But choosing MGS2 would always give you the Raiden mask, a playful jab at the surprise protagonist of that game. I can imagine many fans of Raiden felt pretty attacked by that little Kojima joke

Thankfully, if you beat him the next time, you can retrieve the pieces and have it reforged with additional perks, but does he really have to rub it in?

Exact same thing happened to me with undertale. I played Deltarune Chapter 1 first before buying UT so i knew about the spare all monsters mechanic as its better explained in DR. But yeah classic ahh she'll only surrender when you get her health really low (like capturing a pokemon) and then bam! critical hit. I reset and i got shivers with what flowey said, i wasnt insulted but i was like wtf how does he know, i reset the game it the same save. Was wild and instantly got me hooked on UT. If this isnt how a spare all monsters ran began as your first time play through and you werent expecting it IMO you defo missed out on that twist :D

Ds2 muldron is perfect example of insulting the player, he emote insulting you when you die by him,attack you while still being a barrel and runs to the worst enemies to help him fight you.
Most insulting part of Katamari is not the king coming at you for failing, but when he insults the size of your katamari no matter how much you try (I keep going until he likes it 😔)
