12 years with Ford, 24 total as a mechanic. I just left the last ford dealership i will ever work for. Ford has some major warranty policy problems. Ford will actually charge back the dealer for all repairs they feel un necessary and do not pay the dealers for the time a mechanic spends on diagnostic time. Make your complaint 3 times and get it lemon lawed out.. my apologies bro..
Mr Smith Dude what exactly happens when they declare it a Lemon?? Do U get a New Ride or do they make the Repairs?? I’m at the beginning of my Process. I hv a 2018 XLT 5.0 That Drinks Oil like it’s Thirsty and my Dash is beginning 2 Warp😕😕😕!!! I had a Ranger for 15 Years with no Major Issues.
@@mrstarr2520 Thank you for sharing that info. Jeez, I shopping for a new truck right now and it's hard to walk the minefield of BS these days. These things are so expensive. THanks again.
Jason. Don't feel too bad I bought 2013 f150 xlt ecoboost 4x4 and the darn thing got a cold 2 or 3 times. Every time it would rain it would cough. So after the 2nd time at 24 thousand miles I took it in I traded it in for a limited 2014 f150 EcoBoost that truck had brake problems twice. Once I was driving out of the dealer and tested the brakes went right back in to the service department and gave them the keys. Took 2.5 weeks to get it back they. The truck leaked all the brake fluid into the booster they replaced the master cylinder but not booster. I told them this will go out. They told me no it won't well guess what happened at 30k miles they were changing the brake system again. Had front drive shafts go out at 24k miles also. Timing chains ho out at 40 k
I bet you have the warped dash. Take a look from outside your window. Unless you have the lariat dash it's most likely have it. That said...the warped dash doesn't bother me. Some people got it replaced and now the dash rattles....its barely noticeable and I think everyone should just live with it. It doesn't affect the operation of the vehicle at all ...

I own 2 ford pickups a 2011 ford ranger and a 1994 f 250 with a 460 gas I haven't had much trouble with either one. I am fussy about oil changes 2500 to 3000 miles I can change my own oil with these older pickups but the newer pickups look like a pain in the button to change. Why do they make all vehicles more difficult to work on. Guess I'll just keep driving my old ford pickups. They run great.
Maybe some critical thinking ON YOUR OWN is in order. You kids listen to this drivel on the interweb and get all flustered. You have NO IDEA the source, credibility, or situations. You just take it on face value because....welll....it's on your phone.
Take it to another Ford dealer bro, there are good and bad dealers. Never do business there again and you should give out their name too so people know about them.
Yeah, horrible, that’s how all of my 5.0 and 3.5T F150’s have made between 180-255kmi and still running strong. EVERY manufacturer has some issues. Sucks that you have a couple annoying ones. Ford will fix the dash, and the engine if testing verifies excess consumption. Btw, I’m no ford fanboy. I also have 40+ silverados which generally make 200kmi w/o anything serious. We’ve upped our replacement from 150kmi to 200+ in 2010 and haven’t regretted it. I’m done with Ram, and one of my 2 Toyota’s drinks oil like crazy.
curtis lane not necessarily. Some people save for years to be well off enough to live in areas like this and buy nice ass vehicles. I come from a family with a little of both worlds on each side and just because you live in a nice neighborhood doesn’t mean you have money to throw away like that. It just means you manage your money a lot better than others.
My coworker bought a brand new GMC truck, drove off the lot and about a mile down the road, the truck literally broke down and had to be towed back to the dealer, does that mean don't buy GMC truck also? He got another GMC truck that day and it runs just fine. Look, it happens to anything you buy, regardless if it's a truck or not, you will have a bad apple sometimes, just don't going around saying all ford f150 are bad, look around the internet I guarantee you you'll find one for every make model and year.
Agreed 100% consider this. Ford sold an estimated 909,330 F150's in 2018. If 3% of them are utter turds that is approximately 27,000 bad ones and 882,330 good ones. My 2019 Raptor has had zero issues with only about 2,000 miles on it so far. I average about 17 to 17.5 MPG, and love every minute I drive it. ALL manufactures no matter how good they are, have a tendency to have the occasional problem with some of their vehicles that roll off the assembly line. GM/Chevy is having reported issues with their 8 speed transmissions, Rams are recalling a bunch right now for seat belts and I have also read they are experiencing issues with some of the tech inside. Sounds like the OP got a bad one, it happens.
Picked 2019 F150 Lariat FX4, Moonroof, 10 speed 2.7L V6 EcoBoost and loving it. None of the issues you indicated so far. Engine and the turbo kick sounds so nice and powerful.
I sadly made the decision to keep an 2012 F-150 ecoboost that my brother in law offered me because he couldn’t afford the payments anymore… I instantly said yes because I thought it was a great deal since he didn’t asked for any cash or anything, i just had to do the monthly payments… I thought it was a great truck until started doing wierd transmission issues, and electrical problems… It struggles to get me to highway speed limit, and it cries when it force it to over pass slow drivers… I recently had the chance to drive my bother’s 2019 V8 silverado, that thing is a monster.. I sincerely regret keeping this piece of ford crap..
My girlfriend is strongly considering getting a 2019 F150 XLT with a 2.7. It has about 50,000 miles on it. In the three years since you posted this comment, have you experienced any issues significant or minor?
@@colinc1633 Other than a couple of factory recalls (headlight daytime lights, and a transmission update), nothing much, just minor software adjustments. There was a rattle from the front passenger side door while using B&O Sound system at high base volume, which was rectified by replacing the speaker under warranty. There was one more recall letter I received about tailgate opening itself, but I never experienced it. The dealer said they'll change the harness free of cost whenever in next, but I ended up trading it in for 2022 F150 Lariat Powerboost Hybrid model a month ago as our travel trailer and camping gear started getting heavier day by day. No dash warping issues, no whistling noises, etc. Just make sure that the vehicle has been serviced regularly and all bulletins and recalls have been taken care of. I wish you the best if picking 2019 F150 2.7L Ecoboost as it is a very good engine. In normal city driving, it just works like a small 2.7L tamed engine giving best mileage, but when needed under load, with twin turbos, it roars like a fast, powerful beast with a massive low RPM torque. You'll like it.
@@isailopez4132 sounds like your brother in law is a smart man, unloading a worn out turd onto you, he knew a sucker when he seen you. 7 yrs between trucks makes a big difference eh?
Michael Devore how the hell have you racked up 65k miles in only 2years of ownership, max. Thats a tremendous amount of driving bud. Especially on the farm
@@willgeebanger132 I'm not sure if you've had a bad experience with dash removal from a dealership in the past, but I've had to replace heater control solenoids and add gps/remote starters and not had any weird rattling sounds afterwards. As long as you properly release the clips and dont snap any parts, it should all go back together as original assembly.
@Aghilas I get that, but it's not like this is normal in an f150, I own and have ridden in plenty. He got a shitty one, that they're willing to repair completely free of charge. Trucks are built by people, people make mistakes, only good people admit to and fix their mistakes. That is all I'm saying.
Jesse Schmidt so the oil consumption isn’t a problem to you? People don’t assemble the engine. The 5.0 has been out since forever and people are still having oil consumption issues? There’s two Tundras out there with a million miles on the clock and neither one of them lost a drop of oil. This is a new truck under 500 miles and he just got a bad one?
@@365handle Yes, he just got a bad one. Just like thousands of Toyota trucks shipped and delivered with low oil and improperly programmed transmissions leading to catastrophic failure 2017-2019. Dont be a fanboy no truck is perfect. If the company makes it right, there is no problem, if they say "you bought it so it's your problem" obviously that's an issue.
@@brandonorozco8358 And a lot of people aren't. What's your point? Every car manufacturer have problems with new vehicles that have been given a redesign with new equipment. I'm not denying the fact that people are having these issues, but you can't just say it's all of them.
I work in michigan and been in the auto motive field for 12 years and can tell you any domestic car/truck are basically built to be throw away vehicles. they do not perfect anything any more
I have a 2018 XLT 302A and 5 liter engine with 8k miles. I have heard the whistle on occasion but it doesn't bother me. My guess is it's the airbox. No other issues and I absolutely love my truck!!
I was told it's the transmission that's making a whistle. Mine does it but doesn't affect the way it drives. Also the 5.0 engine sounds like its rattling. Anyone else have that issue?
So far my 2019 F150 has been flawless. I didnt go with the 5.0 , I got a xlt 4x4 supercab with a 3.5 ecoboost. Your oil consumption issue is a known problem, Take it to another dealer, all of them do warranty work.
I have an F150 5.0 but thankfully I'm hard of hearing so it only bothers everyone else! I think you have a great case for the lemon law. Worth looking into. Good luck!
There is a slight chance that during the pre delivery inspection, the technician did not check the oil level in the engine before it hit the lot. These newer 5.0L use 8.85qt of oil now, not 7.7qt the previous generation used. So someone could have screwed up.
