Thank you for watching this review! Overall it was quite strange for me to review a bag that I made, but I truly gave it my best shot to explain the bag while also assessing it's unique pros and cons. Let me know if you have any questions about the T22 below! Otherwise check out our campaign on Kickstarter - www.kickstarter.com/projects/fyro/fyro-backpack?ref=dtbsiv
You did an excellent job at reviewing it even though you made the bag. Honestly, it was so sincere that if someone edited out the parts of the video where it said you made the bag, it would sound like a normal NN bag review! Very good job!
You did a great job! But, yeah, you did seem a bit more nervous than usual 😂
@@AleB177 thanks so much! I was very nervous while shooting it haha so I'm glad to hear it turned out OK!!
@@lanceklein2746 I was haha!
By any chance slight design changes could happen? Personally, for me I would want the hatch lid to be bigger to make the bag looks bolder since its part of the unique design of the bag
This may not be a bag for me but congratulations on making your own bag. Wish you and your team all the success in the world
Thank you so much for your support!!
Day 1 of launch
Goal: $10,000
Raised: $250,000
Holy shit congrats dude, you deserve it!
what a whirlwind that was! But the work has only just begun - now it's time to deliver on our promise, which I will work relentlessly to do!
You have met your goal at least 25 times over. Congrats man! Sheesh.
@@Nomads.Nation I believe you! You are the most relentless Backpack reviewer on YT!
Suggestion: in another product category (wrist watches), when a content creator starts their own product line, they get other YT channels to give their reviews for less conflict-of-interest viewpoints. Congrats on an innovative product.
thanks for your feedback! And I TOTALLY plan to send this bag to other reviewers when we do a full eCommerce launch, just the nature of Kickstarter is tough cuz we literally only have one sample, and need it to shoot all of our marketing materials with. Thank you!!
Your honesty is really refreshing. Congratulations on the launch!
I appreciate that! Tbh this was one of the most difficult reviews to make
The fact that you did this - very upfront and honest - your whole approach with the entire process actually - is why I backed! I can’t wait!
thank you so much! It was crazy hard reviewing my own bag but I tried to be as honest as possible
Hi Aaron, great review and I thought it was a really honest reflection of something so close to your heart, not an easy thing to do. I thought I'd pitch in with a couple of ideas to address 2 of your 3 negatives, hope you don't mind the suggestions.
Idea 1
Self standing might be helped by thin but strong flat L shaped shims made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene plastic (this is what locksmiths shims are typically made of so very strong but flexible also). These would hold their shape well and aid in self standing when the middle section was empty or at least not fully packed out - if fitted in an L down the back and along the bottom of the bag while not adding much weight.
Idea 2
The gussets in the main compartment could be held together where the side seam is in the middle of the gusset by press-studs / poppers. That way you would have the support of the gusset most of the time but the ability to open the bag out fully for packing should you wish to.
By the way - Love the power-mesh and the orange interia!!!
thanks so much for your support and suggestions!!
+1
YES 🙌 🙌 so proud, can’t wait for a Gear for the Girls review!!!
Yesss please! 😀
I just realised you're Aaron's sis! Fantastic! You must be so proud! Congrats!
Ah that will be interesting 🤔
love ya sis!
Be brutal 😂
Absolutely amazing, have followed the journey right from the start, and can't believe it's finally here. It looks amazing, congratulations to all the team there, I'm definitely getting one. It ticks all the boxes for me, and as always I appreciate your honesty when it comes to the review
thank you for your support mate!! It was an amazing journey
Congrats on building an amazing bag… can’t wait to get my hands on it. Backing the project with no hesitation, loved watching the journey and absolutely love you honesty and explanation of everything with this bag…. ❤
Thank you so much for your support Lisa!
Congratulations man, I'm so happy you reached this milestone. Been watching you for years, and now I'm so excited to finally pledge for your awesome work! Can't wait to get my hands on it on new year!😁
its so awesome to have your support, thank you so much!!
Happy to see that it finally came true! Congrats to you and your team Aaron! Can't believe this will also be my first ever Kickstarter pledge! Registered just for this 😁
You absolute legend! Thank you for the support!
Order placed - Congrats on all the excitement Great to see your hard work being rewarded!!
thank you for your belief in us!
