      I prefer the YOREPEK Travel Backpack, Extra Large 50L Laptop Backpack. I've used for both local and overseas trips and it works great!. Has a USB port, is water resistant and fairly ruggedly built with a strap to attach it to your rolling luggage. I did add a cross strap to make it more comfortable for me to use but others might not need it. It has a 4.7 rating from over 44K reviews and only costs $28. $28 bucks!!

    I like these list type videos, I'm with you on that venture ready sling, I've tried a lot of slings and its definately my favorite small one. I also use a lot of single strap briefcase/messengers for everyday work commutes and also like a softer, less structured bag, feels nicer at ones side. It’s very snuggly and unlike other big slings the weight is super distributed .
    I just pimped it with wandrd pullers that you can purchase separately and are imho the best pullers ever !

    Thanks for sharing, Aaron! I always like seeing what you have to say
    My current line up:
    Laptop Bag: Tom Bihn Side Kick... OK, this only works with a Surface Go 2, or a GPD Pocket 3... But if you use either of those, it's great... Also doubles pretty well as a tech pouch, or as a day sling
    Tech Pouch: If not the Side Kick, then honestly just a good old fashioned Topo Designs Accessory Bag
    Dopp Kit: Also the Topo Accessory
    Daily Carry: I've also recently gotten into messengers... I can't decide between the Boundary Rennen Shoulder Bag (not the tote), or the Timbuk2 Classic... Hard to go wrong with custom options... These both do Laptop carry very well... Rennen maxes out around 13 inch devices, and the Timbuk2 has size options.
    One Bag Travel: Tom Bihn Addax... Either size is just right, and the top loading aspect and the build quality address concerns about both zipper integrity and metro security.
    Next bag I want: The Fyro... You got me hyped for it!

    Bellroy’s Venture line has been so great since day 1. I find myself so drawn to the hand feel of their products compared to solely choosing based on durability or textile strength alone. Also can totally relate to the love for the CAP2. Evergoods has a gem with that one.
    Lastly, I’m genuinely surprised Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L has not been updated more than 5 years later. It was an early favorite of mine, but there were some obvious and I thought easily fixable things that haven’t happened still that in my opinion hold it back.

    Aaron, kind of an odd time of the year for this video, but did enjoy it. Mostly disagree with you. Except on one category. I can only choose from the ones that I own, but do own a good number per category. Here's my picks:
    Best sling: Peak Design 3L. It just has a very unique form factor that really kills it for me. Runner-up 1: Wandrd Rogue 6L, for when I carry camera gear. Runner-up 2: Wandrd D1, when I want to wear as a fanny.
    Best small backpack: Topo Rover Classic. Minimalist, light weight, simple, badass look, very functional, even packable in a larger bag, can stow a laptop if it needs to. Runner-up: Aer City Pack.
    Best EDC Backpack: Boundary Supply Errant: it's just rugged, badass looking, and so versatile. Also perfect size for me. Can accommodate a camera cube and still have room for my essentials. Runner-up: Minaal Daily 3.0. This one was tough for me to give it to Minaal because I really love the features of this pack and versatility, but there's one thing that really throws me off. The side-handle on the freaking opposite side is a nightmare for me, reason why I tend to stick with my Boundaries, Aers, Evergoods, and every option that gives me a side handle on the correct side for me.
    Best personal item bag: Aer Travel Pack Small. I actually use currently the Evergoods CTB35, but it's risky. I have previously used the Aer Travel Pack 2 (big), The Heimplanet Transit 34L, and even the Thule Subterra 40L. Successful dozens of times on low-cost airlines. Unsuccessful zero times. Unlikely, but there's still a risk. You chose a tiny sling LOL.I need the space. Runner-up: CTB26.
    Best Duffle: Boundary Supply Aegis. It's just so good and versatile with the option of pulling out those backpack straps. Runner-up: Evergoods TD35. It has a unique form factor that has worked well for me, a very protective shell, and the option to stow a laptop.
    Best Tech Pouch: Aer Tech Kit v1 remains king for my use case. Runner-up 1: Evergoods CAP1 for minimalism. Runner-up 2. Alpaka Elements Medium (quite large). I use the small for everyday currently.

