The weapon skill tree is really awful. Everyone will play the same 2 weapon variants, no individual customization anymore, no downsides to equipping anymore. This needs a COMPLETE overhaul, it just sucks.

lmao well its no where near, the women thing on the front lines is alright, (altough there was very little women there, most of the women were making atillery back home) however having a front line woman who has a metal arm and running and jumping like its parkour is waaaay to much of a streach
They should of made it like BF3 or 4... but now all the attachments are purely cosmetic other than the optic which is stupid and there shouldn't be a skill tree. Example if you put on a compensator it should be what decreases recoil and not just be for looks.
I am sure they are not idiots and they know previous systems were better. But they are creating a live-service so they have to make sure ppl will grind a lot in order to keep them in the game longer
I think one of the biggest problems is that they are trying to please everyone, which is impossible and impractical. I think they need to make a decision. Is BFV going to be a more hardcore competitive shooter, or is it going to be an accessible arcade style shooter, that anyone can jump in to and have fun. They’re trying to do both, which simply contradicts some of their key design features that they have introduced to this game. Too many contradictions, and thus everyone is running around confused as to what they should actually be doing.
Yes, I think you just put the words to the feelings in me.Some aspects are casual. Like the random recoil patterns and slow bullet speeds. The hardcore aspects relates to the ammo and health systems. As a whole, the gameplay is still good but it leaves a gap in their identity. We do not know what this game is trying to be.

Call me crazy but a simple CoD weapons customization, World at War style, would have been enough for me. These customizations just seem weird. Also, soldier customizations, females aside, look so weird with all the masks and paint. Can your soldier even look like a standard issue infantryman?

Dice needs to fire and blacklist all of their testers. Seriously, their feedback seems to be making the game stumble backwards, instead of fixing it. Who in hell would OK the spawning system where it takes you away from the main map on purpose with 2 states you have to skip through? Nobody I've ever played with in battlefield ever complained about dying and going straight back to the main spawn screen. Hell, we complained about the death state we had to skip in BF1, we don't want ANOTHER ONE.
yolo man not to mention, when you do ‘skip’ the DBNO state, you still have to wait 10 seconds to respawn, which would make it like 15 seconds in total. That’s way too long
@@Lei_VG that's what I was thinking. IMO if they mixed the main map with the ally viewpoint that would be dope. So it's not two separate screens. And if they cut down the overall spawn time, it's extremely long for a game like this.

Game reminds me of a bunch of dudes playing airsoft in a city. THERE IS NO ATMOSPHERE! This is WW2 people. Bombers should be in the sky, planes dogfighting, crap blowing up, smoke everywhere. not this laid back crap.
It's a beta build. It's not meant to have all the bells and whistles. That's for full release of the game. Just like you can't unlock everything because it's not meant to be all unlocked in the beta testing.
The game does not feel like WWII. The soldiers look goofy, the feeling of "all out war" is completely absent, there is not enough destruction. I'm passing on this one.
Honestly the more gameplay I see, the less I like it. It honestly doesn't look that fun, it actually doesn't feel like WW2 at all I don't know why, it's got a weird vibe to it, maybe it's overly vibrant? idk. and for some reason It doesn't seem like big WW2 battles, the gameplay makes it look like small skirmishes with a person showing up every now and then. idk I have to try it for myself, but it looks like Hardline not a full fledged BF game.
The issue with maps feeling empty and lack of a war vibe going on i berlive is down to what happens when you remove 100% spotting. The benefits of spotting is that you can see roughly where the major fights are happening on the map, choose to join that or flank that ect. People tend to like to be in the thick of it because its fun right. With no spotting you no longer have any idea where the main fights are going down on the map. So people spread out all over the map more and your left with no grouped fights going down and thus a feeling of empty maps. Add into the equation the limited ammo and grenade spams, also can be a good thing, but again it means less people will put down covering fire, which is again a realistic war thing people do, and lack of explosions from grenades, tank fire ect and you dont hear the sounds of war often. Again adding the effect of lack of a war feeling. Sometimes what looks like good ideas can have detrimental effects on gameplay, feel. And you have to wonder if its worth it? and maybe those things, ie spotting , limited ammo are the glue that give you the BF experience.
You know, you bring up some very good points, haven't even thought about this. I mean I get that less ammo slows it down, but not THAT much, figured it was due to longer spawns, but the spotting and as a result gathering of the players do make a lot of sense. Bravo
What about respawning??? Two hours to skip reviving, no one helping you because no one sees the HUD saying you're death... Combine no ammo and no health with taking a year to respawn. People not risking at all. This is shit

The complaint about footsteps is totally accurate, it feels like if you don’t directly see someone coming at you it’s gonna be super hard to detect them unlike previous games

Yea, the maps they picked to test with weren't the greatest IMO, I'm all for a few infantry maps like Rotterdam for variety but what has always made Battlefield standout is its grand vehicle maps like El Alamein or Caspian. Here's hoping they have some better ones for release.

There are only couple of maps. ;) Have some hope. No premium(all dlc's free). No loot boxes (all customisation is ingame currancy). I see them fixing all bf1 faults. But also looking at bf3/4. Dont forget Bf1 had couple massive scale maps with MANY vehicles. We are in beta. Hope is real. EA might win back their fans.
The Maps feels Empty af like if were only 32 players and I don't like the lack of ammunition and the health system just my opinion, and there are too many things on screen i can barely see the enemy, it seems bf1 had better graphics