So wonderful to see this come to fruition, Aaron. I've been following your videos for a bit over a year now, and it's really great to see a bag designed, built, sold, and funded by enthusiasts of the hobby. I know some will say that the look of the bag is a dealbreaker for them--personally I think the look is one of the reasons I like the bag. It's unique. No other bag out there looks like the T22. I'm happy to support the Kickstarter, and I look forward to using it in person!
Thanks so much for your support dude!! And yes, the look of the bag is quite controversial… but we are very proud of that! It means that we took a great risk and it’s not going to be for everyone but we found a niche of people who love it and that’s what it’s all about - making cool products that work for a certain group of people ❤️
It has actually been incredible to follow your developent of this bag with perfection in mind. And then too see it succed brilliantly is a joy!🎉🎉
My heart is still pounding haha. Appreciate your support!
Love it Aaron! Congratulations 🙌
cheers!
Congrats! 🎉🎉🎉
Huge milestone!

Congratulations!! Been following you for years and the creation of this bag from the beginning. Just backed it and can’t wait to use it!
Can’t thank you enough!!
Congrats Aaron!
The bag looks awesome. It's been so cool to see how the bag has evolved and come together over time
thank you so much! 🧡
Congrats Aaron! I bought my Aer Travel pack Small and Aer City Sling 3 because of your reviews. You're one of the best Bag reviewers around and so glad that you're moving forward with your projects. You deserve the success.
Awesome! Thank you so much!!

Really excited about this bag, can't wait to get my hands on it!! Great job!!
thank you for your support!
Good luck man!! Looks great!!
thank you so much!
Thanks for making this backpack, and for the awesome review. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Everyday bag for the office but expandable for a weekend trip. Hydra lock is pure genius. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Ordered the Aer Full Cube and Small Cube as well cause it looked so clean in your review. Thanks again, keep up the great work and all the best with the Fyro launch, looking forward for all the things to come.
can't thank you enough mate!!
You rock once again!! I’m so happy to be part of the community that enjoy your reviews, your charisma, and your courage to undertake a project pursuing a dream!!
Thank you so much!!
Congrats! Wishing you continued success. You deserve it! Keep on with the genuine passion you’ve always demonstrated for what you do. Cheers!
Thank you! Will do!
congratulation on your launch and more to come !
💪🏻
Huge fan of the review. Mirroring what everyone else is saying it’s been awesome watching this journey of you making this bag!
thank you for your support!!
Congrats. Been following your progress. Bag looks great.
you look great ;)
😂 thank for your support!!
Hey Aaron, congrats on your KS! Absolutely crushing it eh? Really stoked bout the launch and can't wait for the bag to arrive!
Also, big big cudos for the honesty and showing all the little cons and potenial downsides too!
Really glad I had the chance to watch this whole thing come to life :D
so glad the review was helpful for you and that it came across as honest... because it was!! I really don't want to sell anyone this backpack, I just want to do what I always do in my reviews - help people find the right backpack for them
Congratulations on taking it from idea to reality. Not many people have attempted that or have the perseverance to get it to the finish line.
In a saturated and crowded field of bag companies and brands, you’ve managed to differentiate yourselves with this one. Very nicely done.
really appreciate that! It's a bold bag for sure, but I'm so stoked to have found an audience that is excited about it
Congrats on the bag launch and the very successful Kickstarter Aaron! So cool to have been able to meet you and test it early on in HK and see the updates/changes you made! It was already a good starting point back then, but the final version looks very refined, sleek, and feature-rich! Super impressed by the materials as well. A very well thought out bag from someone who truly understands the world of bags. Congrats!
thanks for being one of our early testers mate - your feedback was crucial!
Congratulations, Aaron! I'm thrilled for you and your team. Can't wait to see this bag in person. Bravo! 👏 👏 👏
cheers Martha!
Congrats on the launch!
appreciated!!
Congrats Aaron!! It came out real nice.
thank you so much! We are very proud of it :)
Congratulations Aaron! It's good to see such a big win!
feels incredible to have such a supportive community behind me
Just got mine! Congrats Aaron. Awesome work. 🙏
love it, thank you so much!
Great review of your bag. Even it's your bag, you still gave pros and cons and other alternative recommendations. Cant wait to get my hands on them in Dec/Jan! You're on a roll in your KS
Thanks so much! It was a challenge but I really tried to be as objective as possible
I LOVE that you show how malleable the fabric is! I've been waiting to see how it stands without so much padding. Diagrams don't do this justice. Amazing that it stands and isn't a pad brick! 🤗 Im so excited to get mine. I'm really quite impressed with the packing capacity as well. Congrats Aaron!🎉
thanks so much! It was very crazy trying to make a non-padded, self standing backpack, but I think we did a pretty good job all things considered!
