THIS GUY HEALED ME FREE ON YOU TUBE!! I had a bad rotator cuff tear and the doctor wanted to operate. I wanted to try non evasive therapy first however money is short and I can’t afford insurance. I found this guy and his exercises not only gave me immediate relief to get through my work day as a baggage handler but in a few short months I regained complete range of motion with little to no pain at all!

Did you happen to have shaking when you tried to use your arm? I have a partial tear but I have shaking with my fine motor skills, applying makeup, eating, putting earrings in, etc. I’m really hoping this can heal me with me having the shaking.

I have an appointment with a sports doctor, hopefully they can give me a daily activity. I have a hard time sleeping, I wish I saw this video 6 weeks ago. 😔

I have been pain-free since Dec 2023. I am so happy I got a second opinion. My doctor kept saying, "They never sent you to physical therapy?." she couldn't believe it. Thank you for commenting. I fell over a gazebo guy rope at an event - warning everyone out there of the extreme danger posed by 'insignificant' left me virtually crippled in both arms immediately - now one month of extreme pain with every upward and sideways motion. Physiotherapy helped slightly as soft tissue damage was diagnozed by a sloppy healthcare professional. Off to get new x-rays since thanks to the incredible detail of your presentation and recommendations has isolated the actual problem and effectively saved my life - without usable arms overall physical and deterioration is inevitable. Can't thank you enough.

So thank you very much.

Hi Rose, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so glad to hear that you're finding Dr. David's approach helpful and that you feel confident starting with the exercises. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when other routines only seem to cause more pain. If you're interested, we do have a Rotator Cuff Tear Playlist that might be helpful for your recovery journey. You can access it here:
      "Rotator Cuff Tear Help"
      ruclips.net/p/PLJVIPiFvv1mbQ_-1YFfEePnrcxfwwf9_k
Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
And if you find these exercises are making a difference, you might want to check out our Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program down the line-it’s quite similar to our in-person treatments. Wishing you the best as you start your recovery!

Thank-you so much for your terrific videos on diagnosing and treating RCT, and differences between impingement, and tendinitis. You are a very good teacher, and explain it all so well. I am 56, and have had this condition for about 10 weeks. I have been doing stage one exercises for about 3 weeks, but the R.O.M in the affected shoulder is greatly reduced. When lying on my back that arm barely moves past 90 degrees when I am gently rotating it. The R.O.M is half what it should be. How can I improve and move on to cure this? I have not worn a sling, as I have to work, and can manage to compensate during the day, so I don’t aggravate it, while still functioning. Thankyou in advance from 🇦🇺Melbourne, Australia.

Thank you so much for this video. These are the only excersizes I have faith in after having physio that hasn’t worked for what I think is a rotator cuff tear (based on your video of how to tell if you have a rotator cuff tear) The physio I was given to do were the ones you said not to do, no wonder they didn’t help. Your initial excersize in phase 1 helped tremendously with the pain. I initially got the injury from repetitive strain in my work for 4 years and kept going for a year in agony then eventually got a steroid injection. My question is even though the injury is older and I’ve just recently had my 2nd steroid injection, will it benefit me to start from phase 1 and use a sling etc or am I too late to heal the tear?

😃👍 I fell November 20, 2023. My doctor said it wasn't the rotator and sent me to 2 mos therapy. Didn't help. Did the MRI. My doc now says I need surgery saying it is the torn tendon underneath (tripped over hubbies weights in the gym while videoing my daughter ... fell on my elbow and tore my mis-named rotator). Dr., should I not feel ANY discomfort in my shoulder when I lift the weight over my head (phase 3)? Should I feel NOTHING like the other shoulder, or just discomfort or minimal pain? I feel it (light discomfort/the detached feeling). Should I just do the pully and wall shrugs until I feel ZERO discomfort with weights, or should I do the weights if I can? (Side note: I can do 15lbs pretty comfortably with bicep curls, hammers, and 10lbs for kick backs). THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!💞💃

