Thank you! Absolutely, the west coast blacktail hunt in the snow is what dreams are made of. I wish everyone could experience it at some level and there is a lot of opportunity out west. Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California all have OTC opportunities. One of these days I’d like to share what that looks like and how to be successful in each state from a tactics standpoint. You definitely want to plan for Alaska and the Sitka blacktail hunt. It’s my favorite but that was on Kodiak!
@@NathanEndicott_Films You are welcome 🙏 and I agree with you. A winter ❄️ wonderland can be magical at times, but dangerous in others. That would be a great long film or short series idea. Kind of like a 4 Corner State mule deer 🦌 hunt that I just saw Marc Smith posted about. I hear Northern California has some slob black bears 🐻 and if I had the time I would definitely fly from West Virginia and do a combination hunt. Separately would be fine too. Just like a Rosey and Blacktail combo hunt would be cool in Oregon.
@@TheWVgoodguy22 it’s a big effort to fill a couple tags but it would give you more opportunities to fill at least one tag. California bear numbers are outrageous. That would be a must! Thanks again for the kind feedback 🙏🏽

Super fortunate with this old buck! Still can’t believe it all worked out. I have come up short several times after a big effort but that’s what keeps me grinding, for the what if this time it works out
Awesome job Nathan! Watched this episode twice and the sound quality is great! Great catch on video of the two bucks squaring off and the grunting. I find it fascinating when you get them on camera grunting and communicating. I look forward to all of your future hunts! Especially Nevada and New Mexico!
Thank you, Brye! That was pretty lucky. I’ve never seen a buck grunt up close like that and to see him stretch out his neck like an elk was pretty funny. Apparently he felt like a boss after his fight, ha! Nevada is one of my favorites! New Mexico was awesome too and it was fun to focus on the camera for once.
Thank you 🙏🏽 It really can go either way. The condition and terrain and vastness makes it challenging, but when you put in the work - you can find yourself in the right place at the right time. When it all comes together it’s one of the most rewarding hunts I’ve ever done. 🤙🏽
Nice work, you earned him. Very nice BT buck. Love that big timber country your hunting in reminds me of hunting my stomping grounds in costal Nor Cal. Congrats on a stud!!
Amazing footage! I would have had a hard time passing on those first two, but the one you shot is a super cool buck. Congrats on another successful season!
I’m still in disbelief that I saw those fights at close distance! 2022 was a difficult season and I settled for a younger buck so I was pretty set on old buck or bust! Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you!! The blacktail hunt is one of my favorites. I’ve got a couple blacktail films and one other AZ film. That 2022 AZ film is just a rough draft and not yet public lol.
So do you truly consider those black tail though in California. They really should have their own class because they do not look anything like the ones from Washington or Oregon there's six different varieties according to the Legends of the Pacific Northwest boacktails
@@Mossy-back-blacktail the hunt I plan to do in CA the ocean is visible from higher peaks but I have no idea on the blacktail genetics in that region. Blacktail have a fascinating origin and their genetics vary widely, consider SE Alaska Sitka vs. Kodiak (planted from SE Alaska) blacktail. They really look different and adapt to their environment. DUDE!!! Just wanna say great work all around - good cinematography, good narration, and amazing footage of the bucks fighting and all the bucks you captured! I started bow hunting 3 years ago, and have spent 2 seasons hunting the same, exact Oregon terrain and I know how difficult it is to just see a Doe. Thats an awesome buck, and great feeling. There is something so full-filling about being out there in Nov/Dec by yourself and seeing deer. Great work!
Haha! Thank you 🙏🏽 🤙🏽 As you know, it’s not every year that experiences like that happen but I am sure happy the stars aligned last season. I’m sure you return to that spot because you’ve seen what can happen under the right circumstances. Fortunately, I’ve spent a lifetime hunting the high country and all that effort is cumulative. Sooner or later, you will really be rewarded for your efforts.