+1 on this - I am glad you showed that the fabric is softer - I have the PD Everyday 30L and even though it uses the 400D version of Kodra as you stated, it's super-stiff with very little give. I tried to use it for travel once and it had 2 major issues: 1) did not allow for jamming extra stuff when needed (critical for travel IMO), and 2) forced to lie sideways across the top of my roller bag (for a flap-top bag that is insane!).
I basically vowed to never use it for travel again (although I still like it for EDC). I'm very happy the Fyro bag doesn't have the same drawbacks!
Congrats, Aaron! The pack looks awesome! 👌
thank you!!
Great bag Aaron!!! Wishing much success on this project.
Thanks so much!
Congratulations!! Proud of you and your team. Cheers. 👍💜👍
Thank you so much!
Congrats guys!!!
thanks so much!!
Congratulations Aaron, looks great. Got mine ordered.
can't thank you enough!!
This just got me even more stoked for backing this morning! I can't wait to get it!
thanks so much Brandon!
Your channel is my first go-to when I need to check out a EDC. It's bordering criminal that YT didn't recommend your channel more worldwide. You definitely deserves more subscribers. Congrats on your KS success and all the best!
Thank you so much for your support!
very well done, the bag and the review! also great video editing!
Our editing team is the best, shoutout to Margaret for killing this video!
The backpack looks beautiful!! Congratsss!!! The kickstarter is a success exceeding expectations! looking forward for more products from you!! a fyro ecosystem would be cool!
great feedback and thanks so much for your support!
Congrats, Aaron! Watched you review your own backpack. It was fun, must have felt surreal for you. This is my first time ever backing a kickstarter campaign and im glad its going so well for you and your team. Enjoy the moment, you all earned it.
Thanks so much for believing in us mate!!
I've been watching this video at least once a day since I found this channel recently. You should know that the Fyro T22 was the first ever (and possibly the last ever) product I've backed on Kickstarter. Looking forward to getting my hands on this and fingers crossed it arrives before my trip to London this winter!
A big gift from today was your 16-inch compartment. I bought it instantaneously together with both add-ons. Shipping before Christmas is ok by this type of product. You are a big lover of the details, and I love - it for me - and the way you are searching for these new undiscovered details with your personality and engagement. And your try to review your own fist child was very good and fair but not too fair to yourself. Congrats, this was very tricky but well done! Munich awaits it in Dec. Great experience so far with you, thanks!h
can't wait to hear your experience rocking this bag in Munich in the winter!!
All the best sir! Backpack ordered.
thank you so much!!
Congratulations on the launch, nice to see all the hard work paying off! Unfortunately I just bought the Peak Design everyday zip about 3 weeks ago and I dont think I would swap just yet. Anyways congrats for the launch and curious to see the next mission of FYRO!!!
Thank you so much for your support dude!!
Big day for NN! Congrats!
I have been trying to decide between the Aer City Pack Pro and Alpaka Elements Pro. Glad I held off and waited for this!
so are we haha! Thank you so much!
Congrats to you and your team, Aaron!
thanks so much!!
I'm here till the end because I love what you do. Keep it up!
thank you so much!!
Many congratulations Aaron It's been great to follow the development of Fyro, and the final product looks very impressive. I pledged in the first couple of hours yesterday! Go Fyromaniacs!
thanks so much!!!
Jesus, it's flying on KS. Congrats Aaron
crazzyy, thank you!!
I like how upfront you are about it being designed by you. I have been put off a bag review channel because of this. Bag nerds would know this but still honesty is appeciated.
Bag looks hot too.
thank you! My #1 goal is transparency - whether that means building a bag transparently in public or just being honest and upfront, it honestly pays so much in the end. Trust is everything!
I'm actually more excited for this after watching your own review on the bag! All the best for the campaign! 🎉
@Nomads.Nation - Also forgot to mention how well does the bottom part of the back panel hold up against belt rub? This was an issue on the Boundary Errant where the mesh would get worn away. Other brands such as Able Carry resolved this by having about 1-inch of non mesh material from the bottom. I think Boundary did the same in their revisions of the Errant.
thanks for your support mate! The double bonded lycra is very durable and should stand the test of time but it will obviously vary from person to person and how much wear and tear they put on the bag
Congratulations on the release on KS and for the in depth review. I can't wait to receive mine to try it out as my EDC/ travel carrry. I'm really interested in the hatch because, NGL, I'm not 100% certain that I will like it. Congrats again❤🎉😊
thank you for your support in us!
