After having watched a lot of your packing videos, I would like to see in the future is to have the total cost of items that you have packed in loadout videos like this one. With awareness that we as the viewer could click on each item and visit your site and add it up individually, it'd be more helpful if price is included in the video beside each item or something of that nature as you have done in the past. Cheers.
You can check out their packing lists in their website. Pretty much everything they use show the items' prices and buying options. You can even create your own.
I think this would be a great idea, too! Sure we could do the math ourselves, but it would be interesting to see a final score at the end of vids like this!
Since you guys travel a bunch, please do a video on how you use cash/card overseas to avoid overpaying for exchange fees. Also cell phone usage overseas. Best solutions like using esims, etc. Thank you so much!
The Moment sling is one of my favorite travel gear. It might look small but it holds a lot and is super lightweight. I usually pack a foldable shopping bag (a Baggu), a pack of tissues, a phone, a wallet, lip balm, keys, and all the usual stuff.
I never liked the look and feel of slings on me because I have a big chest. They just sit weird. But I have grown to love the simple Uniqlo “moon bag”. I think it’s more of a crossbody bag but carrying it feels less restrictive for me than a proper sling. I only used it for 7 months so far and it probably won’t last years and years but I totally get why they are so popular.
4:45 The Victorinox Keychain Coupler is something I highly recommend when seeing someone take off some keys . I use it daily to disconnect my carkey from the rest so it does not dangle around while driving and also when I go for a run, I undo the car key and leave the rest in the car for minimal carry on the trail.
Wow, I did the same as my sling too by attaching carabiner for holding my water or extra stuff. The idea came to me when I went for a hike and forgot to bring the day pacķ. And it became a habits since then. And some of my friend even follow along using my style 😁
Your Packing Lists are my favorite. I hope you do a lot of contents like these in the future. Looking forward to your updated packing lists. I hope you also have something for those who need to pack for just 7kg especially if you're going to somewhere cold. I had a bit of a hard time packing when i went to Korea last month with just a carry on. :(
Tomtoc sling or alpaca sling - must have: flashlight, pepper gel spray, a compact folding knife (if not flying),small lotion tube, hand sanitizer, notebook & pen, phone, wallet.
I've been using a very old Lululemon fanny pack as my sling. phone, minimal keys, ear buds, and 2 small pouches, one for key cards, one for small amounts of cash. It's mostly don't-get-locked-out-of the home or office stuff. It's the perfect size and somewhat low key. Unfortunately, it wasn't made to be worn crossbody so the fabric unravels at the seams. I've handstitched a ribbon to the seam for reinforcement. I may consider a mini Alpaka tech case someday. I wore the medium tech case as a sling for awhile and loved it, but really needed it as a tech case.
I used to use a ginormous sling when biking, but I've gone a lot smaller with a simple one pocket sling pouch that fits about 0.5 L--means that I pack my tools and pump onto the bike in a bike bag, and basically just carry phone, transit pass and keys in the sling--so much lighter and easy to carry, and easier to walk around (assuming that hopefully no one will touch my bike).
Loved this video! Exactly what I was looking for :) I'm going to use a sling for the first time for an upcoming trip to Europe, and I was looking for ideas on what to put in it. Thank you!
I can't quite go that minimalistic yet given that I'm currently in Southeast Asia. I need a fan, an umbrella, and a water container on top of my other daily essentials so a tiny sling just doesn't cut it. When I went to NYC last fall, that's when I cut back and settled on just my wallet, my phone, a power bank, and my InCharge X cable. At the time, a Longchamp mini sling worked well enough for my purposes.
Was coming here to say the same thing. Surprised that neither of you travel with water. I get that NYC in winter may not call for it, but SE Asia or even Florida really requiresyou to carry water to stay hydrated. Would like to see a video for slings share you carry a refillable water bottle.
thank you, well pretty similar only that sling a bit bigger, so that a little water battle 250-300ml will be possible to put , when it is such a route, difficult to pick up a glas of water on the go, not good quality around or no time or sitting in an office waiting etc. And... when I use a day-pack - I just through the sling inside, without changing to a smaller bag ;)
As a guy my everyday stuff end up in poclets but i now yravel with a sling bag and live it - as alot of travel is in Europe a jacket is worn alot so the sling bag ends up under the jacket and under my arm and it has the 'usuak gear" in it . I usethe tomtoc edc slimg and it has been a capable descreate sling - very happy with it
The fouldable waterbottle looks so handy, but I have always open questions about the hygiene. How do you manage bottle hygiene? I used just half liter plastic bottles and refill them, but had to change them frequently because mould appears very fastly. Also my Soda Stream has this problem, so I use much chlorine with those bottles. A video about travelers bottles hygiene would be very interesting, especially for the thin fouldable ones.
One of the things that's become a "must pack" for me, especially post-covid is a buff. A buff is just a good thing to have whether youre going to a snowier or sandier climate, and it can double as a face mask or an eye mask if the need arises
My everyday carry is very similar to Tom’s setup. I also use the Bellroy venture ready sling and in the front I carry my orbitkey. Key organizer on the key clip and my car fob with and air tag attached on that side and the other side I carry my air pods pro and some sun bum lip balm. In the middle I have a medium sized hero clip, yellow in charge XL 6in 1cable, an anger MagSafe battery bank, a pen and maybe snack and in the back zippered pocket I carry my iPhone 15 pro with a spigen mag safe wallet attached and some spare cash. Wish I could still by the nomatic spray bottle for sanitizer but it’s been sold out for while 😢
EDC mindest has pop up a few times in my head, in which having a sling might resolve that issue. Currently searching slings from 4L to 10L to see what works.
I HATE pants with no pockets, and hate even more those with fake ones. I always make it a point to only buy clothes if I know I'll be able to fit at least my phone in on of the pockets.
If you have access to a sewing machine or have enough patience to hand stitch: learning how to add pockets (or even just one for the phone/keys) is a game changer! Granted, it doesn’t work on all garments but usually if there is a seam, there is a way :)
Ive just ordered an Osprey Daylite Sling in the Meadow Gray / histosal Brown. Not quite as organisational as the slings on this video .. but the colour is pretty.. 😃
I am tired of carrying a purse and default to the Lululemon belt bag but I am trying to find a sling that’s dressier that’s not going to break the bank. I like interior organization too. Any suggestions?
They’re both nice bags, but I’d prefer to have at least one compartment to have a double zipper pull or for at least two pulls to be close enough to secure a locking s-carabiner to. 🔒
I use TomToc ... front pocket - phone, keys, headphones, back pocket - wallet (+ passport when travelling), main pocket - foldable grocery bag (most used item besides my phone), tictac box with some pills I need, wet wipes (10 pcs pack), paper tissues, powerbank, USB-A to USB-C cable, sometimes small flat water flask from GSI.
Alpaka mini: Wallet, phone, earbuds, lip balm, Tom Bihn pouch with small dongles, cords, and adapters, portable battery bank if I’ll be gone awhile, and keys. A bit different if I’m traveling

