Which Old Testament Rules Apply to Christians? | Episode 63

  • The Old Testament includes various commands that most Bible teachers would say are not applicable to Christians. For example, Leviticus 19:19 says, “Do not plant your field with two different kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven from two different kinds of thread.” Most Christians would say these commands do not apply to New Testament believers. However, the same chapter of Leviticus also says, “Do not steal,” “Do not deceive or cheat one another,” and “Do not defraud or rob your neighbor.” Christians believe these teachings do apply to them.
How can Christians determine whether an Old Testament passage is applicable to New Testament believers, or whether it was only in-force for the people living under the Old Testament? Dr. David K. Bernard offers a set of guidelines to help Christians answer this important question.

There's still distinctions concerning outward appearance in the New Testament, although the emphasis is on God's spirit being expressed through the 'reborn child of God'. No matter how modest, any outward appearances and garments of any kind CAN'T ever make us holy. However, certain outward appearances and garments CAN make us UNholy..... Our outward appearance does matter.

Acts 15 was where we separated from Old Testament Laws. It seems right to the Holy Ghost and us (the Apostles!) that you lay no greater burden than this...
Which is why we also don't have tithing in the New Testament, only offerings.

    • @michaelwhitworth8214
      @michaelwhitworth8214 2 года назад +8

      Hi,
Tithing existed before the Old Testament Law given to Moses by God. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek. "Returning" 10% to God (for he owns it all, the cattle on a thousand hills and the silver and gold under the hills and every good and perfect gift comes from Him in the first place) is a principle unbound by time or covenant. 1st Corinthians 9 specifically cites the tithing of the Old Testament to show that the New Test Church should support the ministry. He could have cited the freewill offerings but He chose the tithes. Ministry should live of the tithes just like in the Old Testament.
      Two passages to consider.
Deuteronomy 14:22 KJV - Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Nehemiah 10:38 ESV - And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive the tithes. And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of the storehouse.
Also, Deut. 14 provides for converting the tithe of the crops and the herd into money for travel purposes before using it to purchase grain or animal again.
We of course do not live in an agrarian culture, the point however is to bring our first and our best to God, and for us it would primarily consist of money. My point is that converting the value of our increase to money has at least some Biblical precedent even if it is not apples to apples exactly.
Tithes and offerings are how we fulfil the command or admonition of Proverbs.
Proverbs 3:9 KJV - Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
And of course God loves a "cheerful giver."
Also Acts 15 lays a very basic foundation for Gentile believers in the face of Judaizer's and the formation of the early church. Acts 15 is not the only set of guidelines for believers, gentiles or otherwise. That would negate or ignore the rest of the New Testament, which expounds upon and clarifies the life of the Church and believers.
The Law of Grace and Liberty is greater than the Old Testament Law. Thus we are held to a higher standard (Adultery and Murder of the heart for example.)
Too whom much is given much is required.
In the end, better to be safe than sorry, and 10% is such a small sum in comparison to the 90% that God allows us to keep. With the same measure we give it shall be given to us. Also God blesses pressed down and running over. You cannot outgive God.
This is how I think and have been taught about this subject, perhaps it will be helpful in your consideration of the matter.
      With respect,

    • @geraldwelch8117
      @geraldwelch8117 2 года назад +3

@@michaelwhitworth8214 I've heard every one of these arguments multiple times. The problem is that they were done away with, along with the rest of Old Testament Law in Acts 15 (please read the entire chapter, as it literally deals with what parts of the Old Testament that Gentiles must follow)
And to be safe than sorry, let's give90% because "you can't out-give God" another non-scripture that is quite popular.
The fact is that you can't find tithing anytime before the 12th century except for a couple of times the Catholic Church mandated them to build cathedrals, after which the "tithe" stopped.
And let's not beat around the bush; the tithe that Jesus was referring to was specifically the Tithe of Moses so why aren't we following it?
Do you agree with at least a sabbath tithe the seventh year? If not, why not?
If you can change Moses' tithe on "common sense" then you must admit that you've CHANGED IT based on your personal preferences. Let's keep doctrine to doctrine and personal preferences to the individual.

