I am a side sleeper. I found that creating a shoulder trench with my sectional couch has been amazing. I simply spread the 2 sections, 5 or 6 inches apart, then stuff a couple of pillows in the bottom for my arm to have something to rest on. 100% of the weight is taken off the shoulder and allowed me to get some rest. It is actually even very comfortable for my uninjured shoulder as well. I no longer wake up with a numb or tingling hand or fingers on either side from side sleeping. Sucks i have to sleep on the couch, but whatever it takes to get rest is worth it.

Had a R shoulder impingement ten years ago and was told the same thing! Putting a simple pillow under your arm certainly helped improve my comfortnd raising it with a few more pillows on your side also helps too. Creatinga trench .... yep, done that, and it too helps. Problem is that during the night while sleeping, I end up assuming my natural sleeping possition, which of coure results in pain which wakes me but if you can stay in our trench you might get a better sleep. Allthis is wonderful advice. Thanks

Many thanks for the sleeping options, as right now, sleep has been extremely hard to come by.

Hi thanks, I tore my roator cuff left shoulder 2 years ago, through your help, it has healed, and the pillow technic works along with the excercises you recommended. I have an ongoing problem with the back of my shoulder, just underneath it really hurts and can be restrictive in movement, sharp pain. My physio tells me its the rotator cuff ligament under the shoulder as recently fractured my T8 vertbrae which has gone into a wedge, but healing according to xrays. Left right now with more pain from the liagment feels like just below shoulder blade? PLEASE HELP? Kind regards, Mary from UK. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤
