  • In this video I renovate a house listed on Zillow in the Sims 3. This is a 3 bed, 1 bath, 1,080 square foot (100 square meter) two-story home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which is listed for $149,000. The home is renovated for the Williams family from the TS3 family bin.

Your videos are very relaxing. You really give me some nuggets of insight into both home design choices and psychology in general.

Finding your channel has been such a treat for me this week! I really appreciate how much thought you put into all of the creative decisions that you make- in terms of the remodel itself obviously, but also in how you edit and present your videos. I think you do such a stellar job with your before and after’s, and in particular, I think that the choice to provide small, slice-of-life clips of the sims living in their newly renovated space adds SO much charm. It brings a nice ambience, and really sells that fantasy of the family and their story.

I'm absolutely here for the "time is all we have"/tearing down the wall of oppression portion of the video. ❤

I know I'm late to the party, but I wanted you to know I'm really enjoying these Zillow remodels. Very cozy, and you clearly have done some research. I think another name for this kind of house is a "shirtwaist." According to Wikipedia, "A Shirtwaist house is a variation of the American Four Square architectural style, predominantly built at the beginning of the 20th century."

    RE: 14:50
I've always considered the dimensions of the grid in sims to be about either 3 ft or 1m, since that's the way I like to count room sizes (multiples of 3 are easy). But 2.5 ft does make more sense I think. A quick internet search confirms standard oven size is 30" - 36", and so are door widths.
If there's a 'standard size tile' texture it's usually 3x3 so the texture will tile repeatedly nicely, and in real life those are usually 12 inches. I don't think it's intended for the scale to be completely consistent with itself but also the items in game have standard sizes in real life that are different, like twin size beds being 39x74 inches IRL (3ft grid would make the game bed more like 2.8 ft by 8or9 ft, but a 2.5 ft grid would make it much too narrow)

This is so dope. NGL i don't like those "bench tables" unless i'm drinking at some kinda German themed bar or sth (and even still i get tired of it quickly) but aside from that i really liked the reno. I really like how you approach it, how you choose a family and take their tastes/favorites into account, i don't think i've ever done that. I mostly play custom Sims that i create myself and marry myself into better housing opportunities LMFAOOO or maybe build a house from scratch, but according to my own tastes (i guess i kinda make the sims have similar tastes to mine), it'¡s cool to see how you play the game. I do care about the "utility", if their dream is to be a writer there will be a writing room or writing equipment somewhere but it's not that level of custom, even thoguh i do like playing with the color wheel a lot. (Is that present in 4? maybe i couldn't find it and that's why i didn't play as much)

I can’t remember if it was this video (I’m commenting after watching these on TV with the kids), but the bit about the pebble floor cracked me up. Who knew there were such controversies in the flooring world?

It is this one and I am very honored that my nephlings are watching my silly little videos. As far as the floors go - in my pinterest ventures, I'm finding that for any design choice you could possibly make, there is a very convincing "Why I regret . . ." blog post about it. It's terrifying. We should all just live in trees or caves lest our flooring decisions ruin our lives and sully our good names.
