Good job! I put corrosion preventative on mine when I have bolts out from various places.
You are a good instructor
yup, im liking the video for the outstanding camera angles and for being a life saver!
Very well done. Straight to the point. Very helpful tips for removing when stuck. The book always makes it sound easy but you had a good idea using the vice grips when the Allen key didn't work. Thanks very much!
Yeah that Allen always end up twisting or stripping the inside
I've done that today hahahaha
Great video, I like the "Marines there is no plan b t hoodie"!!!
What do you mean there is no plan B? You can always become a guy who hands wrenches to an auto mechanic!
Damn! I want that hoodie! There is absolutely NO plan B
good job. Nice clear video. I did the drivers side on my '07 Lexus ES 350, but still have the noise, so I guess I have to do the passenger side too. You are right, they ain't easy to remove. Gotta be much easier up on a lift tho. Nice video. Thanks !
Jon Randall heating the bolt makes it easy ... do the sway bar bushings also that should take care of rumbling noise if ur having that if not then you might have to look in to strut/mounts hopefully it dosent get to that point ...please subscribe also subscribe to my other channel here’s a link ruclips.net/channel/UCvqsPzqAZfVv_gjBYUFqNdg
@@RBTheMechanic I've done the sway bar linkage now on both sides on the rear of my '07 ES 350, and it did remove about 75% of the clunking noises heard over even small bumps. I'm not sure where the sway bar bushings are ? Aren't they at the bottom of the linkage that I just replaced ? Happy to subscribe to anything you have, RB ! Great job !
Jon Randall the lower bolt that connects on linkage u follow that bad it has mounting point with bushings I’ll send u a link for another video it’s similar
Jon Randall ruclips.net/video/TgkRMeLuosg/видео.html
Nice work👍
Thank you for the upload. Was the old one bended aswell?
Topias Kauppinen it had play please subscribe
Well done, well explained
Yup thank u!
if you are doing this yourself, the day before you do it or even two days before apply a good rust penetrator (not wd40 either) once a day to the bolts, this will make your job a hell of a lot easier.
Yup that’s a good idea
Hello Car Doctor, have you ever changed such bushings to a Avensis(2003 year model T22)?Between the rear bolt sockets in the subframe there is a pipe between rear subframe sockets(that holds the subframe in the mainframe) that is bolted to the mainframe, when i try to release the subframe it stays up cause the pipe is holding it in the mainframe, what is this pipe called?I cant find any information about it, and mine is so rusty it doesnt really do anything.I need to know this cause i need to order a new pipe or does it matter if i take it off?I can send some pictures in the email, i really dont understand whats the use of that pipe, its not full metal, its hollow in the middle. The pipe connects to the rear sockets in the subframe, its maybe a somesort of balancer etc?
No I have not sounds like somthing super fun aka complicated
@@RBTheMechanic Yea its totally confusing, cant find any info about it from repair manuals either, i guess i need to remove and remake it, its only a pipe with ears on both ends wich connect to the rear subframe threads+the little tag in the middle of the pipe that connects to the mainframe itself..
I have a Honda Accord T2A and making 'klok klok' noise at the rear . I have changed new pair of rear stabiliser link & bushing but still making the same noise when going over uneven roads & potholes. What could be the culprit?
Hello. Same issue here. Fixed yours?
@@mungwatk Same issue here on a 2002 Civic. Fixed yours?
I had a Honda Accord which I just installed new rear springs and ended up with a creaking noise on the driver rear area. It turned out I had over tightened a few bolts back which caused the creak. I bought a new torque wrench and tightened all things back there to spec and no more noise.
Nice!!! I hd car last week customer came to me with Audi he had installed no arm ball joint shocks and 2 other arms but he complained this noise clunk I checked and checked and checked then I told him $800 he said why so much and what it is I told him $800 and I’ll tell u then u decided if u wanna do it or not but it will be another $800 so he said do it but guranteee fix
I said yes
And I took out my torque wrench and torqued all the bolts and no more clunk. I ended up charging him $290. He was very happy and he said what it was. I said ur other mechanic need to invest in torque wrench so he can do the job properly and all I did was retighten all the bolt to torque spec
I have mercedes benz GLC 250D premium AMG Line. It is making clunk/knock noises over a rough road from the rear end inside the boot. After a diagnostic from the local garage, they assumed it was a shock absorber or something in the suspension. I couldn't find out yet. Any solution, please?
