I hate that this kit is such a pointless money grab but is also used constantly in gallery builds, since I hate building and usually download something to use.
I like the kit BUT it was realesed only a few months before cottage living.
I like it because i cant actually afford the expansion packs 😭
@@CatWhoPlaysGamesOnYT ONLY?.... ONLY?
@♡theCatOnYT:D♡ $5 too much. If you consider the amount of objects in the kit, it’s pointless.
@@CatWhoPlaysGamesOnYT$5 is wayyy to much for what it comes with. 😭
Everytime i hear the word "Kit" my mind always goes "if you look, you're gonna find CC bundles that are free for you and you are helping a talented fellow simmer, not a millionaire company"
Those of us on console appreciate having any extra content that we can get. Not all of us I'm sure but many of us do because we don't have access to CC. If I could afford a decent gaming PC I'd download MANY CC kitchen sets because when you're limited on console, it's very limiting to build. For instance, we have SOO many counters with no matching cabinets and it's unfortunate. I use the same 2 kitchen sets with this set being one of them because they have matching cabinets and they're not from 6 years ago lol.
@@g.e131 i know the struggle of being a console player but I'm so sick of this LIFE simulation game without barely any gameplay lol
@@g.e131 I hear you, like my entire game is broken and I think having a pc would make it a bit better
@@g.e131this is the only reason I left my feelings about kits alone. Kits are mainly for console players. It sucks they gotta shell out 5-10 bucks a month on small sets but if they want remote variety then that’s what it is. I wish GameplayKits were a thing still
@@suan333 Oh I hear you on that and couldn't agree more! The Sims 4 is like a shiny new car with no engine lol. The shiny new car being the game itself and the non-existent engine being the gameplay. Not only do I feel like the gameplay is lacking VERY much so, but I feel like they've made this game geared towards way too young of an audience. Growing up with the Sims (before TS4) there was chaos, nerve racking moments, unexpected challenges etc. Now - we're lucky if we can even come across a situation that brings any repercussions whatsoever. There's no challenge. There's no consequences. There's no repercussions. There's no character. There's no chaos. There's no.... GAMEPLAY! The Sims 4 is too easy and too predictable with no "Oh crap, what am I gonna do now?" moments and not only that, but the game is broken with every single update, pack, expansion and patch. In all reality, this game is a headache lol. I just woke up and had some coffee, sorry for the rant lol but yeah, those are my feelings.
I might be alone here but I love the KIT. I REALLY want more kitchen counters AND matching cabinets in the game. I play on PS so I don't have access to CC. I feel like we have SOOO many counters that need matching cabinets added cause I always use the same 2 kitchen sets with this one being one of them.
Console user here as well. I like the look of both, but I can't always afford to plunk down $40 worth of PS Store cards for an expansion pack. The EPs are overpriced if you ask me, so I'mma just go with the kit.
you are not alone....I am a builder and love ALL kits :D
I hear both of y'all on that!
I wish there was a way to transfer everything over from console to pc. I would just tell you to ditch console & come over to pc. You don’t even realize how boring the sims really is until you start playing with mods, the cc is just a plus lol
@@nazjai9333This❗❤ I play on XBox and cant imagine having to download all the packs again let alone , start a whole new world and new people 🥺. Ima stick beside my console and cheats until they come out with a way to transfer to PC or access Mods / CC.
As someone who makes a lot of rustic looking builds, it's nice having both. I am not forced to stick to one style in every single build. The kit also has some swatches the Cottage Living one doesn't have, and vice versa, making one better for the build at hand than the other.
Really the worst part about this is they released the kit first and a lotnof people got it cause oh cute then the pack came out and it felt like getting slapped in the face
oh my god, it's near identical. holy shit they really are shameless!
Yes it's literally a shade away from each other, and similar design.
Whats worse is theyreleasedit BEFORE cottage living. If I had known cottage living was coming I would never havve wasted my money.
after my first pets stuff what else can you expect lol
In defense...the kit was released before Cottage living. I personally think the kit has a better cottagefarm vibe with the sink and open shelves. It also has some cute clutter items.
it was only released 4 months before cottage living though. i think they made they made both for cottage living but didn’t wanna give us two in one expansion so took some of the clutter out as well to bulk up the kit.
