, still a work in progress but much better than it was.
I am not saying that any of these things are at the point where they are no longer a problem. I am saying there has been progress and it is my hope that we will continue to make progress on all of these things.

Rachel clearly is outdated. She still thinks that an autocracy is a one person thing. Autocracy has evolved (devolved) into a conglomerate of Central Banks, powerful political figures and big money coorporations.
