appreciate that! We work very hard on our reviews so it's great to know they are delivering value :)
After carrying a larger sling on an overseas vacation, I was awakened to the joys of not stuffing my pockets full every time I leave the house. I have this sling in rust and it is my go to for EDC. Phone and sunglasses have dedicated spots in the main compartment, which zips from both sides. Back compartment is semi hidden and perfect for a wallet. Keys and AirPods go up front with plenty of space left for smaller EDC items.
It’s literally a game changer - pocket relievers all day
Been thinking of picking one of these up for a long time. Thanks for the review!
It’s a truly amazing product - can’t recommend enough
I agree with their straps being some of the best. I love how it compresses the bag when it's not fully packed. I have the bigger version and I fall in love every time I go back to it
hell yea 💪
That walk with the sunglasses was SO "stayin' alive" mood... 👍😊 GO AER😁
🕺 😂
I’ve been using this sling for about a year and it’s amazing. My favorite use case is amusement parks, Disney, universal etc.
Can easily be converted to waist pack for the rides that require it.
not an ideal waist pack, but I'm sure it gets the job done 💪
I tried the Bellroy amongst other and the Venture had a ton of great features. There were a couple of things I didn't like. I went with the Greenroom 136 Metrorunner and couldn't be happier. Keep up the great content.
Cheers dude!
Ok, I thought I was done and I love with my Sling lite, until…. This one lol! Love it! Love the size and it holds everything perfect. Again thank you! Loving this sling 🙏🏼
You have good taste ;)
Fantastic review I’m sold

@@Nomads.Nation sure did!!!! 🙌
Love this new "throwing" thing😂 Hope to see it more in the future!

Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it
I have the green colour one and I love it!! Btw pairs well with the memo bottle A6. Perfect for every day carry.
great to know!
Love this!! 🙌
cheers!
Another great review! Love my Venture Sling 2.5L, its is the best pocket reliever for sure. I pretty much use it every day, in fact it feels strange not using it and putting stuff in my pockets. Used daily, highly recommended. Agree the zipper pulls could be improved.
thanks!
I love the venture ready sling 2.5L I bought it as a Christmas gift for myself. Look forward to your reviews! As always another great video. What is the brand of the tripod selfie stick from your video? 😊
Merry Xmas! It’s a no brand stick from a random Asian market lol
Also my favorite small sling, I sort of need slings this size to have that sort of protective phone sleeve, and have the key leash in a seperate area altogether. Bellroy's sling strap mounting system is the best. I have the orange one, which has a nice dark brown strap. I normally don't prefer magnetic buckles on weight bearing straps, but the one they use here at least doesn't come undone easily for flat type.
Jelly of you having the orange - looks very nice
Roav foldable sunglasses fit perfectly in that front pouch.
cool!
agree the this was the top sling last year and that baida ripstop is a great fabric. Hate the glossy PUs and the dangling zips though.
it def has it's pros and cons
Great review as always Aaron! Been looking at purchasing this sling and I will use your link, keep up the good work. I got this recent fascination with Bellroy, I like the style of their products. Got me a venture ready backpack 26L for outdoor hikes and airplane trips (as my carry on bag). Also got the venture duffle 40l for gym. And thinking of adding this sling plus the toiletry bag to my collection. I think I’m a bit of bag nerd lol. Only thing I’m displeased about bellroy is, I don’t seem to find which material is the bag made of, like you mentioned each color is different material, and there’s a link to show you all their materials but the bag itself won’t say based on the color. Not sure if I’m missing it.
