I REALLY like that cowbell, yup, needs more cowbell, Jamel needs to get him a cowbell to clang along . Even if there's no cowbell in the song cause it just needs some more cowbell!

Awesome reaction! REO SPEEDWAGON is one of my favorite bands out of the 70s( best decade ever). they used to come to town often or somewhere near me, but not so much lately. I've saw them several times in the 70s and would definitely pay to go see them again. hard to believe they've been playing rock and roll for 50 years and still going strong!
One of the most under-rated bands. They make such wonderful records. Critics treat them like some kind of bubble gum music studio band. If this is on in your car, better watch your foot on the accelerator!
I'm 65 years old and listened to and played rock and roll for over 50 years... certain songs like this one can trigger so much emotion in me personally... thank you so much for listening and appreciating this performance with me....that band, this song, pure perfection... Top Ten All Time! yep and Amen.

Absolutely, positively and without a doubt, "Golden Country" on the double live album, "You Get What You Play For," is my all-time favorite REO recording. The lyrics and the music span the years and are so relevant today.
Love REO, one of my favorite bands of all time! Maybe just a suggestion another band from this era STYX, I know you have done a few of their songs but their library is extensive. I would love to see reactions to The Best of Times, Too Much Time on My Hands well really any of their stuff is great! 🎤🎶🎹🎶
The lead guitarist, Gary Richrath (RIP) was a great player and underrated. He is often overlooked. If you want to hear his ability, listen to "The Flying Turkey Trot" from their first live album, "Live: You Get What You Play For!" This was released in 1977, before REO mellowed out some and began releasing lighter songs that Kevin Cronin (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) wrote. Gary Richrath ended up quitting the band in 1989 over artistic differences.
Several have said it, but when that Hammond B3 organ hits, it's like a church organ, and the "Keep on Rollin/Keep on Rollin" sounds like a church choir. But it has the absolutely amazing Les Paul that sounds like the strings are on fire. One of REO's best songs.
You putting up so many great videos today and every day...us enjoying your dancing, your reactions.....THAT is why you've gathered another 1000 subscribers!! It was reading 538K yesterday...look at it now! TY, sir!
There are an increasing number of these “appreciation” videos. Some are really good, others not so much. Yours is the best, in my opinion. I really enjoy them. Well done. Thanks.👍
Jamel...Welcome to every summer of the 1980's! REO was an amazing band to watch live, and were always on our summer concert list! So many great memories seeing them live at Red Rocks outside of Denver. Memories of great times, and of friends who are no longer with us. This song brings goosebumps for the performance, and tears remembering my friends. Thanks for taking me back...
@@jamesfletcher3651 You're more than welcome. Been there, done that myself. It's definitely tough if you have a kid especially. Hang in there and keep your head up.
Here is a fun story about Kevin Cronin. We are from the same suburb in Chicago (Oak Lawn). When my dad was young he had a band and as everyone would say, "little Kevin Cronin" would come hang over the back fence and say, teach me how to play guitar! So my dad and his band would kind of laugh (not in a mean way, it's just that KC was so insistent). So "little Kevin" would hang out and learn how to play guitar. Yrs later my dad's band got an amazing record contract, but because they fought so bad between themselves they blew it. But a lot of great bands came out of the Chicago area around that time, REO, Styx, Cheap Trick. Years later after REO had made it big, Kevin always came back for Oak Lawn days, rode in the parade and was always very good to the community.
DOG! Thank u so much for rockin this song I've requested more than a few times. What a scintillating rocker! So happy you liked what I've loved for decades now. There are about 10-15 songs I will never tire of, and this is one. No breaks necessary. I hear it now, and it is just as fresh as my first listen way back when.

