Hi 007! You have to activate the continuous shooting function. First you have to enter Photo mode, it doesn't function in video mode ;-) Either you find it in the fn-menu. There should be a little square. Navigate to this square called "Drive Mode" and then use the scroll wheel on the backside of the camera. There you should reach "Continuous Shooting: Hi". When it is not set to "Hi" click the middle button inside the wheel and use the click on left and right side of the wheel to change between Lo Mid and Hi
If we do the math, 13.3mm X 8.8mm, then the Hypotenuse = 15.86mm. So why do they or reviewers are calling it 25.4mm (1.0 inch) camera? Is so then we should call the Sony A9 a 43.3mm (1.7 inch) camera. Why all the jumping around from metric to standard, when 15.86mm is not more than 5/8? Can someone care to explain why the cons, because may math doesn't add up to 25.4mm to be One Inch. Last time I checked 15.6mm will not equal to 1 inch. FYI: ATG, I and many other have seen the sensor and measured it. Clearly not 25.4mm.
ALGERIE Football Hi, for as if it is Sports, I will assume you are going to photograph moving objects in space also back and forth not only from left to right. This would mean it makes very much sense to work with continuous autofocus which is called AF C. I assume you are aware that blurriness inside the images themselves is not only influenced by the focus, but also by the exposure time. Exposure time, especially with sports, should be as short as the light conditions allow. Keep ISO in automatic mode. You could also work with the sports automatic preset on your rx10 iv ...
Thank you SSchnittlabor for pointing me to this video, it was very helpful. Have you tried 10 FPS on the RX10M4? Does it look just like 24 FPS on the screen/viewfinder?
Welcome. I think the M4 doesn't do 10fps. you can only choose btw. Hi, Mid or Low continuous shooting mode. no such tool to define precise fps. I estimate in mid-selection it is already down from HI 24fps to something around 5-7 fps. also no delay/leaking in the viewfinder so far.
Well, that's still something to be verifyed, maybe the user manual says like this, but my "inner watch" told me it's a little more slow than 10fps. also the amount of pictures and recording times in the video upstairs were not precise. Besides the micro-blackout in the beginning I didn't sense any delay, but the problem with this is, that I was looking through the display of a smartphone into the eye view finder while I was filming the continuous shooting sequences. I'll do some more test soon and tell you ...
I also have three more questions regarding to this close to $2,000.00 camera. 1. Why the still wireless flash delayed in IR and radio ADI TTL? 2. Why won't it work on ATG/CononMark/Interfit/Jinbei/Profoto TTL? 3. Why can't you adjust the Aperture and 24-600 Zoom using Sony Remote (software)? Sony has abandoned the Sony SLT-A99 and SLT-A77, CAN NOT get live-view to computer. Will Sony not going to make firmware for Sony DSC-RX10 IV to adjust Aperture & Zoom? Will Sony makes a Sony DSC-RX10 V so it can do tethered /or wireless aperture and zoom from 24-600 using Sony's Remote and View (software)? These are major reasons why many post-beginners, advanced amateurs & travel photographers are not buying /or returning it back for a full refund. It's so bad that Best Buy and many camera stores are not carrying it because Sony didn't listen to ATG and Sony fans.
@angelisone agree with most of your points, great I think you should pass on these questions directly to SONY. please let us know if they are answering. I am just wondering if post beginners and travel phonographers are really caring so much about TTL or the possibility to control aperture via SONY REMOTE. all I know about the RX10 iv you can find here: bit.ly/2ETqOvb and still beyond these critics, quality is a big improvement comparing to RX10 iii which becomes evident p.e. also here: ruclips.net/video/bN_SjL0JV8A/видео.html
S-LAB SSCHNITTLABOR, Sony has no reply from me nor ATG for over three years. Kenta & Mark have no clues. $2,000.00 dollars (don't forget to buy 3 or 4 extra batteries) for a point & shoot with a slow F4.0 is useless for low lighting or inside shooting. Even F2.8 is slow in my book.
ATG Sony RX10 III with ATG/Zeiss T* 24-200/2.0 (1 stop faster) Panasonic DMC FZ2500 because of the flex lcd & filter. But the ATG (modified) is a gem. 24mm all the way up to 200mm @ F2.0. Canon & Nikon 200/2.0 lenses go for $6,000.00/each.
If you will, you can call it like that. BUT this "video" is limited to 12 sec lenght with 24 images per sec. No sound recording, since each "frame" (photo) will be stored as single pic ... Nevertheless - this is really excellent!!
Thanks guy..!! Thats quite an upgrade..
yes, sensor and sharpness are amazing!
Where do you actually set it to 24 fps please? Is it on one of the dials or in the menu system or a combination of both?

angelisone thank you for this excellent question let's pass it on to the crowd
Hello, how to take the best sports pictures at night under average lighting, without having blurry images, is in AF C, AF S, or AF, ....

Hello , sports automatic preset on your rx10 iv , where i find it in the menu ??
I can focus on AF C and use A mode at the same time and can not use scene mode ??
ALGERIE Football set your left dial selector to SCN, then use the mode dial next to the movie button to select sports scene
ALGERIE Football you can use Spot scene together with AF C
Thank you SSchnittlabor for pointing me to this video, it was very helpful.

Right, Mid is actually 10 FPS, Hi is 24, and Lo is 3.5.
I like what you're saying. So, the viewfinder has a little blackout, but no delay?
Well, that's still something to be verifyed, maybe the user manual says like this, but my "inner watch" told me it's a little more slow than 10fps. also the amount of pictures and recording times in the video upstairs were not precise. ATG Sony RX10 III with ATG/Zeiss T* 24-200/2.0 (1 stop faster)

angelisone but the RX 10 iii is also equipped with an T* 24-600 isn't it? maybe i got you wrong ...
WTF?! Really? You can shoot video whit this camera in above 6k in cinedng at price low than 2000$?! Sony, are you jocking?! Red, done aside, xD

I also think it only does 24fps in JPEG and raw is not as fast correct?
Macht's doch in Deutsch