You won’t regret it! And yea, their website is annoying in that sense - not specifying their fabrics
My go to sling is the aer city sling 2 x pac, I looooove it
phenomenal sling
Nice review! Definitely considering this sling now! Btw, what's the brand and product name of the tripod you used in this video?
thanks so much! It's a no-name selfie stick I got at a random market in China. Basically the same thing as this - www.amazon.com/Extendable-Wireless-Shutter-Compatible-Android/dp/B07K5QVJV3/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=802YGTXNT12R&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pZc_qox07N83_TbdhtDTi-XfpBlC_0hy6CuTIZCrp0ZsD0rG_v9qtWhzaB99_ryotm2JjaB01OeC72_tpxtQ2bO1OtEQuRzHLDjgFjuSqDVFEuCJj6xPzNkmc_qESxpi_SxTHhEm8SEScQrYeVTnwOjfTxgjEPT3F9AODuGKhCFuNujoph8DT2Vxenv5X9aQEKzptf2BDDxDm_wkNDuZWPzH_3b80ZzcLv8mo1xCK18.LMMAWriMxcIIte3mwbqppw_JRtzBEXvbmkSW37Y0AM0&dib_tag=se&keywords=selfie+stick+tripod&qid=1714099458&sprefix=selfie+stick+tri%2Caps%2C558&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
This has been my go to since it dropped. It’s been everywhere and the perfect size. It will be hard for others to top this.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Love your reviews!! Which sling is good as a fanny pack also??
cheers! All slings can technically work as a fanny pack, but dedicated fanny packs will always work better as fanny packs, and dedicated slings will always work better as slings. The best fanny/sling I've reviewed is probably the Everygoods CAS, but it's a better fanny than a sling for sure
Nice review! I really like this sling too and agree with most of your points. I'm kind of bummed that the blue one (that I got) has more of a seatbelt style strap which is a little stiff and less comfortable than the woven straps that come on the other colors.
For the zip pulls, one trick is to tuck them into the loops on either side of the bag - they are long and chunky enough to pretty much stay put there while wearing the bag.
great call!
The best everyday sling, no discussion, perfect size, materials and comfiness, plus, it’s sleek! I used an AER day 3 sling until I discovered this beauty!
Agreed (as I’m literally wearing the sling as I type this on the train lol true story)
@@Nomads.NationHey Aaron between the Day Sling 3 and Bellroy Venture Ready Sling, which would you more prefer and why?
@@KelvinHew7 Bellroy. Better fit, more malleable materials, and a smaller sling overall (which I personally prefer).
@@Nomads.Nation I may revisit the Venture Ready Sling just for travel and the Day Sling 3 for daily work usage. Will see
Great work as always A! So with this size I’m seriously thinking; venture into the backpack AND sling life? What are your thoughts on the dual carry?
thanks dude! Not 100% sure about your question though - are you asking about carrying BOTH at the same time... 🤔
Yes! Carrying both a backpack and a sling at the same time!
@@kelvingalos9 for everyday carry? never. for travel? all the time!
My best sling ever. EDC and travel.
100% agree
The sling has just the right amount of padding to be lightweight, but still protect a small camera from knocks. It’s amazing with one of the new Fuji x100vi cameras!
Awesome to hear!
As soon as I saw “Bellroy venture” I knew you were gonna be in love
I do love the Venture series haha but this is the best product in the lineup imo
I am looking at all the alternatives you mentioned and this one, What i like about this one is... it seems the newest? and that may be dumb to consider but i just assume everyone is trying to one up competition, so do you want a old busted 2021 sling or a 2024 sling. But I do also like the look of the nano, and i like the one you showed with the umbrella spot in the back... this will be my first sling and I work from home, so its really more of a "I am going on vacation and want to carry stuff in it, sling". WWYD? sounds like you are running this one. so would it be the one to get... thanks!
yea I'd personally go with this cuz it's a softer sling and feels better/more comfortable
They have zippers on the sunglasses pockets on other slings but I don’t use it because I’m afraid the zipper will scratch them when I pull them out especially if it’s full.
Good call
I went from an AER Day Sling 2 to the AER Day Sling 3 and thought I'd found the perfect EDC. Then I tried the Bellroy 2.5.... I'm so glad I did! Its phone compartment is fantastic, organization is "just" enough, and the accessibility is top notch.
well said 👏
Nah, the AER X-Pac is unbeatable in quality.
