Half of the review was spoilers, couldn't you have separated the island itself from the spoilers? Just wanted to see how tge DLC looked like, and left showered by spoilers
The character growth Jin underwent in this DLC was fantastic. The island itself was beautiful, and the new Mongol enemies were a respectable challenge to have to overcome.
FR! I am so tempted to get ghost and the DLC simply because I am burnt out from Valhalla. I was originally going to get Ghost before I got Valhalla, but the advertising for Valhalla made the game seem so much more promising from Odyssey, so I ultimately got Valhalla.

I'm sorry, I disagree. I find that the end of Iki's plot is rather simple. I mean, even if Kazumasa did not raised Jin properly, after all, he was raised within the bushido code. Hence, his honor conception wouldn't have enabled him to spare Tenzo's life. This is because (and over all in the actual times) all must be politically correct. And don't response me with: "No, the path of vengeance is a dark one" or "Jin's purpose is to serve his people even if they are the ones that killed his father. Then, WHY THE HECK HE DIDN'T AVENGED HIS OWN CLAN!? That's even pointless.

I just didn’t care for the fact that they seem a little biased on the samurai and Jin’s dad being these bloodthirsty invaders when the iki island resident were again mostly raiders and pirates who most likely did immoral things as well. I see it as Jin’s dad doing what he had to do as a soldier following orders and was told he was going against bloodthirsty raiders and did what he had to to win. That doesn’t excuse his actions on taking innocents just like the iki island residents we’re doing what they can to survive and defend themselves and probably took innocents themselves being pirates and raiders. but then again it’s been awhile since I beat the game so maybe I’m missing something. This game was able to hold my attention about 2/3 the way through the main game. It's a wonderful, beautiful game but it felt a little checklisty, especially after rescuing Jin's uncle. Like the game didn't need to be quite that long. Compare this to Breath of the Wild which I've played through several times just because there is so much in the world to mess around with. I should get back in to Ghost and finish the fight.
After the main game and legends mode, I honestly felt like I owed them money. So it was a pleasure to pay for this DLC. And the Q and A portion of the Directors commentary is worth watching as well. Lots of insight. Just a grand slam of a game.
I just finished iki island and it's one of the best DLCs I've ever played on one of the best games I've ever played. The story can almost be a stand alone game on its own and I really appreciate how they explored Jin's history with the island and going more in depth about Jin and his father.
I came to Ghost a little late having been hyped by TLOUII, but I totally agree with your comment on it being GOTY! Seeing this has once more given me reason to dive back into the world I love so much!
I literally just did the entire island and I loved it. However one thing, the "ghost" doesn't exist other than that one side quest its all the samurai, that isn't the problem even 90% would be fine but like it feels like all of Jin's character development from mainland tsushima doesn't exist, his fight with his uncle the lessons he learned from his companions doesn't exist he doesn't even acknowledge the fact that the clan was abolished or that he fought and/or killed Lord Shimura or that he killed the damn khan, kenji kept more of his old character development than Jin. Other than that this DLC is God damn awesome. Also I'm pretty sure they first, said that the yarikawa rebellion killed him and that "We hunted your father's killer and mounted his head on the battlements of my castle" -Lord Shimura So they literally just retconned that

Rarely has DLCs have the emotional investment to make you cry. If you cried in the main game, you’ll cry again on Iki. It has by far one of the most beautiful character moments for Jin that would simply move you to tears. The moment when he finally forgives himself of the past with his father and then the music kicks in is just so overwhelming and powerful. You never expected a DLC to add so much more to what was already perfect. The perfect DLC for such a perfect game. Worth every cent and hour.
I really love the Main game and i also loved the dlc but I really wish it was longer. Also despite being a big Fan of this game I think in some aspects it doesn‘t get on the masterful level I want it to. For example Most of the really emotional moments this Game had didn‘t make me cry because the dialogue in Ghost isn‘t on a elite Level like The Last of us 2 in my opinion. But all in all this Game is in my top 3 of all time and I just love it.
after the main game and dlc there is also than legends mode which is also cool i love to play survival mode it is so cool to get new and better gear and also skins oh my gawd
Finished it last night took me 25 hours due to completing everything on the map and stopping every 5 minutes cuz the game is just gorgeous you forget also how damn addictive the combat is its got to be some of my fave open world combat ever loved the personal nature of the story as well perfect DLC for an already brilliant game.
