Gary was my 1st cousin and so missed! When I was 16 they came to Little Rock AR and let me bring 6 friends and we were backstage etc. It's something we all will never forget! RIP Gary!
Thanks for sharing. Gary is missed. Rock and roll ain’t the same anymore without him.
one of the most talented, fun and energetic players to ever take the stage, his solos give me chills everytime,....now thats magic !!!
Gary still is one of my all time favorite guitarists. I miss his style so much. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
Wow had to be awsome he could shred guitar before what today they call shredders on guitar
Indeed, these guys represented the cream of the crop of real music forty plus years ago. Not only is Gary Richrath missed; but the genre of music they represented as well. Thanks for commenting here. The world is so much less without Mr Richrath’s raw talent and influence.
Glad Richrath, who frankly was REO, is heavily featured in this video.
Gary Richrath was a phenomenal guirtarist- one of the alltime greats.
Gary is the man. RIP true rock star
REO, One of the best rock bands you could ever get lucky enough to see live. Richrath's incredible tone and clean transitions make him one of the most recognizable guitarists in rock. All were spot on professionals. Miss this type of band and the incredible music they produced.
One of the all-time great instrumental duels, Neil Doughty on keys and Gary Richrath on guitar! Great editing job of Speedwagon then-and-now! ❤️🎶🎸🎹
definitely one of the best, there are a few that come to mind, boston, purple so forth bnit this... this one is exceptional, don't tell the "leader" this tho, I think he thinks people listen to hear his vocals... lofl
This song has it all!
And the band know it!
If your having a bad day get on the freeway and put this song in your player and turn it up loud!
This song defines REO Speedwagon!
This song is 💯 Percent Rock N Roll!
R.I.P. Gary, thanks for all the music brotha.
This was one of the baddest ass rock groups of the 80s no question about that Gary was a shredder and he was good at it. His spirit lives forever. We miss you.🎸🎸💔💔🎸🎸
Nobody can match Gary Richrath playing guitar for this song, nio. Matter how many guitar players they hire
I've been an REO fan since '75 but just finding this now 5 years after the tragic loss of Gary. RIP Gary. Kudos to @The Forensic Editorfor this fabulous assembly of one of the greatest bands doing one of the most uplifting songs of all time! Every time a super energetic performance making everyone watching feel 18 again without a worry in the world. Thank you for the edit and Kevin and the boys for decades of happiness.
I was thrown off of their stage twice during performances in the 70's in Ohio. One my favorite lead guitar players of all time. RIP Gary...miss ya man.
Love to watch Gary such a great natural talent.
That was awesome! Gary was such a great performer
ALPINE VALLEY WISCONSIN 1984 THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES KEVIN AND BAND REO SPEEDWAGON THE SONGS/MUSIC OF MY 20'S
I worked that concert! Amazing band. Miss Gary!
@dawnclark1892 so cool we had a couple gal of swamp water and we noticed they were taking booze from those in line we were scared they would take ours too but lol they told us only glass bottles were not allowed so our plastic jugs were ok they laughed and said have good time and we did.1 problem with Alpine Valley was getting out only 1 entrance took almost an hr take care dawn those were the days
What a phenomenal job of mixing and overdubbing one of rock musics greatest classics! Gary, wherever you are and whatever you're playing in another place, as long as we remember your talent and performances, you'll never die..........
I can't imagine the 70s and 80s without Gary. One of the greatest musicians of our time. Thanks for this nice tribute video!
Gary made it look easy, and he looked like he enjoyed it.
Yup, his smiles speak volumes 😊
Being 15yo when Hi Infedlity came out, REO had a positive influence on my life, and Gary Richrath, one of the most underated guitarists of all time , absolute genius.
Just WOW !!!! Beautifully Done !!!! Should be the Ultimate Tribute Video to REO Speedwagon‼️💯 Thank you‼️
An Amazing band this song just fly's ..Gary was so Underrated on Guitar, his sound was like no other
Gary was only underrated because those doing the rating don't know what a great guitarist looks and sounds like.
The solo is perfection
editing is... 🔝 top notch...
What a Amazing band!!!! I can never get enough of Gary belting out on the lead guitar . The best of the best!!!
One of the Best Live Bands ever. Thank you REO SPEEDWAGON. R.I.P. Gary Richrath…………
Besides the obvious with my first guitar hero, Gary Richrath, there is another guy who gets very little recognition. Alan is a great drummer.
