She earned the hell out of that little statuette. What a role, what a performance.

She did her own singing in the movie. That alone is deserving of this Oscar.

Sissy Spacek is such a classic beauty...high cheekbones, big eyes, beautiful soft hair, what's not to like...on top of those physical attributes, she is a wonderful actress...

One of the most deserved Oscars in Academy history. Any other year, this might have been Mary Tyler Moore's, but there is just no topping this performance.

Sissy Spacek is literally a gift of an actor, she's amazing in everything she does and deserves a 2nd Oscar, it's also a catastrophe that she hasn't received those big Honourary awards like Cecil B De Mille or from AFI, despite giving us great films like Badlands, Carrie, 3 Women etc

She gave a great acceptance speech, simple and short. Thanked everyone, and DIDN"T forget to thank Loretta Lynn! I love Sissy Spacek and Coal Miner's Daughter.

This beautiful, ethereal actress has made jumpsuits cool 35 years ago. I loved her in Carrie!

She was terrific in Coal Miner's Daughter. But she really showed her acting ability in Carrie. She will always be remembered by her role as Carrie White.

All these performances were extraordinary. Spacek deserved her win, no question, but each of these women was amazing in their respective roles.

Sissy did an amazing job. Imagine how difficult it was for her portraying the great country singer legend. The Oscar was well deserved here.

More impressive than the singing all the songs is the fact that she literally practiced Loretta voice to a T by listening to a tape recording.

Sissy's win was definitely one of the best choices by the AMPAS for this category. Her Loretta Lynn was truly astounding, and not merely an imitation: it was a reinterpretation, bringing Spacek's nuances to Lynn's music. Besides the singing, she also acted brilliantly.