Aaron, first and foremost congratulations on getting this thing to the finish line! I can tell a lot of effort and thought went into this.
Also, though I’ve likely landed on my personal bag setup, I enjoyed your review and your honesty on your own product. It may be one of the only times on RUclips I’ve seen a review of someone’s own product that didn’t feel like an ad spot and following your exact same review format for your own bag really reinforced your integrity for me.
Best of luck with your new product, looks great!
appreciate your support so much, cheers!
just pledged for one! can’t wait to try it out, I’m not a tech guy but an anesthesiologist who carries a bag into the operating room. Happy you took the step and made your own bag, have been following your channel and got an alpaka metro bag recently to carry on an overseas trip.
thank you so much!!
Congratulations, very unique and very well thought out. Keep it up!
really appreciate that!
Congratulations Aaron. I follow NN and also the Fyro T22 journey from day one and I always enjoy your content. Of course I backed the T22 !
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Dreams do come true….hard work helps! Ordered , impressed, and excited !
Can't wait! Thank you so much!!
Congrats on the launch to the Fyro team! This will be my first over $100 backpack!
thanks so much for your support and really hope you like the bag!!
I watched this after backing the project. If anything, I'm even more excited about receiving mine now. I'm no digital nomad, but I travel a fair amount and commute between home and 2 different offices, and work out of both of them with a laptop, tablet and a fair amount of other tech gear. Presently switch mostly between an Aer City Pack Pro (that often days is too big) and an Aer Tech Pack 3 (that I like that it self-stands and eliminates a tech pouch but many times is too small). Really liking that this bag has a similar aesthetic but is still unique all to itself, and in general is in between the size of my two primary bags but can expand to the size of the larger one. Congrats on a very successful Kickstarter launch so far.
Thank you so much and it sounds like the T22 will be a perfect use case for you!
As good as all your bag review videos are, I definitely enjoyed this one the most!
Thank you so much! Reviewing my own bag was a challenge but I’m proud to have done my best 💪🏻
Congrats Aaron! Backed the kickstarter! 🎉
thank you so much!
Congratulations! This looks awesome! Happy about the optional water bottle system, as someone who doesn't often carry water bottles.
I'm with you, but it's great to have on those days you need it!
I like how the flexible the features are on this bag, you convinced me with this review, I’ve been waiting for this video 😂
I really like the multiple options for quick access: the hatch and back pockets since I don’t usually use external water bottle holders
The materials and colors are great, and being lightweight is also a great plus!
Looking forward to using the bag!
so glad you think the bags a good fit for you!
I’m looking forward to using the water bottle holder, love the orange/copper, the hatch looks interesting can’t wait to try. I’m so happy for you and how well it went in kickstarter.
thank you so much for your support!!
I'm in. Can't wait to get it. Congratulations Nomad.😁
🧡
This size seems perfect for a personal item on a lot of budget carriers in the US. I’ll be picking up to see how I like it plus to support you. You and Chase are my favorite bag reviewers.
Thank you so much for your support!
Congrats Aaron!!! Looks like the launch was successful - I don’t know what you were expecting, but I see a LOT of backers 🎉
this exceeded my expectations in so many ways, can't thank my team enough AND this amazing community for making the dream a reality
Congratulations buddy,
Well done in the review, very unbiased, in my opinion.
You have my pledge on kickstarter.
I look forward to having this bag for my edc work bag. I have a mix of office, on the jobsite and traveling around the country, should be a perfect fit.
Now the waiting game.
should be a perfect fit, thank you for believing in us!!
Congratulation on the success, you are so deserve it, very dedicate and enthusiastic energy from you in Fyro. Kudo to the way you did for communication and update the progress since day one.
thank you so much for the kind words!!
Honestly, I love the final product. If I end up replacing my Rucker or 24hr backpacks, I’ll give it a go! Congratulations!!!!
thanks for the kind words!!
Great review Aaron, you just did something that isnt easy for 90% of us! Honest review about something that you made !
It was a challenge for sure but I think it turned out as honest as possible - thanks so much!!
