Casting The Sims: Part One - Side Characters

- In this series, I'll be discussing my dream casting for a film adaptation of The Sims. This video focuses on the side characters as well as the format I think would work best for bringing The Sims to life. If you hate these, just wait until you see my Bella Goth. Pro-tip: If you don't want to listen to me babble on for 19 minutes, the cast picks are summarized in the last minute-ish of the video.

Glad to see some love for LTCB in the comments. Without saying a word, he delivered a masterclass on acting in under 30 seconds while building a highly complicated piece of Lego machinery (for ages 11 and up ONLY). Who else is doing it like him right now?
The amount of thought you put into this makes me SO upset it's not a real project. I would LOVE to watch this show.
(Personally, I think fame in TS4 was done much better than in TS3 so it might be worth getting if it's on sale and you feel like playing TS4 anyway. It's much harder to gain fame than in TS3 and fame decays so you actually have to maintain it. But even seeing people roasting them on RUclips did NOT prepare me for how AWFUL the builds in that world are! People are NOT exaggerating when they talk about Judith Ward's house!! It looks like someone was told to build a mansion but had never even seen a picture of one and were just going off the description of "house but like... really big".)
It would not surprise me if there has been a Sims script floating around Hollywood for years just waiting for some producer to say, "Well, if Barbie could do it. . ."

Hhhhhh I don’t want to interfere with your vision but Kitty Purry would be Really good 😂😂. I also love the idea of doing Sims 4 land as like a “bad dream” kind of one off episode lol

this would be such a great concept for a barbie/don't look up style movie where the characters slowly start to realise they're living in a simulation but it's disregarded as a "conspiracy theory" for way too long until it's too late.
Pretty much exactly how I imagined things would start unraveling in the second season
Solid casting picks :) My one note would be for the Katy Perry type singer: I'd call her Kitty Shack, a reference to the ingame singer from the Sims 2 for console and have her sing her song Another World. It's still similar to Katy Perry, and Kitty Shack doesn't have a design, so you could easily give her those Katy Perry type visuals and make it a double reference.

It's honestly surprising no one's ever jumped on the chance to make a Sims show considering how much nonsensical slice of life stuff it shares with existing YA shows like the absolute insanity that is Riverdale, mysteries, thieves, land disputes, romantic entanglements, murders, kidnappings, aliens, supernatural stuff...
Also maybe it's just me but Brad is a ringer for Clancy Brown

ur picks do not miss! love the reference of atlanta as inspiration for the sims anthology- theres so much potential to tap into the sims universe's surreal/unhinged/existential elements.
also love risebourough's casting as tiffaby burb bc her character in posessor is kind of the perfect antithesis?? can't wait to see what the main cast potential(s) are!

but EA said the sims 1 & 2 Ms. Crumplebottom isnt the same woman as Agnes other than that though great cast
It's a bit confusing, but my understanding is that the Sims 1 and Sims 2 Crumplebottoms (as Agnes has passed by Sims 2) are not the same person. However, the Sims 1 Miss Crumplebottom is Agnes. Not sure why they chose to do things that way 🤷♀

This is so up my alley!!! I think most of your casting choices are spot-on. The Burbs are perfect, as are The Hicks, and Goopy. I’m a little iffy on Agnes, but I haven’t seen her in anything. I think Zooey Deschanel is too old to play 2010s Katy Perry (though at the time they were fairly interchangeable). I don’t love Sherilyn Finn as Judith Ward, either. I think Judith Ward looks a lot like Michelle Pfeiffer, but she might be too old. I feel like Elle Fanning could pull it off, but she’s too young. It’s a head-scratcher for me.
Okay, my pick for Judith Ward is Scarlett Johanssen. Still trying to figure out who I’d cast as Agnes and Katy Perry.
Okay, my Agnes pick is Rosamund Pike.
In my version Katy Perry would be played by either Lili Reinhart or Joey King, I think.
@@megreads824 1) You need to watch Andor! I know a lot of questionable stuff has been put out for the Star Wars universe but Andor is built different. 2) We'll let the Katy Perry slot be left open for whatever young actress the star making machine has decided to heavily promote the year the show comes out. And 3) ScarJo was on the short list for Judith Ward but I honestly can't tell how old that Sim is supposed to be? The styling is giving 55+ but maybe that's an EA problem.
