I have bad endometriosis. The only thing that helps me is intermittent fasting and the elimination of sugars. At one stage I followed a keto diet and for months I had no menstrual pain and my period was even lighter. Back on the keto diet now and doing much better. Sugar is a no no for endo sufferers.
it was good summary Kate, thank you. As a endo sufferer too, I read a lot about it and it concerns me that your explanation about the cause of endo is limited to retrograde menstruation, when currently the true causes are still unknown. Retrograde Menstruation is one possible explanation, however many women have the retrograde menstruation but not endo. Retrograde Menstruation does not fit as a cause for women without menstruation and young girls who have not had their period yet, and the ones suffering from ectopic endometrial cells in the brain, nose cavity or other further away parts of the body. Hence some studies linking Endo and Autoimmune, Endo and Lymphatic system, possible downregulation of HOAXA10 gene and other explanations. Like your Detox explanation and the supplements you recommend. Ideally a follow up video with diet as well would be helpful as Endo is an inflammatory condition and food plays a role in the healing process.
Hi, Vivian! Agreed - this video is not a masterclass in Endometriosis, and there are certainly other theories and possible explanations for the development of this condition. Like you said, at it's root (like so many other issues related to hormone signaling) endometriosis is the result of an inflammatory process. It sounds like you've done a lot of self-education on the topic, but in my experience, most sufferers don't even know what the endometrium is or how estrogen impacts endometrial tissue - much less options for treatment that don't involve surgery. I'll definitely add your suggested video topics to the list. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🧡
@@DrKateLyzengaDean it is great to talk about it and you are doing it! It took me 8 years to finally be taken seriously by doctors. Thank you for talking about it and helping others by raising awareness and showing that there is more we can rather than just contraceptive pills or surgery which helps but it does not treat the cause. Currently following the studies from Dr Krina Zondervan and her studies on the gene NPSRI, interesting. But above all....food, we have to tell people that anti-inflammatory diet can help, too. My doctor told me to get pregnant when I had just separated from my husband, he looked at me and said: "You don't look too bad, we have a follow up in 3 months, get a new boyfriend in the meantime."
I'm so sorry that it took you SO LONG to be validated and helped - it's infuriating to hear stories like this. Let me know if I can be of any more help - you're a warrior, and you deserve to be treated with respect. 🧡
I was diagnosed in 1990 at the age of 16. Laporascopy was done when I was 30, tried all but the coil during the first two yrs. The treatments weren’t helping so I just dealt with it. At the age of 40, I had another laporscopic procedure and as my doc put it I was in severe Stage IV. Long story short, I had a c-section to ‘deliver’ a uterus, both ovaries, and fallopian tubes. It was so bad the adhesions were pulling it all together my stomach was shaping into a point. Please take care of yourselves and luckily Endometriosis is finally getting recognized. ps I had two miscarriages and accepted the fact I wouldn’t be able to have children.
I'm so sorry you suffered for so long - I agree, it's good that endometriosis is finally getting some attention, but it's not going to be enough until conventional doctors recognize and treat the root cause instead of just the symptoms. Thank you for sharing your story and for watching!
@@soledadvasquez2858 she’ll be in surgical menopause now (both ovaries removed) and also around 50 years of age. Statistically only 2-5% of people still have endo after menopause.
Hi Dr Kate - my granddaughter had heavy painful periods, so the doctor agreed that she could stay on her birth control pill ongoing, with no gaps. If she has early stage Emdometriosis can this cause more problems. The only thing I can confirm is that my granddaughter does suffer with diarrhoea. Thank you for getting back to me. 😊
Birth Control can (in some situations) create more problems with Endo - digging deeper with a Functional Health partner could help! Perhaps a DUTCH complete test!
Take vitamin d3 with k2 and another vitamin d3. Must_Use a good brand and take everyday. Thank me later. Doses may need to be higher for very severe cases. Most women who have endometriosis will be tested with extreme or low vitamin D levels. I suffered with this for many years until recently I started taking these supplements. It is helped a great deal. But I can’t emphasize enough to never skip a day

I started taking Danazol again for 6 months and then had another ultrasound after 5 months, which showed the cyst had grown to 10. Now I'm taking Danazol again. Will there be any side effects? Hi. Suffering with endometriosis. Excruciating pain, heavy bleeding feels like there is a blood pool. I hate to say this but nothing helps. Thanks for the video...
Hi! I have Stage IV and have been a victim of malpractice. My tube was removed without consent when I went in for a myomectomy. Because of that and the scars that resulted, I have frozen pelvis and was told I will need a bowel resection. I do not believe in hysterectomies. Can a Dutch test tell me which estrogen is prevalent? (I stopped getting a cycle when my tube was cut out-I also started aging rapidly). At this point, I detest doctors.

At the core, endometriosis is an inflammatory problem - specifically, a problem with inflammatory or dominant estrogen metabolites. Addressing the symptoms of endo (including excessive bleeding) at the root cause means shifting your hormones away from estrogen dominance and promoting anti-inflammatory estrogen metabolites (like I explain in the video). There are many ways to do this - I list a few at the end of the video!