@@candidobm love Aer slings in XPAC, but still much prefer the Bellroy Venture Ready 2.5
Hey Aaron! have you tried Bravo Sling Mini? It's fantastic for me.
not yet, but hoping to soon :)
More small slings need to have removable straps to double as a tech pouch when not in sling mode. My biggest gripe with the Aer Go Sling
I respect your opinion, but very much disagree (at least for my use case). Slings that are designed to be slings are more comfortable than slings that are designed to be both
One of my absolute favorites of all time! Two wishes though- no mag buckles and this would have been nice if it had been maybe 1/2” taller (for my emotional support kindle 😅)
as a kindle owner I get this
Either I've been watching too much of your videos but are some of your recent videos a re-review of the previous bags? Not that it's bad or anything, it's an interesting retake of things 😂 you're the reason I got myself a Venture Sling 😂
no re-reviews yet but a few coming up soon :)
What’re some recommendations for replacement zipper pulls? That’s my gripe with this sling, which I just received last night!!
not my thing to be honest, I'm very bad at being a handy-man or modding things, might be a good question for the NN Marketplace - got some serious bag nerd there 👉 District.net/nomads
Hello Aaron ! This was an amazing review, great job! Just one question, I always carry a 24 oz water bottle with me, I believe it would not fit inside, right ? Would it be uncomfortable on the shoulder to carry the bottle with a carabiner?
thanks! not sure about the 24oz water bottle, I'd double check with Bellroy (and please let us know what they say). And yes, it won't be super comfortable to carry via carabiner, but having said that it's also very doable, it just sort of bounces around a lot
@@Nomads.Nation thanks very much Aaron!
This is my favorite sling too.
But I keep my phone in the back pocket and don't even zip it closed, for quickest access. My wallet goes in the main compartment, cause months can go by w/o me ever opening it; I pay for everything with my watch so I don't need my cards, I never have any cash (I use maybe $100 worth of cash/year) so I end up going inside just for my drivers license when I happen to get stopped by police. Even calling it a wallet is a stretch - it's the smallest/flattest one zipper pouch I could find and I keep my drivers license and one card (for emergency cash) inside.
I also don't use the sunglasses pocket for sunglasses. I have ROAVs that pack super compact in their own rubber caseand that pocket gets all my tiny items, like telescopic pen, tiny flashlight, lighter, so they don't go to the bottom and make me "dig" for them.
Oh and I wish they had given the same strap that the others get to the blue one too, cause it has a more seatbelt like material, which isn't bad per se, but it's also very stiff. But I have to deal with it, cause I hate the green and orange ones and I didn't want a 3rd black sling...
thanks for your epic comment!
I feel line @houserhythm must be my sling doppledanger because that is exactly how I pack this bag out.
I love mine, only complaint is the floppy stretchy pocket in the main compartment; wish there was a more practical solution
agreed, not my favorite pocket
When traveling I wrap a Velcro cable tie through the buckle so it won’t come undone. I do this with almost all my slings and it makes it so the strap will have to be cut/ripped to steal it away from me
nice hack!
Very cool..only thing about some reviews like this is that there are a lot of photographers like myself that are interested in gear like this and some reviewers never talk about lets say potential "camera" gear..you might be able to put in these slings..a compact camera..Ricoh, X100 bodies?..for example?..I understand it's only 2.5L but at the same time I wonder if those compact cameras can fit this product..thanks..
thanks for your feedback! I don't get a lot of camera load out requests, and when I do they are all different cameras, so it's tough to know which ones are the most in demand
My favorite small sling too. Love the magnetic feature and if I’m concerned about it at a certain location I just wrap electrical tape around it. Easy on easy off
Good call!
Nice idea! I was thinking a matte black gaffers tape to decrease attention and not be a bigger target becaaause I’m trying harder to not get robbed 🤔
@@effys7716 seems a bit overkill to me but I'm stoked you guys are stoked about it 💪
Could you please advise if the material has a tendency to accumulate lint?
It does not
can you do the bellroy totepack review
coming soon hopefully!
Question: Does the strap dig into your neck when walking around? One of the things I hate about slings is how the weight of the sling pulls the pack down and pulls the strap into your neck. Such a thing makes long walks uncomfortable and makes the bag annoying to wear.
for me? no, not at all
As Captain Nitpicker, I’d like the bag to be 0.5L bigger and have a few more organization spots. Very good looking sling though.
