it was good summary Kate, thank you. As a endo sufferer too, I read a lot about it and it concerns me that your explanation about the cause of endo is limited to retrograde menstruation, when currently the true causes are still unknown. Retrograde Menstruation is one possible explanation, however many women have the retrograde menstruation but not endo. Retrograde Menstruation does not fit as a cause for women without menstruation and young girls who have not had their period yet, and the ones suffering from ectopic endometrial cells in the brain, nose cavity or other further away parts of the body. Hence some studies linking Endo and Autoimmune, Endo and Lymphatic system, possible downregulation of HOAXA10 gene and other explanations. Like your Detox explanation and the supplements you recommend. Ideally a follow up video with diet as well would be helpful as Endo is an inflammatory condition and food plays a role in the healing process.
Hi, Vivian! Agreed - this video is not a masterclass in Endometriosis, and there are certainly other theories and possible explanations for the development of this condition. Like you said, at it's root (like so many other issues related to hormone signaling) endometriosis is the result of an inflammatory process. It sounds like you've done a lot of self-education on the topic, but in my experience, most sufferers don't even know what the endometrium is or how estrogen impacts endometrial tissue - much less options for treatment that don't involve surgery. I'll definitely add your suggested video topics to the list. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🧡

I have just been diagnosed with endometriosis after an ovarian endometrioma exploded 10 days ago. They couldn't remove the base of the cyst because it stuck to the ovary and ligaments, so it can grow back any time, plus my ovary is stuck between other organs so difficult to manage. I always had very painful menstruation but I sort of thought that's how I am and that's it. I'm sure I developed the cyst due to grief and crisis in my marriage in the last few months. I just wanted to say that I have treated endometriosis naturally with the help of my naturopath and a herbalist, including dissolving an ovarian cyst. You can 100% do this naturally with diet and lifestyle changes. Modern medicine knows very little about endometriosis, or any condition outside of how to prescribe a drug to mask a symptom. You need to treat the root cause. If you are here, and especially if you already have the suspicion that you developed a cyst due to things in your marriage then you are definitely on the right track (I have experience the exact same and since starting to navigate a separation things have greatly improved with the endometriosis including the cyst dissolving). So many physical conditions are the result of emotional trauma. There’s a book called The Emotion Code by Dr Bradley Nelson that’s very interesting reading on this. I was diagnosed in 2007 through a laprascopic procedure. Endo has turned into Adenomyosis, enlarged uterus, 4 cysts on my left ovary. Ive had unexplained chronic left side flank pain around my rib area especially below my armpits that's much more painful around menstruation. And if course painful and irregular periods, painful ovulation and pain in my legs, and entire pelvic, lower back and hip region before and during menstruation. My grandmother passed from cervical cancer that was caught too late. I also have ASKUS non HPV type. I'm 48 and had my tubes tied at 41. My doctor said I'm a great candidate for a full hysterectomy but would your functional medicine plan help me or due to multiple things going on, surgery is better?
The tough thing about endometriosis is that it's progressive - so, it's much more likely that a conservative treatment plan will work if it's implemented early on. Once you have significant tissue damage and deformation (cysts and fibroids, etc), sometimes surgery is the only way to resolve the pain and pressure on your internal organs and nerves. That doesn't mean that Functional strategies aren't still important - I have several clients who have had hysterectomies and are still utilizing preventative methods to minimize inflammation and damage from the removed endometriosis.
Hi Dr I just done my laparoscopy 2 weeks before due to I have endometriosis and doctor suggest me to take medication because i will have the same issue in future and i will have the pain as normal if i do not take any pills is that true? As per doctor said for me the period coming out from the uterus every time
At the core, endometriosis is an inflammatory problem - specifically, a problem with inflammatory or dominant estrogen metabolites. Addressing the symptoms of endo (including excessive bleeding) at the root cause means shifting your hormones away from estrogen dominance and promoting anti-inflammatory estrogen metabolites (like I explain in the video). There are many ways to do this - I list a few at the end of the video!
I typically recommend avoiding ultra-processed foods and other inflammatory foods like gluten, some forms of dairy, and artificial sweeteners and flavorings. Focus on whole, real foods!
Endometriosis is typically (not always) an estrogen-dominant condition - so you could start with some strategies aimed at reducing this problem! I have another video about estrogen dominance with more concrete strategies here: ruclips.net/video/zNH6J6qDXyo/видео.html
I recently had a hysterectomy 6 days ago. Dr Told me I have endometriosis lol. Who knew I’d have this wonderful luck. I still haven’t seen my Dr for a follow up PO appt. Did this surgery get rid of my endometriosis??
Typically surgery doesn't remove all of the endometriosis - and it can grow back! That's why I suggest a Functional Medicine approach - like in this video
I have suffered from stage IV endometriosis and had 2 laparoscopies when I was 34 and again at 37 years of age. It grows back! Had 3 failed IVF treatments, so when I reached my 50's menopause was a blessing! Endometriosis is tough to deal with.
Hi i was said I had polyp and fibroid and suggested hysteroscopy… after hysteroscopy i had vaginal discharge and bleeding for about a month …btw after hysteroscopy i was on estrogen medication for 2 weeks and stopped estrogen and took meprate for 2 weeks…after meprate stopped i got periods after a week ..on first day period was light but thickness was 30 mm abd from day 2 which is very very very heavy with clots coming too…i went to the doctor on 4th day my thickness of endometrium was 14mm…doctor asked me to come once period stopped and told if possible an another hysterescopy would be preferred ….Please reply
I was recently diagnosedin april with endomitriosis and the dr prescribed me medroxyprogesterene i started medication april24th and in may around the 16th i started bleed and now we are in june and im still bleeding very uncomfortable my dr is trying her vest to save my uterus.
While I can't speak to this specific case, I can tell you that implementing the strategies in this video could help reduce how much inflammation you experience each month - which could (theoretically) help reduce fluid buildup!
I have helped clients with endometriosis successfully conceive - some of the strategies in this video would be a good start! You're also welcome to apply for a one-on-one consultation with me - bit.ly/drkate1on1

