This 12.3.4 is FANTASTIC!! I’ve been using FSD since day one, and this is UNBELIEVABLE!! Everything that was driving me nuts with the previous version was fixed all at once! I Love this Car and I’m amazed by FSD (Supervised)

I went from 11.x.x right to 12.3.4 on my 2018 X. It was like a whole new system! Fantastic.

They probably bought a bunch of NVIDIA parts and are making an NVIDIA machine.
Umm … if Nvidia chips, it’s not Dojo.
Musk said cumulative $10B dedicated to FSD in 2024 - most will be in this year.
There exist too many opportunities for Tesla at present, if Tesla can get H100 or 200, that’s great.
I hear Dojo is more fall-back, bargaining chip.
Add in progress at SpaceX (& Neuralink), my head is spinning.

I notice H100 all of 12 months old. Blackwell considerable improvement, likely surpass Dojo cluster 10x?
(Claimed 10 exaFLOPS a per cabinet. Plus huge energy saving.)
Makes goal of 100 exaFLOPs look tiny (& achievable).
Since Elon clearly knows what the bottlenecks for AI will be in the near future, namely transformers and electricity, I wonder how he is planning to address them? Elon is always thinking a few steps ahead and probably already has a plan. There was a Tesla job opening recently that referenced a new type of data center. I am wondering if Tesla is working on a data center that is energy-independent from the grid. That would solve both problems but would require a large solar installation and Battery storage, a new way of energy-efficient cooling, and maybe even a novel way to convert waste heat back into electricity (heat pumps?). These are all areas where Tesla has expertise. This could give Tesla a huge advantage and could eventually be something else that could be licensed to third parties.

Six or seven years ago, Tesla had very little data; as their fleet grew, data and compute grew in step... maybe not perfect cadence, but in parallel. They didn't start realizing this year that they needed more compute! DOJO has been in development for several years. Previously, NVIDIA clusters were providing compute; the H100 processors, which came out only a year ago, and the A100, introduced in 2020, helped develop Software 2.0 starting at the 'photons in' end. End-to-end was the culmination of years of AI development and increasing compute demand.
FSD. Astonishing progress, however …
I’m not convinced it’s corner case data v12 needs, it’s still failing a bit on routine stuff, on planning, on situational awareness. Does anyone know why? (end-to-end NN is opaque)
It seems the march of 9’s is still in future.
Don’t push "banish" & car parks, get routine driving down pat. (Chuck had several problematic moments)

I think the problem with the grid - will be solved by decentralization. So with that, energy storage will be even more important. So i hope Tesca megapacs will be be o.k., but chinese companies are trying hard. And it will be a commodity, so margins will go down ...
I love my 12.3.4. But I want it to slow the *€£¥ down, accelerate and brake more gently, AT LEAST IN CHILL mode.
If compute is not constrained buying more Nvidia chip doesn’t matter for FSD training. Further chip buying is for Humanoid robots!

How can data derived from the driving/road experience be relevant to GAI, robots that willhave to deal with factories and people not roads and streets? I don't understand. Can you address this? Thanks, Ramsay
The process is the goal. The driving data won't be used directly for the bots. But the servers and the training process will carry over. If v12 solves FSD then that process will be used for the bots without spending years on v11, v10, etc. Elon saying they were no longer compute constrained followed by the widespread FSD free trial was the most exciting Tesla news in years.

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. 8:20 "6 billion not possible by end of this year Larry?" Why not? All we need are 415,000 Teslas to do 1,500 miles on fsd per month to hit 5 billion more miles. How is this not possible? Quite the contrary as there will certainly be more Teslas driving it than that. We will hit it by August!!! Be aware that your estimates on exponential growth estimates are inherently inaccurate.
Herbert, please pick Larry’s brains a bit more. Stop putting words in his mouth, let him finish. Listen and ask follow up questions not just presenting your own predrawn conclusions.
I really appreciate your channel and everything you bring forward but specially with Larry you’ve got a back of not extracting all he has to give and he’s got plenty.

Most likely it was spent on Nvidia chips, but yes, money for the Mexico plant was diverted to FSD training. Herbert and Larry covered this about a month (or 2?) ago.

Is it a form of fraud to spout of statistics about stocks, regardless about disclaimers asserting disqualification from being stock value advice? Would evidence of quantities of such value publication coinciding with huge offloading of stocks by insiders be relevant?