      Hi,
I am not contending that Jesus reference to tithing in Matthew is extremely relevant to our discussion of New Testament tithing for Jesus spoke to them while they were still under the Old Covenant which he was in the process of fulfilling.
Also I am not sure exactly what you mean by the "Tithe of Moses." Moses imparted God's laws about tithing but the particulars of each tithe or distinguishing one from another is not so great an issue. The main point is that a tithe is 10% of your increase whatever that may be or mean. Again I cite Proverbs 3:9. How else can you obey that explicit command without tithes and offerings. And why should we choose a different percentage tthan the one God saw fit to institute and accept both before and after the Law was given.
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
when this verse was written it primarily referred to the Old Testament scriptures. So both he types and shadows are profitable as well as the moral law. The sacrificial law is done away with in Jesus Christ. Tithing is still a principle that bears application.
1 Corinthians 10:11 KJV - Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Romans 15:4 KJV - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Part of the reason we have Pastor's is to help flesh out the learning, profit, doctrine, etc. Of the Old Testament. In the end we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. However we must also Obey them which have the rule over us for they watch for our souls and after all it is at least not wrong to pay/return the tithe to the Lord vi and for the ministry.
1 Corinthians 9:13-14 KJV - Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
As to the Sabbath Year tithe, what exactly are you asking?
In that year the land had rest. It was just brought to my attention by an article that in that year the tithe would have been less.
However that was of course not the only year tithes were paid.
Deuteronomy 14:22 KJV - Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Lastly, Acts 15 which I just reviewed is primarily addressing circumcision and converting to Judaism before becoming a Christian. The letter the Apostles sent was not meant to be comprehensive (for example they do not mention stealing or murder) but rather they were mainly focusing on the debate or issue at hand which was adherence to the Old Testament symbol of being in Covenant with God which was circumcision. The Old covenannt was done away with and now it is our hearts that are circumcised.
Perhaps this in some way addresses your comment? As you can see I myself had some questions as to what exactly you meant.
      Respectfully,

    • @treygrogan13
      @treygrogan13 2 года назад +3

Pre mosaic law tithing was issued by choice of the person( I.e. Abraham and Jacob). Tithing is never mentioned beyond the gospel but Jesus was still living under the law. 1 Corinthians 9:6 says what so ever a man purposeth in his heart. We are instructed to support the kingdom but the tithe is never instituted into the new covenant.

    • @michaelwhitworth8214

      @@treygrogan13
      Hi
2 Cor. 9:7 is referring to a general offering primarily for the support of the saints and to express thankfulness, not necessarily for the ministry.
1 Cor. 6 is addressing the support of the ministry via an offering akin to the Old Testament system which includes tithes.
If Melchizedek received tithes of Abraham (free volition as you point out) and Jesus is a Priest after his order ought he not to receive them via His servants? Tithes are meant to honor God, by returning to Him the "firstfruits of all our increase at 10% to support the ministry. General free-will offerings ought to be a regular practice of Christians as well.
Regardless of whether or not you think a tithe is mandated by the New Testament Proverbs (Godly Wisdom) clearly commands to honor the Lord with our substance and with the firstfruits of all our increase. Why come up with our own percentage when God both before and after the Law was pleased to accept and then require 10%?
At least paying/returning a tithe is the "Safe side of maybe." It certainly cannot hurt.

When you first married, did you do it with someone from the church?
If so, that is your covenant you made with the Lord (wether you were a Christian or not).
Technically you are still connected with that ex-husband because you promised the Lord.
So best thing to do is either stay single or reconcile with him.