Your engine is probably not broke in yet and the rings have not seated yet. Fill it with oil and go run down the hwy like you stole it and they have put such good rings in the engine they can’t break it yet. I’m a GM Automotive Technician and every time we have a oil consumption problem we have to do it and show GM that it is using to much oil. I have fixed several types of oil consumption problems on different manufactures for this problem with just running the engine hard to break in the rings. Over and over again it’s been the same thing people don’t want a new engine in their new vehicle and so they ask me what can I do or they do to fix it without replacing the engine. The rings are so good they have problems sealing until they are broken in then the oil problem goes away and they are much happier with this method then getting a new engine because they think the new engine is going to do the same thing again. Can’t help with the other things but go to a different dealership to see what they are going to do to fix it. You can always have it bought back and get a new truck but it will take about three to six months for that to happen and you don’t get all your money back because you have a used vehicle and you are getting a new one again. I understand you have spent a lot of money for the truck but Ford is having problems with all their vehicles from what I have read and they are the worst on getting them fixed even under warranty. In case you don’t know what they do for the engine oil consumption problem is that they will change your oil and filter and if you need any oil added you have to bring it back to them to add oil and they will document this and see what Ford will do if anything. If it was my truck I would add oil to it and use the oil that you are going to keep in it for the oil changes. Then go down the Hwy and run the crap out of it is the easiest way I can describe it. Don’t try and blow your engine up but run it hard on and off the gas up to the speed limit and then slow down and floor it let off and do it again for several times and make sure the engine is at normal coolant temperature so you don’t over heat it. But you do want it to get warm enough to seal the rings in. If you don’t want to do that then take a long trip on the Hwy for about five hundred miles and that should seal the rings. Make sure you don’t run low on your oil. You may have to take oil with you to add oil to it. It does take time and miles for the new rings to seat in and you said that you only have around five hundred miles on the engine and the rings are not broke in or not sealing yet because they have not seated yet. I had a Ford truck that had ten thousand miles on it and I ran it hard and it stopped using oil. And it was a trade off for a new Chevrolet truck. I understand you are truly upset and you should be. But some things take time to break in to go away and others will never stop using oil in this case. Good luck and this is just my opinion.
@@chuckmiller5763 I was thinking what you wrote was smack, then I went and configured a 250 lariat super crew 4x4. I had no clue it was so close. I guess my next truck is going to be a 250. There's no point to buying a 150 anymore. Close to the same price and just not nearly as capable.
I drove away with a brand new Lariat 502A package FX4 fully loaded with upgraded rims/flares/box cover with full color match kit for $52,000. And that's Canadian currency so it would be much less in American dollars. I'm sorry but this guy got shafted.
I was a diehard Ford customer for years. Sometimes issues like Jacon C are easy to see on the internet, but are an anomaly. In this case I think he is one of MANY 2018+ F150 customers who are sick of their 5.0 trucks. The saddest part is the almost universal common attribute that Ford refuses to do anything about it. There are way too many other good truck alternatives to put up with this, and I would encourage potential buyers to look at other manufacturers until FoMoCo fixes these issues and takes care of their loyal customers.
Mine is a 2019 going through the same thing. Been having this problem since I bought it.Supposedly there is nothing wrong with it. Have been wasting 3 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles.Transmission is not shifting right. I Take it in and they say nothing is wrong with it. I’m out of warranty and now they’re saying something is wrong. Called the ford company and they say nothing is wrong. Wanna say to keep calling the ford company so they can realize that im not the only one having issues too.Maybe they can make a recall on it. Still owe $30,000 on my junk truck. I don’t think the mechanics at the dealership even know what they’re doing either
My neighbor bought an 18 F150 last Oct. Same oil issue as yours developed soon after he bought it.After all the testing was complete Ford installed a long block in May. That's exactly what will happen to you.
Toyota makes the only reliable truck across the board but damn they are ugly as hell. I think Ford makes a great quality truck overall and just like anything we buy you never know. I drive a Ram with a 5.7l Hemi and it's been a great truck for the 2 years I have owned it with zero issues. The only thing I would never buy again is any GM vehicle.
At 8000 miles my 2018 Silverado has had a noise that sounds like a loose piece of plastic while accelerating. I’ve masked it with an exhaust to deal with it. And the transmission is far from satisfying when it changes from 4 cylinders to 8. It’s ridiculous that we pay this amount of money for a vehicle to run into these issues.