Great video and a cool old buck! Thanks for acknowledging God at the end; I like to see that. I moved from Texas (well, Africa really) to Northern California to be a part of a church up here several years ago and have become obsessed with hunting the blacktail and bears here. Thanks for sharing this, pretty cool to see that deer 🦌 action l just enjoy watching them do what deer do.
Great Job Nathan! Love all your videos! Thankful that you are able to get back out there in the woods. Thanks for taking the time and sharing with us.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I really didn’t know if I was going to be able to do that blacktail hunt this year but I’m super grateful that I improved to the extent I have. Hopefully, more to come 🙏🏽
Congrats on the old buck!! Well done sir!
Super fortunate with this old buck! Still can’t believe it all worked out. I have come up short several times after a big effort but that’s what keeps me grinding, for the what if this time it works out
Really sweet footage! Congratulations on a terrific mature blacktail buck!
Thank you!! It was such a fun season!
Great job!
@@jimdugan1536 thank you 🙏🏽
So cool!! Thanks for sharing. That looks so challenging. Awesome that you pulled it off and on film!! Congrats!!
Thank you 🙏🏽
It really can go either way. The condition and terrain and vastness makes it challenging, but when you put in the work - you can find yourself in the right place at the right time. When it all comes together it’s one of the most rewarding hunts I’ve ever done. 🤙🏽
Beautiful buck, congrats
Thank you!
Nice work, you earned him. Very nice BT buck. Love that big timber country your hunting in reminds me of hunting my stomping grounds in costal Nor Cal. Congrats on a stud!!
Thank you!
I might be down there this year! I’m planning to scout and potentially buy a B zone deer tag!
@@NathanEndicott_Films any area in particular your going to target? Lots of good country that burned a couple years ago
@@joemiller9314 I have a couple friends who live down there and they may help. I mostly am excited to explore.
Congrat's. Way to sticking with it.. definately a úniques buck for sure. Great carácter and a perfect one to harvest...
Thank you 🙏🏽
I was super fortunate to end up with a buck like that. Easily could have not worked out.
Much respect, very well done.
🙏🏽🤙🏽
Congrats on a mature buck!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Super fortunate, could have easily gone the other way and not worked out
Awesome buck congrats. Wat a beautiful place to escape it all too..glad ur doing better good sir stay safe out there by yourself
Thank you! I feel like I know some hunting spots better than my home. Lol. Certainly my heaven on earth.
Amazing blacktail footage! :D
Thank you 🙏🏽
I had never witnessed bucks fight and two experiences in one year was pretty wild!
Nice videography and great hunt. Praise the Lord for it all.
Thank you. Agree, every day is a gift 🙏🏽.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Just awesome!
Thank you!! The blacktail hunt is one of my favorites.
I’ve got a couple blacktail films and one other AZ film. That 2022 AZ film is just a rough draft and not yet public lol.
Awesome video my guy love watching Colombian blacktail hunting videos
Thank you! I can’t get enough of blacktail! Hopefully this year I get to hunt CA early for more opportunities.
Either way, I’m obsessed with deer and especially the ones that look like a blacktail 🤙🏽🏹
Awesome footage! Good job on that buck. Blessings with your health going fwd
Thank you and I appreciate that! Hopefully just on the up and up from here on out. 🙏🏽
Savage. You always get great footage. Nicely done, Nathan.
I was handed some incredible moments in the high country. Super blessed and hopefully more like it in the future! Thanks for the kind words 🤙🏽
Moving out to just south of Portland from Michigan, been doing some research on hunting in Oregon, thabks for the video, hopefully I'll get one next year!
Right on!! I love the Pacific Northwest and went to Portland State University. Good luck as you get out there and enjoy!
Nice video man. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing footage and a great buck!
Thank you 🙏🏽
That season was a grind but I’m sure happy it worked out.
Wow, what a hunt!!! That’s inspiring as all get out.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I was really fortunate to have things go my way. Easily could have not worked out but I’m sure glad it did.
@@NathanEndicott_Films just seeing that the bucks are out there in those numbers is encouraging. This fall will be my third season chasing them, and thus far haven’t filled a tag yet. I thought I was grinding but compared to this hunt, I’ve been slacking hard! Lol.
@@zacharyroush1207 😂 it’s a tough hunt. I hunted hard for nine days to see those bucks. You’ll make it happen, just keep learning and never give up.
I'm hitting medford area myself for the first time to hunt with my recurve. This inspired me so much
That’s awesome! There are a lot of deer in that part of the state. I’ve grown up shooting traditional but it’s pretty difficult to hunt with one but that’s a very rewarding method. Good luck this season and I hope you enjoy the experience!
@@NathanEndicott_Films any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm going Oct 30-5th. I primarily hunt trad myself. Are they rutting dur8ng that time of the year?
@@cardonaman i would be surprised to see rut activity at that time with a general any season weapon tag. You might have better luck from a stand or blind situated on a good trail near a bedding area. Will you pack a rifle as well?
@@NathanEndicott_Films I'll get myself a stand then! Thank you!
@@cardonaman good luck and let me know how you do.
I just love your video's! They're done so well and so many great shots of the animals and the country you hunt. Please keep them coming! Awesome job!!!!!