One of the most amazing concerts I was blessed to attend. These guys had just hit the big time early 80s, my friends and I had randomly scored some front row seats... Oh goodness. what a show...
Yes it wa😂❤
It will always be all about Gary for me❤️
To say that was awesome is an understatement. Thank you.
Good bless Gary Richrath. Irreplaceable. RIP.
#15👍
That was a lot of splicing. It worked.
Gary... Most under rated Rock Guitar God ever.
Garry... What a awesome guitar player. No one else better!!
You’re finally at peace ❤. Love you always❣️
Great vid that says it all, roll with the changes!!
Gary Richrath is such a badass - inspirational then inspirational now !! 🌟💖
No question ..Gary all the way ...in rock n roll heaven ..for sure ..
Fantastic...this song is a masterpiece... Gary's guitar in it is phenomenal!
Wow this is an excellent mix of the years gone by! WELL DONE!
Thank you very much sir!
I noticed it during the solos you only had Gary great job thank you so much!
That entire band was fantastic! Ah the 70s! So happy I survived those crazy years!
One of my all time bands. Gary is among the best guitarist 🎸
Yes! Now this is LIVE! There’s another vid floating around of the studio version played with live video. Well done here!
The ultimate show nobody nobody could out sing Kevin and Gary was absolutely the best guitarist nobody could make it scream like that
Awesome medley. Thank you! What a wonderful tribute to a truly awesome band, especially Neil and Gary.
I got chill bumps Gary kicks ass one the best
The man played that so well
Very cool!
Seen them in the 70's , they was really good
Me to but it changed my life. I had only been to classical orchestra concerts and loved it.
REO, they were a big deal to me from then on. I still loved Beethoven, Benny Goodman and Souza but I only heard Orchestras cover them lol. Nothing like hearing a good song played by the group that composed it.
Still wish I could see Gary play again. Miss ya buddy
Susan Reed
1983 and 1987
Yeah Sweetheart, They kicked A$$ with Gary! Gary with a Les Paul in his hands could really make that guitar sing and talk! ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️😳😳😳🙋🏻
Saw them with Zebra and Survivor as the opening acts, they were amazing! Been a lifelong fan.

When REO ruled the universe it was the best time in my teenage life....and all the new found joys that came with life at that age...priority was the new feeling of young love and discovering and exploring sex with your girfriend in the back seat or when your parents went to work the summers were the best time of the year....I loved that girl and will never forget her she was absolutely smokin hot i couldnt get enough of her i think of her still from time to time...but as we all know all good things come to an end but that statement wasnt a reality at that time. It seemed our love would never end but it did and life marched on. I would give anything to go back and do it all over again! And a huge thanks to REO for being a huge part of many of our lives...😀🤪👍
Check out an old REO speedwagon song from possibly 1976 entitled "Breakaway"... Gary shared vocals with Kevin Cronin. Also check out REO's "Only a Summer Love" ...Gary singing as well. Going back a little further 1974 maybe?...give "Wild as the Western Wind" a listen with Garry & Mike Murphy sharing vocals. RIP Brother!
I agree with the other commenter. Amazing job of editing. I've been fortunate to see REO LIVE about 3 different times.
Watching in September 2021.. AMAZING COMPILATION..THANK YOUUU
Have seen REO numerous times in late 1970s and early 80s in Michigan. They and Lynyrd Skynyrd were my favorites back then. 3 1/2 years ago I had the extreme pleasure of seeing them again at Rose Music outdoor area in Dayton, Ohio. I have their greatest hits stored on my Sony Digital Audio Player. Roll with the changes is my favorite along with Keep Pushin on. I have a good audio system on my Victory Motorcycle and God help the pedestrians if I happen to be going through a city whenever these two tracks play as I just have to keep it cranked - Got to.
RIP Gary. We love you!!
Keep pushing, MY Favorite,,, I got a lot of milage,,, SINGING n playing, Ridding the Storm OUT...
Ya Gary lived in East Peoria, Illinois. Went to grade school with Gary and just a really nice guy. All of us kids in our neighborhood ran around together and just had really good times. Who knew he'd be the great performer he was.
Seen this band six times and they know how to bring down the house !
Wow, that is so cool. I saw them as a bar band, they were releasing their first album. REO 1.