I just done my laparoscopy 2 weeks before due to I have endometriosis and doctor suggest me to take medication because i will have the same issue in future and i will have the pain as normal if i do not take any pills is that true?
As per doctor said for me the period coming out from the uterus every time
Endometriosis can absolutely come back if you don't get to the root of the matter - whether you manage it naturally or with medication.
Thank you so much for this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Mam can taking your supplements will help with root cause of endometriosis? Please reply
Depending on what the root cause is, yes!
My question is you are bleeding non stop how do you stop it ?
At the core, endometriosis is an inflammatory problem - specifically, a problem with inflammatory or dominant estrogen metabolites. Addressing the symptoms of endo (including excessive bleeding) at the root cause means shifting your hormones away from estrogen dominance and promoting anti-inflammatory estrogen metabolites (like I explain in the video). There are many ways to do this - I list a few at the end of the video!
What's the difference between endometriosis from endometrial cancer?
www.jeffersonhealth.org/your-health/living-well/endometriosis-vs-endometrial-cancer-key-differences-you-should-know
Brilliant!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Does the Thorne hormone advantage and meta 1 3 C do the same or different things?
They have different ingredients, so they have (at least somewhat) different effects.
@@DrKateLyzengaDeanI don’t know which one to get from your website
What food can be avoided during endometriosis?
I typically recommend avoiding ultra-processed foods and other inflammatory foods like gluten, some forms of dairy, and artificial sweeteners and flavorings. Focus on whole, real foods!
Hi, What natural treatments can i take for endo? U explained dutch test to see hormone levels but what actual treatments or supplments will help?
Endometriosis is typically (not always) an estrogen-dominant condition - so you could start with some strategies aimed at reducing this problem! I have another video about estrogen dominance with more concrete strategies here: ruclips.net/video/zNH6J6qDXyo/видео.html
I recently had surgery and found out they removed endometriosis. I’m worried I’ll be in pain still
That can happen - which is why I recommend a root-cause approach (like the strategies in this video). 🧡
💕💕💕💕💕 and what what about NAC and glutathione injections for patients of Endometriosis and Fibroids and ovarian cysts ?
I don't have any experience with glutathione injections, but NAC can certainly be helpful for improving estrogen detoxification!
@@DrKateLyzengaDean that sucks. 😪 thank you for the info
@@donotsign I know menopause might not be easy (my mum suffered terribly with meno) but I’m looking forward to it. Has your endo gone away since meno?
I was recently diagnosedin april with endomitriosis and the dr prescribed me medroxyprogesterene i started medication april24th and in may around the 16th i started bleed and now we are in june and im still bleeding very uncomfortable my dr is trying her vest to save my uterus.
Yikes! You could also add some of the strategies from this video to help with the bleeding and inflammation!
thank you for responding so quickly its been a rough experience.
please Dr Kate ,i have umiblica endometriosis and it cause abdominal fluid after each period .what can i do to stop the fluid from growing.
While I can't speak to this specific case, I can tell you that implementing the strategies in this video could help reduce how much inflammation you experience each month - which could (theoretically) help reduce fluid buildup!

This video is about natural treatments for endometriosis, not medications.

It’s a shame the at home DUTCH test is so expensive. I wish it was much more affordable. 😕
It is an investment for sure - but I've never had someone feel like it wasn't worth the $$$!
Hello. I was diagnosed with endometriosis last 2019 and take visanne on and off. My last lab test and check up was last year, cysts are still in both ovaries. ..and my ob told me i also have adenomyosis. I havent been back since then and now im suffering from pelvic, back, and rectal pain a week after my menstruation. Is it normal to feel all these pain even without period? Or is it a sign that cysts are growing bigger?😢😢😢
Sorry - that's a question for your Ob/Gyn

That can be a symptom of endometriosis!
Curse ….. this endometriosis is hell 😭
It really is - I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I highly recommend the DUTCH test for anyone suffering from endo. It can be game-changing! Here's how you can order it (and I'll even help interpret the results and suggest some strategies to treat it) - www.drkateld.com/DUTCH-info
You can’t fix endo it with you all the time
Endometriosis and it's symptoms can often be managed with diet and lifestyle - if you watch the video, you'll learn how!
You gave no solutions 🤷🏻♂️
If you watch til the end of the video you'll find that I DO suggest some solutions! 👍🏼