@sleeping7003 So when you are not a christian, and you do not believe and are not a jew,all of your sins, according to the law,all under the law still apply. But when you repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and receive Christ/Holy Ghost. Doesn't scripture say all things have been done away, all things have become new. That would mean EVERYTHING. No sin. As the Apostle says, you become a new creation In Christ. A new slate has been placed before you. Because now we are in Christ. All things have become NEW. WE are under the grace, new covenant, not old. Because of the blood of Christ. New dispensation. God bless

Jesus fulfilling the Law of God, did not nullify the Law, but instead proving to mankind that the Law is just and fair and that everybody can keep it. All Ten of the Commandments are still valid and if you keep it, will it indicate to God who your God is. The Law of God must be written on your heart which means that you will live out the Law of God because you love God and your neighbor and not because you have to.
Jesus said to His disciples that they know the Spirit of Truth, which is part of the Holy Spirit. The only person that the disciples knew for the last three and a half years of Jesus' life, was Jesus, and obviously referred to Himself as being the Holy Spirit that will come to the earth after His death and resurrection. The bible also teaches us that the Holy Spirit did not exist on earth until Jesus was glorified and took His seat at the right hand of God. I believe that Jesus is omnipotent and omnipresent and while He is in heaven, He is also in this world, teaching and comforting us. Did He also not say that where two or more are gathered in His Name, there He will be. Paul also said that the Holy Spirit, Jesus, will be with us until the end of the world.
There is not third separate Holy Spirit entity. The Godhead only consist of God and His Son, Jesus Christ, each one on His own throne and there is the counsel between them both, and not three. As God is a Holy Spirit and invisible, and Jesus being here now, God's power and presence is in Jesus who is in this world, and those who accept Jesus as the Son of God and Savior, God's Spirit and powers will flow through Jesus to mankind. So there is a direct link from God, through Jesus to mankind and mankind's own spirit can also link up through Jesus to God, which makes man one with God. It does not make man God, and for the same reason, does not make Jesus God, because He has this link with God. Man can also not go to God direct as Jesus is the door to God. Jesus Himself said on earth, that it was His Father doing the miracles and not Him. Jesus was also totally man on this earth and not God, that is being taught in some churches today.

What about Gods moral law of stoning your daughters if they marry and are not a virgin. The father is supposed to take and stone them to death. That’s One on Gods moral laws. Ist Corinthians 6 is not talking of dress codes. Also we are free from the law how can we be free if we obey it. The NT as I understand is about a personal walk with God where he will deal with each individual personally what may be a conviction to you may not be to others. The Bible clearly states that if you go back under the law. You have fallen from grace! That my friends would make you a sinner. I would love to talk more to you and understand your point of view. Grace is not a license to disregard God's laws(Rom. 6:15), so it's obvious that being "under the law" doesn't mean what you think it means.

Matthew 4 vs 4 : man shall not live from bread alone but from every word that cometh out the mouth of God. Genisis to Revolation. So, Revolation 22 vs 18, 19. You should not add nor take away. First we have to look at the phrase 'does not even nature itself teach you' it doesn't say look towards God look towards Jesus, nor the apostles or Prophets, the phrase is 'does not even nature itself teach you'. Were in the bible except here say we must adhere to the rule of nature, and in nature all I see is long hair. I have to say Samson let his hair grow because he was in a lifelong covenant with God to represent his people. Does the New Testament forbid anyone from making a covenant with God? Apostle Gino Jennings says that his abilities were given from God has he made a covenant with God to preach the word to all his thousands of followers. How many men in his church suffer from hair loss, so therefore they cut their hair down to the skin. Is wearing long hair a form of vanity, and if so why do you shave your faces and shave your hair real slick like, isn't that a form of vanity also? It shouldn't matter what you wear or how you look as long as you don't cause your brother or sister to sin.

It is amazing that you would say that the Love to God and your neighbor, referring to the new covenant, are all the things that specifically links to the Will of God, that needs to be followed, which appears in the Moral Law of God, the Ten Commandments, but when it came to the Sabbath, you quickly changed your view of the Sabbath that we should have a principle of keeping one day of rest, ignoring the specific day of rest that God rested on and gave the Command in His Moral Law to keep the Sabbath, the seventh day, and NOT the SUNDAY, the first day of the week, holy. He said specifically, Remember the Sabbath, NOT Sunday, which is the day mainly used by the rest of the world. If all the references to the other Commandments need to be specific, why not the Sabbath? It sounds like a split tongue comment, very similar to the teachings of the serpant, the great deceiver, satan.