Which was ig business smart.. Like they knew they was gonna be putting out a country themed pack with country themed bb. Like they knew better not to release it after the expansion bc less people would get it
I prefer the Kit kitchen over Cottage Living's kitchen set too.
Nobody ever talks about how they made all the cottagegore people use money for this kit just before releasing an entire cottage expansion...
I agree, plus I love having the extra color swatches for the cabinets
or get them all for free 🏴☠️
real
Real
I came to say th exact same xd
Thx to anadius
FR
I got both and honestly I use both a lot, if you want a cheaper cottage style kitchen without paying $40 I would still get the country kitchen one, but if you want to spend that kinda money and get a bunch of cute cottage core stuff then maybe the $40 pack is for you
I still frequently use both in country kitchens because despite being very similar they each come with different country kitchen clutter items that can be used differently, I also prefer the kit over the pack in some instances because I love the look of the appliances from the kit :)
I have Cottage Living and Country Kitchen, I don't regret Country Kitchen and I think it pairs great with Cottage, especially with the extra color swatches for the cabinets and countertops
I don’t have the kit but I do have CL and I definitely prefer the look of the counters in the kit. I’d love to get it but it’s not high enough on my wants list to warrant spending £5 for a slight difference
I say it over and over. EA needs to be held accountable for their shit. Its disgusting what its become... I really wish people wouldnt buy any pack at all until EA finally adds freaking content and stops adding the same furniture in a lame recolor over and over!!
Yep if we all boycotted them they would get their shit together. There is a game though that is similar I think it is called pair something it’s not out yet I think
Same!!!
Country kitchen is 35$ cheaper though. While yes, the pack has so much more, not everyone can afford that. I personally love both!
I still hate I bought it but I actually do use the kitchen from the kit more than cottage living kitchen. I prefer the colors more, the countertop doesn't dye with the rest of the cabinet (THIS has always been a pet peeve of mine), the upper cabinets have more details & what really sold me were the appliances. I LOVE that little sink especially.
I just wish this would have been the set we got in Cottage Living or at least the other appliances in the expansion pack I'd be happy with along with the kits colors.
It’s one of the best sinks in the game. I probably wouldn’t have bought it if I had know Cottage Living was coming out in four months, but I do really love that sink.
I actually like the kitchen pack bc of the little cute dishes and stuff that come with them
I also love the stone floor (use it far too often), sink, and fridge
The cabinets are also nicer to me bc of the metal drawers they have 🫠
What's also really annoying with these is the swatches are really similar but not identical. So if I'm mixing the two cabinets to add variety, the color of the wood might match but one set has a blue cloth and the other will be yellow and it's so freaking frustrating that we can't pick the color of the wood and the color of the detail/accessories separately like previous sims games
I feel like they tested the cottage core aesthetic with the kit and people loved it so they released the expansion pack
im pretty sure they released almost three months apart so it was just a cash grab
i prefer the cottage living one but i don't need the entire pack
I love cottage vibe so I happy to have more of them XD
I use items from this pack in every single build I make, it’s how you style them really. If you size down the open wall cabinet it’s perfect for a wall hanged nightstand for example. Use that to death.
I used country kitchen a lot when I was in the early stage of my decades legacy challenge. You don’t realize how nice country aesthetics is until you have to build a 1890s house
l feel like the kit is stuff they were making for cottage living but decided to pull it off and went with the other objects instead
Yeah! That's exactly what they did in my opinion
The Sims 4 badly needs more kitchen sets, and the kits are actually a great way to do so. Too bad the first and so far only one was immediately made redundant by an expansion 🙄🙄
And they KNEW they were doing a kitchen set for cottage living with clutter and all, so its so annoying to buy a kit bc there is nothing like it in the game and to immediately get the same exact thing but better...
I agree. I would love to see KITS that are full of different bedroom sets, different kitchen sets, different living room sets etc. There's so much mismatched furniture or there's not enough matching furniture in the game. It's VERY limiting when playing on console. Because I don't have access to CC, my houses usually looks a little something like this -
Modern living room
Antique bathroom
Rustic bedroom
Farmhouse kitchen
Modern laundry room
In other words, it's a mess because there's not enough of the same style of furniture (besides modern) to decorate and furnish the whole lot or house with and it's very unfortunate..