You are very true to your title lol
I bought this sling the other day and weirdly I'm not finding it comfortable. Even though it's only 2.5l, the strap really digs in when I'm just wearing a t-shirt. I also find it weighing on my torso when around the front to be constricting. I'm 6'0", so not small and I didn't think this would be an issue.
I've never had a sling before, but do you think they take some getting used to? I'm thinking about returning it but I think it's such a cool piece of gear that I want to love. I just don't want it sitting around if I don't get much use out of it.
that is very strange to me, maybe you just aren't used to wearing slings? Comfort really varies from person to person, but all I can say is that if you watch my review and look at the comments, most people who have this sling are in love with it's comfort
@@Nomads.Nation Yeah, it might just be that I'm not used to it. It does seem like most people think it's extremely comfortable - could also be that my expectations were too high in terms of comfort though.
I got the bronze one which looks great but the material is not as tactile and nice to interact with as it is with the black/navy versions. It also feels like it slides around a little bit more when I'm wearing it because of the smooth material.
All that said, I think I worked out a great sling alternative for me. I also have the 1.5l black Venture Pouch that you reviewed the other day. I attached my Peak Design slide strap to it that I wasn't using for my camera much and now I have a secure sling that I can easily disassemble and turn into a pouch for my tech etc. when I have my backpack with me. I took it hiking the other day and it didn't get in the way or feel like there was any unnecessary bulk. It works like a dream and I love the modularity of it. I know it's not really an option for people because the strap is expensive on its own so I was lucky I already owned it.
I really do hope they release similar venture pouches with that great material but in more colours!
@@robertk2573 glad to hear it worked our as a great alternative sling for ya!
thats a cool looking tripod / selfie stick! What is it?
Got it in a random market in China - no brand haha
Can you review Alpaca Metro Sling? 😅
Hoping to soon!
I have this sling on the bronze! I love the material. Overall I love it, but I find that putting my phone and sunglasses in their respective pockets in the main compartment kind of takes up the space. I think it's really just my sunglasses that are taking up the space. I've considered trying other slings like the Aer Go Sling 2 because I'm a pretty minimalist carry kind of guy. Even 2.5 liters liters, I find I don't use much of that space at all.
The bronze looks awesome
@@Nomads.Nation something else to note. They offer this exact sling on a hip pack option!
@@brandonhayslette1393 yup! our review of that will be live in a week or so :)
Can't wait for the fyro sling lol
I Literally already have the whole thing planned out 😂
@@Nomads.Nation hopefully that doesn't take as long as the backpack though. Also hoping it's similar size to this 2.5L as I think that's perfect but slightly above my budget. £85 in UK, had it been £50-65 it would be ideal. My ideal price for backpack max is £150
@@mohammedfaiisal nah, it'll be faster
@@Nomads.Nation yeah, it could be faster but still take a while and I'm fine with that. I don't expect your version of the sling bag to be ready any time this year. If I'm wrong, then great. What's the ideal size you've decided on? 3L maybe? Or something bigger?
@@mohammedfaiisal can't ruin the surprise ;)
Now they even released the Lite belt bag! I'm having a hard time to choose this or the new one.
I saw, it looks very interesting

This looks like it would fit tight across the chest. I tried the Tomtoc T21 and returned it after 15 mins, when across the chest it pokes outwards away from the chest!
You can loosen the strap
@@Nomads.Nation sorry meant to say that I actually want it to fit tight against the body! That was my issue with the Tomtoc , it would continually point outwards from the body
What's the model of that selfie stick tripod? Tia.
Some cheap no brand thing I got in China. But the style is very common all over Amazon
I love it I just dont like the zipper tag thing it look so messy
You can replace the zipper pullers if you wanna get crafty
Off the path of slings question.. what kind of wedding band are you wearing? 🤷🏻♀️ looking for a wedding band.
Manly Bands - very happy with my ring from them
Thank you! I appreciate you and thank you for taking the time and responding.
