I am ordering one today. It has been a hard decision but your review put me over the top. I really like your perspective and the elements you choose to include. I cant wait to get in the air with this little beauty.
Cpt Drone. Another informative great tutorial/video. Appreciate all your hard work to keep us in you tube land informed and up to date on all the latest UAV Tech available :). Keep up the good work.
I now own both versions. 6s is the way to go! The extra weight and low end grunt makes it fly more like a 5in. And the flight times are considerably longer. (The 4s version does seem faster on the top end but the battery usually starts to sag by the time you at max speed)
Me Riley Steve! It’s like your flying a missile. I have been thinking about trying fpv after your last vid when I checked out that affordable combo. I think this might be too much for a soon to be first timer, but wow... sweet performance! I know it’s good when I see a seasoned vet like yourself getting and being so excited. I love the crosshairs on the picture it too, it goes back to me saying it looks like your flying a missile or a jet. Thanx for all the info. Too good!
I thought a lower discharge rate and a higher capacity will giver you more flight time and a higher voltage gives you more power? and is it possible for a very high discharge 4s to have similar performance as a low discharge 6s?
All depends on the drone. The Petrel is a race drone of sorts so it wants power. If you have a LONG RANGE drone, then the motors are designed to be efficient and you can trickle power to them. Those drones are not concerned with discharge rate (i.e., C Rating)
Had my Parrot132 since May2020. Nothing compares for the PRICE + 6s capable go try look for another bnf 3in 6s toothpick for under $120. Aint none. I do recommend buying another frame and it can carry a 550-650mah 6s but reduces performance cause of weight.Dont use the y cord if can afford a proper xt30 6s lipo. The only bad since if had it so long is the tpu can/will break loose and touch the props. Change the props to the Avan 3" props for slight performance gain
How does it handle in the air between the 4S and the 6S? Any issues with the added weight from the 6S battery? And you got as a long a flight as I used to with my old Spark! Also, and I stole this idea from Joshua Bardwell, a good way to monitor your battery voltage is to added not just the full battery voltage, but also have the cell voltage. I find that to be a lot more helpful. Especially if you switch between different cell sizes, the voltages will be different, but the cell voltage will always be the same. Then you can tell if you are pushing the cells dangerously low.
Rick Britton, Great 👍 review, your amazing, you always bring the coolest content, This could be my first Fpv drone, I will definitely by the radio master controller, but the goggles will be the hardest, decision and cost, my eye 👁 sight is not very good ,I need to go and have them checked, I was born cross eyed, and had 5 surgerys to cut nreves to help make it straight, but it is really getting blury, I think the only way I will be able to fly is with Digital, but what a amazing drone, flight ✈️ time is off the chart. Thank you again CAPTAIN DRONE for another great 👍 review. Sincerely Rick from Mo and God bless 🙏 you and your family 👪
Love that video, I can see where to look for the Battery. Is it hard to put a buzzer or not necessary? What PNP stands for Because they give you many option on the receiver to choose from and I am confused (PNP , FRSKY XM+ -,FLSKY A8S V2 , CROSSFIRE NANO)? Thanks
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I was thinking getting the RadioMaster TX16S 2.4G 16CH? But what options should I pick? PNP or the others? I am on the website and do not know what options to choose? Thanks
Oh man, I have been steering clear of 6s batteries but at $17 (need 2) and $114 for the drone it's tempting. All my builds are 5/6 inch and I have bought a Diatone 349 as well as a Tinyhawk freestyle 2 (awsome little quad) Since I can't build it for $114 maybe it's time for a 6s.
Hey Captn', awesome video! I'm new to FPV but really considering diving in with this drone and the shopping list you posted. the drone linked page has many models with different receivers. Which one would I have to buy to be compatible with the RadioMaster TX16S? Also, does the drone + 6S battery weigh over 249g? Thanks!!
Thanks for the review captain! I have a question, do you think one reason the battery life is so long is because along with it being so light, it uses two blade props instead of the usual 3? I've read 2 blades are more efficient since there is less drag. Maybe you covered that in a previous episode, but I can't remember :)
what do the different receiver types mean and which one to buy? I have no clue what these mean. PNP; FRSKY XM+; FLSKY A8S V2; FRSKY XM+; CROSSFIRE NANO

Thanks for the great review. I am new to this hobby and I have purchased a tarantis qx7 radio. Can I bind this quad to the radio? I was going to get the tiny hawk but someone said it needs to bind to D8 and I don't know if the taranis will do this...no stupid questions right? lol