I actually like this kit because it matches well with Cottage living. I live mix/matching pieces from both sets.
Smh at how EA treats us! Thanks Satch❤
The kit was released before Cottage Living was announced. Also I prefer the look of kit's highbacked stove, which also has better stats.
The kits are definitely a money grab but I still find myself buying them 😭😭
And thats why EA wont do better.... Because yall buy it anyway...
@@veronikaelvet’s not blame the consumer for being interested in a product that a company is putting out. Obviously in a perfect world these companies would care but they don’t. At the end of the day it’s up to the individual to buy the pack or not. You don’t have to buy every single pack that comes out. Just pick the ones you like and let others do the same, that’s why there’s specific packs for certain interests. Just pick what you think you’ll play and don’t spend your money on the ones you think are pointless, ofc companies are going to do money grabs, the whole point is to make money.
@@raisinbran531 and we dont need perfect games, but they definitely should do better!!!!
You need to try and not. The more people buy cash grabby things, the more greedy EA will become.
@@raisinbran531 The reason companies do shady things like this is due to consumers tolerating and financially supporting it.
And yet, I use the kit kitchen much more often then I use the expansion kitchen. The kit blends nicely with industrial.
The country kitchen style is my favourite aesthetic.. so I love being able to bled the cottage and country ones together to make more variety in my builds while still in the aesthetic I want ;) totally get why everyone wouldn’t want it tho
I actually love country kitchen and I use it in pretty much all my builds lol. Well, I use both for my kitchens because I love both!
High key I love this kit and use it more than the Cottage Living Kitchen. You did pick comparable swatches but a lot of the swatches on the Country Kitchen kit I end up using way more and I love the stove!
agreed, however the kit came before cottage living and so I own both... lol! if I'd known cottage living was coming, I wouldn't have bought that kit
But the country kitchen cooker has incredible stats that you don’t get again till your paying like triple the price
55:43 the bagel rubbing and scratching was amazingg
Kits were unique at first. They added niche clothes and build buy, but now? We have two plant kits, one country build kit but wait... It's only there for a kitchen and it's better worth getting cottage living than THAT thing. We have 2 clutter kits even tho if you own the latest packs (HSY and GT) you will NOT need those either as they and the BG will provide the same experience. Thank you EA for the lazy ass packs 😀
Not to mention free CC can design better to than EA 🙂
Totally on your side!
The only thing is that console players for example can’t use CC. I also don’t download cc cause it’s too much for my laptop and the game crashes easily when I play with it (I really miss my old PC at that point). So cc isn’t always an option unfortunately.
I always wondered why they don’t let cc creators work for EA and let them design all clothing and objects for the sims. That would be beneficial for everyone. Good image for EA, publicity for the creators and the gamers get objects they like
@@lotti_5sos515 Ur so right. They've only allowed a few CC creators to work with them eg: AHarris0Brittney and I think someone called peachysims (don't remember)
They also relesed this like weeks after putting out a statement promising that kits were not assets left out from other packs
I love them both. You can mix and match the counters and get a really dynamic and unique look. I also think that the country kitchen cabinets are more detailed and beautiful than the cottage living set. Cottage living is amazing.. but I really use the country kitchen items a lot. Biggest complaint with it is that the curtains are not good color coordination with the cabinet colors.
Got the curtain issue backwards. The swatches on country kitchen are better.
I love this video "theme" I'm a super thrifty simmer, direct comparisons like this makes it really to make purchase decisions.
And cottage lliving is one of the best packs period. The build stuff, the cas, the gameplay, it's all 👌
Plus, Cottage Living has the one and only Agnes Crumplebottom.
I love the country kitchen kit honestly, the little decorations and shelves are so cute and, while they are very similar, I still find myself using it all the time... not to say everyone should have it but I truly to like the pack and I find it's different enough for me. I do so wish that they would've just made it a basegame thing or something as we have nothing like it in the basegame and it would be less insulting to simmers
I think it depends on what you’re looking for. If you don’t want to pay a lot of money on an expansion pack just for cottagecore items, then the kit actually makes sense. But if you feel the Cottage Living expansion pack is worth it for items and gameplay, then maybe the kit isn’t necessary. However, I did get both bc i actually prefer the look of the items in the kit. I’m a builder on PS so I enjoy having options.