As someone who has spent 1000+ hrs on this franchise, this battlefield is boring, sluggish, basic,not fun and extremely disappointing, battlefront 2 is actually a great game compared to this thing
With the “in-game services” if you look at Star Wars battlefront 2. They have the same issues on this aspect. Just shows that a lot of their problems and issues carry over into their same games. In the SWBF2 community we’ve been complaining about these services since its release. So dice please. You’ve known about this issue. Learn from other games and fix things
This isn’t a ‘give us feedback so we can fix the game’ kind of beta. It’s too late for that. This is a ‘tell us about MINOR bugs so we can half-fix them’ kind of beta. What is here resembles the final product in almost all shapes and forms besides the massive field of bugs that plague it which will most likely never be fully ironed out. There is no possible way they can fix: the limited weapons and customization that rely on currency (which will most likely be a micro transaction), the horrible map design (from the maps we’ve seen), the absolute GARBAGE menu interfaces, the dodgy flight mechanics, the network issues, how you can’t even buy upgrades for your weapons or look at your challenges while playing the game but instead have to LEAVE the match you’re already in and view it in the main menu, etc, etc, etc. IN JUST TWO MONTHS. The entire game was built on these very issues and due to that by attempting to remove them you’d have to rework a lot of the game, which takes a bit longer than just TWO MONTHS.

Lewis Blanchard I too have been playing from bf1942 and idk how you can say that. This game is a bf1 reskin, it’s complete arcade and removes so many things bf has had in its core. Just how terrible the vehicle system alone is enough for me to not want it. I’ve purchased every single bf, I’ve even played the shitty free ones on origin and this is the first that I will not be buying.
After playing this yesterday, and reading many, many comments all over the web, I'm confident that BFV is going to be a commercial disaster for EA. This game just doesn't _feel_ like Battlefield. Its like a Battlefield clone made by people that don't understand what makes Battlefield great.

I suggest DICE goes back and actually plays BF1942 and BFBC2 Vietnam and ask themselves. Why was these good? And why did everyone like them. Honestly it's not about the customization so much as it is about the gameplay, pace, immersion. Compared to any other BF experience this seems lacking, and the maps have shrunk once again. Every new BF game feels like the general size of the maps gets smaller and smaller. Notice a trend? Cod?

BF4 had the biggest maps they've ever had and those were trash. BF1 had decent sized maps but everyone ran ridiculously fast. I feel like the vanilla BF3 maps were the best size.
actually I'd argue that Rotterdam is too BIG as you can run around for a minute with no combat. Other than that, spot on. I topped the leaderboard on my first game which surprised me, the gunplay felt decent. But it's all so messy, so many confusing systems and menus. I miss when BF was simpler and focused on immersion and combat over all the excess.
@@TheTjam84 I don't think it's the size of the map, but the way the respawning is. If you go down, you spend more than twice the amount of time dead then any of the other games in the series. I have that problem on both maps.
True. Still, i love BF1 just because of the artstyle, the theme and feeling it gave me. The War Stories are heart-wrenching and pretty gripping and although it's even more casual than before, it is still cool
AAHD 7 all I remember when bf3 came out was how everyone was bitching about how it’s so shit compared to bfbc2 and then when bf4 came out everyone was saying how shitty and buggy it was and that itll never be as good as bf3, and the same with bf1 and etc. I hate the gaming community now. The main reason is because reviving takes time, I’ve gotten killed many times during the beta because I went in to heal people and I forgot about how long it takes. But if course they’re will always be retards who don’t revive even if you’re alone.
tbh it looks way too similar to battlefield 1, the ttk, HUD, and general gameplay looks nothing like BF3 or 4 but almost identical to BF1, so I don't really know what you're on about
@Simple Animations - I don't mind playing as a woman if it's in the proper context like in Medal Of Honor Underground. What bothers me are the ways DICE is trying to follow the crowd like putting in a gimmicky Fortniteish building mechanic and a COD like over the top single player. The non- historical customization options is another minus. Taking out proper spotting in another and the list of issues goes on from there.

The game sucks. At least on Xbox. I feel like I'm skating around. It doesn't feel like I'm shooting something, there is no meat to the weapons, pew pew. It plays very slow, there is no feel of danger like there was in other bf games. I've also run into a lot of audio glitches. Also switching weapons and equipment is buggy. This is not battlefield. At least that's what I think. The attrition system sucks as well. Oh and this bleed out thing. Holy crap is that shit. No medics will pick you up because it's bf... just let me respawn.
Rare, I felt I was playing a bf4 in wwii. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that everyone look so different of what I got used to see in movies. It lacks of fan service, it's great that they actually introduced real stuff which Hollywood didn't tell us (reason why DICE former called people uneducated), but still, it was painfull to see that every sniper is a girl. The gameplay is awesome though, best of the series.
@@cashcarstar2458 the bugs don't really bug me (pun intended). It's the core gameplay that I find very disappointing. It's slow, lacks atmosphere, has an annoying attrition system and worst of all it's just boring.
I'm pretty sure if you hit A or B on the controller it will skip the bleed out thing. This probably wont do you good because nobody is interested in playing that clunky game at the moment. Hope it possibly helped you out.
I've put 10 hours into the beta, its better than the alpha, but it just gets boring fast. Feel like im kinda done with it already. The biggest issue im having is the maps feel empty even though there small, its a horrible feeling after all BF always had that chaos of war vibe going on and im just not feeling it. As for other issues yeh jack said most of the big ones. The assault guns are stupid op and they get a dmr which is better than most of the recons snipers atm, just feels like alot balance issues for a game only a month off. I cant help but want to go back to bf1 after afew games on bfv, its just more fun, and i wasnt even a huge fan of that one but at least it felt like a bf / ww1 game.
Played the Alphas and Beta and I'm not pulled into it AT ALL. BF1 Beta was far more immersive than BF5 is. This feels like a cheap version of CoD. The sounds ( or lack of them ) , the environment the animations everything. I'm hating this skill tree too and this is based on how I felt in BF4. I was a late joiner to BF4 and I was being mopped around by other players who were far more advanced in gear than I was. They had already Zillions of attachments and improvements to their weapons and I was thrown in the middle of the map larger than life itself with a iron sights SMG. Of course the skills and the time you dedicate to a game makes the bigger impact, but we all know that in a modern warfare FPS a scope or holosight makes a huge difference. I played 25 hours of BF4 and went back to BF1 which I play regiously every day at least 2 or 3 hours. And I still feel like playing it since day one. I have even 2 PC accounts which one is maxed out and the other is somewhat in the middle. I play with both and if you leave out the skill factor, you won't get behind someone who's lvl 150 with all guns unlocked. Because you fight back in equal terms and you feel you have a chance. Something that won't be happening in this game and many people will quit it since no one likes to be someone's punching bag. You can only blame your skills, not the equipment since everyone gets the same and every class and every weapon can be countered.
For me, Battlefield was all about those stupid chaotic moments, I guess you can say those "Only in Battlefield" moments. Getting that 1000m sniper kill, taking out that plane with a rocket launcher, or that excitement of simply waiting to respawn because you can't wait to get back in and go for another big flank. I'm just not feeling that with both BF1 and BFV