I have a 2019 super cab long box 4x4 xlt 1700 miles 5 litre It is the truck that my old 1990 gmc was . Gorgeous and no issues whatsoever . Except for my dealership installed my tonneau wrong. When they said they would fix it , I told them that your time to do a proper job was in the beginning. I reinstalled it and it works. With your hard tonneau down , see if you can push it to one side and get your hand inside to open the tonneau without dropping the tailgate.
Let's start with the comment the "worse dealer in SC". You have no obligation to go to that dealer for any service. Go somewhere else. They may tell you service and warranty has to be done with them but your warranty is good at ANY North American Ford dealer. Second, how long had your truck sit on the lot before you bought. You post it as built in August 2018, but posted in April 2019, 8 months after it was built. Part of the begining of the run where most issue seem to appear. That truck had been sitting on the lot since September 2018. Cooking in the sun can warp the dash. I agree that's an issue, but personally I never buy a vehicle that has been sitting on the lot. I order each and every one. I just received delivery on my 2019 Lariat, went over it for 2 hours with the sales person and brought in the service manager when I found the oil level (as shipped from Ford) was at the lower third on the dip stick. The level was brought up to the full line before I took it for a test drive (prior to signing all the paperwork). The service manager said vehicles will have oil at least to the low line and it should be topped off by the dealer prior to delivery (he apologized it was missed in PDI). Third, every auto manufacture produces vehicles with issues, some major, most minor. I bought a Porsche which the AC would only run on max cold, the exhaust rattled, and 2 tires were out of balance. The dealer repaired them and that was that. Find yourself another dealer service department you feel comfortable working with. Go in and calmly explain what issue you have and ask them to look at and take care of them. I have a great working relationship with the service dept at my dealer. They take care of any issues I bring up and with my 2017 Lariat, brought up ones they found (software updates, found nail in tire during The Works tire rotation, loose mounting bolt on a running board, etc) and took care of them. I don't see an issue with getting a new long block (5.0 repair) and there is a fix for the transmission whine, Ford does replace the tranny.
LOL, you buy a new truck only to get the long block repaired or replaced and you say that you have no issue with it!!!! Are you freaking serious!!! You must love your Ford even when you get a POS one.
Maybe the guy that filled it with oil messed up. Why jump to conclusions that it burns oil. I drive 40-50k per year and traded my last 5.0 at 270,000 miles and only changed one coil pack. The trans was perfect. I bought another one and it’s awesome. I’m glad I didn’t see this earlier or you make the vid earlier and make a decision not to buy a ford. Oh yeah, I just looked at my dash and it’s slightly warped. Never noticed it before now. I don’t care at all. Life’s too short to whine about every little thing that doesn’t go as expected
Well my 2018. 5.0 is having the Same Oil Issue and Ford has even Acknowledged there is indeed Something wrong 🙄🙄🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️!!! I’m a Ford Man but wish I had went with the Tacoma.
I just bought a 2019 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost (23 miles on it) FX4 WITH the added sport appearance, the sticker was just lower than 56,000, I walked out the door at 48,500. Negotiating is key. Also, I haven’t had any of these problems with my truck. I think he’s just got one of the bad batches. Also, mine just passed 1K miles and a 8 hour road trip. Couldn’t be happier.
What did you do to get them down so much ?? Everytime I asked for a break or some wiggle room I get every excuse in the book as to why they can't do it.. I have great credit, and $10k to put down but I'm not buying over MSRP. New or used !
@@OGxSPARKY you have to think, that was in a market 4 years ago. Deals like I got back then are unheard of now. I was also what they called “Ford Family” since I had bought two other vehicles from them in the past.
Agree. People use every excuse in the book to defend their brand. Mine is not the only bad one. Read the comments. There are thousands in the same boat as me.
@@jasoncombs9607 agreed. The state of American cars really is sad. They're all cranking out garbage with no quality control and nothing is built to last. Its sad when the Japanese are making better midsize trucks than the people who are famous for loving trucks. Shit even KIA and Hyundai have better warranties.
Had the same issue on a 2019 with the high pitched noise but it was around 2600rpm. I believe it was the airbox leaking in the back corner. I have swapped out with a cold air kit and it has fixed my issue. I can still here the air sucking but only at higher rpms as when im pulling a camper and its not so high pitched or nearly as loud as it was. As far as the other issues i cannot relate but will say I did have a vibration issue with a tire which Michelin replaced under warranty and the dealer installed. 18k miles and going good without any issue.