I around 1972
Damn, that is some great editing!!! Great song too!
PS those were the good old 80s that’s what brought America together these bands best days of my life and Americas to I must carry-on
Really good video , sound , and how it was put together :) Thanks so much !
I've seen REO Speedwagon all over Illinois Kentucky Tennessee. Saw them down on the river in the town of metropolis Illinois a few years ago that was something..great show
Very well put together video, good job
Soy de Cali Colombia y los vi en mi ciudad en el 90. RIP Gary
Just wow, dynamic rock group, really fun to watch more than once
Excellent!!
I love roll with the changes keep on rolling
Nice video thru time. I always said when they started out they had the best hair in rock and roll. And Gary was the best.
I love hearing him make that guitar scream... a true rock star🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favorite band. Saw them twice.
REO 1984okc last concert I ever went to... Been a part of 5:33 my Life ever since ps. My name is Tommy.
I’ve watched this so many times over... excellent work!
Gary Richrath = the master of that guitar 🎸 always loved and missed! ❤❤❤
Blessed to see them live at peak of their powers. Not an REO fan but they were fantastic live
Things change ..if you do not ..so be it ..Gary was real ..From UK did not like the band really ..apart from Gary ..rocker myself ..loved his blast within songs ..it worked ...even with cliche songs ..he powered the feeling more ..then one gets shivers ..job done ..Gary did it ..god Bless
Gary was , as harsh as it is , UNDERBANDED , He was of such a superior caliber
@@peterherard8207 he was great ..I play the songs because of him...then the shivers happen with his guitar solo's ..just does ..cool Peter ..well said
Playing the guitar is harder than it looks. Gary makes it look so easy . Its not ! Very talented person. RIP 🙏 Playing in heaven i am sure.
That energy!
Gary could Fucking ROCK!! dsmn shame what happened between those guys😢
Beautiful collage video. GREAT SONG and GREAT BAND!!!!!
Great to here that loved garys style
Gary the shredder doing it well
Bad ass tune keep on a rolling in America🎸🎸🎸😁
Awesome video there was nothing better than a cheap 8 track and 40watt boost which I still have and this stuff 😀maybe it was cassette hate to sound old but awesome 👌 memories! Keep on rocking!
Dave I still have my very first lp that I bought of theirs, T.W.O., it still plays great and I bought it way back in late 73 or early 74 after seeing them. I have several other of there albums. I to still have my old Craig Power Play 8 track player.lol I think I only have one 8 track tape left of them though, the Tuna album 8 track. I too am feeling old, but some of the memories I wouldn't trade for nothing.
69 Chevelle Malibu, parked at the docks, a six pack of Stroh's, REO cassette, the sunset and your favorite girl. Wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
This is when they FUCKIN' ROCKED
Gary Richrath was one of the rippingest guitarists ever! His looks and what he could do with that guitar made a young girl crazy
They still rock
Gary was the speedwagon, guitar playing is what made REO.
Seen them in the 80s, they were awesome!
reo is now a cover band GARY RICHRATH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long live THIS TYPE of Rock
After Tuna Fish - especially with the success of "Time for Me to Fly" - power ballads and soft rock became the bread and butter of the band. Perhaps the hardest tune afterwards was written and sung by base player Bruce Hall - "Back on the Road Again"
Yes, love this song.
Yes .....Hi Infidelity, it's like Kevin Cronin gave it a huge does of RICHARD SIMMONS-ISH , GARY RICHRICH AT THAT POINT WAS UNDERBANDED !!
The Nine Lives album was much harder, at least in concept because Gary had control over it. He wanted to get away from the softer rock and go back to what REO was supposed to be, a hard rock band. Try the song "Heavy on Your Love" and of course "Only the Strong Survive", great rock songs.
The editing on this video is incredible!! No mistaking the soundtrack from the Kemper Arena show though! Absolutely superb job thanks for sharing.
Agreed100
I was there🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awesome , just awesome !
Great job. Thanks!
Keep on keeping on 😎
That organist is just killer!
One of the most impressive works on You Tube. Put together so tight. Great Band. Great Song. Great Video.
Well done. Nice montage.
Without Gary, no REO Speedwagon
Thanks for nod! Still my favorite version of this song. Fantastic job of editing!
So awesome! Love the concept! Well done!
Thanks man! There’s 51 other videos on the channel that I cut together in one year - it was a super fun project!
