    Just before you apologized for ranting, I actually started tearing up a little because of your words and how passionate you are about tattooing. It's true, individual style is just so beautiful. You don't get a lot of artist letting people know that there is no truly correct preference in shading, it almost takes a weight off of learning, as I am entering the part of were I'm taking this stage of tattooing to the next level on my path. I'll be looking to see if you have a blending video for color too!! Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Passing on the power lol

    This is super relaxing to watch and yhe way you speak makes it easy to watch the video with the audio on. I really dont even get on you tube very much becausei find it overwhelming but, audio is A1. I own a studio. The other artist's in my shop are Body tattooers and while I also do Body tattoos about 40% of the time (mostly flash and traditional body work) I actually specialize in permanent makeup which is the complete opposite spectrum ... My main movement for lips and brows is this whipshading/stipiling technique. This is literally one of the most satisfying videos I've ever watched. This makes me want to try this kind of style and shading more often on body tattoos... I've only watched a handful of your videos but I could watch this again and again. 🙏💎

    Your videos are awesome very well articulated in a technical way yet simple enough for any ink virgin to understand good work brother. To add a note. For shading consider the direction of the light source. If u shade a face, put a flash light on ur chin and where ever the shadows are that is where u would shade

Just a quick question..On some videos they say about not working over the same area loads as it can damage the skin and mess up the tattoo etc. It looks like do loads of passes on the shading I noticed. Would this not damage the skin or is it ok to do loads of passes in this situation because its a fine/small needle attachment? cheers

    Does it make a major difference in shading depending on type of practicing skin one uses ?

    • @DanielYuck
      @DanielYuck  Год назад

      That is a great question!
      From my experience with both the Reelskin which are the thicker ones you are referring to are far better to shade with over the thinner fake skins. When I would get the thinner fake skins from amazon I would have to really really work to shade the fake skin.
      On this page of my website I have listed various fake skins that I have used along my way. I will link you below.

    I'm finding when I try the whipping, instead of making defined and clear dots, it's just making a very faded broken line. I've tried low and high voltage but doesn't seem to take on my fake skin, any ideas??

    The tip of the needle is beveled, can it be used to ride along the surface of the skin

    New to tattoo, asking to understand...You say to use the tip of your needle, but would that mean the ink isn't being set into the second layer of skin? I am thinking, wouldn't this just fall out?

    What voltage you running your machine at when stipple shading Dan??

    • @DanielYuck
      @DanielYuck  2 года назад +2

      Thats a great question!
      When I stipple I like to run my machine at 5 volts to get that pepper look or if I am going for more smoother with a textured look I will run at 8 volts even. It also depends on the machine we use as well as every machine pushes differently.

    Not wanting this to sound negative at all, but how sensitive, or tender does this make the clients skin area when shading this way. I have no idea is why I'm asking, just seems like this would really start to get really tender.

    Thank you for sharing. My problem is my practice shades never come out so well.. also my lines don’t show until I’ve run the needle across the skin a few times. Why can’t I get a solid straight line in one run instead of having to run my needle over the skin a few more times just to get my ink to show. Any ideas that can help will be appreciated

      @TATTZBYALI I use a coil machine and when I put it at such a low voltage, it’s very slow and barely shows a line. Until I increase the voltage which helps but doesn’t make very much difference.

      @TATTZBYALI okay I’ll do just that. Thank you so much for your time.

      If your haven't got the answer yet. I have seem many people run around 6 volts to 6.5 to line with. Personally I stick with a solid 8 for lining and around 8.5 to shade. Always remember to pace your hand when you pull your lines. Too fast and your ink wont stick and it will be spotted. Also remember to keep your machine angled so the ink is dropped properly.
      Hope this helps you.
