Daniel I can't thank you enough for this video! I have been noticing my line work has been becoming more consistent and this is exactly what I needed to have in the back of my mind as a check list to ensure I can find that balance. I always enjoy the time-lapses, and the follow along, but when the beefy information videos come out those just can't be beat! Thank you for this Daniel you are appreciated! Blessings to you and your family brother!
Thank you for your videos I have been tattooing for years with a prison made machine just picked up a tattoo pen a few months ago and it is so different using all these different size needles so watching your videos I find myself binge watching to learn with all these different needle sizes
This guy is the only one in a world of thousands of so called pro,s that expect people to follow. This guy hands down is the best in the game. Don't waste hours checking other artists. This guy is the Mike Tyson Michael Jordan in the tattoo game . Top work my friend 💪
I love your videos, I knew nothing atall about different inks being different consistencys. Also, I didn't realise you could get a 11RL , I was told only 9 is only ever needed, obviously I was told wrong...Im taking notes as I watch 💯
Thank you for sharing this. I had 2 tats done last Aug & Sept on my arm and she was an apprentice still for almost 13 months with art design degree in various mediums & a multipotential individual (various types of art from pottery to oil paintings etc). She did a good job but even after going for touch-ups in Oct it still looks faded. One is a black wrist tat with semi-colon, heartbeat and ends with an open-ended heart and the bigger piece is a black with pink, purple Phoenix that's not vibrant at all. I've used Hustle butter and I do use a daily moisturizer as well -always have and do protect from sun as well since I live in the south now. I'm debating on if I should go back to her for a 'do-over' or go elsewhere. My son gets his 1st tattoo in a week and the artist said he could redo/recolor mine as well. Any thoughts on this? I'm open to suggestions/ideas. Thanks.
Thank you Mr. Yuck this is rly helpful. Do u know anything about tattooing with ur left hand?

Hi! Sometimes when I outline the drawing, even hitting the pen hard and a little deep, with the catridge Full of Ink, It makes absolutely nothint. It dazzles me egerytime... What can It be?
Hey Mr Yuck i was wondering if you could do a video explaining pulling and how to deal with it? I experience it sometimes where the needle wants to go its own direction in the fake skin
Ok I’ve been practicing neo trad on fake skins and have been lining with a 9rs but I can’t seem to get a solid color, it always shows up as three like tight lines. Is this just Bcs fake skins kinda suck or is it my positioning
That is a great question. If I am understanding you correctly it can be because our hand speed is too fast. It can be our needle depth maybe too shallow. Our voltage can be low. It is really hard to say but these are some of the main reasons that came to my mind. Fake skin also does accept ink differently from human skin so it is a bit hard to actually say without seeing.
Sometimes you might have to do a second pass if anything because of the grouping but if you slow down it should be solid and i love the solid look from a RS
I see this, and I also have seen the slicing in my face skin. Unfortunately, I think I have too thin of artificial skin. It seems to be about 1 mm. Could you recommend a decent "real" fake skin? Also, I have a couple of what most would call "simple," tribal designs, and I was wondering if you could recommend proper size needles for those and proper shades, mags, etc.? I can send you the designs if you'd really like to be specific but I'm sure you have probably encountered these and even more...lol.! Thank you brother and keep up the AWESOME tutorials!!!!
Fake skin will change in tone as you go into it, but no it does not have separate layers inside of it to show you if you blow out. It is much tougher than real skin. Different areas of the body will have different types of skin, some tougher and some more delicate. Practice tattooing fake skin with a ruler wrapped around your wrist & always do your 3-point stretch so it becomes body memory. Moving your machine from the elbow and maintaining a nice stretch should prevent blowouts by keeping your needle depth consistent.
I got a tattoo machine and in the description of the manual it stated that it's not recommended to use needles that are different than the brands' machine. Is this legit or do they just wanna sell..
Daniel, how do you make the stencil stay on the fake skin? I'm using speed stick, press, let it dry 24h.. and then it comes off after the first wipe.. 😩
glad i didnt watch this before i started drawing on myself lol i would never have started maybe that would have been a good thing LOL i could never do it to anyone else thats scary as hell
I use stencil stuff, it's like a cream that transfers the stencil to the skin and I ussualy let it do a drying for like 10 to 20 mins but very light amount is needed depending on size of design
Speed stick, don’t use it on humans but it works great for fake skin apply a light amount of baby powder I’ve heard too but I use stencil stuff and let dry overnight or if you’re in a rush to tattoo use a blow dryer for 10 minutes or so
I second Reel skin, get the thickest you can afford and wash it before using with soap and water or rubbing alcohol. Also fruits like @TheGemini1907 mentioned: oranges, honey dew melon, grapefruit. Another thought would be your own leg :-)
Quick question why are you running the volts lower for a smaller liner. I get what you said about about less mistakes but is there a reason smaller liners are ran slower and would you do the same witha 5rl as I find running a 9rl at 8.5V comfortable but with the 5 and 3rl is feels abit too aggressive for that liner. Same with the hang I always float my needle but going from a 9rl to a 3rl I find my hang is too long would you suggest adjusting the hang for smaller liners?
The smaller the needles are the more they can cause trauma to the skin cuz the needles are pulling into a tighter place. Slowing it down helps not getting blow outs! The smallest the sharpest!
@@tianaevans5229I Googled it. Lol " So, when a tattoo artist says they're using a “bugpin,” they could be referring to either an 8-gauge or a 10-gauge needle, but 95% of the time, they mean a 10-gauge needle." So I guess both are correct if it's smaller than a 12 gauge.
I dont get it: if its this hard to actually be a good tattooer, then why are people basically "not allowed" to learn? I mean its impossible to get into a tattoo shop to be an apprentice..... This is probably whats causing people to start on thier own and "put a bad name" on the industry. Including myself....altho I did not dare to touch real skin just yet.

