    I’ve never, in my entire life, witnessed narcissism so pathological. I’m amazed he got to age 40 a free man. This trial itself has been justice. He was controlled, made to feel small, thrown around, moved about by WOMEN. He hated that more than anything. I live 5000 miles away, I’ve watched every minute of this trial, I’ve cried at the testimony and it has shocked me that anyone can be so consistently lacking in basic humanity as Darrell Brooks. He will never own a woman again. He will never be respected again. He will die in prison everyday.

    Once I watched a wild turkey and her chicks suddenly cross the highway, every car automatically stopped and waited patiently for her to secure all her chicks across this state highway. It is a common human respect for life to honor every life even if it was just a turkey and her babies. This guy ran over humans, children, the elderly, and anything in his way. • @anlace3447
      @anlace3447 Год назад +4

      She was not, she was very good. BUT...
      she should have delivered the verdict without showing any emotion: "you are receiving this sentence, for x, y, z, reasons."
      Her sentencing remarks were far too long, interjected with personal feelings and expressed with far too much emotion... Her having sleepless nights because of some of the evidence presented is irrelevant to the sentence that is warranted,
      I have a suspicion that she knew the spotlight was on her and wanted to put on a show.
      Allowing applause after the life sentences were stated, was also contrary to the decorum of a court (which she often chastised Brookes for violating).
      She let Brookes make a joke of the court, allowing him to repeatedly violate court rules, mock victims, mock and attack the prosecution, etc.
      She should not have allowed this conduct.
      Not allowing it, would not have benefited him in any way on appeal.
      Brookes will appeal anyway (she knows that), that is why he kept saying "I don't understand the cause for the charges even at sentencing". But he has next to nothing on appeal, he may at best get a few years shaved off his 1000+ year sentence.
      Even if an appellate court accepts that he had "ineffective assistance of counsel"-- Brookes can argue that she was wrong to allow him to represent himself-- he will be retried again and then sent again to prison for life.

    3:54 her intake of breath as she talks about the band members shows how much this judge has been affected by all this. I don't know for sure but I would assume, as a matter of course, judges who deal with cases such as these are given post-traumatic counselling afterwards as a matter of course. If not, I hope she gets some, followed by a lovely long vacation, and then a promotion.