Heb 8:7-8 finds fault with the first covenant, the second covenant is more excellent, better promises. Heb 9:13-14 shows the old law purified the flesh, through Christ it purifies your conscience" . 2. Muslims & Christians (Arabs & Jews)
have the same ancestry in Abraham
(Isaac & Ishmael or Sarah & Hannah)
      3. Despite religion leaning too much on
the genealogy & ancestry of the man,
Sarah & Hannah proved this wrong because Isaac & Ishmael had 50% genes from their mothers.
      4. Adam was not the first person created
      & Adam's father was not God(a spirit)
but a man who is part of the genealogy of Abraham, Jesus, Jacob, Ishmael etc.

in shrines who are revered & worshipped.
A shrine in the bible is referred to as heaven
      7. The bestowal of Abraham as the father of all nations is false because no man can be father of all nations . . .
efforts by religion to use force & lies by roping-in the unsuspecting will not succeed because the truth is forever & unwavering & lies are of the devil.
      8. Religion & traditions use dreams to make false & evil covenants with the unsuspecting.
      9. Religion & politics is about numbers but if religion is based on lies, then against eternal truth( one God), the numbers will crumble to dust!

Many ask their Priest or Pastor if speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is needed to be Saved and they say something like, "Definitely not." Or they think something like, "I don't think I want to get involved with that speaking in Tongues type thing, that's a little too weird and hardcore for me." They say that because they don't know about the following scriptures, or have ignored them. Please note the information below is not taught at any Catholic or Protestant Church, nor is it taught at any Catholic or Protestant Seminary School, or at any Catholic or Protestant Divinity School.
The following is some word for word scriptures about speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives utterance:
Jesus said in Mark 16:17,"And these signs shall follow them that believe, In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES."
Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost),"And it appeared to unto them cloven TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, and they began TO SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES as the SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE."
Acts 8:14-17,"Now when the apostles, which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John. 15 Who when they were come down, prayed for them that they MIGHT RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST. 16 For as yet he was fallen upon none of them, only they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. 17 Then LAID THEY THEIR HANDS ON THEM and they RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST."
Acts 9:17-18, (Paul's baptism) "And Ananias went his way and entered into the house, and PUT HIS HANDS ON HIM and said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto you in the way as you came, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, AND BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes that as it had been scales, he received his sight forthwith, and arose, and was BAPTIZED."
Acts 10:44-48, (Peter speaking to Cornelius and those with him), "While Peter yet spake these words, THE HOLY GHOST FELL ON THEM which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that on the Gentiles also was poured out the GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. 46 For they heard them SPEAK WITH TONGUES and magnify God, and then answered Peter. 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be BAPTIZED, which have received the HOLY GHOST as well as we. 48 And he commanded them to be BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD."
In Acts 19:1-6, Paul met 12 believers in Ephesus and asked them, 2 Have you received the Holy Ghost since you BELIEVED? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were you baptized? And they said unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. 6 And when Paul LAID HIS HANDS ON THEM, the Holy Ghost came on them, and they SPOKE WITH TONGUES and prophesied." Those scriptures prove that just because a person is a believer does not mean they are automatically saved, and just because a person is a believer does not mean they automatically have the Holy Ghost.
Jesus said in John 7:38-39,"He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly SHALL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER. 39 But this he spoke of the SPIRIT, which they that believe on him should receive, for the HOLY GHOST was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified."
Paul said in Galatians 1:12 that he was not taught by any man, but was taught by Jesus himself, which means that everything Paul said was exactly what Jesus told him to say.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:2,"He that SPEAKS IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE EDIFIES HIMSELF...."
Paul said that Jesus said in 1 Corinthians 14:21,"In the law it is written, With men of other TONGUES and other lips will I speak unto this people, and yet for all that, THEY WILL NOT HEAR ME, saith the Lord." Verse 39 says, "Wherefore brethren, covet to prophesy, AND FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES."
