    Getting the right travel sling could be challenging because you have to consider a lot of things like:
    1. COMFORT - Is it comfortable to wear? Is it too bulky when worn?
    2. SECURITY - Does it have enough cushioning for my phone/tablet? Does it have a hardshell case for extra protection?
    3. CAPACITY - Is it too small? Can it fit my laptop for my business meeting? Can it fit my water bottle?
    4. MATERIAL - Is it lightweight? Is it weatherproof?
    5. PURPOSE - Is it packable so I can use it as an extra travel bag?
    6. VALUE - Is it really worth the price?
    We know you have a lot more questions in mind, so make sure to watch our full review of the 11 Best Travel Slings!

    I recently picked up Alpaka’s tech case mini, which advertises that it can kinda also function as a sling, and includes a strap. I bought it only be to used as a tech case, and figured the sling option would feel kinda tacked on… but I gotta say, it fits/functions pretty darn well as a sling. The strap is super-minimal, no buckle for detaching it or anything like the vertical pouch, but the case itself is so light that it’s not a big deal, and the pocketing/zipper situation works really well in sling mode. Totally an option if you mainly want a tech pouch but like the idea of it doubling as a sling on a trip.
    Alpaka is sneakily killing it with these sorts of pouches/slings - love the feel and design and function.

    I love slings, I went a little crazy this year and tried at least 13 of them in various sizes. For travel they are great. My current travel one is an xpac tomtoc e21 which is about the same size at that evergoods one. I’d have picked up the evergoods in sage, but the strap length was a little short for me to wear on the chest, and I’m not fully committed to fanny style waist carry yet lol.

    You are the reason I bought Aer's Tech Sling 2. It's a perfect coffee shop companion. The bag is big enough to warrant some ventilation & I hope the next iteration offers some along with a step up for the internal materials & colors. If for some reason it doesn't get updated, I'm thrilled I got in on it.

      If they update this and give it just a *touch* more room for a 14” laptop, I’m in. The extra capacity and function of the Travel Sling 2 isn’t worth the extra $ to me - I want a bag just like this at under $100, I just sadly need it to fit my dumb work laptop.

      @@j.b.1903 I just bought the Travel Sling 2 at the holiday sale to use as a personal item for work travel and around town. :) I have to take two laptops for these trips, and while my Nomatic travel backpack offers appropriate protection, I get tired of the weight and lack of quick access in that bag.

    It’s not here, but I own the X-PAC Aer Travel Sling 2, and if you know you’re sensitive to pain from straps, do not buy it. I can’t recommend this thing to anyone. I used it to carry my laptop while in Japan, and I’ve never been in so much pain from a bag. I own a 14-inch MBP.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  7 месяцев назад

      Is this because of the build of the specific sling? Or would any sling/messenger have been as uncomfortable?

    • @j.b.1903
      @j.b.1903 7 месяцев назад

      Are you talking about the strap irritating one’s skin? Or back/shoulder pain from the carry? If the latter, I totally get it - I bought a similar sling as a minimal-carry-but-fits-a-14-inch-laptop option for work, and I’m at the point where I feel like, if you’re carrying a laptop for any appreciable amount of time, you kinda need a two-strap situation to avoid back pain. One strap eventually gives me back/shoulder pain with that amount of weight, and I’m not sure there’s a way around it.
      The only partial solution I’ve found-and this is main reason I went with the sling I did over the Aer Travel Sling-is to get a sling that allows you to switch which side you carry on. Kinda helps mitigate the pain after a couple days in a row carrying on one side. I guess you can kinda do it with the Aer by going one-strap-backpack style rather than crossbody, but the shape of the padding and the fixed end point of the strap prevents it from being carried across the other shoulder; the one I got allows the end point to switch sides, which does help things a bit.
      But yeah, maybe I just haven’t found the perfect sling bag yet, but I’m kinda feeling like it might be backpack-or-back pain when we’re talking about a laptop.

    • @GiorgiKTV

      @@Nomads.Nation Not only, for example, Tech Pack 3 is over weight as well, and when you put even just one laptop in side it feels like 10kg. Main compartment is super tight for everyday use, and it is getting very frustrating to use, shoulder pads are well padded but if you want to use it on one shoulder only, it never stays there always slides down, no grip at all.
      City Sling 2 - is also weird to use, you wont be able to let it stay front of you on the chest, always slides down. front pocket I don't understand, why they have bottom smaller than top.
      Again quality is perfect, I am not saying anything the build and everything. But the comfort side, Aer products are to over priced.