Well u need to check and start with basic and prime suspect is sway bar link or shock
What about a loud deep thunk when going over bumps or train tracks or curbs, on a 01 civic?
Not sure u would have to pin point where the noise is coming from which side and then check suspension components
Having the same issue on a 2002 Civic. Issue on a 2002 Civic, rear tire scrapping to the rear coil housing over the bumps/curbs. How to resolve this issue?
My Hyundai Eon car , makes the clunking noise at the right side of its rear end whenever it goes through bump or off-road route , I wonder is this the only solution?
Because , despite having good shockups and spring , my mechanic can't figure it out how is it happening?
My mechanic always suggests me to change the shockups & struts.
Well I would first pin point the problem as u can see this was making noise u can alway remove the links and drive the car and see if noise goes away then it’s the strut or strut mount
Issue on a 2002 Civic, rear tire scrapping to the rear coil housing over the bumps. How to resolve this issue?
Is the car dropped? Might be bad shocks
@@RBTheMechanic I was thinking the same. Only the rear left side that is doing it and the rear right side doesn't. Thanks for responding.
@@rhyu1st oh ok
I’m on a coilovers and every time I’m turning right on like a little
up
curve I’m hearing thay knocking sound will
it be my end link too
Check it with party bar
How would you diagnose this?
JQ’S Queue it has play in it very little
So I have a f250 4x4 changed the shocks still making loud clunking noise from the rear end only going over speed bumps but it sounds and sometimes feels like the bed is gonna break any ideas?
Welll check ur links and bushings and since it’s a truck check ur body frame bushing just look around see if u can find anything start with links and bushing use prey bar to push them up and down
@@RBTheMechanic I checked all that everything seems to be tight with no play or movement but I guess I'll recheck them
Great vid, torch it if garbage, save your arms
Rear has creaking and squeaking noise on bumps. 2016 lancer. Any inputs?
Check links and bushing u can also put inside grease in joints to see if any squeaks go away
@@RBTheMechanic thanks for the inputs. Will get back to you after I have done this. Appreciate it
@@marcopolofeliciano857 the reason why I saw greasing cuz those cars always Seurat in rear some times it just rust throw on wd40 on arm bushings see the outcome do one or 2 at a time to figure out which one is causing it
I replaced my links on my 02 Honda Accord 3.0 and I have a chirp sound when i hit a bump on the road that just been worked on. Just on that road. I haven't noticed it anywhere else
Check ur sway bar bushings also
My 2009 Lincoln MKZ makes a clunking noise even over a small bump at low speed. It sounds like a hollow beer keg was in the trunk; I checked. I bounced on the rear of the car and the shocks seems great and no clunking. Shoved the rear side to side and no clunking. I then opened the trunk, stood inside and jumped up and down like an ape; my wife shook her head and shut the garage door. ANYWAY, I am fairly low IQ guy with respect to car mechanics so, in the rear, I have shock absorbers, struts, sway bar linkage, and bushings??? Is this correct? Anything else that could be contributing to this issue? I related to what you were saying in the video so may I want to investigate the rear sway bar linkage/ "bushings"? I want to research each potential root cause and, if more than one, prioritize what I can before I go to some of our neighborhood auto shops and become the "fat hog" in "Deliverance". Your video was the only one I really liked so I hope I can get some feedback.
Try Lifting the car and use pry bar to see any play in the linkages that’s u have to do first
@@RBTheMechanic Thank you!
@@jaym48 no problem and by the way I always do that jump in the trunk trick and push the front up and down if it’s in front I even tried mounting cameras underneath
Can you use an impact and remove those nuts? Or you have to hold the allen bolt still while loosening?
Some times it work with impact and some times u hold the back end with vice grip and it works but it’s all when u do it try diff diff taxtics!
I have a question so I took my car to the dealership to get checked and they said it was my shocks Bc when I hit bumps it would clack so I replaced em and there’s still a clacking just very light now
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200
I have a question... how can a rear suspicion get stuck in the normal position and be completely solid? It won't move from the wheel at all. Every bump I hit feels like a punch in the back from mine Tyson. Please reply any mechanic?