The following scriptures prove that when a person speaks with tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, it is at that moment the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in them:
Paul said in Galatians 3:27,"For as many of you as have been BAPTIZED into Christ HAVE PUT ON CHRIST."
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:22,"Wherefore TONGUES are for a SIGN (or PROOF they received the Holy Ghost)...."
Paul said in Romans 8:11,"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies BY HIS SPIRIT THAT DWELLS IN YOU." That is referring to being raised up to meet Jesus in the air at the Rapture which is referred to in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, which Paul also wrote. If a person has not been baptized in Jesus Name, meaning Jesus Name is invoked at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:17-18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16 - which all of those WERE FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN, (Acts 2:38) and has not been baptized with Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit, they will not have that Spirit that will allow them to meet Jesus in the air at the Rapture, and therefore not be Saved. All the above is exactly what Jesus meant in John 3:7,"You MUST be born again." In John 3:5 he said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God." Regarding Baptism - Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned." There Jesus links not being baptized with damnation. Being born of water is being immersed in water (baptized) in Jesus Name, being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost.
If you are convinced you need to get Baptized in water in Jesus Name and get Baptized with the Holy Ghost, do a search, type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll slightly down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, then a screen will show a Church nearest you that will do that. If you do all of the above you will be making SURE your name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life. .
No Catholic Church will do it because they condemn water baptism in Jesus Name and declared it INVALID in the New Catholic Encyclopedia Volume 2, page 66, the Catholic Encyclopedia, also in Catholic Catechism 232, 233, and 1226-1284, and also in Chapter 7 of the 16 chapter Catholic Didache. No Protestant Church will do it because they teach water baptism is not needed, but Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be saved, but he believes not shall be damned. "They also say baptism was not done in Jesus Name, and that it is a "Outer sign of an inner change", but all of the above proves it MUST be done in Jesus Name. Some say the Thief on the Cross next to Jesus was not baptized but Jesus told him he would be with Him that day in Paradise. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be Baptized in water in His Name until after he rose from the dead and just before He ascended into heaven. The Thief or anyone else at that time could not have done it because they did not know about it.
Jesus said in John 10:37," My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi, all of his preachings were from the Old Testament, Jesus was an Orthodox Jew whose disciples and Ministry ALL practiced Judaism,
Jesus lived and died and was resurrected and ascended to heaven according to the Law of the Prophets, EVERY Change was created by the writings of Paul and was NEVER approved by Jesus. Christians following teachings Paul are deceived by a false prophet. True followers of Jesus follow the OT as Jesus did.

The only law we will be judged by is the spoken finger written law of God This moral.law is the same law that Adam disobeyed THE only definition for sin is transgression of the law. When see tje word sin it means sinning against God IF we believe Adam sinned it must mean he broke this law. Because of this law being broken the Tree of Life was forfieted and because of obedience the Tree of Life will once again be restored to the obedient. Rev 22:12-14 TO say this holy law was only given to the Jews is nonsense. Was Adam a Jew. Gods law is for everlasting. Why did God give us a moral.law if He did not want it obeyed. This law is not a type of anything unlike others laws. This law reveals how to love God and our neighbours. IT is the only law we will be judged by READ Mal.3:16-18. Rev 22: 12-14 Eccl 12: 12-14 . This is all referring to the Law God gave to mankind personally on tje mount. It was in operation before Sinai Ex 5:5. Ex 16. Moses tried to get this Sabbath od rest for the Israelites and God reprimanded them for desecrating Him Sabbath by cooking on His Sabbath Day. People are trying to deceive Gods commandment keeping people as Satan did in thr garden that obedience was not necessary to retain eternal.life and people are still believing this lie today.

what about the man's traditions?? Why do we still do the same things the world does? Jesus said to the Pharasees they will die in their sins because of men's traditions, they didn't do God's commands, so why do we do the same traditions as the world?? WE Apostolics need to be separate from the world