Love that portable umbrella! You guys have to check out Anker's 3-in-1 battery bank. No need for a cable or outlet charger anymore ;D
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along.

That re-form wallet is slick!! Haven't quite seen anything similar at such a low profile.

Planning on getting my first sling for my my upcoming trips. The functionality is just too good.
Which one are you going to get? 🧐

Very useful, thanks. I carry a waist pack. About the same size and gets the weight off my shoulder. Your packing insights work well with these, too.
Thanks for watching! 😃
Thule have released a range of gear, backpacks and other small bags, would be interesting to see how you like them.

Anyone have recommendations for an alternative to the NOMATIC Refillable Spray Vial? It’s been out of stock for quite a while.
there's plenty of options of refillable travel perfume bottles, i'm sure one of those might work for your needs. i found one i use on amazon.

Can’t stand the Wet Look zippers on the Bellroy sling. Only reason I won’t add one to my Aer and Alpaka collection.
Same. I wish they’d change them.
If you don't have space for at least a 0.5l water bottle in your sling it is useless.

It´s a Fanny Pack!
Not in polite company in any English speaking nation (bar the US..!) it isn’t..!
Rebrand the fanny pack as "a sling" to exite gen Z 😁
It's a purse. Call it what you want, you're wearing a purse.
Very hipster. I'll pass.
Literally an advert for like 40 products
You know the word “fanny” has a specific meaning in the UK. And not one you would use as a brand name 😂