Man I wish I can delete some momeries on iki island I very curious want to know what extra content on the dlc Now I already watched this video and I already got spoiled, I wish I skip to the non spoiled section
Iki Island really is something else,I don't mind that Iki Island doesn't look that much different than Tsushima coz after all,do they even need to,The Eagle for me personally is actually the hardest boss I've ever encountered in this game, and that's saying something, she makes Khotun Khan feel like child's play in comparison and Lord Shimura a walk in the park, when she equips the staff that's when the real challenge begins, even with her sword she's still a handful, matter of fact the difficulty of Iki Island is definitely something not to be taken lightly and it really tested my skill even small groups of them can still be pretty problematic, it makes the Mongols on Tsushima feel so easy in comparison and it's amazing that they can switch stances on the fly and switch up the challenge that's presented, also my favourite armour in terms of practicality in this DLC is the Sarugami armour, seriously this armour is OP and as a result it made fights SO much easier and my favourite armour in this game in terms of appearance is probably the Unbreakable Gosaku armour mostly due to the colours you can equip it with and they really are some of my favourites 👌
Having recently played the DLC, I have to say I didn’t enjoy it as much as the main game. The supernatural elements were off for me. It just didn’t fit the main narrative. It feels like it was added just for difficulty check purposes to pad the running time of the DLC.
Idk why people think this game is so phenomenal it's ok. The samurai armors are wack af. They were lazy af with the masks just a bunch of color swapped masks some with damages..no creativity at all. Idk how multi-player has way better masks and armor. Multi-player is trash af too. This game is decent but not what it's cracked up to be
I was very disappointed with this game actually. Story was boring, the mc was uninspiring the protagonist sucked and the combat loop got boring fast. I also hated how every 2 seconds a fox or bird is telling u to follow it which was very immersion breaking.
I’m glad we got something that looks prettier than TLOU2 and doesn’t play like that dog💩. Naughty Dog needs to take notes from SuckerPunch for future games
You should play red dead redemption 1 dlc undead nightmare. Hands down the best dlc I ever played, and second Witcher hearts of stone, third fallout NV old world blues.
SPOILERS AHEAD The only real gripe I had with the DLC is where it fit in the story, why allow me to go to the island right after I finish the first chapter if it’s going to mention things that happen at the end of the game? I had to restart because when I upgraded the digital edition somehow my end game save was lost so when I showed up less than halfway in and they’re talking about the Khan already being dead I was mega confused why I was even able to be there. Same thing with Jin’s father, where I was in the story the flashback where he died hadn’t even occurred yet. Just seems odd. And then there’s the shrines that you can do special stuff at to get new armor, yet they all require armor you wouldn’t get until the end of the game to actually do it. I understand that most people will have already finished the main game before doing the DLC, but i’m sure there’s an amount of people that just wanted to dive in believing it’s a mid-game DLC expansion just to get majorly spoiled lmao.
@@Dadee3 Yeah it sucks, I mainly missed out on some extra side content that wasn’t exactly important, but still disappointing. Still remember it being very jarring that you could literally spoil the entire story for yourself by just playing the DLC you paid extra for. I had already played through the main game once, but man am I sorry for the few stragglers who decided to buy the director’s cut to get the full experience and suddenly wrecked their experience by the end of it, because once you go to the island (from what I remember) there is no going back to the mainland until the end.
Played this through the directors cut version of the game, i would have never purchased this solo because outside of the story the gameplay doesnt justify the extra 10 hours it doesn't evolve the game in any meaningful way. The horse charge is a shit addition and content wise its more crap filler you experience in the main game. The highlights of this dlc for me was the hidden side quests you can just stumble on that arent marked on the map but even then it just amounts to the same filler content you do throughout the entire game. I'm not surprised its being judged entirely on its story which was okay because its a sony game, gameplay and its variety or expanding it isn't the priority these days for sony or its fans.
The fuck? The gameplay in Ghost of Tsushima is freaking top notch. Like what grounded sword fighting game have you been playing? Playing this game on lethal mode is a dream. Also have you played other Sony games like God of War, Returnal and The Last of Us 2 on grounded mode?
Wow. Just wow. Found your channel after repurchasing Fallout 4 to play an actual RPG after the horrible experience of Cyberpunk 2077. Couldnt remember how to increase affinity with Strong so searched and found your vid. It was quality man! Immediately subscribed and checked other vids and found this one. So many people have weird opinions but after watching this (and already loving GoT, 1 of the best video game exp in my life) now I gotta jump on getting the dlc. Honestly, Noughty Dog and Ubisoft absolutely shou- no HAVE to learn from Sucker Punch in how to make DLCs and video games in general, for fuc**ing real
I really loved the flute minigame.. I'd love a kind of freestyle mode in the sequel, kinda like the hikus it would give you a moment to just sit somewhere pretty and play.. It could have a few songs with different difficultly but after completion you could just sit down and play..
I absolutely love this game and love watching videos on it. I’ve done 1 play thru of directors cut and I will def be doing another play through in a couple months. One of the best looking games on ps5 too. 10/10 for me.
Finally got to play the standard game over the last few weeks, my usual having to wait for it to arrive at a price I can afford. But even after a short play-through, it's just amazing. What a video!
Scenery and lighting is beautiful as always, too bad some of the textures still looks dog shit. they didn't even bother to upgrade the graphics in next gen version.
If they ever make a sequel to GoT, this DLC gave me absolute faith and trust in Sucker Punch to make an amazing sequel, maybe even surpass the first one. It’s just that good.

The moment when he finally forgives himself of the past with his father and then the music kicks in is just so overwhelming and powerful. You never expected a DLC to add so much more to what was already perfect. The perfect DLC for such a perfect game. Worth every cent and hour.
Definitely a better take than Kotaku's. Jeeeeezus.
Literally my only complaint about the expansion was that it wasn't longer.
Man
I wish I can delete some momeries on iki island
I very curious want to know what extra content on the dlc
Now I already watched this video and I already got spoiled, I wish I skip to the non spoiled section
The perfect compliment to the main story
Dark souls 3 has the best dlc of all time imo
I love this dlc but you must’ve never played the hunters nightmare dlc for Bloodborne. ❤️
Interesting detail before the dlc you see snow in kazamasa’s death making me think it was the snow angel after the dlc it’s wistaria flowers
You should play red dead redemption 1 dlc undead nightmare. Hands down the best dlc I ever played, and second Witcher hearts of stone, third fallout NV old world blues.
sounds like Sucker Punch copied Arkham Knight when Batman is infected by the joker gas and starts to hallucinate
How dare you sir, you didn't mention undead nightmare. One of if not the best dlc of all time
It's story very mportant for me, one of value in most ways
Idk bout anyone else but was ITCHING for lethal+ difficulty
Please try this game on lethal mode shit is ridiculously incredible once you master it…..?
Thought you were about to throw shade at the dlc, I was about to lay a smackdown 😑
Yes more games set in Japan please. The best non Assassin's Creed game ever.
Iki island is great, but to compare it to blood and wine. Idk
I think you mean THE BEST open world game!
Play at the end of the game or during act 2 I see people saying both
This and rdr2 are the best open world games in recent times
SPOILERS AHEAD
The only real gripe I had with the DLC is where it fit in the story, why allow me to go to the island right after I finish the first chapter if it’s going to mention things that happen at the end of the game?
*Good thing I haven't got the DLC yet, now I know to get it after the game. Thanks. But dang that sucks for you lol.*
@@CharlesM2 *Sheesh!*
When it comes to the Kahn thing, this could be interpreted as Jin simply bluffing.
So we don't worry about spoilers here huh? Great
truly cannot wait for ghost of TWOshima
You only play Ghost again ONCE a WEEK?
Could rival Undead Nightmare ?
I just went to iki without finishing main game
I like how he separate the spoilers to no spoilers. This is an in depth game review without any bias.
🙏🙏 gotta make sure we don’t spoil!
Wow. Your vids are very descriptive, informative, and easy to watch ( audio, game clips, no nonsense lol) Keep up the great work man, and I'll be checking your vids about new stuff from now on!!🤙🤘
I'm so not into sword fighting games but this game is amazing and Is actually getting me into these kind of games. I'm playing it right now and I'm in love with it! And yes very therapeutic.
Unfortunately I can't play this DLC beacuse J don't have playstation :( . I agree that ghost is the best game in 2020 with Hades which I highly recommend. And I would love to see the material The Witcher 3 in 2021 or the entire series because they are worth it
Honestly, Noughty Dog and Ubisoft absolutely shou- no HAVE to learn from Sucker Punch in how to make DLCs and video games in general, for fuc**ing real
I already played it though with 60fps update....so it's only extra island I've missed...is it still worth it ??
Metro exodus DLCs were great too. I actually liked them more than the base game because it was more linear, just like 2033 and Last light
0:41 the last of us 2: are you sure??
IMO ghost of Tsushima was robbed of game of the year last year.I’d take Jin over Joel and Ellie any day.
If they ever make a sequel to GoT, this DLC gave me absolute faith and trust in Sucker Punch to make an amazing sequel, maybe even surpass the first one. It’s just that good.
Anyone know when this is coming to PC? Really want to play but don't have a PS4/5.
I *swear* one of sequences from the main game are different.
Or am I crazy?
I'm probably crazy.
Iki island is amazing, but Old Hunters from Bloodborne takes my top spot for best DLC ever.
jayvee I know that it has nothing to do with the video but you think you will make a video talking about the assasins creed netflix series?
@jayvee I swear to God when you said this game is medicinal I felt what you said on a personal level help me get through stress.
I have not seen your Chanel before but great video definelty one of the most in depth reviews on this dlc and your absolutely right it’s my game of the year and the best story driven game I’ve played ever can’t wait to get all the trophy’s for iki island. Enjoyed the video will definelty watch more of your ghost of Tsushima content I also really hope for future dlc since as long as it’s related to historical events this game could expand over years
