Just gotta give props to Sucker Punch for not making this a game about getting revenge on your father's killer. Not even a side quest for it, Ubisoft is still scratching their head on how they got around that.

In retrospect, the story wasn't all that memorable, but at least it tried to do something different which is truly respect, and given a second chance (Ghost Of Tsushima 2??) I bet they could make a fantastic story alongside the gameplay.

Did the same but just with the wind stance. Something about the casual 'sword pointing down and to the side, away from the enemy' made it totally badass for me. Like, cuz Jin's no longer just a samurai, he's more, he doesn't need a traditional sword stance, just what he feels comfortable with.

This is actually what I did. Seeing as every other katana-using character (including shimura, masako, etc) uses the stone, it just felt right.
Also there's something about a simple but efficient style that makes me love it

I always used the water (I think) stance cause when you hold triangle it does a very satisfying quick barrage of heavy slashes that are decently effective at staggering enemies even if you're supposed to use other stances
Shimura uses Water stance, that’s how he holds his weapon.

As a person who only used Stone Stance to beat Ghost of Tsushima on Hard and Lethal. I can confirm you can beat Ghost of Tsushima using only Stone stance on Hard and Lethal Difficulty.

I beat the whole game, beat new game+, got decently leveled in multiplayer even, and 90% of the time I’m still using water stance unless the game tells me to switch stances, loved the look of water stance

I remember beating the game for the first time, and I only ever used the stone stance. It was brutal, and felt like a mountain. This video perfectly sums up that feeling.

I did that (mostly) for the first half but eventually I started mixing and matching (and switching stances at the speed of sound)
In my eyes.you beat the challenge... If you have zero control and are forced to use something. Then it's not your choice. (He did a very good job.)
I only used the water stance all the other stances are awesome but just being able to unleash a flurry of attacks is just amazing
I know some people use the stances all the time, but I never use them. My fighting style is about parry's and dodges so it never made a difference to me so when I saw the challenge name I was like "Is that actually a challenge tho?" Idk that's just how I play it. Good job tho it was fun to watch

Ghost stance is a stance, not on the wheel, but is actively referred to as a stance (mechanically it's an ultimate of course) but in my opinion, technical fail

Mostly played in high stance. Made myself a glass Cannon designed to destroy enemy posture bar as fast as possible and then one shot them with a finishing blow.
And playing Sekiro with Double ichimonji and no prosthetics.
Your dad's killer is actually in the DLC. Kinda cool they did eventually go into detail on that.

I tried this my first play through but the generals made me use the water one. The shields were too strong
It was more difficult than I initially anticipated. The spears were my biggest issue.

@@Literally___Me I think spears are easier to deal with than shield guys in general, but I found spear guys much more annoying overall with how their attacks work.

Funny thing I had a bet with my friend that I was only allowed Aron stance and had to beat lethal and lethal+ before he beat the game and I realized then how good stone stance was
I‘ve used only Stone Stance to beat the game on hard on my first playthrough too! Gameplay wise stone stance counter sword enemies, can thrust spear and heavy enemies, only the shield enemies were quite painful for me and I use bows or bombs on them. Lore wise the Stone Stance is the only realistic stance for a samurai with a two-handed katana, the anti-shield stance felt like a polish guy with a sabre and the rest two stances are stupid with all the kicking and stuff.
Ghost stance only. That's a real challenge. Assassination, tools, ghost attacks.

You can actually never use assassinate. The stab from hold triangle instantly kills unsuspecting targets
I would prioritise stances over others, if there was a shield guy around I would be using water, if there was no shield dude but a spear guy I would use wind, no shield or spear moon, and use stone on normal swords men.
Gets poisoned, punches chest, completely cured
I didn't know there were multiple stances until I accidentally hit T during the Ryuzo boss fight