Well once the car is up in the air the struts will push the suspension back to stiff position but use pry bar to fish around to see where the play is also. One thing u can check is the strut and strut mount but that’s somthing need to be removed and check
I appreciate the reply but there is no play at all in the whole system. It's like a welded steel bar from the body to the wheel. It's the weirdest thing I've ever felt
@@keithvien528 did u check shocks maybe somthing inside the trunk
Im going to look right now I have a decent sized toolbox on that side I'll pull back carpet
Hi how did you know it was the drop links that had failed as they looked quite a sturdy
U can feel the play and movent in ur hand when u move it
@@RBTheMechanic what's your thought on the original links after 100000 on the rear of an accord 8. They feel solid enough but still a low speed knock persists. Sway bar Bushes and rear shocks and mints have been changed.😵👍
@@bronniesboy I would change the links as well
@@RBTheMechanic is it unlikely to be the rear lower arm, wishbone or control arm bushes at this stage!
@@bronniesboy usullly they don’t go and I would make that be last option did u try checking the li is with pry bar
I hear a clunk noise. When I’m almost coming to a complete stop. Like it’s CLUNK and it happens not every often. But when it does it’s when I’m like going 5mph or when coming to a stop
Could be somthing with drive shafts or suspension need to get closer hearing on that clunk and try to pin point which side and where about it’s comming
I have a 2014 gmc terrain. When stopping the rear of it makes a lot of loud Squeaking noises. It's very loud sounds like I'm riding around in a hunk of junk.
Check where the noise is coming from could be brakes or somthing else
Its way easier doing it alone and with a pneumatic impact driver no allen key or vice grip needed
iivan!! Yup either way u can do it
hearing funny clanking sound over low bumps at the rear under of my mazda mpv, i will see to it
olusegun adeleye check linkage and bushings

Always the rear end..
My car Scrap when I close low garage or driveway. Cars runs great straight. Just during existing.
I’m not sure how I can help on that one it might just be car is low and drive way angle
@@RBTheMechanic do you a video for a 2001 lexus rear spark plug removal???
@@rudysison9010 no I don’t I have Toyota Sienna it should be similar should I get u the video
Looks like oils coming from the strut
My Skoda 2010 has the same problem rear left wheel and it’s very poor service here any help, from 🇮🇳
Try it urself make sure u heat up the bolts and be safe when lifting the car
what kind of car is this?
This was Camry I think year was 2015 or up
Good work ,but you said the rear end this repair is on the front 😢
No it’s the rear that is RR wheel
if you have a 14 impact use that break loose than use the technique he used.
Yeah
Can I just tighten it up?
BestBeastBach 0.0 no or has internal play in the joint
It didn’t work because y’all were tightening it….lol
I got this issue after installing coilovers.. any advice
I don’t think it caused by coil overs unless u left it loose other wise part was ready to go out
@RBTheMechanic I noticed the sound didn't happen when I originally installed it. Only after lowering it cuz I felt they were too high. Also curious because after I believed I set them all up the same height ironically the rear driver side which is the one that is making the noise is the one that is a about a inch higher then the rear driver side. Making me think something else has to be wrong. I set the preload correct. It basically sounds like if I left the trunk open and every time I hit a bump the loose trunk is banging. Best way to explain it
@@NjBoriG35 either somthing is loose or bad check ur strut mount bolt and all other bolts also linkage bolts
@@RBTheMechanic everything looks and feels tight. Links look original lol
@@NjBoriG35 use pry bar to see play it’s loaded pressure u can’t tell by hand and strut mount that’s diffrent story
Bruh we need the noise
Why
What part is that
Philmar Bautista sway bar linkage
Mechanic 🤣🤣 no such thing as number 5 allen key. Maybe a T5 torx lol and a number 14 wrench jesus
5 mm that is. Check it next time u come across the set I got by saying number 5 and 14 my viewers understand it’s 5mm and 14mm
I got the same problem
Well check links busing for plays it can also be strut mounts but start with basics
@@RBTheMechanic it was the sway bar links they was loose I put some brand new ones yesterday n now the noise went away 🙏🏻🙂
I have another problem today I clean the heater core i flush it out it was dirty after dat I tryed to see if my heater works it does butt it throws cold on the driver side and hot air on the passenger side