I fell back in September....stupidly stepped over the gas hose as I was filling my car and got my foot hung. Lots of things hurt after that but not so bad that I needed immediate attention. My arm was bothering me at first but did get a little better. To be on the safe side, a couple weeks later I went to the local walk in clinic that has ortho care just to make sure it wasn't messed up. But I had already began to sleep with that arm under my head a bit...it WAS getting better. So of course they have to take your BP when you go and that nurse took it on the arm I was having checked. She started pumping that thing and I wanted to scream!!! I told her it was hurting and her reply was "well that is the arm you hurt." .................ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Long story short...my xrays were fine but that place on that arm where the BP cuff was has continued to hurt and my range of motion has gotten worse ever since she did that. I may very well have injured my arm when I fell but she definitely triggered something else. Doing my own research it seemed like it was a rotator cuff issue. BUT I had been doing 3 of the things you said DON'T do and I have been getting worse. Last Thursday your video with the 3 worst and best exercises to do popped up. I watched it and started doing the Chinese cat arm thing that night and got a sling the next night. I have been able to put my pants on without pain for four days now. I still have a ways to go but I am a believer and wish I lived in TX!!

I am frustrated because my doctor sent me to therapy first that had me do exercise that made things worse and I finally realized I needed to stop that. I've watched all your other videos and it identifies as a rotator cuff tear, however I am already able to do all of the exercises reasonably well (I suspect just a small tear). Thank you Dr. David!! You are really great. I have 2 questions I really hope you can answer:
    1) is what you taught in this video appropriate for a 62 year old female?, and
    2) where does internal rotation and adduction, reaching the hand behind the back fit in with this?
My wife's worst pain is reaching bahind the back, and her ROM is worsening over the past few months). Should this motion be worked on, or avoided/limited, and will these exercises improve that motion as well?
ps - I am a PT in Maryland, but specialize in geriatrics. I wish you were local 😊

Lookup towel rotation stretch also shoulder cane stretch.
I couldn't reach my arm behind my back for awhile, those 2 exercises really helped

I received a work innjury 15 months ago cleaning outdoor windows for 6 hours, it wasn't in my job description but I didn't know that. I'm almost 67 and the physio treatment I wa s receiving hasn't fixed it, I've lost a lot of fitness and gained weight as my job was very physical, I have become a lot less active. My latest MRI conclusion says I have mild supraspinotis tendinosis, moderate subacromial bursitis and subacromial spur. I get pins and needles in my upper posterior shoulder, down my arm into my fingers. My shoulder is doing a lot of clicking and my physio had me doing all the exercises you said are no good, no wonder it hasn't healed! So I am now doing self managed physio from youtube, I have bought all the stuff. I never lost full movement but it causes a lot of pain and makes me feel generally unwell, often the day after a regular busy day at home just doing washing and cleaning the house. I now understand how pain is more than just the part thats hurt, it is a whole body malaise. Anyway I just want to be pain free again and do the recreational things I so enjoyed, like swimming in the sea. Do you think these exercises here are for me, thankyou if you have time to repsond. I really enjoyed your video on describing in depth that a rotator cuff injury is. I do not want to go down the surgery path.

You are doing great work doctor. I just have a question: how long would it take to recover typically?

I fall and broke my shoulder
Went for surgery and the put in plate and screws to fix the fracture.
It heals properly. Just before they took out the plate and screws I fall again and according to the Dr all the nerves tear of. Now they want to do a shoulder replacement. Do you think that can repair without a replacement?

Hi Doctor. Do these tips help with bursitis with the tear?

would you recommend applying ice & heat in the beginning stages? Also, what about the use of a theragun on the lateral, front and rear deltoid as well as the pec? Also, would you recommend using electrode therapy (Dr.Ho specifically) or will any of these treatment options reaggravate the injury?