Being a sniper in this game is the most unpleasant experience ever in a Battlefield game. Shooting with a nerf on which you have to unlock basic functions (like zeroing) and the long scope is shit. Actually the scopes are shit. Using DICE's logic, in ww1 they had marks on scopes for different distances but in ww2 they decided that it was way too practical and they wanted a challenge so they removed it. So frustrated with this game.

I just don’t like how the British soldiers don’t even look like British soldiers or even soldiers at all. Not on of them is wearing the standard issue United Kingdom helmet
This is what makes me laugh. Honestly. It's like a game made by millennial hipster students. I laughed the first time I saw my squad on screen at the end of the game. It comprised of two gimps wearing a horrible mask, a japanese woman, and pharrell williams.
I really, really don't like the whole running out of ammo quickly and having to resupply from the crate things. The gameplay just feels clunky too me, bf1 is so much more of a superior game. I also dislike having to wait to bleed out, we should just be able to skip it instantly if we want, i'm sick of having to wait in a downed state. Hopefully things change because to me, this game doesn't feel like battlefield at all. I can't play more than one map in the beta because its boring as fuck...
I agree on the whole ammo thing but the skipping part is gonna be so annoying for medics trying to come rez you. So they can keep that in game but skip the rez animation plox.

urb BF3, 4 and hardline I haven’t had major issues. They were there and annoying but that’s how it is. It wasn’t the majority of each team is sniping like I experienced the two days I played BFV. BF1 was terrible because snipers had range and just about every other gun in that game had no accuracy or range besides the slow firing semi autos that were basically snipers without scopes. This is why I loved MoH. It wasn’t vehicle and sniping oriented.
I agree, played soo many games of operations where squads i jumped into were all sitting sniping, same on cq. Needs a limit on folk spawning with telescopic sights. Small percentage chance of spawning with one if you have one equipped depending on how many are in play/ how many are equipped in the team
My BETA experience, so far I feel upset about the overall experience. I have played battlefield since 1942. This is not battlefield they punish the player on every aspect health, ammo and the revival macanic hinders you making the game not enjoyable. The base building is a gimmick and a mess when you combine everything and play for 8 to 10 hour you realize that Dice has lost it's way and tried to fix a formula that was perfect with this gimmicky trash. On top of it all in a 60 player match it feels empty maybe everyone is off somewhere trying to build and combine that with the people sniping it feels empty. This is battlefield not fortnight, what the fuck are you doing Dice!?
I played since bf1942 also. Playing that game all those years ago i had great hope for the future of gaming and am disapointed at what gaming has become. Bf2 was the last great bf game i played in my opinion
It is almost as if the spotting mechanic helped people find each other to fight. I find it extremely hard to find people on ps4 as there is too much blurring going on, even with motion blur and all the related stuff turned off. The TTK is high, so it is taking people a while to get used to it. Most people don't have standard gadgets unlocked yet, so med crates & ammo boxes haven't been deployed much near the fighting - they are starting to appear. Everything for the casual player has been nerfed to shit into "skill", which means more people are constantly running around simply looking for ammo & health more than the enemy. Or they camp even harder. Every ammo/ health dump has someone camping nearby waiting for the cheap shot.
I think being able to play as "female" character is a very great idea but when I played bf5 yesterday I was dissapionted becuz I can't creat my own character and gender-lock for scout class. it make no sense at all. Atleast if dice want to have female on battlefield they should give the player freedom about character customizations.
Striker Ro Dice said they want to give player a LOT of customizations but god damn compared to free-to-play korean shooter, BF5 customization is shit. hope it will be better for the finished version.
One thing I hate about the beta is the fact that everything is blue. Lots of areas in the menu like upgrade menus for example, are just bathed in blue light. And it looks off.

Customization is also my biggest issue with this game! Why didn't they just use the customization system of BF4... they even have all the different attachments for the visual customization!
And quiet. That’s the loss of horses and behemoths and smaller maps and other things people found annoying. BF4 is more quiet than BF1 too but BFV does seem lacking in toys. Maybe they should double up all teams (64 > 128).
The freaking revive system... so aids. How come previous battlefield games you can watch the little cam of the person who killed you and can be revived during that, but now they decide to make the damn thing like 10 seconds long, and if you decide to “call for help” the timer doesn’t even run its course until you get to the spawn menu!!! What the heck! Plus the animation to skip is way too long! Fix it EA!!!! >:(

the amount of UI on the screen is annoying. Like i'm trying to look for enemy players and then, UI is there to distract. Also, chat doesn't dissappear for me and it takes up 15% of the screen.
Yeah I don’t like that upgrade system for weapons. Not my bag at all. Just give me a spray/camo and some attachments. I like my RPG characters to have skill trees, not my FPS weapons..

