@@marlabridges1984when you’re in a live on RUclips and are actively participating in them you can be randomly gifted a membership. I think there’s a place on your RUclips account where you need to say that you’ll “accept Memberships” though but I’m not entirely sure where that is

Then it’s a bit random but your chances increase if you’re watching the live stream, liked the stream, and commenting/ chatting a lot - basically the more engaged you are during the live stream, the better your chances of being gifted a membership when someone else donates memberships

For the hijab one, I wear the hijab and a lot of us tend to go thru our own photos when posting to ensure that we and our friends’ aren’t exposed. We just tack on stickers & it is not that hard. It’s so weird that OP’s friend was so respectful of her belief beforehand but then doesn’t respect when she states that she just doesn’t want her hair exposed.
the fact that she picked those ones when there was over 30 others without OP ?? and say she thought OP was being dramatic even though it’s been established for a while that pics of her hijab-less stay in the group chat ?? it was a conscious choice for her to use those. she liked how she looked in them and that overrode her respect for her longtime friend’s religious beliefs
Phones these days make it so easy to draw on pictures and takes almost no effort I can’t believe she wouldn’t do even the minimal effort for her moh/bestie since kindergarten

It doesn’t make sense to me with how much they talked about finances and budgeting for the wedding that the cost of the dress apparently never came up *once*, until she found her dream dress

As a parent of an 11 yr old and 8 yr old, it is absolutely unacceptable to rely on a child to care for a mentally unwell parent.
So I’m only about half an hour into listening, but I absolutely love this live stream 😂 It legit just feels like I’m listening in on my friend group talk about a crazy story while hanging out together

Some times you need to clean the whole closet! I recently tried to bring my brother back in my life and after multiple times I was nice and warned him and according to him I am a "toxic victim" also fairly confident you can not read the whole story on a live or anywhere 😅 but I did not grow up with rainbows and sunshine 😂

I think it is worse that she feels like a third wheel when they are together , than that she is in the wedding party , particularly as she has a boyfriend. I do think it is concerning how little he listened to her.

Okay, so, the mom who needs constant care story... that absolutely isn't the 12 year old's job at all. That said, leaving a woman they knew needed full time care alone was not the way to handle this situation. Dad didn't just leave the wife with his son, he left her with another adult. I get that his daughter was in pain, but the friend is still the one that left the woman in the care of a child and he doesn't get to pin that on dad. This is really no different than if the friend had left a young child with the 12 year old.
It is an entirely separate issue that the 12 year old shouldn't be expected to step up and really not what we should be focusing on.

The hijab one really upset me. I have a client that started wearing one and had post on her fb asking people if they could remove all photos with her without one. I instantly went to the business and personal photos and either cropped or removed and made sure she was ok with what was kept and cropped. That is not a friend. Feels like the bride only took it down to keep the wedding not cause she understood or respected someone's faith. Garbage person. Ur a way better person then me cause I wouldn't keep the friendship or go to the wedding.
Also a Christian and grew up in "Riley type country " and know that's a big no no.

So with the best friend ex in the wedding party story.... what would compromise have been? There is no compromise between "she is in the party" and "she is not in the party". There isn't a middle ground there. I think OP needs to admit that she DOES have problems with Liz, because she wouldn't have felt so strongly about this if she was perfectly okay with her, which means there are a lot of feelings being shoved down here that are going to blow up one day.
Also, you absolutely should walk away from a fight sometimes. If you know you or the other person are not in the correct headspace to have a productive "fight", then walk away. As my therapist loves to say: "You don't have to attend every fight you are invited to".
Oh my goodness, my husband of 13+ years took me on a long walk, crossing a river, along the cliffs overlooking the ocean, holding hands the whole time, and he proposed next to one of the most beautiful beach and ocean views on that walk. It was fantastic. I highly recommend. :-)

Alright, Riley, the "I grew up in the South" line about being wary about tattoos doesn't fly. I saw a higher tattoos to person ratio when I lived in TN and NC than I have in my time living up north. People down south get tattoos all the time, it's not a taboo thing.

There is currently an 8 hour difference between California and the UK. That'll change for daylight savings, so it's best to just Google it! I have to all the time because I live in AZ which doesn't even have daylight savings

That’s a pretty rude comment over an accidental mistake don’t you think? It was like 3 sentences and the format can be completely different that how she’s used to reading things. You don’t have to like all the guests that’s your business but you don’t need to grill someone over a accident Or are you perfectly perfect on a consistent and constant basis?

1. John literally had to completely reread sections of his first story multiple times 😅 I don’t see you rudely jumping on him for that. (Sam and Sophia do the same thing all the time too and it *is* their job)
2. She’s totally new to this and pretty sure this isn’t her job - she’s just a super fun guest host right now
3. It’s so easy to slip up or lose a spot when reading, especially in a high stakes scenario.
But congrats to you - apparently you’re perfect and have never stumbled over your words when reading aloud to the class or something similar like that, if you’re making this kind of judgement. That’s so impressive 👏 👏 👏
Side note - if small mistakes irritate you so much that you felt like you had to leave a nasty comment, then don’t listen to the live streams ever. Just wait for the edited videos where they sometimes remove the goofs.
Or better yet, you can find a different channel where the AI robots read the story to you 👌 Those of us who love and enjoy Ok Storytime content love it *because* of the fun human element, goofs and mistakes are all a part of being human, and it’s so fun to get to join in on their lives and feel like a part of the friend group just listening to the fun stories