Big congrats on the T22 Aaron!!!
hell of a journey but couldn't have done it without the support of this community
Congratulations Aaron and team. Just bought a Nomatic backpack so it's not for me for now, but definitely will recommend it 😊
Thank you so much, it’s very appreciated!!
This feels like the perfect EDC/Carry-on bag. Thank you for taking the risk and making such a thoughtful bag.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! If you have any questions about the bag, please let me know
Aaron, I'm not in the market for a backpack but I love your passion for your creation. Good Luck and much success.
Thank you so much!!
Seeing you review your own bag was hilarious but also really helpful to get to see in depth the features of the bag. I love that you made it under seat size and expandable. It's the gussets that are making me waffle back and forth on ordering. Really cool bag, regardless. I'd love to see dimensions on the hatch.
Thanks so much! Hatch dimensions are 10" tall, 7" wide, and about an inch of depth 💪
The attention to detail behind this bag is unbelievable. It shows that it was designed by a backpack nerd!
(Also love the snap movements when you handle the different zippers and sections, oddly satisfying!)
Great job dude!
SO appreciated! It was a labor of love making this bag, but I think the team made something very unique and functional, and for that I'm very proud :)
Backed the backpack, after some difficulty on KS. Like its ability to mostly self stand, expandability & the modular water bottle holder. Congrats on the launch & looking forward to the T22.
thank you so much!!
Well done!!! Wonderful backpack, I’ll buy this evening. 🎉🎉🎉
appreciate your trust and support!
Congratulation Aron i'm really happy for your project
Thank you so much Fabrizio! 😀
My gosh this is so cool! I have been looking for the perfect backpack for four years now and religiously watched your videos to see if I could find it. I just ordered mine and am so excited. I don’t care about a backpack being clamshell personally so the gussets don’t bother me. If the gussets could be separated in half by zipper, Velcro, or buttons then people could have their clamshell backpack. You are so inspiring Aaron!🎉
thanks so much for your support and belief in us!!!
It has been amazing watching your ideas taking shape and coming to life, and finally making it to Kickstarter. Your attention to detail is spectacular, and this bag will be very sought after. Very brave and honest of you to review your own creation!
I would love to see a review of the Fyro done by your sister, as long as this doesn't cause issues between you! With some exceptions most things (not just backpacks) are designed for men, so to have a female perspective on the bag would be interesting.
I am looking forward to my Fyro when it comes, the only thing I'm not looking forward to is battling with that sternum strap attachment, I have wrestled with this design on another bag and it did not end well. Perhaps something to consider in a future version.
Thanks again for keeping your community informed and up to date and wishing you and your team every success
thanks for your support and suggestion - Gear for the Girls Fyro review coming soon!
Seeing it in video form I think it looks really good!
agreed! It looks great in photos but much better on video as it shows the completeness of the bag's character
I absolutely love how you reviewed this bag. Honestly, I can't tell you designed it given how thoroughly you reviewed it. No bias at all. I even feel you went harder at it than some others.
The flap for the hatch is making me doubt the design slightly. I'm super torn. I also really don't need another bag in this size and functionality.
But you really made a super nice bag. The flap for the hatch aside, the functionality this bag brings is amazing. Functionality wise there is nothing to critique. Nicely done!!!
My wife will kill me if I get another bag as well. Hmm
Also cool to see you got the 16" mbp mold :).
thanks for your support mate! Yes I actually think I did go a little harder on my own bag, but it was important to me not to seem biased, and I think it all worked out!
Self standing + gussets are awesome - good job man.
Glad you like them!
First off, congratulations to you and the team. I can’t imagine the effort it takes to design and produce a bag and then the feeling you’re going through to have the finished product ready.
This bag has a lot that I LOVE - materials, weight, self-standing (I like the gussets), the tech compartment looks amazing, the main compartment, I do dig the water bottle design, and the carry does look comfortable (and the vertical luggage pass through).
For me, it’s the Hatch that I don’t love. If the front had more of a Aer City Pack design (two compartments), or a CPL style opening I would buy it immediately. I just can’t picture myself using the Hatch successfully with my carry style. I think the security aspect of it is well thought, but the opening just doesn’t suit me.
I can see you’re doing really well on the kickstarter campaign already! Congrats to you, Aaron. Amazing work!
My guess is the vault is below the laptop somewhere. Maybe there’s a magnetic opening in the bottom of the main compartment the allows access to the space where the false bottom is for the tech compartment. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for your support, and good guess on the vault! But can’t say if you got it right or not 😜