Wheel bearing not true! My dad had a 99 f150 that lasted for 550k and now has a 2010 that’s already hit 600k. Other than brakes and oil only issue he had was with the 99 when he needed to rebuild the rear diff for 2k. Just because you have bad experiences with a company doesn’t mean everyone does!
I totally agree. I bought a 2012 f150 FX4 and after takin it home a checking it over I noticed I could see the green primer on the bottom inside of the front doors. I took it back to the dealer, and they told me pretty much too deal with it. I said nope! I called FoMoCo and within 2hours the dealers ship -Gary Yeomans Ford in Daytona called me and they re-painted the inside.
All I can say is that I found a video that people talking about that for consumption problem turned out to be that the dipstick that was installed on that motor is too short. There are videos online talking about that Ford is replacing the dipsticks on those engines.
Richard Skipper They change the process of coating the cylinder walls with some anti-friction shit and it’s not seating well with the piston rings and it’s Causing A ton of blow by ..... The only way to fix this is to replace the long black
Just bought a new 2019 Toyota Tundra Sr5 crewmax in Cement gray, got it for 38.5k with the Tss Off Road package and I love the truck!!!... glad I didn't go through getting a F150...
Justin The Tundra actually has one if lowest death rates. That being said I wouldn’t want to be on the passenger side of a a Tundra in a one vehicle crash off the road.
I have 23k miles in about a year and a half and have had literal zero issues (knock on wood). I have a 2018 STX with the 5.0. Other than the low oil, these are problems you probably would have noticed on a test drive. Especially the hump on the dash. If you drove it or even looked at the truck before you bought it you should have definitely not bought the truck. So at least that part is on you. The raddling when you let off the gas is a VCT timing thing when the engine is cold I have it and have had it the whole time and it hasn't done anything. Also you should not have paid OVER sticker my goodness you should have walked out the door paying like 45k maybe less.
Don’t be a dick. It’s hard to see all the flaws when you’re blinded by that new car smell and shiny paint. Same shit happened to me. I sold it and bought a super clean 2013 Raptor for the same price and never been happier.
Wow! I had the exact issues with my 2018. Got rid of it for these reasons. The whistle was the worst. Brought mine in twice. The technician at ford said to me that the sound was normal and we even took out another f150 truck off the lot that was making the same rattle whistle sound. My dash was warped. I was expecting a better truck when I bought that lemon. Traded mine in for a Dodge Challenger rt and will be buying a ram next year. As for ford I will never buy again knowing they have no scruples selling junk to hard working people like us.
Love, love love my 2018 F150. Have had 1 2017 with 5 litre, one 2018 3:7 litre and currently run a 2018 5 litre. They are fantastic. Perfect, not but better than the others. Have had them too.
Tikka T3 I’m sorry to hear that...my friends and I are “duners” and we use Ford trucks to pull heavy trailers to the dunes since the mid 90’s...never had any problems.
I drive a 2011 F150 crewcab XL trim 4x4 5.0 V8 with 278k on it. It still thinks it’s a Shelby Mustang when you stomp on the gas. I had the input seal go bad on the rear differential about 100k ago. Replaced it myself, approximately $10 part. No leaks anywhere else. Haven’t needed an alignment yet. Replaced spark plugs once, Brake rotors once. No other malfunctions, oil changes every 5K. I expect reliable, inexpensive ownership from Ford and I haven’t been disappointed in 40 years of driving them.
Do not buy a RAM 1500 and think you can avoid problems. My 1400 RAM broke down in it's first 1000 miles in northern Wyoming, 50 miles from cell phone service. It broke down four more times after that. Dodge charged me $900 dollars and said it is fixed, it's not, so I traded it for a 2019 F150. I test drove the F150 after reading your review and did not find any trouble.
Bought a 2013 f150 xl reg cab with 50,000 miles for $10,000 cash. It just has the base v6 of that year, but it will do just about everything I ask of it. Parts are easily avalible and installing remote start, block heater, back up cam, and new head unit was easy. Sometimes the best buys are used ones that have been used enough that you know they arent lemons and still have life in them.
Not a ford guy here. But thats what i did with my 2018 silverado. I wanted a new truck but it has 28k miles with clean shop history and was taken care of fairly well. So far *knock on wood* no issues whatsoever. But i spent 27k not 10k lol
I have a 2018 XLT Sport with 2.7 Ecoboost. Have 32K on it now. I do have the warp in the dash and honestly didn’t think to much of it until your video. I have not noticed the rest of the issues you mentioned. Hope you get it resolved. All in all I think the F-150 is a great vehicle.