Hello. What gel/oil are you using to clean the excess ink during tatooing? (Love your video, so useful)

You may need a better quality of needle or pull the skin tighter or both your needles shouldn't do that
@@jessihelsley6646 got it, I experience it mainly in fake skin not really when i tattoo myself so i wonder if its because the silicone is so hard

A lot of people i’ve seen have recommended the brand reelskin
So does all fake skins actually work as real skin and vibrate and sound the same at the right depth? Also blow out at the same depth?
Fake skin will change in tone as you go into it, but no it does not have separate layers inside of it to show you if you blow out. It is much tougher than real skin. Different areas of the body will have different types of skin, some tougher and some more delicate. What’s that pink cream u constantly use to clean the fake skin while tattooing?
I think hes using the pink inkeeze
What’s a good website for finding tattoo supplies and stuff ? Or just Amazon?
painful pleasures!
King Pin, Eikon, Seth Ceferri, Micky Sharpz are my favorites
What r popular needles sizes
size 5, 7, and 9 liners & size 9 and 11 curved magnums
what is that pink stuff you wipe with?
Great video. Well done

hairspray has been a life changer, i spray the stencil after i lay it on the skin and let it set for 24hrs
@@pamelaschoenberg8650 Thank you Pamela, I'll try that out 🙏🏼
Just get special stencil aplicator, nothing beats that
glad i didnt watch this before i started drawing on myself lol i would never have started maybe that would have been a good thing LOL i could never do it to anyone else thats scary as hell
What is the tattoo was really small and you have to use a three round liner
Then you don’t do super small tattoos that requires 3RL at first… go with simple tattoos with easy size that can go with 7RL
How do you get your stencil to stay on your fake skin. I for the life of me can not get it to stay
the only way to really get it to stay in is to leave it overnight
I use stencil stuff, it's like a cream that transfers the stencil to the skin and I ussualy let it do a drying for like 10 to 20 mins but very light amount is needed depending on size of design
Let it dry. If you have a small fan put it in front of it for 30 minutes
Speed stick, don’t use it on humans but it works great for fake skin apply a light amount of baby powder I’ve heard too but I use stencil stuff and let dry overnight or if you’re in a rush to tattoo use a blow dryer for 10 minutes or so
Anybody have recommendations for great quality fake skin? Mine is super cheap, gets dirty fast and ink won’t stay on

Run the volts lower for smaller liners because they are more "aggressive" can cause damage trauma to skin faster.
3rl and 5 round liner I ussualy run about 5.5 to 6.5 volts
The smaller the needles are the more they can cause trauma to the skin cuz the needles are pulling into a tighter place. Slowing it down helps not getting blow outs! The smallest the sharpest!

I thought "bugpins" were a 10 ? The "double zero" as you called them...
I just watched a video where it said 8 are bugpins and 10 are double zero

" So, when a tattoo artist says they're using a “bugpin,” they could be referring to either an 8-gauge or a 10-gauge needle, but 95% of the time, they mean a 10-gauge needle."