Abdul Nour El Beb in my ps4 it looks great. Runs at over 50 FPS and the visual blur is minimal. The game feels a lot better than bf1 but let’s not forget that some sounds are absent and bugged rn so don’t expect the sounds in the full game to sound like what it does now
You are goddam right. In bf1 beta already at my first respawn it felt exactlylike a war, artilley shells all around, all the squad taking cover and so on and sofort. I've played BfV for approx. 3 hours and I am still like: when does it start? I am not sure why but it has not the same vibe. I did not buy bf1 for the setting and I also won't buy this one for the same exact reason.
I agree to extent but the gunplay feels much better..the hit reg is really good most of the time..feels enjoyable to play..just hate how ridiculously fast paced it is. Hopefully there are bigger maps.
lmao Delzear, BF1 was trash. Got around 500h in BF3 and almost a thousand in BF4. Loved BC2 and BF2 back in the day and every actual fan can see how they casualize the fuck out of the franchise and dumb it down for people like you and Lucas who think "BF1 is fun and competetive"
Ok so I've been trying the beta... Really sorry... not a fan. Wanted to like it but it feels like...and sorry for swearing..COD 😱 The running mechanics feel odd-almost like you're gliding,the gun mechanics feel nasty-way too 'light' (watch a video on youtube of an stg 44 being fired-it's nothing like on BfV)and the whole thing is too fast and jerky. There's zero atmosphere and as for the colours-way too oversaturated-I can see why some people are saying it's cartoon-like-not the graphics but the colours. Will try again tomorrow to see but at the moment (I'm aware it's only a Beta)this will be the first Battlefield I won't be getting on release- makes me sad as a long time fan

Agree, only played it for one night and have left it now as I don’t want to have it ruined any more. On PS4 it looks terrible, BF1 compared looks like the far superior game
I used to love trying out new guns in battlefield 3 and 4 and unlucky attachments as i played, im really not a fan of this new system it looks so limited and boring
@@shibashibaa6665 "doesnt matter if its not modern" scopes in ww2 were reserved for highly trained snipers. Most of the scopes in bf1 and b5 aren't real. The only attachment that would be used are beyonets
The best times I've had in Battlefield: Long range M98B in BF3, Deagle destroying in BF4, and the first few days on the last map pack for BF1. Running around Passchendaele and Somme with the double Mosin combo or 1917/1911 combo was the absolute best. Full teams running around Pass capping flags, literally 64 people fighting over B flag. Somme was just as insane with the match starting off with tanks and gas artillery, really captured the essence of dirty, bloody bodies-thrown-to-the-grinder WWI. I mostly played Scout with infantry rifles, and Support with MG-14 and LMG 08/18. My biggest complaint is that I just don't get the WWII feel of BFV. BF1 struggled for it because of how prevalent automatic weapons were, but I think still had a good feel for it with mass team charges. BFV just feels like BF4 with a WWII skin. I think all the SMGs, rifles, and MGs blend together into a general "assault rifle" category, with some exceptions. I think the weapons need a greater divide in them, to really categorize them properly. A 25 lbs Bren and a 9 pound MP40 shouldn't handle so similarly in close quarters.
Totally agree, even if mechanicly bf1 wasnt the best, it sure was amazing at atmosphere and the chaos of war. Its so fun with the amount of shit going on, ur never left to releax. Bfv however your trying your hardest to find gameplay most of the time. And because the ttk is so low when you do find someone you kill them so fast or they kill you so fast your back to running around looking for action again.
Same here, even I wasn't directly play this game (but, honestly, I want to play it because, IDK, the gun play?). It'll be falls to the 2nd BF4 with more problem on others sides. Then, what's next? The fans would be do their justice to shrunk their confidence and ended like Battlefront II? I hope not. Because the reason why this game fail is also the relation between the Hardcore Fanboy, Fans, DICE and the EA. But, there's a hope. Because I was once playing Project Reality (BF2 with ARMA senses-mod), some of the mechanism will be familiar to me, mostly like a hardcore version of BF1 actually.
What I love about all the Battlefield games is the in game gun customisation. Changing scopes, adding barrel attachments like silencers for when you need it etc. I want to be able to add attachments not unlock skills. I understand there are less attachments being in WW2 but they managed it for BF1. As much as I've been holding onto hope this game, the attachment/skill tree system is a real downgrade for me. Hopefully this is just because the game is in beta and Dice have a way to go to until a full, well polished game. Seems crazy you have to be out of the game to change your weapon setup
BF3 was by far the best and pinnacle of the battlefield series. Most aspects of the game were balanced well, all weapons and fighting styles felt good (it wasn't just a grenade spam like BF1), most of the bugs were minor (unlike BF4), the maps we're a perfect size to encourage action while giving room to outplay.
I’d honestly be happy with a WW2 re-skin for BF1 with some new features and a few changes. After playing BFV for a few hours it simply doesn’t have that ‘battlefield’ experience. Although the maps are beautiful they feel oddly empty, past battlefield games were action packed and you felt like you were in the middle of an actually WAR.

WWI was a slow and methodical push through trenches and smaller towns with very little movement except for the times where armies would literally outlast their enemy to win, since disease was rampant. There was mostly bolt actions being used as well, very few of these fully automatic weapons we see in the game hold for a few light machine guns. WWII on the other hand was fast and deadly seen through tactics such as Blitzerkreig and the development and mass production of better weapons. There was less methodical trench pushed for strategic locations and more capturing of important towns and cities. Oh and this war ended within days after the atomic bomb killed thousands of people. These wars were different so their games should reflect that. BF1 might be fun but it sure as hell doesn't reflect WWI in an accurate way.
These were the same complaints people had about BF1 before it came out. Just wait till the game is out and more maps start coming out for it. And one thing DICE does do well is patch as much as they can. CTE should help a lot too. It greatly helped BF4 and BF1
There have been more than a few maps throughout battlefield's history where there is only small skirmishes instead of all-out war. You have a bit of selective memory don't you?