Know someone from the rental with a fleet of ecoboost 2019 F-150’s these rental units are not as well treated as a non rental F-150, so far they are trouble free, except that pesky seat recall!
Hope you bought the extended warranty and hope you do everything little thing the service rep tells you to get done to it. Because replace a turbo at 90k is not cheap. I can tell you from experience.
I just used a 2019 f150 from u haul to pull my boat and a load in bed. It man handled the long hills. 5.0 has some good grunt. Drives nice. Makes me want to buy one.
Never had any of these issues. Hole you get it figured out. I've been using mine for 3 years for landscaping hauling rock and what not. It's been a beast 💪
I bought a 2019 XLT Supercrew 4x4 with a 5.0 in 2020 with 15,000 miles on it for $27,000. The only issue I have had that are in this video is the dash warping witch doesn't bother me since it was used. I recently have had a VCT solenoid acting up and making it stumble at isle and stall sometimes. Im going to replace all 4 since they are about $25 each. I have 60k on the truck now and Im happy with it so far.
No he won’t. I’ve owned 5 Fords since 2012. 3 F250s and 2 F150s. Not one problem at all. Never even a hiccup. All manufactures have issues. He just got a bad one. It sucks but it damn sure beats driving a POS GOAT or a Bail me out GM Product.
Gary Collins I’ve been a ford guy my whole life and I bought an 18 5.0. Too many issues to count and the quality has went downhill big time compared to my older fords I have had. These 18-19 5.0’s are absolute pieces of shit
thank you for taking the time with this review. it's very helpful for me and others. i have a 2016 expedition and i'm very happy with it. also have a 2015 f250 and its great.
I had and recently traded in my 2013 Taurus SHO. Loved the car and maintained it meticulously. However around 85k miles the left rear turbo was leaking, weld bead inside the trunk had started rust away. Traded in for a 2017 Honda Accord V6 Touring Coupe. Very happy. I'm done with Ford
Mine took about 10k miles to wear in and stop using ridiculous amounts of oil. 2019 f150 5.0. Was about a quart every 2k miles up to the first 10k miles. Now its good, used about a quart over 8k miles. Just keep driving. Takes a long time for these new ford engines to seat apparently. Hopefully that means slow to wear out too...
turbodieseldumptruck it’s hit or miss friend unfortunately. The valve train and the rods tend to be weak points in these motors for whatever reason. We had two we used for work horses in the log woods and both dropped valves around 100,000 miles along with my ole ladies mustang when we first got together around 80,000 miles. It was cheaper to just buy a used motor than to fix the old ones. Hate to be that dude but when it comes to V8 trucks Chevy is your best bet as far as power and reliability. Dodge too if your willing to deal with the computer/tranny issues (mainly 5 speeds) and with the right mechanic those are fixed relatively easily. Those two are all we run now as work horses and we couldn’t be more satisfied.
@@DStabs720 This is the first vehicle i have ever ran that long. The first three oil changes were at 2.5k, 5k, 10k, now 18k. All with used oil analysis to confirm and good fully synthetic oil. Last one looks good and could go even longer according to Blackstone labs,, but 7,500-8k is my goal. I used to do 4k oil changes across the board, but this truck holds almost 9 quarts of oil. That is a lot more oil to wear out and the oil analysis confirms it is good....At least for how i use my truck. If you're just changing your oil at an interval you really don't know. Best $26 I ever spent.
I've been an auto mechanic for over 20 years. Many of the problems I see daily could have easily been avoided by simply following the vehicles maintenance schedule. I use a program on my computer called Automotive Wolf car care software to keep track of all the maintenance for my 3 cars, a truck and even a generator. It automatically can send you text message reminders when any type of service is due. Two of my vehicles have over 200,000 miles and have never needed any repairs. Want to save money? Follow your maintenance schedule!
The oil is the break in , next oil change run T6 that will stop!! The air noise is wind vents in front on bumper.. Rattle is fuel pump it will level out later..

OMG. I feel your pain. Thanks for confirming my decision on a used 5.7 liter Sequoia. I'm also lucky to be alive from a bad brake job at a Ford dealership years earlier.
Thank you for this review. I was curious about the 10 speed. I would suggest getting Ford Corporate involved and if they won’t help then I would check into pursuing the lemon law. You should not have this many issues with a 55k truck. I have 2018 Silverado LTZ with the 8 speed transmission and it has been a nightmare. I have less than 10k miles and less than a year old. I pushed the issue and GM is going to replace the tranny now. I feel your pain. This trucks cost too much to have these problems.