🤔 SOOO... HOW ACTUALLY WAS "KEEP THE SABBATH HOLY" & "DO NOT EAT UNCLEAN ANIMALS" FULFILLED? ( AKA GOD CHANGED HIS MIND? ) 😆 WHICH WE KNOW... HE IS THE SAME, PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE. I SEEM TO HAVE MISSED YOUR ANSWER. OH YEAH, YOU SAID IT YOURSELF... "NO MORE SACRIFICING." ( THAT'S AN EASY ONE. ) NOW, HOW ABOUT SOME NOT SO EASY... OR PERHAPS TO THOSE WHO SAY THEY HAVE BEEN "FULFILLED" AT LEAST. SCRIPTURE SHOWING I AM HIMSELF DID AWAY WITH THESE WOULD BE GREAT. NOT OPINIONS OR HEAR SAY. I'LL WAIT...
    ( MATTHEW 5:18 )
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and ( EARTH ) pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the ( LAW ) till ( ALL ) is fulfilled. THE EARTH'S STILL HERE & KEEPING THE SABBATH IS WRITTEN IN STONE. UNLESS OF COURSE YOU CAN SHOW ME WHERE HE TOLD SOMEONE TO REWRITE IT & MAKE IT 9 OR PERHAPS YOU DON'T BELIEVE HE HAS MORE TO FULFILL WITH HIS RETURN. 🤷‍♂️

Respectfully, you’re using a lot of logic which Bible and logic never go together. You’re also making claims that have no biblical backing, such as abomination to us an abomination to him cause. You have no scripture to say that there’s a distinct difference between the two I know of no one that hates all sin. It’s not some thing that you’re born with. In fact you’re born with the opposite. And you’re also ignoring a multitude of scriptures, that tell you not to go back under the law, and it if you do you have fallen from Greece. Last point pants did not exist during those times VI the Pentecostal movement enforces that women can’t wear pants. I did not have pants in those days either. out that the word wholly is used quite often to describe causes, yet is being used out of context, and not by the definition biblically.

Slacks , pants or trousers typical of 99% of what men around the world wear in 2022 is called by the Holy Ghost who inspired the prophets as skirts see Zechariah 8:23 therefore your either wearing a men’s skirt or a woman’s skirt thus it is eisegesis to emphatically make the distinction the holiness movements have made on Deuteronomy 22:5 it doesn’t apply!

I want to point out some things that people seem to be missing. Let's start at 1 Corinthians 5.
    -
    1 Corinthians 5:1-2
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
    -
This is a man who committed fornication openly, But how do we know that a man "having," his father's wife is sin? Where is that mentioned in the New Testament? Did Jesus directly say anything about this? I ask that because a lot of people use that argument when refering to other types of fornication and sinful lifestyles. So where is it mentioned?
    -
    Leviticus 20:11
And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
    -
That's right, Paul pulled an old Testament law of sexual morality and applied it to the church.
This proves the Old Testment laws for marriage and sexual morality are still in effect despite some people's claims that Old Testament laws aren't for today. Instead of death as the punishment, they excommunicated them from the church. You can't claim to be a Christian if you marry your father's wife just like you can't claim you are a Christian if you practice any of the other sexual sins listed in those laws of sexual morality. Check out Leviticus ch 19 and ch 20.

The new Christians after Acts 9 is the church the body of Christ .
Kindly ask the Holy Spirit to guide you

Jesus came at a time when the whole world was full of sin, like in Sodom and Gomorrah's time. Jesus came to save the whole world, and not for the Jews only, but everybody, from being destroyed by satan and his angels. He died on the cross, for all sin of all people in this world, not just for the Jews' sin. The Law of God was also not given just to the Jews but to the whole world. Therefore, you need to follow the Law of God, as that is the only way to the kingdom of God, not because you have to, but because you want to. The first step however, is to accept Jesus as the Son of God and your Savior.