      You might like Troubadour goods (very sophisticated looking and business like. They have one called the Daytripper, it looks ace and feels well made but the inside doesn’t have great organisation and the pockets gape loads (laptop falls nearly 45 degrees inside). 100 day returns, no hassle, they were great.
      There’s a brand called 3 Peaks GBR. They have a weekender which fits the bill of laptop / EDC / overnight. Clamshell opening. But it feels much lower grade than the kind of thing Aaron reviews.
      Topo Designs global briefcase (quite techy/outdoorsy look).
      Waterfield Designs have some very businessy EDC bags, but they’re made in SF and import duties make them very very exxy. Could find one on eBay.
      Filson 24hr ?
      I love the 3-way flexibility of the Aer Flight Pack 3. Although do be aware - it’s orientated as a rucksack so you need to be OK with standing it up on its end if you’re going to carry it briefcase style predominately. Also doesn’t stand up on its own.
      It’s my pick tho.
      Hope you find the one for you.

    For 1BT, I need the space. So, the 35L Minal is my preference of those two. That said, the black interior is not optimal. So, the search continues....

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  7 дней назад +1

      Can’t go wrong with either. Let that front panel of the ATP3 decide it for you. I don’t use that so that’s why I prefer the Max, but if you like that extra organization go for it

    • @robertibeh
      @robertibeh 18 часов назад +1

      I have both, and prefer the ATP3 35L. The compression straps can slim it down if not completely full, and the extra 5L made a positive difference. Better admin pocket too, and water bottle pocket that doesn't eat into the main space of the bag.
      The one thing I prefer with the Able Carry Max is the loop to hang in public bathroom stalls. You can kind of manage to do the same with the ATP3 though.

    Wouldn't large travel packs and one bag travel packs be the same category? It's actually more likely to not take a 2nd bag, the larger your "main" one is.
    Also have you tried the PD packable tote? Packs about as small as the Day Owl, but is super easy to compress back in its pocket, handle has some padding and the material is super nice (as usual with PD) and doesn't look wrinkled even right after unpacking it.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  Месяц назад

      For One Bag Travel the goal is to be able to fit it under the seat in front of you so you never have to check it. But for larger travel packs you have to accept that some airlines will make you check it

    • @houserhythm
      @houserhythm Месяц назад +1

      @@Nomads.Nation IMO the goal is to not have to check it, but whether it fits under the seat or in the overhead bin doesn't matter. And a 45L bag will fit in the overhead bin. So yes, I've had to pay extra for it on budget airlines, because only a personal item bag that fits under the seat is included, but never had to check it. It's a bit more expensive in some cases, but except for that, all the convenience/time savings are there just the same.
      Oh and on most EU budget airlines a 30L bag is already way over their personal item size.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  Месяц назад +1

      @@houserhythm good points and I agree with your sentiment, but if the goal is to NEVER check your bag, then it has to fit under the seat in front of you. Reason being airlines sometimes run out of room in the overhead bin and will force you to check your bag (it's happened to me at least 3-4 times). Also, sometimes there won't be space in the overhead bins in your area, meaning you have to store it somewhere else on the plane, which creates extra risks/complications. Are these unlikely scenarios? Sort of. But at the end of the day they do happen so technicallyyyy speaking if you never want to be apart from your bag, it has to fit under the seat in front of you. It's the only guarantee.

      I went to Japan in May last year (2023) using my Lowe Alpine 40 L carry-on bag with KLM who had a 12 kg weight limit.
      I packed it with my tech, toiletries, reading materials and spare clothes just-in-case as family members and friends had had issues with luggage when international travel recommenced post pandemic.
      Lo and behold my main suitcase doesn't appear on the carousel at Narita, and I had to live out of the carry-on bag until reunited several days later!
      I'm going again this year using Emirates and they have a 7 kg weight limit for carry-ons. So I hope I don't end up in a similar situation.
