It's certainly an interesting camera, I can see who is aimed at, but I struggle without an EVF (didn't have one in my Olympus).
The images you've shared have been excellent, and that Leica Monochrome is very very nice!
Keep up the good work, enjoying as always.

Thanks Mark! The 24mpx full frame is just about the perfect size.

Hi Jolene! Hi Benny! 💕 Hi Cat! and Hi Dragon! Haha
    Cute black and whites!
I really like the rusty truck.
Nice Red Special - does your green camera have a name too?
I’m glad you’re enjoying the camera- lots of great features and really great video!
I have a basic LUMIX, but it’s a basic point and shoot- haha 😆😎

The green camera is Street Rat. While the S9 is a more video centric camera, it does a real nice job with photography. Lots for me to learn but still having fun!

Great images and agree the Leica Monochrome looks really nice. Personally, I think the 'compromises' Panasonic have made with this camera, are not big issues. I thought lack of an EVF might prove a real negative issue for me, but on reappraisal, I think it might even add to the overall charm of this camera. I've been shooting the X-T30 screen only recently, to see how I got on not using an EVF at all, and the overall experience was fine, so I'm pretty sure would not pose a problem with the S9....For a FF, with such a small build size, that you really can have as an every day carry, that produces pro-stills and video, at a very good price with top-specs, when you consider just what you're getting, I think it's a fantastic camera....Yes, some people do seem to hate it and it has caused division, but, if those people want a hot-shoe, or an EVF, or a mechanical shutter, or whatever, then maybe they should look elsewhere? = t's not rocket science.....and I think pretty thin-skinned and disingenuous to complain about something that's 'missing, or something that should be that isn't, and then 'trash' the camera, when they know all of that before they've even got their hands on it. It just means it's not right for them... Ofc, everyone is entitled to their opinion, camera spec's will suit some and not others, obviously.... However, the image quality does speak for itself and can't really be denied.
I think the answer is pretty simple, and that's just go with what you feel is best for you. Far too many people are swayed by 'popular opinion', or 'influencers' etc., when they should listen to their gut and simply get what's the best fit for them.
Enjoyed the video mate and look forward to your next ones.....I thought the pet portraits were particularly good.

@@innercityunit2112 I’m almost ready to take on the Real Time LUTs. The LUT feature was one of the selling points that attracted me to begin with. I have owned the X70 and X20 and certainly shot with a phone so LCD photography isn’t a problem (just go with what you know and crack that shutter!!!). It’s a matter of trust in the camera and your ability to work with what you got lol. Me record for more than 15 minutes? lol. I have zero interest in editing that!!! I can think of 2 examples out of 200+ videos where I exceeded 15 minutes lol. I’m shocked how well this works as a stills camera and I’m excited to utilize the LUMIX Lab app. In the next few days I will be using the app to mobile import (iPad) 3.8K LITE video VLOG style and check stabilization out and about. The S9 3.8K is a small file at 50mbps but if I get it right in camera it won’t matter. Why? Because it has a big ass sensor that is stabilized better than almost any camera on the market lol. The 3.8K LITE is 3:2 (over capture) so I have some wiggle room top and bottom for framing which is a huge plus when you are a one man two dog show lol. The file is not big enough to crop into very much in post but I do have a zoom lens lol. This approach to video by the S9 is promising to anyone not interested in upgrading computing specs but still want better than action cam video. Getting exposure correct in camera will be critical as there won’t be the information in the file to push or pull the exposure in post. Focus is not an issue because the S9 grabs a face or eye instantly. My hope is the audio just “works” for now because I’m not ready to take that on lol.

Great review, I'm selling mine off as the RAW files are not supported by Apple Photos and Darkroom which is my established workflow. I should have checked first. :(

@@DavidMBanes Bummer. Have you tried a file converter? RW2 to DNG might solve your problem. I hope at some point LUMIX LAB will offer RAW support. Thanks for stopping by!