I like both cause I don’t want the houses looking repetitive so in different houses in that town have either one
Better than some other kits imo nice kitchen clutter bits. Big cost difference to add.
I like the stove and fridge from the kit, and the counters from the expansion. So, while I know it's stupid, I like both.
I actually think that the country kitchen set is worth just because it's so similar to the cottage living kitchen. Makes it possible to use both together without having major texture differences. It shouldve been one pack though.
The difference is one’s $5 while the other is $40. The kit was for those that wanted a country kitchen but didn’t have the $40 for the expansion pack. I personally think they’re both worth the money you pay for.
The Country Kitchen Kit came out before the Cottage Living Pack by four months, I just looked it up. It was released March 2, 2021. Cottage Living was announced June 10, 2021 and came out July 22, 2021. I wonder if they released the kit to see how the reaction from the community to certain things that were still changeable at that late in the development process of Cottage Living, for example the colorways? It’s just a thought. I own both. It’s one of the very few kits I do own, but I probably wouldn’t have bought it if I had known Cottage Living was coming out. I bought Country Kitchen specifically because I wanted to make my grandma’s house from when I was growing up in the 80s, but the Cottage Living refrigerator is much more accurate.
I think kits are nice for those who can’t afford larger packs. Something extra to have instead of just base game.
If you are sneaky enough you can use country kitchen, cottage and parenthood cabinets in the same kitchen...same thing just reskinned
I actually feel that having something similar (if you like the aesthetic) makes it more worthwhile, at least for me. I can mix and match items (though not all the swatches match up which is sad), and this particular rustic style isn't one that we have a lot of so variety is harder. Also, a kitchen kit *almost* makes up for the ridiculous price since you need multiple different counters (main counter, corner counter, end pieces, island, upper cabinets) PLUS we got appliances and clutter. I still think kits are overpriced, since (correct me if I'm wrong) in several other of the Build/Buy kits, there have only been 20 or so items? Country Kitchen Kit is honestly one of the better deals. That being said, it is the *ONLY* kit I've purchased to date, though I did get the Desert Luxe while it was free. Half the cost of a Stuff Pack for a third of the content is ludicrous. And not a single one has gone on sale. There aren't even bundle options! Absolute hogwash.
Not gonna lie, the kit is just a dollar tree version of the kitchen set from cottage living 😂
I totally agree with you 100%! Thank you have a good day😂
Same kudos to you dear
I really enjoy the look of this pack even though I already own cottage living, but since I prefer putting my builds on the gallery it seems pointless to buy any kits since most people are not gonna own them
Horse ranch also has the same exact style with many overlapping swatches, and you get horses. That means there are 3 different packs with the same kitchen set yet we still can’t get modern kitchens that at this point are outdated!! I want a free standing fireplace, microwaves and ovens that can be stacked and inserted into cabinetry, and the ability to do the same with a fridge. We need better sinks too- we only have a few true bathroom sinks, no double sinks or sinks that can be placed on top of a counter. All of these are features that were popular before the sims 4 even came out, so why do we still not have them?
Since they’re so similar I feel like they made that kit just in case people liked the cottage living items but didn’t actually want the full expansion pack and/or couldn’t afford it
Pirates watching this….😂😂😂 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
I love that Tyler is more getting comfortable now. "There's 3 people dead!" Lmaoooo 😂
I wish the cottage living kitchen cabinets had more options bc I don’t like having curtains on all of them especially when I want a bigger kitchen bc it makes it look v copy and paste everywhere bc they all look the same
I actually prefer country kitchen over the cottage living one. The range offers higher levels for cooking and lower chance of breaking down and for less simoleans. For the majority of us, country kitchen kit came out before Cottage Living, and many of us bought it so there's no choice anyway.
at first I didn't even notice you're showing two different rooms 😂 so. I'm convinced:)
I love the comparison next to each other 👍🏻
YES to this series! Thank you
I love this haircut on you 🤩🤩
Personally the only worth it kit was bust the dust bc it came with unique gameplay and even then you need mods if you want a fucking broom for off the grid.