My work Silverado started making noise in the tranny. Reverse went and then it would not shift through the gears. 40k and she needed a trans. I guess they all have issues. Lucky for me, my Ford has been fantastic
I have to say, I bought a 2019, 2.7 EcoBoost, and I love it. Didn't he inspect it, big deal about the dashboard, I noticed my dashboard, it's not that big of a deal. I'm not having any problems with mine.
You provided a great service to those of us out shopping Ford f150s. I am looking at the 2015-2017 year models with 5.0L and six speed transmission. I know yours is the 2018/2019. Thanks so much for posting. Your presentation was very informative. Will now be looking for those problems when I eventually start kicking tires
You sure that whistle isn't from the transmission? All these truck do it mine does it's only in like 1st and 3rd after that I don't hear it. Other than that I don't have any of these issues
I have a 18, the only issue I have is the rear leafs are squeaking, probably from mud and water. My truck was built in Kansas, thank God. U ever been to detroit?
I have a 18 also. 5 Liter Super cab. I've had it 8 months have 15000 (I like driving) on it now and the only issue was the recall for the block heater. I drive it hard, I've always had a lead foot and I'm 68 and by hard I don't mean idiot. I respect the speed limits but like getting to it as quick as possible.
I bought my 2017 F-150 brand new also, I bought the 3.5 XLT 302A and have only had the transmission issue. Turned out to be a program issue and has been reprogrammed and repaired. I now have zero issues and love my truck. I also put 41,000 miles on my truck in 14 months and no not from working because I am retired. If you do not give them the opertunity to repair any issue you are not allowing a fix. To many people want to give up so easy and never allow the dealer a chance to repair or correct issues.
Why did you buy it? Did you test drive the truck? Whistle? Well with 400 miles you surely would have noticed the whistle or the trim piece. Or even the dash. Number 2 you never crank a engine then check the oil for your FYI! There is no truck using a quart or 2 of oil in 400 miles. Your dealer never did a proper PDI
I was in the market for a 5.0 F150. Scary. The more I look into Ford 150s. Eco to 5.0. The more disgusted I am. I drive a 03 Astro for 15 yrs. Zero problems!
If you’re looking for a truck.. go for a nice well maintained 2004 sierra/silverado those are built like tanks, dont waste your precious money on anything less..
1st ... it sucks that you are having problems with a new truck! 2nd ... find another dealer and call Ford customer service 3rd ... the 10 speed has been out since 2017 4th ... stop saying you paid $55k for that truck. There were discounts prior to the MSRP price and then you likely got another $12k-$15k off of that. 5th ... I hope they get you fixed up. My 2017 has 56k trouble free miles and I love it. My 2016 had 59k trouble free miles when I traded it...there is hope!
Sorry to hear your plight, Ford needs to address these issues. I know many buyers are opting for the 5.0 for various reasons (ie, towing, V8 preference over boosted V6) & Ford mechanics prefer them also. But the Ecoboost engines are being refined and are proving more reliable & competent. Unfortunately, doesn't help your situation though, like others have suggested seek counsel & be relentless!
FTBY59 Mike D You do realize he said they would replace the dash he doesn’t want that he wants a perfect truck with absolutely nothing wrong!!! He is not willing to work with his dealer!!!
Ford has offered to replace repair all his concerns so why is he whining! Take it to another dealership. Contact Ford directly. I know it sucks having 55K vehicle and these issues . But all brands have some lemons in the bunch. There are lemon laws on the books Checkout if this qualifies. Ford will push back hard legally if you go this direction Sorry for your aggravation,

@@colinc1633 Other than a couple of factory recalls (headlight daytime lights, and a transmission update), nothing much, just minor software adjustments.

Well good luck cause they're almost all like that now. That's either a decent 1/2 ton or a cheap ass 3/4 ton
welcome to truck prices. Ram is the worst offender imo
Well working in construction I don't see many that can afford a $70k truck.
HERPY DERPEDY especially in the Carolinas where wages are dirt cheap and workers rights are very limited .
LOL, you buy a new truck only to get the long block repaired or replaced and you say that you have no issue with it!!!! Are you freaking serious!!! You must love your Ford even when you get a POS one.
Lot rot happens to all vehicles that sit too long.
Even then just as long the oil is in between the low and high, shit even on low it wouldn't kill the engine
Well my 2018. 5.0 is having the Same Oil Issue and Ford has even Acknowledged there is indeed Something wrong 🙄🙄🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️!!! I’m a Ford Man but wish I had went with the Tacoma.