Can't agree much more. Definitely gonna try the open beta, but honestly, BF lost it's soul. Unless they get their shit together to make BFBC3 (and make it good), BF is just turning out as any other game these days.

Is like no one addressing the ammo count and how the medic and support class aren't like the support classes they once were? They changed to much and it doesn't feel like battlefield. The ammo in the fighter is fine. But why does a tiger only have 16 shots ?
i spend more time running to supply depots than i do actually fighting every part of the game irritates the shit out of me. only good thing is the gunplay but thats to be expected so no points for getting the most obvious thing right
@@Keychain117 but the tanks still had more shells than that, and considering the Tiger is a heavy tank it should have at least 25 shells in my opinion, and in the full game the Pzkpfw IV F2 should have more because it's a medium tank and possibly have a slightly faster reload than the heavy tanks
I have no regrets with my pre order. The game plays great. Of course it has a couple bugs but it’ll mostly be fixed at launch. Play the beta. Reviews won’t determine how you feel about a game unless you try it.
I enjoyed the beta, but they need to change the rubbish plane controls. Instead of constantly dragging the mouse to move, maybe have it so the plane moves proportionality to the offset the mouse is at from the centre of the screen? Like in war thunder or the fsx mouse yoke.
A remake of a game that looks just as good as modern games? Sometimes better? And still has a big audience and lots of servers? Why remake a modern and alive game?
I’m not someone who cared about women with biotic arms in the game but the game just looks boring and the “improvements” seem to go backwards. Might go down as one of the worst battlefields. I know it hasn’t come out but playing the beta just feels empty and not engaging.
I forgot to mention the epicness of bf1 in general. You can find that epicness when advancing in Frontlines, in Operations, when behemoths arrive, even when the narrator tell the stories before operations begins and at final. I wish DICE added this things into the final version of BFV
These games have had a gradual decline since bf4 and I don't like it, dice should go back to taking their time to release better titles a lot of the gameplay and gun customization issues I've heard so far were also complaints I heard about swbf2 so the devs knew these were a problem and kept going anyways that's just lazy
Totally agree, after all the effort they put into BF3, BF4 and all the titles after just haven't been able to live up to the execution. The only thing that will save BF5 for me is if the maps are good, and if rush gets decent maps, but BF1 and BF4 indicate otherwise.
Honestly this beta didn't satisfy me. When I played the BF1 beta it was a rush of enjoyment and new experiences with world War 1 technology. But now I kill one guy and I'm instantly destroyed, I revive a teammate and I grab their gun and the dog fighting is choppy and feels lacking, though this is a beta so I don't know if the full game might have this impact.
This looks average. Too many great games coming out later this year to give BFV the playtime I usually give BF games. Do better DICE. I hope the next one will be good.
XSM_highflypika I'm really excited because Dice can make huge maps that look and run great. I'm going to say right up that Battlefield will have the best Battle Royale system out of all of the others. Now I can finally play a good game with the great graphics and the gameplay style that I like the best, compared to Fortnite and even PUBG. I can't wait for playing with Tanks, because that my favorite way to play in Battlefield!

The weapon skill tree is really awful. Everyone will play the same 2 weapon variants, no individual customization anymore, no downsides to equipping anymore. This needs a COMPLETE overhaul, it just sucks.

I think one of the biggest problems is that they are trying to please everyone, which is impossible and impractical. I think they need to make a decision. Is BFV going to be a more hardcore competitive shooter, or is it going to be an accessible arcade style shooter, that anyone can jump in to and have fun. They’re trying to do both, which simply contradicts some of their key design features that they have introduced to this game. Too many contradictions, and thus everyone is running around confused as to what they should actually be doing.

Dice needs to fire and blacklist all of their testers. Seriously, their feedback seems to be making the game stumble backwards, instead of fixing it. Who in hell would OK the spawning system where it takes you away from the main map on purpose with 2 states you have to skip through? Nobody I've ever played with in battlefield ever complained about dying and going straight back to the main spawn screen. Hell, we complained about the death state we had to skip in BF1, we don't want ANOTHER ONE.

The issue with maps feeling empty and lack of a war vibe going on i berlive is down to what happens when you remove 100% spotting. The benefits of spotting is that you can see roughly where the major fights are happening on the map, choose to join that or flank that ect. People tend to like to be in the thick of it because its fun right. With no spotting you no longer have any idea where the main fights are going down on the map. So people spread out all over the map more and your left with no grouped fights going down and thus a feeling of empty maps. Add into the equation the limited ammo and grenade spams, also can be a good thing, but again it means less people will put down covering fire, which is again a realistic war thing people do, and lack of explosions from grenades, tank fire ect and you dont hear the sounds of war often. Again adding the effect of lack of a war feeling.
Sometimes what looks like good ideas can have detrimental effects on gameplay, feel. And you have to wonder if its worth it? and maybe those things, ie spotting , limited ammo are the glue that give you the BF experience.
You know, you bring up some very good points, haven't even thought about this. I mean I get that less ammo slows it down, but not THAT much, figured it was due to longer spawns, but the spotting and as a result gathering of the players do make a lot of sense. Bravo

Yea, the maps they picked to test with weren't the greatest IMO, I'm all for a few infantry maps like Rotterdam for variety but what has always made Battlefield standout is its grand vehicle maps like El Alamein or Caspian. Here's hoping they have some better ones for release.

There are only couple of maps. ;) Have some hope. No premium(all dlc's free). No loot boxes (all customisation is ingame currancy). I see them fixing all bf1 faults. But also looking at bf3/4. Dont forget Bf1 had couple massive scale maps with MANY vehicles. We are in beta. Hope is real. EA might win back their fans.

