I saw this coming. Apple will make a great product in this category. BTW, the reason you are not seeing Optimus progress is because they don’t want to give it away knowing all the startups in this area. A joint venture would have an amazing outcome.
Re: Vision Pro. How many times in tech history do you need to be taught innovation in hardware only gains mass attraction with a “killer app”. There is no “killer app” for the Vision Pro. This was a no brainer to ensure that there was either wide outside 3rd party dev support before product release OR Apple developed an internal “killer app” for Vision Pro before release or best of all both.
Great insight! I totally agree with how hard it is to create a successful car company these days, however there were cars like Chevrolet, Chrysler, Fiat, ... that made it. Since about 1950 it's been a lot harder.

I use a iphone and applewatch and there great but homeautomation, siri, apple tv they all suck
Maybe apple can have certain users train the AI for a humanoid bot using the cameras on the Vision Pro similar to how Tesla uses the camera on their cars.
I have 540 shares of Apple and 275 shares of Tesla. Trying to reach 500 shares of Tesla.
Here’s the thing although Apple has encouraged its “ecosystem” it failed to recognize an AI across devices that “knows you” would solidify this. And in “in-home” tech Alexa/Google are wayyyyy ahead. Tim’s a great CEO for quarterly and annual growth but he’s not the guy for helming large tech leaps like the one we are now in/on the cusp of.
With an exception of the iPhone touch screen user interface Apple has not invented anything else but just polished and elevated existing devices and software. What else than iPhone Apple invented first and become a successful at? There were tablets on the marked well before first iPad. There where Mp3 Players on the market way before iPod, there where wireless headphones way before AirPods, there where Win PC way before the Mac. What else is Apple famous or successful at? There was a Vision set devises way before Apple. I got one for free from Samsung with my S7 Edge phone. Well the apple robotics will face same fate as Apple Car. Tim Cook is not a visionary. He is an accountant. And he does not have anyone like Jony Eve. You spoke well about a symbioses between a visionary / dreamer (Steve Jobs) and a doer (Jony Ive). Tim Cook is preparing for an easy retirement and only things he is about is to keep Apple at earning levels till he retire. Hopefully the next Apple CEO make better use of the cash Apple holds.
Apple will want in but they don’t have the tech staff to do it.
Cars and robots have many large, moving pieces and that's not Apple's expertise.

Apple never improved Siri, which was their first AI venture. The fact that they were unable to table an LLM enhanced Siri yet proves to me that they just do not have the right people or management to succeed in anything AI related at this time.
Tim Cook is a fine traditional manager, but he will never foster any new imaginative products.
The apple goggle glasses will prove to be a gigantic boondoggle.

As a long time TSLA shareholder...never had any doubt about Tesla's Future since 2019, this is my first time feeling lost and confused! No amount of FUD could have deterred me from holding TSLA long-term..... but important key men leaving Tesla at the same time???

There have been a lot of designers and engineers on the CT show boat circuit and they've said the car is done.
The other guys have done their part.
Also it addresses some of the Musk is surrounded by "Yes! Men" reteric.
These guys can retire knowing a job well done.
New people coming up to replace them just as fired up as they were when they started out.

Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs. Jobs was not an easy man to like personally from what I’ve read, but he was a visionary. While Apple has successfully iterated on design of iPhones like Versace handbags they totally fumbled Siri and early AI integration. The investment and then cancellation of the Apple car project proves their current inability to have a strong vision and focus for the company capable of understanding the landscape and leaping forward again. Prove me wrong Tim. Show us you can “Cook”.
