    Southern Collard Greens With Smoked Turkey Recipe
    collard greens 2 bunches
    3/4 cup yellow onions and shallots
    2 1/2 tbsp garlic minced
    2 small bell peppers red/green
    smoked meat turkey or pork
    water
    5 cups chicken broth or 5 cups water + 1 1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
    season all aka season salt to taste
    garlic powder to taste
    onion powder to taste
    red chili flakes to taste
    1-2 tbsp vinegar distilled

    Update!!
    I cooked Tammy's collard greens recipe and followed her recipe exactly and I won!! Everyone loved the collards and wanted the recipe; and of course the sore loser was complaining that it was rigged..I kid you not that's what she said. Tammy thank you for sharing your recipe 😊.

    🙋🏽‍♀️My mom use to always say the " pot liquor " sopped up with cornbread was the best part.😁 I've never added vinegar. I'll have to try it. Also, I add a couple of teaspoons of sugar. TFS

    I'm doing my thanksgiving run through this weekend and I just finished these greens, they are outstanding. I have never made collards before or used the Turkey necks, and I followed your instructions word for word.... FABULOUS!

    I didn't Grow up on Collard green's but I have eaten them with ham & bacon that I didn't cook they got me Hooked!

    I'm going to try this recipe because my church always like and clockwork they have a cook off on who cooks the best collard greens;
    And there's one woman who thinks her collard greens is the bomb and bragging about it and I can't wait to cook Tammy's collard greens and wipe that smirk off her face lol..

    My fried collards is off the chain with simple ingredients. Oil, chopped onions, bellpeppers, salt and ground pepper corns... Tammy cooking is amazing!

    If i was cooking the greens without the turkey i would add a grating of nutmeg. That makes them almost taste like Callaloo. your dish looked very appetising. Thank you . Rabchef .

    I'm glad to see we are not always using pork for everything. I also use smoke turkey and I add diced tomatoes and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar.

      Happy New Year family. Tammy, you took me back to my childhood. Mom and dad made the best collards using sometimes smoked turkey, smoked neckbones or oxtails. At 71 years I can remember those pots like it was yesterday lol. Thanks for those memories 😊
