- The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary reports that, as of 2019, there were 45,000 Christian denominations worldwide (bit.ly/3x62aVa). How can Christians all claim to read the same book and yet arrive at such vastly different conclusions about what it says?
Dr. David K. Bernard explains the three primary philosophies of biblical interpretation that have led to the formation of various Christian sects, while challenging believers to return to the faith of the original apostles.

That's right...Jesus never founded any religious group but established his church (Matthew 18:20) on that one indestructible foundation, of which He Himself is the Living Rock! (Matthew 16:15-18) and then sent his apostles/disciples to announce this good news to the whole world! The center of the Catholic Church is God and worshipping Him as taught by Our Lord. Why we pray to Her? Do you ask your friends to pray for you? James 5:16 says, "Pray for one another. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful." Blessed Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, is the most powerful intercessor for us to Our Lord, Her Divine Son. Our prayers will be answered more quickly through Her intercession than otherwise.
By the way, 'scripture alone", in which you believe, is a lie from Hell, because nowhere in the Bible it can be found and it is self-contradictory. It was created by Luther to justify his rebellion against the Catholic Church whose Head is Our Lord (Eph 5:23) and deceive ignorant people and lead them away to eternal perdition.
But yet still we’re separated by our human emotions. I wish one day IPUC, IPUL, UPCI and other oneness congregations get together once a year as one , since we all believe the same and teach the same and by doing this it will strengthen the body of Christ and be a blessing to this country and many others.

@Joe Young After the Great Warning (Rev 1:7) in which God will show everyone the true condition of his soul and the Truth, there will be no reason for protestant churches to exist. Some will repent and convert and come to the True Church, and the others reject God's Warning and will become apostate and followers of the Antichrist. This question is a good brain storming subject. The answer can be found from understanding Christian Ethics, above all study the Bible serious.

The Bible says that, there is "One Lord, one FAITH- which, in Greek can mean, doctrine, teaching, belief, or Divine truth- especially those of the gospel- and one baptism (Ephesians 4:5), but, because of our constitutional right to freedom of religion, people believe that they have the right to interpret the scriptures as they see fit, leading to the creation of hundreds of Christian denominations that contradict each other and the scriptures. The Bible also states, "that no prophecy (explanation) of scripture (writings of the Bible) is of any PRIVATE INTERPRETATION." (2 Peter 1:20), therefore, all scriptures have INTENDED meaning, so you can't make them say or mean what you wanted them to say or mean.
The scriptures are spiritually discerned, or understood, therefore, you must be Holy Ghost Filled in order to understand and explain the scriptures (1 Corinthians 2:14). 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs us to STUDY the scriptures to avoid shaming ourselves when we "divide" (explain) the scriptures. This means you have to do your homework in order to understand and explain the Bible. These verses, along with many, many other verses of scripture, allows us to know that there is a correct way and an incorrect way to study the Bible.
This was a very good answer. 45,000 denominations/organizations generally all fall under the 3 basic forms of Christianity: Roman Catholic/Orthodox, Protestant, and First Century Apostolic/Pentecostal.

@@hyeminkwun9523 Does the bible not say, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." 1 Joh 5:1-3. As far as I know, the Catholic church has their own set of commandments which differs from the original KJV. One of the commandments of God;s Commandments namely the 4th one, commands us to keep the Sabbath holy, but somehow the Catholic church changed that to keeping the Sunday holy. Jesus said in Mat_5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Who gave the Catholic church the right to change God's Law? O yes, the pope, because he thinks he is god on earth and can change God's Law. So did he change other Laws of God as well. Then there are the false teachings of Purgatory, child baptism, state of the dead, the Trinity teaching, that Mary is the mother of God, forgiving of sins by the bishops, paying for sins to be forgiven even beforehand, praying for the dead etc, Then you have the audacity to say that the Protestants are wolves in sheep clothes. The Protestant churches have also been mislead by the Catholic church's Sunday teaching so much so that most of the believers worldwide believe that Sunday is the day of the Lord. You point one finger at the Protestant churches but there are three fingers pointing to you. I hope your eyes will open before Jesus comes to collect the saved.
When he said that the tradition from 20 centuries is broken... in the case of the catholic church if a bishops live a sinful life... The fact that some members of the clergy lead a sinful life does not affect the teaching of the church. The personal sins of the members do not modify the doctrine, dogma, moral or teaching traditions of the Catholic Church.

