Thank you! That film made it into the full draw film tour and they have a 15-minute maximum so we really did pack it in. However, I’d rather that films move quickly based on what I see from RUclips analytics. Lots of people skip throughout the film to see the shots. Which is totally fine but that stat encourages me to edits a fast paced film. Maybe one day I’ll remix some of the hunts.

The issue with getting dropped by plane, like what you see in my film, is that you are limited on where you can go unless you have a boat. We always take boats but it becomes very expensive to ship everything you need to Alaska. While I was on Kodiak; I met two guys from AZ who had reserved a boat ride out to a spot on the island where they could be dropped for day hunts. After hearing the cost and the fact that they brought meat back to a cooler in the boat sounded like a great way to do this hunt. Feel free to DM me on Instagram for more information.

I’ve been lucky to take the two largest bucks from the area we hunt. I’m not kidding. All the others are great bucks but they don’t score over 100”.
My best buck is 107”. At one point that was top 20 with a bow. The other good buck I got was 105” and it’s got some non typical points and nets low.
In Oregon, I’ve taken a 140” blacktail which is pretty equal in size with those big Sitka.

Its a tragedy but Roy Roth, best friend of Cam Hanes, was planning to take my dad and I to his spot on Kodiak. Everything was set and just a couple months before the trip Roy had an accident on a sheep hunt and passed away. He lived in Wasilla, AK. Dad and I were thinking about canceling but made a couple phone calls and Nate Simmons (Wester Hunter) and Steve Howard (Born and Raised) were able to join us for that hunt! Nate does a beautiful tribute to Roy in one of his shows and I think my Film Description here on RUclips states which one.