I’m really excited about my dads sheep hunt and that will be in the Full Draw Film Tour! Any day now they should release the tour dates and locations
Very nicely done, congratulations, great deer, nice music. Thanks for sharing.

Last year was super tough to turn up mature bucks and it was an absolute grind. I was lucky this buck found me again late in the season.
Awesome buck Nathan and great videography dude!! superb
Thank you! You will like my dads sheep hunt! It’s going to be on the full draw film tour this year. I was dedicated camera guy and it really helps lol
Great video, Nate!
🙏🏽 thank you! That hunt is a special one.
Congrats from California!!! I can't wait for this year's hunt!!
Thank you! I’m hoping to get down there this year!!! Can’t wait. Northern CA is incredible.
What a great hunt. You had tons of action and you got a great buck!!
That late hunt really is special. My dad started taking me before I could hunt. I remember him jumping out of the truck to chase a buck once 😂. Never would have thought back then how much I love to be up there now days. Every day is a gift, that’s for sure.
Great work!
Haha! Thank you 🙏🏽 🤙🏽
As you know, it’s not every year that experiences like that happen but I am sure happy the stars aligned last season. It’s hard to describe those emotions of overcoming the grind and have things come together in the last inning. It was Fate, I guess.
Just keep after it and things will eventually work out! I’m sure you return to that spot because you’ve seen what can happen under the right circumstances.
Fortunately, I’ve spent a lifetime hunting the high country and all that effort is cumulative. Sooner or later, you will really be rewarded for your efforts.
Another amazing video! Love seeing how close you can get to these blacktails. Truly amazing.
Thank you! I am honestly pretty shocked when they walk up to me! Those high country deer just don’t expect me me to be there.
Great film!!
Thank you 🙏🏽.
Stud buck. Congrats!
Thank you! Super happy with him. He is one of my tallest bucks and his character is just cool, fork by four, haha!

Awesome video Nathan, been watching your content for a while now and I definitely got the bug to go and try my hand at Oregon Blacktail hunting, I hunt here in the sierras of CA and am applying some of the skills I’ve been picking up from other Pacific Northwest hunters
Thank you! 🙏🏽
I love it down there! I’ve been down a few times this year and love camping out up high in the alpine. Oregon just doesn’t have the same habitat as the high country down there.
@@NathanEndicott_Films no problem👍🏼🙏🏻 yeah the high country out here is something else, nothing like it.
Missed my chance and a big 3pt I’ve been watching since June yesterday. Did some still walking through thick cover and missed my shot when I jumped him. The hunt continues
@@Simpleoljesus it’s been super hot and that’s not helping much. I was down there on Thursday and saw two small bucks and a bear. I still have 1-deer tag and the bear tag so hopefully I’ll connect on a good buck. The bear was on a mission and didn’t stop.
@@NathanEndicott_Films keep at it, I’m sure you’ll be blessed with an oppurtunity eventually, been listening to some podcast you’re on as well as others with Scott Haugen and a few other people. Definitely helping me put the pieces together.

Thank you! Last year was amazing but also very brutal. Knee surgery, torn disk, autoimmune disorder kinda stacked up at once. Most of the year I was convinced I’d never hunt again, but I never stopped trying and eventually, I got better!

Thank you!
I’ve got an AZ mule deer hunt I can’t wait to edit!
Great video and a cool old buck! Thanks for acknowledging God at the end; I like to see that. I moved from Texas (well, Africa really) to Northern California to be a part of a church up here several years ago and have become obsessed with hunting the blacktail and bears here. I eventually found some good spots and tagged some of each critter with my bow, but California OTC public hunting is stinking hard!!! If I saw a third as many bucks as were in this video I'd be stoked haha. I've been thinking I will probably try Oregon this year as well. I put in for mulies with an Oregonian friend, but if I don't draw I'll probably try blacktail and/or Roosevelt elk. I'd love to hear any tips and advice you may have! Good luck next season!
Thank you 🙏🏽
That’s an awesome story and thank you for the kind feedback!
So Brian Call just posted a podcast and the first half is Oregon blacktail so you might check that out! Also, my Blacktail tactics film really dives into details!
I’m actually planning a blacktail hunt in northern CA this year and can’t wait!