The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation.(Acts 20:29,30) Jesus taught his followers only ONE religion, the true religion! Why do you have so many different Christian denominations? The Apostle Paul wrote " The Spirit definitely says that some will fall away from the faith paying attention to the teachings of demons." The Scriptures give many warnings concerning this apostasy from true Christianity.

@@kubanchetty2872 yes, God used William Seymour in a mighty way. After the Azusa saints received the baptism the Lord led them to the truth of baptism in Jesus' name and the Oneness of God. Just as some rejected the baptism of the Spirit, some also rejected the baptism and Oneness message.

I have a question. If Christ said that the gates of hell would not prevail against the church, why do you say restoring the church? It implies that the gates of hell did prevail by corrupting the church with false doctrine. It's the same argument that Mormons and JW make.

Bo Davis: Agree, the true church of Jesus Christ should not need restoration; I guess men who creep into the church unawares can try to do damage. It's been warned about that it would happen. But it's correct, that the Lord won't allow the gates of hell to prevail against His church.

God never thought so highly of an Apostle to name the church Apostolic pentecostal church..... if your pastor is a Reverend then ask him where a man is called Reverend.... one of the titles of God is Reverend Psalm 111:9.... a man shouldn't call himself Reverend. For me if churches are faithful to sctiptures and scriptures alone, then unity is possible even if theres diversity among tgem. It was well said of old in majors unity in minors liberty and in differences charity. To say that the only correct approach is the retoration group is tantamount to saying other groups are wrong, i also find errors in those group who say they are the only true restorers.

I am an independent Baptist and as you stated the ana - baptists did not protest against the Catholic church they just re- baptized the those that believed the Gospel and were old enough to understand it . Also we do not get our doctrine from the book of Acts but from the scriptures of the OT and NT ( the whole KJV bible ) but the Acts is a bridge from the Old covenant to the New covenant and I Cor. 12 : 12 - 13 talks about one body and by one Spirit are we ALL baptized into one body . ( this is not water baptism ) .

Many religions today because of wrong interpretations out of reading the bible of which the Roman Catholic Church is authorized for its interpretation.
If God allowed men to all have different interpretations of scripture, they He allowed it. We can't know why God allows things, and HE is sovereign and is in control. The onus is on men, what is truly in their hearts when they come to the hearing of scripture. How can people have a different interpretation of "love your neighbor as yourself" or "He is not here, for He is risen", or "Jesus wept". It's the many interpretations of christian and church conduct that causes divisions. Once, women could not pastor, now they can? What changed? The Word? NO! What changed was man's interpretation. "Oh, well, this doesn't really mean this, and of course, it could mean something figurative, not literal".................and here we go. Jesus' Word will not change, but men's ears will.

Our Lord said, "Whoever listens to you listens to Me. Whoever rejects you rejects Me and rejects the One who sent Me (Luke 10:16; John 13:20; Matt 10:40). Whoever rejects Me and does not accept My Words has something to judge him; the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day (John 12:48). You do not believe because you are not among My sheep (John 10:26) and I know My sheep (John 10:14)." Our Lord also said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I never knew you. Depart from Me, you evil doers (Matt 7:21-23)." These words of condemnation apply to protestant churches.
Open your eyes, brothers and sisters who follow protestant churches without realizing that they are wolves in sheep's clothing! Come quickly to Our Lord's Only Sheepfold, so that you may truly hear His Voice, know and follow Him and be saved (John 10:14-16). May God bless you and lead you to Him. Amen!
God wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the Truth (1 Tim 2:4) and the Church (not Bible) is the pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Tim 3:15). But, since God gave every man free will, He leaves every one free to choose (Sirach 15:14), to believe or not the teachings of His Church instituted for salvation of all until the end of time.
Mankind has been created by Jesus Christ, each one with lots of brainpower. God also gave His Word to mankind and if mankind is earnest about being with God one day, he will make a study of His Word and not depend on some pastor, minister, bishop or pope, for the Truth, as that is where all the confusion starts. Each one of them has his own opinion and ego, and they will stick to it. Some of them preach to gain popularity and others for financial gains and only a few to really teach mankind the real truth. This effort by mankind should not be a once off effort but a life long effort to discern between the false teachings, the lie, and the Truth. God has given each man his own will to decide for himself but God does not allow mankind to have different interpretations , as you have quoted, as there is only one Truth. Sin is all things against God's Will and mankind who ignores God's Law, will die because of it. Mankind cannot go wrong by studying the Word of God and follow what is being taught in His Word. In my humble opinion, mankind should start by reading the New Testament first to find out who Jesus is and what He taught and to realize that He is the Son of God and once they have done that, to read the Old Testament and by doing that, they will discover how every piece of the puzzle fits together to create the perfect picture of who God and Jesus are, and what the Truth is.