I pirate everything in TS4, but thank you for the advice.
Country Kitchen exists for people who might just want the kitchen B/B items from Cottage Living but don’t might not want to spend 60 bucks on it. There’s very little reason to buy them both, but there is reason for both of them to exist.
As much as there is justification for any kit existing, that is.
I disagree, I like this pack, and use it far more often because of the grungy aesthetic. It’s great for older, poorer houses. I understand if it seems like a waste, but the only packs I recommend to Never get is easily Mens Wear and Bust The Dust because neither can be used in day to day gameplay in a way that feels real, or long lasting.
I hate the cottage living cabinets due to the hardware being painted the same color as the cabinet.
I knew u were gonna say Cottage living as soon as I heard "country".
NOOOO TAKE THAT BACK RIGHT NOW 😢😢💔💔
The only reason I actually like that kit is because the stove is a level 7 cooking and is extremely cheap 😂
But the rest, I 100 % agree with!
As someone who is only a builder when it comes to the Sims four I like this pack because I’m not spending that much money on cottage living dude I’m poor and like you said they look the exact same basically and the kit is cheaper lol
🏴☠️
Ye but if u don’t want to spend 30 odd quid on cottage living , country kitchen is a good alternative to still that that cottage kitchen vibes but for a lot cheaper
I feel it’s a valid option for people who want more country feel builds without the cottage living game mechanics which would be a concern for older computers
i would pay those measly 10 dollars for county kitchen kit any day, i use items from it in every other build
this is a weird comparison considering the "better" one is also like 4 times more expensive. cottage living is one of my favorite packs tho lol
i pirated all the packs and i don’t feel bad. i never do this with games but sims base game is a joke. i’m not paying $600 for dlc
The only downside to this statement is that the country kitchen kit is $5 and the expansion pack is $40 so that's a hell of a lot more money when you're broke. And that's why I, ahem, have other avenues of obtaining the packs that i have just recently discovered.
i do think it’s a good option people who don’t want to drop $60 for some counters though lol. cottage living is great, but kits are cheap
Is a extremely big difference of money, so I understand when people prefer to buy the kit
Nope. The clutter in country kitchen is SUPER!
i got country kitchen because it seemed like the one i would use the most out of the 3 that were out at the time, and i wanted to see what the hype was about. yeah, i'm not buying another kit again lol plus i play on pc so i download cc anyway
yeah, it's sorta pointless. i absolutely love the built in range hood, and i tend to use the two different kitchen sets together, all mixed up
Kits- CC that they make you buy for way too much money that should've just been a free base game update.
Kits always felt useless to me cause they just feel like things I could easily get CC of and at times look better for free. I can get packs that actually add things in the game like vampires or island living, but the kits just feel like they are trying to just steal your money all for a pretty looking chair.
Does anyone remember how this one pack has the same items but its in a different pricing?
think its more for ppl who dont want (or cant) get cottage living who want a nice kitchen for less money
I like to mix and match them together I love the kit
This really annoyed me. I got the kit when it released because they said they wouldn't ever do anything like it, only for them to release the same damn kitchen in a later pack.
The country kitchen counters are the only nice pink ones available in the game
I like to mix and match them get them both and love your cottage core dreams
Live*
Yeah, I completely disagree. I use items from Country Kitchen all the time. I absolutely love the design, and the only complaint I have is that there aren't more colors for the counters and cupboards.
I think the kits are just rejected designs for packs. For example, I think grunge kit is just rejects from Werewolves, etcs.
If you can't afford to get cottage living or the pack is too large for the space on their computer, this is a good alternative if you want some things related to cottage living...
Note: I'm not standing up for EA being greedy whatsoever
The kits are cheap they are around 5 or under 10 dollars. Compared to the 30$. For some the expensive one is better as it has a lot more to offer but to those who can't spend 20-40$ on sims. The kit is also a best choice for those who at least want something different in their build. Not everyone can afford the expensive stuff and they might not have the ccs.
I'm mad the country kit kitchen set doesn't even have any of the same swatches as the cottage living one either.
Wow, they really hace no shame selling the SAME STUF twice
i think they really got people bc country living hadnt been announced and there were no hints so the kit was all we had 😭