The Maps feels Empty af like if were only 32 players and I don't like the lack of ammunition and the health system just my opinion, and there are too many things on screen i can barely see the enemy, it seems bf1 had better graphics

With the “in-game services” if you look at Star Wars battlefront 2. They have the same issues on this aspect. Just shows that a lot of their problems and issues carry over into their same games. In the SWBF2 community we’ve been complaining about these services since its release. So dice please. You’ve known about this issue. Learn from other games and fix things

This isn’t a ‘give us feedback so we can fix the game’ kind of beta. It’s too late for that. This is a ‘tell us about MINOR bugs so we can half-fix them’ kind of beta. What is here resembles the final product in almost all shapes and forms besides the massive field of bugs that plague it which will most likely never be fully ironed out. There is no possible way they can fix: the limited weapons and customization that rely on currency (which will most likely be a micro transaction), the horrible map design (from the maps we’ve seen), the absolute GARBAGE menu interfaces, the dodgy flight mechanics, the network issues, how you can’t even buy upgrades for your weapons or look at your challenges while playing the game but instead have to LEAVE the match you’re already in and view it in the main menu, etc, etc, etc. IN JUST TWO MONTHS. The entire game was built on these very issues and due to that by attempting to remove them you’d have to rework a lot of the game, which takes a bit longer than just TWO MONTHS.

I suggest DICE goes back and actually plays BF1942 and BFBC2 Vietnam and ask themselves. Why was these good? And why did everyone like them. Honestly it's not about the customization so much as it is about the gameplay, pace, immersion. Compared to any other BF experience this seems lacking, and the maps have shrunk once again. Every new BF game feels like the general size of the maps gets smaller and smaller. Notice a trend? Cod?
Eh, everyone is evolving, I used to enjoy Wow back in its early day, do I want to play it again ? Hell no, its not because it was good back then/people liked it that they would now.
BF4 had the biggest maps they've ever had and those were trash. BF1 had decent sized maps but everyone ran ridiculously fast. I feel like the vanilla BF3 maps were the best size.
The audio in BFBC2 was also much more intense imo
actually I'd argue that Rotterdam is too BIG as you can run around for a minute with no combat. Other than that, spot on. I topped the leaderboard on my first game which surprised me, the gunplay felt decent. But it's all so messy, so many confusing systems and menus. I miss when BF was simpler and focused on immersion and combat over all the excess.
@@TheTjam84 I don't think it's the size of the map, but the way the respawning is. If you go down, you spend more than twice the amount of time dead then any of the other games in the series. I have that problem on both maps.

The main reason is because reviving takes time, I’ve gotten killed many times during the beta because I went in to heal people and I forgot about how long it takes. But if course they’re will always be retards who don’t revive even if you’re alone.
The revive system is terrible. You can't force people to revive, they need skip revive back. Takes way too long

What bothers me are the ways DICE is trying to follow the crowd like putting in a gimmicky Fortniteish building mechanic and a COD like over the top single player. The non- historical customization options is another minus. Taking out proper spotting in another and the list of issues goes on from there.

The game sucks. At least on Xbox. I feel like I'm skating around. It doesn't feel like I'm shooting something, there is no meat to the weapons, pew pew. It plays very slow, there is no feel of danger like there was in other bf games. I've also run into a lot of audio glitches. Also switching weapons and equipment is buggy.

Rare, I felt I was playing a bf4 in wwii. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that everyone look so different of what I got used to see in movies.
It lacks of fan service, it's great that they actually introduced real stuff which Hollywood didn't tell us (reason why DICE former called people uneducated), but still, it was painfull to see that every sniper is a girl.
The gameplay is awesome though, best of the series.

It's slow, lacks atmosphere, has an annoying attrition system and worst of all it's just boring.
I'm pretty sure if you hit A or B on the controller it will skip the bleed out thing. This probably wont do you good because nobody is interested in playing that clunky game at the moment. Hope it possibly helped you out.
I've put 10 hours into the beta, its better than the alpha, but it just gets boring fast. Feel like im kinda done with it already. The biggest issue im having is the maps feel empty even though there small, its a horrible feeling after all BF always had that chaos of war vibe going on and im just not feeling it. As for other issues yeh jack said most of the big ones. The assault guns are stupid op and they get a dmr which is better than most of the recons snipers atm, just feels like alot balance issues for a game only a month off. I cant help but want to go back to bf1 after afew games on bfv, its just more fun, and i wasnt even a huge fan of that one but at least it felt like a bf / ww1 game.

Played the Alphas and Beta and I'm not pulled into it AT ALL. BF1 Beta was far more immersive than BF5 is. This feels like a cheap version of CoD. The sounds ( or lack of them ) , the environment the animations everything. I'm hating this skill tree too and this is based on how I felt in BF4. I was a late joiner to BF4 and I was being mopped around by other players who were far more advanced in gear than I was. They had already Zillions of attachments and improvements to their weapons and I was thrown in the middle of the map larger than life itself with a iron sights SMG. Of course the skills and the time you dedicate to a game makes the bigger impact, but we all know that in a modern warfare FPS a scope or holosight makes a huge difference. I played 25 hours of BF4 and went back to BF1 which I play regiously every day at least 2 or 3 hours. And I still feel like playing it since day one. I have even 2 PC accounts which one is maxed out and the other is somewhat in the middle. I play with both and if you leave out the skill factor, you won't get behind someone who's lvl 150 with all guns unlocked. Because you fight back in equal terms and you feel you have a chance. Something that won't be happening in this game and many people will quit it since no one likes to be someone's punching bag. You can only blame your skills, not the equipment since everyone gets the same and every class and every weapon can be countered.
For me, Battlefield was all about those stupid chaotic moments, I guess you can say those "Only in Battlefield" moments. Getting that 1000m sniper kill, taking out that plane with a rocket launcher, or that excitement of simply waiting to respawn because you can't wait to get back in and go for another big flank. I'm just not feeling that with both BF1 and BFV
I feel like it has a bit to do with the time period its in. WWI & II don't really have the tech to do that shit, I suppose.