This is the one and only song from my teenage years that I actually blast the radio when it comes on. My all-time favorite and it broke my heart when Gary split with the band. I can't believe you posted this today. I searched for a reaction to this song because I was having a shitty day and it's one of my favorite songs to pick me up. Just one of those crazy things lining up, I guess. Thanks for the reaction, I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I do! In My Dreams is another banger by REO that I'd recommend
I'm smiling the entire time watching 👀 ☺ your reaction. REO was my obsession during middle school and high school. Class of 85. Saw them and Journey, of course, live back in the day.
Now, imagine watching those dudes live, they were just unbelievable, amazing. By those dudes I mean the lineup they were famous for in the late seventies and eighties. I was lucky enough to have watched them three times in concert
I know it wasn't released as a single, but my favorite song by REO Speedwagon was, is, and always will be Wish You Were Here from their Hi Infidelity album.
Deen Castronovo sang it just as well, AND played drums at the same time. It's a shame he had "issues" but I'm glad he is sober now. ruclips.net/video/-gomgFZsG-0/видео.html
Man!! When we were listening to this song in high school (1978) we didn't have a care in the world and look where we are NOW and everything we've been through! But we STILL just gotta keep on rollin' and Turn Some Pages!! My high school boyfriend lost both his wife and his son to heroin and that's just ONE of the sad friend stories.
I hadn't listened to early REO in a long time and a few weeks ago I got back into it! I relearned why I fell in love with their music and especially Neal's keyboards!
I just stumbled onto Jamal doin an REO search. I'm not able to stop smiling and singin along to the best song ever! Watchin this dude's natural and genuine appreciation and love of this song was inspiring!

Jamel is exactly the person artists want to listen to their songs. The respect he has for every aspect of a great song is amazing.
Yeah their stuff was great until the 80s sellout. Then came the second worst LP release ever (High Infidel)..... Slow Hand edges it out by a hair.
Jamel seems to truly want to share his obvious love of good music to anyone and everyone. We feel it brother loud and clear. So much respect.

MistiAnne Locke i really like that song, but not any of their other songs.
A screaming Les Paul Guitar, a scorching Hammond b-3 organ, Kevin Cronin's voice, And Jamel. HELL YEAH!

Don't forget the Smashing Drums and Thumping Bass baby!!!
Jamel now is part or REO...just love it
And the gospel choir!
Gary Richrath is criminally underrated as a guitarist. Truly shred on the double live album.
Bones Jackson yes, one of the best!
Couldn't agree more.

"Don't Let Him Go",,, REO
I'm smiling the entire time watching 👀 ☺ your reaction. REO was my obsession during middle school and high school. Class of 85. Saw them and Journey, of course, live back in the day.
GOLDEN COUNTRY!!!
Such a great, uplifting song!
Check out their live version at Red Rocks where they team up with Chicago. Crazy good!
Red Rocks. Best venue ever, right up there with George, Washington. Saw BB King at Red Rocks, third row center. What a class act.
Now, imagine watching those dudes live, they were just unbelievable, amazing. By those dudes I mean the lineup they were famous for in the late seventies and eighties. I was lucky enough to have watched them three times in concert
I knew you’d love this when someone suggested it a while back! Church organ!!!! You’re so delightful! And I love REO SO MUCH!
I know it wasn't released as a single, but my favorite song by REO Speedwagon was, is, and always will be Wish You Were Here from their Hi Infidelity album.
Love that you love this song! Please do Journey's "Mother Father" -live from Houston-Steve Perry's best vocal PERFORMANCE-HANDS down!!❤️
Deen Castronovo sang it just as well, AND played drums at the same time. It's a shame he had "issues" but I'm glad he is sober now.

Legendary song by a highly underrated band !
Golden Country
You need to do Turkey Trot by REO. AWESOME guitar solo by Gary Richrath.
Here I am playing air guitar while you jam to this song. It doesn't get any better! PHEW! This song wore me out! I'm ready for a :COLD ONE"!!!
I hadn't listened to early REO in a long time and a few weeks ago I got back into it! I relearned why I fell in love with their music and especially Neal's keyboards!
Please do a reaction of “Golden Country” by REO Speedwagon
By far their best song. They should have done more of the rocking and less of the sap and cheese.
I just stumbled onto Jamal doin an REO search. I'm not able to stop smiling and singin along to the best song ever! Watchin this dude's natural and genuine appreciation and love of this song was inspiring!
Gary Richrath was criminally underrated as a guitar player. Saw him live and he did things that night that was unreal!