Can you please review the Bellroy Sling/Sling Mini PREMIUM edition? There is literally zero good reviews on youtube as most people review the wallet premium not the bag or the sling. You can get all the audience for it when you be the first one. All the leather is also different based on colours.
send me one and I'll review it ;)
Margaret was bringing her A game slinging those slings.
Psh, she always bringing her A game 💪🏻

Isn’t Roy the secret identity of Roland from Rushfaster? I think I heard it in your podcast.
you're right... this is destiny
fits an ipad mini 6 ?¿?? thx
no idea, ask Bellroy customer support and be sure to let us know what they say!
I got mine today and it does fit but its a very tight fit. Without a case it can go into the tech sleeve compartment. With the Smart Folio case it can fit but in but not really in the tech sleeve. Either way you have to push it under the zipper to really close it and it takes up all the space pretty much as its forcing the bag to stay thin. I tested this with a passport and thin wallet in the back zipper. I've also tested the "Bellroy Sling Mini" and it does fit but its pretty much the same scenario/outcome.
If you don't want a big sling. The iPad Mini 6 does fit in the "Bellroy Lite Sling Mini" a lot better as its a bit taller of a bag but keeps the same small form factor. And gives a little more space than the other 2 bags to put more stuff in.
@@MysteryPianoMan thank you!
I absolutely love this sling, but I would be so concerned about that magnetic (less secure) clasp and the possibility of theft (someone ripping it right off me). 😬
I just feel like if a thief is that determined to steal you sling then nothing will stop them - a stronger buckle included
@@Nomads.Nation Wouldn't a dangle stopper elastic loop that can be slid over the magnetic clasp be the perfect solution to prevent theft? It would be always available when required in such situations and easy to get out of the way when not required. Possibly incorporate into the Fyro Sling?
@@paraagshah4153 interesting idea!
Looks like a pretty good sling overall. Nice size and rugged materials. But that glossy zippers look awful tbh and are the deal breaker for me. Don't know who approved that design decision... if they come up with a v2 without that flaw I'll get one fo sho.

Why does bellroy make such nice bags, only to destroy it with their logo smack in the middle which kills the streamline look...
Most of these brands do, good news though is that these letter have a tendency to fall off so it should be unbranded in about a year or so lol
@@Nomads.Nation lololol 😆 🤣
Why do sling bags even have clasps? They are completely unnecessary.
Interesting point, but I do love the convenience of being able to unbuckle it to take it off (especially with a magnetic clip)
This magnet hardware is far from secure = the major flaw of the sling actually… (((
In my experience, some accidental bumps while you're wearing your sling loaded with some valuable stuff in the crowd rush could lead to unlocking magnet hardware and the bag fall down = hapenbed at least twice with me already, could not trust it afterwards!!!! (((
To give you more details - when somebody in the crowd not intentionally bump on rhe magnet area to the direction where you unlock it intentionally - it will unlock!!!
And these kicks and bumps are possible in the crowdy surroundung...
so I've been wearing this sling for months now and while I see what you are saying it's possible, it's literally never happened to me ONCE
@@Nomads.Nation
I believe I was unlucky enough in the crowd once, where from one side somebody pushed me while from the opposite side there was an accidental bump on the magnet area = it happens rarely in the rush hour in the subway full of people where you just cannot escape dense body contact from all sides around you...
The second time I was playing with my own kids outside, and the effect was exactly the same = dense physical contact when I hold my 3 years old son on my hands so his legs or body pushes the strap of the sling against my body while my 7 years old daughter staying close to me accidentally hits me slightly within interaction in the magnet area on the same strap and boom = magnet unlocked and sling is falling!
Thus, it depends on your lifestyle = try kids or cats maybe and you see how it happens )))
@@yurytarasinsky627 got it, thanks for clarifying. No kids in my life so haven't experienced that type of physical contact in a while haha, cheers!
easy for theives and pickpockets
Possibly. What do you use instead to ward off the pick pockets?
@Nomads.Nation that question is my current pursuit, so far with all the slings I reviewed, the options I can I think of is
1) personally modify the sling based desired specs such as replace and relocate the buckles or allow local bag maker to do it.
2) look for manufacturer where they accepts a bit of customization.