Being a sniper in this game is the most unpleasant experience ever in a Battlefield game. Shooting with a nerf on which you have to unlock basic functions (like zeroing) and the long scope is shit. Actually the scopes are shit. Using DICE's logic, in ww1 they had marks on scopes for different distances but in ww2 they decided that it was way too practical and they wanted a challenge so they removed it. So frustrated with this game.

I really, really don't like the whole running out of ammo quickly and having to resupply from the crate things. The gameplay just feels clunky too me, bf1 is so much more of a superior game. I also dislike having to wait to bleed out, we should just be able to skip it instantly if we want, i'm sick of having to wait in a downed state. Hopefully things change because to me, this game doesn't feel like battlefield at all. I can't play more than one map in the beta because its boring as fuck...

urb BF3, 4 and hardline I haven’t had major issues. They were there and annoying but that’s how it is. It wasn’t the majority of each team is sniping like I experienced the two days I played BFV. BF1 was terrible because snipers had range and just about every other gun in that game had no accuracy or range besides the slow firing semi autos that were basically snipers without scopes. This is why I loved MoH. It wasn’t vehicle and sniping oriented.

Needs a limit on folk spawning with telescopic sights. Small percentage chance of spawning with one if you have one equipped depending on how many are in play/ how many are equipped in the team

My BETA experience, so far I feel upset about the overall experience. I have played battlefield since 1942. This is not battlefield they punish the player on every aspect health, ammo and the revival macanic hinders you making the game not enjoyable. The base building is a gimmick and a mess when you combine everything and play for 8 to 10 hour you realize that Dice has lost it's way and tried to fix a formula that was perfect with this gimmicky trash. On top of it all in a 60 player match it feels empty maybe everyone is off somewhere trying to build and combine that with the people sniping it feels empty. This is battlefield not fortnight, what the fuck are you doing Dice!?
I played since bf1942 also. Playing that game all those years ago i had great hope for the future of gaming and am disapointed at what gaming has become. Bf2 was the last great bf game i played in my opinion
It is almost as if the spotting mechanic helped people find each other to fight. I find it extremely hard to find people on ps4 as there is too much blurring going on, even with motion blur and all the related stuff turned off.
The TTK is high, so it is taking people a while to get used to it. Most people don't have standard gadgets unlocked yet, so med crates & ammo boxes haven't been deployed much near the fighting - they are starting to appear.
Everything for the casual player has been nerfed to shit into "skill", which means more people are constantly running around simply looking for ammo & health more than the enemy. Or they camp even harder. Every ammo/ health dump has someone camping nearby waiting for the cheap shot.
I’m an original BF1942 player.. I really like this game so far. I’m having a lot of fun in the beta.
They made the game more squad focused. You have to play as a squad to heal and resupply. Once you do that you will enjoy the game

I think being able to play as "female" character is a very great idea but when I played bf5 yesterday I was dissapionted becuz I can't creat my own character and gender-lock for scout class. it make no sense at all. Atleast if dice want to have female on battlefield they should give the player freedom about character customizations.

One thing I hate about the beta is the fact that everything is blue. Lots of areas in the menu like upgrade menus for example, are just bathed in blue light. And it looks off.

How come previous battlefield games you can watch the little cam of the person who killed you and can be revived during that, but now they decide to make the damn thing like 10 seconds long, and if you decide to “call for help” the timer doesn’t even run its course until you get to the spawn menu!!! What the heck! Plus the animation to skip is way too long! Fix it EA!!!! >:(

Abdul Nour El Beb in my ps4 it looks great. Runs at over 50 FPS and the visual blur is minimal. The game feels a lot better than bf1 but let’s not forget that some sounds are absent and bugged rn so don’t expect the sounds in the full game to sound like what it does now

I've played BfV for approx. 3 hours and I am still like: when does it start? I am not sure why but it has not the same vibe. I did not buy bf1 for the setting and I also won't buy this one for the same exact reason.

The running mechanics feel odd-almost like you're gliding,the gun mechanics feel nasty-way too 'light' (watch a video on youtube of an stg 44 being fired-it's nothing like on BfV)and the whole thing is too fast and jerky.
There's zero atmosphere and as for the colours-way too oversaturated-I can see why some people are saying it's cartoon-like-not the graphics but the colours.
Will try again tomorrow to see but at the moment (I'm aware it's only a Beta)this will be the first Battlefield I won't be getting on release- makes me sad as a long time fan

The best times I've had in Battlefield: Long range M98B in BF3, Deagle destroying in BF4, and the first few days on the last map pack for BF1. Running around Passchendaele and Somme with the double Mosin combo or 1917/1911 combo was the absolute best. Full teams running around Pass capping flags, literally 64 people fighting over B flag. Somme was just as insane with the match starting off with tanks and gas artillery, really captured the essence of dirty, bloody bodies-thrown-to-the-grinder WWI. I mostly played Scout with infantry rifles, and Support with MG-14 and LMG 08/18.
My biggest complaint is that I just don't get the WWII feel of BFV. BF1 struggled for it because of how prevalent automatic weapons were, but I think still had a good feel for it with mass team charges. BFV just feels like BF4 with a WWII skin. I think all the SMGs, rifles, and MGs blend together into a general "assault rifle" category, with some exceptions. I think the weapons need a greater divide in them, to really categorize them properly. A 25 lbs Bren and a 9 pound MP40 shouldn't handle so similarly in close quarters.
Totally agree, even if mechanicly bf1 wasnt the best, it sure was amazing at atmosphere and the chaos of war. Its so fun with the amount of shit going on, ur never left to releax. Bfv however your trying your hardest to find gameplay most of the time. And because the ttk is so low when you do find someone you kill them so fast or they kill you so fast your back to running around looking for action again.

