I definitely think you shouldn’t just have an iPad bc of the software limitations. If you’re going to get one you should get a laptop. Tablets are great but laptops can just do more but it also depends on what you need them for
I agree and disagree, because ever though the Laptops are great and have a lot of cool features, the iPad can be used for more that just school, it can be used for gaming, talking photos, drawing and many more! As for the laptops, it is very limited and you don’t get half of the different apps the iPad offers.

The battery life is superb, the landscape camera is a winner for me, the shape is suitable for my carrying case. My opinion is it depends on major . Like some need laptops to program etc so priority is to get a laptop maybe then an iPad . But other majors ( if you don’t program ) the iPad is enough it was docs,slides word etc and note taking abilities

the MacBook Air M1 doesn’t have a fan, so it isn’t loud! Alsoooo, it doesn’t really get hot + it’s result lightweight !! I’ve been using it with my iPad for 3 weeks now, and can confidently say that they both work SO PERFECTLY together!! if you can afford it, go for a MacBook Air M1 + an iPad with an Apple Pencil or a stylus :)

@@maefortea3982 IPad Air 5 is a lovely device . Although MacBook and laptops are different . It's upto you if u could just get by using iPad only . But using iPad is alot similar to using smartphone. It's kinda small if used with a keyboard for laptop typing experience. Typing is kinda cramped and app options and menu bar is kinda less.

I think both is the best, currently have a MBP but also plan to get an iPad soon. I’m studying both computer science and engineering and after using the MacBook for the past 6 months I can see it’s limitations. Because I’m studying computer science a lot there is a lot of life coding and lectures usually share there screen. since I take notes at the same time as watching the lecture split screening an entire desktop to the size of a phone screen is a little too small to read so I can definitely see sidecar to be a useful feature. Also with the engineering side there are some maths and content based subjects where you can’t type stuff out unlike comp sci. I struggled to find a balance between a paper workflow and digital workflow. I also find that if stuff is on paper, I probably never look over it again. So I think an iPad would help with that

Getting the 16gb of ram for a iPad is far too close to a computer whilst not actually been able to run full software. I don’t think the likes of Final Cut Pro or Final Fantasy XIV is about to be made iPad compatible.

No, researchers says that you learn much better through handwriting on paper than on an ipad screen. Also, reading books might not be a good idea on an ipad bcoz it makes you lack of excitement of reading because of the screen. You're also bias on the iPad. Ipad can't really perform well in programming and such so ipad is not a alternative for computer

The mistake is trying to use an iPad as a computer. It’s an iPad. The benefits are touch first things like a software keyboard ⌨️ that can also be used for playing instruments 🎹 🥁 in GarageBand. Muse, Quizlet and so many apps that make me wonder if it was not for college classes I would not need a PC and it’s only 10 or so apps that are useful. And the webcam on most laptops suck. And gaming on iPad is so much more fun. It’s replaced my console and I can take it anywhere with 5g to play with friends. and Mini-LED makes this a Dolby Vision cinema. Speakers 🔊 are much better than any 13-inch laptop, and typing on the software keyboard 💬 helped my fingers from getting carpel tunnel. iPad saved my life on that part. I don’t need a PC. My school 🏫 has plenty of computers for when I need a more reliable wired connection when doing tests and online tests.
The crazy thing is that the M series iPads CAN run MacOS. But Apple is afraid to port it over because people would just be buying iPads instead of Macbooks.

I like my iPad, it’s just so reliable and convenient, makes my life easier, and the big screen makes it better. I like taking notes for school in my iPad, with my diy stylus so I can also make my handwriting better, I personally like the iPad over the Mac it’s just better, convenient, and I can write hand written notes!!!! But it’s up to you to decide which you like best!!!

Your MacBook is overheating and “sounding like a rocketship” because you have it sat on top of a comforter. You’re making the exhaust system have to push through a thick blanket in order to cool itself. That’s like running a mile while breathing through a comforter. The performance is going to suffer you put it in a counter-productive condition.
I have a MacBook Air 2020 m1 and a m2 iPad Pro 12.9 and honestly im so tempted to sell my MacBook for an iMac because my iPad just works so well for me and having it alongside an iMac would be perfect if I need to use MacOS

The option to be most productive is to buy a GRAPHICS TABLET (60 $ or 50 €) and a Laptop. + Powerful shortcuts and programmes + better OS + handwriting notes + shortcuts at the same time => taking notes faster than on an Ipad. + efficient typing + ~ 600 $ for a decent office setup (including pen, mouse, decent laptop).

i think it depends, as a business student I don't think i need a sophisticated software so an iPad must be a better option for note taking reading etc

I could possibly have meant that paying for M1 or high chips in general doesn't make sense if you buy this for use like you mentioned. In that case I would go for other Ipad options.

I need a device for every kind of office work (excel ,data entry and updating records in company's website) . But I think iPad might be cumbersome to type on with a Bluetooth keyboard and I wonder if I'll get the same desktop experience in iPads safari browser (since the webpages now open in desktop mode) . Do u think I can do alot more stuff on a 500$ laptop ?
@@monurajput5608 Me personally wouldn't go for the 500$ laptop. I know I am a little bit privileged for having the money but I would always prefer grabbing a little more in my pocket to go for 200$ more or so to make sure it's not just going to work for the next 2-3 but beyond that. I understand if you can't afford that. Still I would take the laptop and not the iPad especially not for your usecase
The option to be most productive is to buy a GRAPHICS TABLET (60 $ or 50 €) and a Laptop.
+ Powerful shortcuts and programmes
+ better OS
+ handwriting notes + shortcuts at the same time => taking notes faster than on an Ipad.
+ efficient typing
+ ~ 600 $ for a decent office setup (including pen, mouse, decent laptop).