Kind of hard to any preacher now, one preacher says your going to hell and pushes it hard if your wearing shorts or short sleeve shirts , others say it’s fine. The Pentecosts of Alexandria even are getting bashed about men having long hair and beards on the platform? Some people say it’s in the Bible

well in Corinthians it does say it's a shame for a man to have long hair .. now the beards are spoken of in the old testiment . levitacus 19:27 . well the thing about that is it never preaches against beards. but it does say how men should have there beards .. men intodsys time especially who want beards in church aren't following what the Bible sais about beards . they shape them and trim them and have them a certain way. so in that sense it isn't following scripture. now u might say bashing but I don't believe they are bashing .. they have standards on the platform.. following the overseer is biblical . how he is being led by God and what he sees fit for the platform is his right and biblical to do . now can u stop regular members from cutting there hair no.. but peoell in the platform is held at a higher standard. if u want to be on the platform u need to pray and fast .. and talk to the pastor of that church and wait to be recruited when it's God's timing . but saying for instance me . if I said I don't believe a way that the pastor thinks shouldn't be on the platform. and I think it's wrong for him to tell me no . well I'm going against the man of God he placed in my life . and then in that sense I'm going against aceiture and doing it out of rebellion. thats witchcraft . rebellion is witchcraft. according to aceiture and now I'm against God for doing so . but no as far as long hair goes it's def sais its not for God or in a way against God because I will bring shame . I should follow scripture. beards .. are not necessarily against God but how u wear it is talked in the word of God . and most men are far from a biblical beard . and it's become more of a pride or look at me kinda thing . if u look into the root of it ..
I’ve seen many things, but I’ve also noticed that many apostolic church’s don’t stand on the same things. They all believe the basic core acts 238 and HolyGhost but some say it’s alright to wear short or long shirts or pants. And others say it’s a sin if your shirt goes psd your elbow

I’m talking about it’s been said that you will go to hell for it, but I’ve watched the preachers say it’s a sin if you don’t do this and that but see them at a church gathering playing Secular music. They preach about fellowship and said it’s nowhere in the Bible but have 4-5 services a week that last 4 to 5 hours long and it’s not because there’s a move of god
Brother, the Church will never be perfect while here on Earth.
But what we must not sway from the fundamental doctrines of the Bible, the Oneness of God, New Birth Experience, etc. - matters that are plain to read from scripture.
With regards to beards and shorts and short sleeves shirts, we must cling to the more modest standards. The Bible doesn't really condemn beards for men.

@@richardbruner8386 I agree with you. I do believe that it depends on the Pastor of the church and what he FEELS is the direction to go. Not saying he's wrong-it depends on what he stands for. I've been in VERY strict churches as well as very liberal one's . I feel we should stand for what the Bible teaches and let personal convictions remain personal. I do believe it's NOT a sin to wear short sleeves, although I used to wear them cause we were in a church that taught against it. There's no scripture supporting it-at least not in the NT. Then there's the pagan holidays issues. I've been in churches that were against them and am currently in one who sees nothing wrong with them. I DO wish holiness standards were CRYSTAL CLEAR in the Bible (like the doctrine of salvation is), as this would clear up a lot of confusion with one church against this while another says its ok.