Same here, even I wasn't directly play this game (but, honestly, I want to play it because, IDK, the gun play?). It'll be falls to the 2nd BF4 with more problem on others sides. Then, what's next? The fans would be do their justice to shrunk their confidence and ended like Battlefront II? I hope not. Because the reason why this game fail is also the relation between the Hardcore Fanboy, Fans, DICE and the EA.
But, there's a hope. Because I was once playing Project Reality (BF2 with ARMA senses-mod), some of the mechanism will be familiar to me, mostly like a hardcore version of BF1 actually.

What I love about all the Battlefield games is the in game gun customisation. Changing scopes, adding barrel attachments like silencers for when you need it etc. I want to be able to add attachments not unlock skills. I understand there are less attachments being in WW2 but they managed it for BF1. As much as I've been holding onto hope this game, the attachment/skill tree system is a real downgrade for me. Hopefully this is just because the game is in beta and Dice have a way to go to until a full, well polished game. Seems crazy you have to be out of the game to change your weapon setup

BF3 was by far the best and pinnacle of the battlefield series. Most aspects of the game were balanced well, all weapons and fighting styles felt good (it wasn't just a grenade spam like BF1), most of the bugs were minor (unlike BF4), the maps we're a perfect size to encourage action while giving room to outplay.

I’d honestly be happy with a WW2 re-skin for BF1 with some new features and a few changes. After playing BFV for a few hours it simply doesn’t have that ‘battlefield’ experience. Although the maps are beautiful they feel oddly empty, past battlefield games were action packed and you felt like you were in the middle of an actually WAR.
Honestly it would be pretty damn easy for it since BF1 plays like a WWII game in the first place.

WWI was a slow and methodical push through trenches and smaller towns with very little movement except for the times where armies would literally outlast their enemy to win, since disease was rampant. There was mostly bolt actions being used as well, very few of these fully automatic weapons we see in the game hold for a few light machine guns.
WWII on the other hand was fast and deadly seen through tactics such as Blitzerkreig and the development and mass production of better weapons. There was less methodical trench pushed for strategic locations and more capturing of important towns and cities. Oh and this war ended within days after the atomic bomb killed thousands of people.
These wars were different so their games should reflect that. BF1 might be fun but it sure as hell doesn't reflect WWI in an accurate way.
These were the same complaints people had about BF1 before it came out. Just wait till the game is out and more maps start coming out for it. And one thing DICE does do well is patch as much as they can. CTE should help a lot too. It greatly helped BF4 and BF1

There have been more than a few maps throughout battlefield's history where there is only small skirmishes instead of all-out war.

Is like no one addressing the ammo count and how the medic and support class aren't like the support classes they once were? They changed to much and it doesn't feel like battlefield. The ammo in the fighter is fine. But why does a tiger only have 16 shots ?

@@Keychain117 but the tanks still had more shells than that, and considering the Tiger is a heavy tank it should have at least 25 shells in my opinion, and in the full game the Pzkpfw IV F2 should have more because it's a medium tank and possibly have a slightly faster reload than the heavy tanks
The tiger with 16 shots is so people don't sit around in the vehicle and camp for kills. Or at least for very long.

Review's are subjective you have to actually play it yourself to know if you would personally like it.
I have no regrets with my pre order. The game plays great. Of course it has a couple bugs but it’ll mostly be fixed at launch. Play the beta. Reviews won’t determine how you feel about a game unless you try it.
What I don't like: Almost everything. It's a clunky, cobbled together mess of systems that don't work well together.
Elaborate? 99% of complaints I see that are "this game feels like shit/etc." say so without actually explaining why.

I enjoyed the beta, but they need to change the rubbish plane controls. Instead of constantly dragging the mouse to move, maybe have it so the plane moves proportionality to the offset the mouse is at from the centre of the screen? Like in war thunder or the fsx mouse yoke.

I’m not someone who cared about women with biotic arms in the game but the game just looks boring and the “improvements” seem to go backwards. Might go down as one of the worst battlefields. I know it hasn’t come out but playing the beta just feels empty and not engaging.

I found the gameplay and changes quite good, there was some things that I didn't like. But hell yeah, I miss the bf1 chaos
I forgot to mention the epicness of bf1 in general. You can find that epicness when advancing in Frontlines, in Operations, when behemoths arrive, even when the narrator tell the stories before operations begins and at final. I wish DICE added this things into the final version of BFV
These games have had a gradual decline since bf4 and I don't like it, dice should go back to taking their time to release better titles a lot of the gameplay and gun customization issues I've heard so far were also complaints I heard about swbf2 so the devs knew these were a problem and kept going anyways that's just lazy

Totally agree, after all the effort they put into BF3, BF4 and all the titles after just haven't been able to live up to the execution. The only thing that will save BF5 for me is if the maps are good, and if rush gets decent maps, but BF1 and BF4 indicate otherwise.
BF4 was a complete mess at launch.
Honestly this beta didn't satisfy me. When I played the BF1 beta it was a rush of enjoyment and new experiences with world War 1 technology. But now I kill one guy and I'm instantly destroyed, I revive a teammate and I grab their gun and the dog fighting is choppy and feels lacking, though this is a beta so I don't know if the full game might have this impact.
This looks average. Too many great games coming out later this year to give BFV the playtime I usually give BF games. Do better DICE. I hope the next one will be good.

I'm going to say right up that Battlefield will have the best Battle Royale system out of all of the others. Now I can finally play a good game with the great graphics and the gameplay style that I like the best, compared to Fortnite and even PUBG. I can't wait for playing with Tanks, because that my favorite way to play in Battlefield!

The skill tree sucks. Just because you can choose to take the right or left upgrade path doenst mean you get to costumize your gun because these paths are still presets.