The old 5.0s were different than the new ones.
2017, 2.7 only issue I have is the dam sun visor rattles. 1) Turn your camera sideways when filming. 2) NEVER buy a vehicle when something is new
Vertical filming is for chicks with snapchat
I just bought a 2019 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost (23 miles on it) FX4 WITH the added sport appearance, the sticker was just lower than 56,000, I walked out the door at 48,500. Negotiating is key. Also, I haven’t had any of these problems with my truck. I think he’s just got one of the bad batches. Also, mine just passed 1K miles and a 8 hour road trip. Couldn’t be happier.
The ecoboost is fine, it's the 2018-2020 F-150 Coyote 5.0 engines
Bought a 2018 2.7 ecoboost with the lariat package for 37k brand new.
You got donked
What did you do to get them down so much ?? Everytime I asked for a break or some wiggle room I get every excuse in the book as to why they can't do it..
I have great credit, and $10k to put down but I'm not buying over MSRP. New or used !
@@OGxSPARKY you have to think, that was in a market 4 years ago. Deals like I got back then are unheard of now. I was also what they called “Ford Family” since I had bought two other vehicles from them in the past.
@@OGxSPARKY I also bought it around Christmas time so rebates were crazy around that time
You got a bad one, happens with all manufacturers, sorry man.
People that have never owned a Toyota always say it happens to all of them. It doesn't.
Get rid of it, 487 miles🤔 still under a warranty! Call FoMoCo they will honor any issue trust me. Don't ever trust the dealership.
I have a 2014 with a 5.0 almost a 100,000 . Not one single problem.
Kurt Rickenbach I have a 2014 5.0 6 speed with 120 thousand No problems at all my truck runs like a champ😎
That 5.0 was bulletproof. The new ones are literally garbage. Sad ford has come to this. And I’m a ford guy!
Richard Skipper 2 days of research lol he dunno. I’m curious too.
Same. 101K on my 2014 5.0 w/ no issues.
If I buy a new truck it would probably be a tundra
So im guessing u didnt test drive this truck b4 you purchased it.. only 400 miles im sure none of those issues just popped up!!
Hows he going to check oil consumption with a test drive.
Don’t be a dick. It’s hard to see all the flaws when you’re blinded by that new car smell and shiny paint. Same shit happened to me. I sold it and bought a super clean 2013 Raptor for the same price and never been happier.
@@nxtgen2b416 obviously, he never bought a brand new vehicle lol.
My Ford trucks have been bulletproof! 210k on this one and still pulling trailers!
2018/2019 ?
I’ve always had and loved ford trucks and I have an 18 5.0. Literally complete garbage . Worst vehicle I have ever owned period.
Tikka T3 I’m sorry to hear that...my friends and I are “duners” and we use Ford trucks to pull heavy trailers to the dunes since the mid 90’s...never had any problems.
My 2018 was made in March, 26000 miles and no issues whatsoever. Great truck.
I have a 2018 xtr crew sh box 5.0 and no issues also . I have 57 600 km on mine .
Taylor Carlson the 2011-14 XL F150's with the 3.7 were amazing trucks. You got a good buy for 10k!!!
Not a ford guy here. But thats what i did with my 2018 silverado. I wanted a new truck but it has 28k miles with clean shop history and was taken care of fairly well. So far *knock on wood* no issues whatsoever. But i spent 27k not 10k lol
My 2018 Ecoboost runs great, no issues, 9k miles, averaging 18mpgs combined.

18 mpg that's it?

Yup, I have a 2017 Ecoboost 3.5 with about 37k miles, no issues YET and it gets 18mpg combined.
Just hit 10,000 miles on my 2018 F-150 3.5 EcoBoost. No problems👍
I have a 2017 KR F150.3.5 EB. no problems yet. 41k miles

I bought a 2019 XLT Supercrew 4x4 with a 5.0 in 2020 with 15,000 miles on it for $27,000. The only issue I have had that are in this video is the dash warping witch doesn't bother me since it was used. Sadly we bought one already had the engine replaced but the new engine still burning oil
@@turbodieseldumptruck Thats your problem. You don't change your oil regularly enough. Your oil control piston rings hate you!
@@DStabs720 This is the first vehicle i have ever ran that long. The first three oil changes were at 2.5k, 5k, 10k, now 18k. All with used oil analysis to confirm and good fully synthetic oil. That is a lot more oil to wear out and the oil analysis confirms it is good....At least for how i use my truck. If you're just changing your oil at an interval you really don't know.
